Chapter 38: Assets Aplenty

Los Santos

Monday

"Ms. Auclair, you've convinced me with these baked goods. You got the talent in spades." Isaribi said before accidentally letting out a belch. "Sorry about that."

"No worries about that at all, dearie." Jennifer said sweetly.

"I'll invest in your business idea, but I have some caveats to this offer. Aside from getting a cut of the business, I got a few conditions." Isaribi said. "One: getting the van both armored and bulletproofed. Two: I'd have one of my members ride along with you as security to keep you safe. You can pay him or her like your employee…it may not be the same person all the time but my members need a day job to keep busy."

"That sounds agreeable." Jennifer said as Isaribi made a phone call. "What are you doing?"

"Calling the company secretary to draft up a contract. Given this is going to be a completely legit business, I wanted to have the paperwork made for a record." Isaribi said before chatting up her assistant before hanging up. "All right, I can arrange for us to have a meeting tomorrow morning between you, me, and my assistant to talk terms. I'd do it today, but I got work to do. Eight a.m. good?"

"It is." Jennifer said as Isaribi got up.

"Good, I'll have you picked up." Isaribi said before turning to Jon. "And as for you?"

Jon was tense only to be given Isaribi's phone number.

"Call me sometime." Isaribi said revealing she had Jon's phone in her hand.

She already planted his number into her phone before tossing him his phone back. She took her leave only to stop.

"And because I forgot." Isaribi said subtly using the CEO/VIP Menu. "There's a car waiting for you outside…to replace your lost van."

She went out the door to get her bike as Jon saw a matte black Patriot nearby. He found the keys for it as Isaribi rode away.

"I think she likes you." Jennifer said in a sing-song voice as Jon pouted.

Isaribi's phone rang with an unknown caller, she answered.

"Hello." Isaribi asked.

"You're Isaribi Umi, right?"

"Who wants to know?" Isaribi asked.

"I'm Lindsay Mills…your personal mechanic." Lindsay said.

"Oh, that's great. I'll get to buying garage space so we can meet. Be seeing you soon." Isaribi said before hanging up.

With a 'Garage Mechanic' contact in her contacts now, she headed for Mirror Fashion and went straight to her 'managerial office' office to use the computer. As she did, she noticed an email from MC to which she looked into.

'To Naruto, Isaribi, Yara, Tomoko: To make up for the inconvenience of not having your personal mechanic sooner, your mechanics' pay has been handed. Of course, you'll still have to pay your garage mechanic the $10 a day fee. Just think of it as 5% percent of what they are actually paid. Me and our rabbit in the sky got the funding covered, just pay your fees. Sincerely, MC'

Some mental math had her realize those mechanics were certainly well-paid and with the System, got it a bit easier. Getting into Dynasty 8, she started looking at her options. Given she saw Naruto had two on the map, she realized he had the right idea. However, given that she had a garage outside of LS in front of her MC Clubhouse, she decided to just get one. She settled to snag the high-end garage in La Mesa seeing it was in the neighborhood with their other warehouses and made the purchase.

[You've purchased 'Unit 2 Popular Street' as your garage.]

With that dealt with, she logged off before leaving the store. She ended up in her LS garage and wheeled in. The inside was what she expected for high-end. She was surprised to see a vending machine, but the real prize was what was in the parking spots aside from her other Personal Vehicles and one BEW-branded Cavalcade. It was a pure nostalgia trip. She found Jason's Diabolus Chopper, Billy's Revenant, Yusuf Amir's golden Enus Super Drop Diamond, and Chan Jaoming's modified purple Comet. All vehicles she had to leave behind when she left LC, now back in her hands. She even found a Hexer Custom that was a replica of Johnny's bike…the original one before it was blown up in that drug deal.

"I think Hexer Custom just refers to the modifications Angus mostly made to it." She thought.

Oddly, she found a Tri-Cycles Racing Bike on the bike racks that was apparently hers but she surmised it to be one of Kaguya's 'gifts'. She noticed next to the glassed off area was a pink Invetero Coquette D10, heavily modified with a full splitter kit, a tuner diffuser with canards, carbon sport diffuser exhaust pipes, carbon housing grilles, a black Invetero racing stripe, dual vent roof scoops, winged skirts, a carbon competition wing spoiler, a carbon sunstrip, and hot pink rims.

"She got good taste." Isaribi said as she parked her bike.

She heard voices and moved out of sight. She noticed Lindsay was on the phone, with it on speaker. Lindsay was the blonde, the kind of blonde that Victoria wished she was. Tall, model thin, blue-eyed, and buxom. She wore a dark red tank top under a denim blue jacket, dark orange tights under a denim blue skirt, brown cowboy boots, silver hoop earrings, and a blue bandana on top of her long blonde hair. The jacket was monogrammed on the right side with 'L. Mills, Mechanic'.

"Yeah, I got the pizza. Thanks, sis…" Lindsay said before hanging up.

Isaribi made her presence known by shifting the radio station to Channel X and making herself visible.

"Lindsay, a pleasure to meet you." Isaribi said as Lindsay put the pizza box down to shake her hand.

"It's all mine. Thank you for the job, I've heard quite a lot about you…the elusive Lady Liberty. Saints speak of you like you're the boogeyman." Lindsay said.

"But I'm not the boogeyman, I'm the one sent to put a bullet through its head." Isaribi said, getting Lindsay to laugh. "You didn't mention gang ties."

"I didn't because I don't really have them. I had a fri-well more like a former friend running with them as a lieutenant. She wanted me to join as well…as I was her 'underling' in a sense. But I was graduating early, and I decided to just cut her off once I had graduated. Vanessa was a better friend anyway…and she's the reason for me looking to seek work with you." Lindsay explained.

"Ah. Any friend of Vanessa's is a friend of mine." Isaribi said as Lindsay ran her through the spiel of what could do for her and so on.

"And finally, there's $10 a day fe-"

"Here's 40 grand. That should cover fees for 10 years, the rest change you can have as a tip." Isaribi said, handing over the cash.

"Thanks boss. Also there's the small fee for refilling the vending machine…but that will be weekly. I'll have the bill sent to you." Lindsay said, pocketing the money.

"Well, with all that covered. I got something for you…the number for my cab company. Whenever I call for you to drop one of my rides out to me, you can call them for a ride back. Don't worry, you won't be charged…I'll make sure of it. Just show your ID to the driver, and it'll be covered." Isaribi said, writing down the number. "Be seeing you."

She left the garage before calling up Brian.

"Brian, it's Isaribi. Look, I got a personal mechanic working for me. Can we work on the cabs? Well, I'll ask her later, but I'll probably have to pay more for that. Look, her name is Lindsay Mills. I need her on the exception list, yeah the list for free cab rides. Thanks, man. Say hi to Aiko and the drivers for me." Isaribi said before hanging up.

1337 Exceptionalists Way. Yara stood there in front of a warehouse, her recently obtained Declasse Tampa. She got a call from her new 'Garage Mechanic' that he was ready to work. She had called Naruto for a bit of advice and after some wise words…she bought the place.

[You've purchased '1337 Exceptionalists Way' as your garage.]

The 'For Sale' sign vanished as the garage door opened up. She sauntered back into her car to walk it in. The interior being the same as Naruto and Isaribi's high-end ones. Yara parked her car noticing the Endurex Race Bike on the bike rack.

"Biking, I should give that a try sometime." Yara said before seeing a bright orange Infernus Classic thanks to the workstation.

"Ain't she a beaut?"

Yara turned to see the face of the guy who called her…an older Colombian gentleman who wore an open orange Hawaiian shirt, a short sleeved dark gray guayabera, beige work pants, brown combat boots, and a black Feud fitted cap over his short black hair. The shirt was monogrammed with his name and mechanic under it.

"Mr. Pupar." Yara said, offering her hand.

"Senorita, please call me, Alroy." Juan said, shaking it.

"So, tell me about yourself." Yara said using the vending machine to offer a beverage.

"I've been to plenty of places…working as a part of several different gangs doing various things. But after having a family…you have to keep yourself alive by all means. Especially when you end up a single dad. Now that the kid is on his own, I wanted to make myself useful…and I had a love for all things mechanics." Alroy said before running Yara through the services and such.

"Here's 20 grand. That should cover me for five years, keep the change. Also, I got this Tampa I'd like to be sold." Yara said, taking out two drinks while giving him one.

"It'll be handled." Alroy said as Yara got in her Turismo R. "You should be expecting about $187,500 in time"

"Great, I'll be taking my leave now." Yara said before leaving in her car.

She would worry about a second garage, she'd simply take in the fact getting PVs and PBs got far easier.

Tomoko was rather pissed given she knew she had to worry and get a high-end garage before they were all gone. Especially with that email from MC making it clear she had to get things set up. As she was riding on her Shotaro, she got a text from Danica.

'Tomoko, bf got you a mech, expect a call.'

It was funny considering Isarbi had talked with Tomoko over the phone about Eric which had her curious about who this person was.

"Well, I'll be damned…" Tomoko said before answering her phone. "Hello?"

"Yes, this is Tomoko Kuroki?"

"Speaking." Tomoko said.

"Name's Ben Dover." Ben said as Tomoko balked. "Just get the laughter out of the way."

Tomoko tried her hardest to not laugh, instead turning this to a chance to flirt.

"You don't waste time, but I want to be wined and dined before I do that." Tomoko said smoothly. "Or into that kind of play, the same still applies."

Hearing him sputter was music to her ears. Years of social anxiety avenged as she felt confident in herself.

"Oh come now, don't lose your words, Ben." Tomoko said as Ben cleared his throat.

"Yes, I just need something from you before I really get to working for you. A replacement car…let's just say some shitheads stole my car and got it fenced." Ben said sheepishly.

Tomoko had an idea.

"Tell you what, I'll go buy a garage right now. You can meet me there, I'll have something to hand over to you. See you soon, cutie." Tomoko said before hanging up.

Tomoko was practically glowing but she knew what she had to do. She found herself seeking out what would be the best place to get a garage. She had gotten advice from Isaribi and Naruto, but she'd start with just one garage first. Given she had a place in Paleto Bay and a parking space in Harmony, she really needed one for now. She raced down to seek out 3371 Supply Street…which was actually on Popular Street. She almost considered looking at the other two locations, but she saw this place was across the street from a diner.

"Convenient for him to get a bite to eat, and a potential date spot." She thought before going right up to the 'For Sale' sign. "Sold."

[You've purchased '331 Supply Street' as your garage!]

The sign vanished as Tomoko got back on her bike to wheel it in taking in the pristine interior a high-end garage had to offer. She found her vehicles there along with her workbench. She decided to wait a bit by using the laptop marked for her in her area. She checked her email and found one from her younger brother. After reading it, she wrote up a response.

'Hey little brother, life's treating me well in Los Santos. I got a well-paying job as one of the secondary bosses for a shipping company of sorts. I'm very much happy with my life right now. I hope life is treating you well back home. Yours, Tomoko.'

She sent the email. She highly doubted her family would ever believe she was practically a Yakuza. Although her father would figure it out given his past…and his now current ties to Zaibatsu. It's funny that criminality ran in the family after she had done some digging during her down times since becoming a Protag. Her father had yakuza ties and her mother was of a female-run biker gang (ironic)...both quietly taking more semi-legal when falling into being a family. It felt like her brother was the white sheep now…not that she complained.

The back door opened as two people walked in talking. She could recognize Ben's voice, but not the woman's. Thus, Tomoko kept herself hidden to watch. Ben has similar features to Eric and Jon with the height, broad shoulders, and build. Ben's skin tone was rather duskier with his eyes being a light gray and his tousled short hair a dark brown.

He wore an orange SubUrban t-shirt under a gray colored flight jacket, a pair of gray cargo pants, slate colored round-toe boots, and a gray Los Santos fitted cap turned backwards. The woman next to him was clearly his mother given the similar features…and the thickness.

"Mom, I need you to go. You weren't even supposed to come in…considering no one but me and her are supposed to know where the garage is." Ben remarked. "You already dropped me off."

"Oh don't worry about it. I doubt it'll be an issue." Ms. Dover said before sending the Turismo R. "Just look at it, a real piece of craftsmanship. I long for the day I can have a sports car."

"And you won't get it if you don't get out!" Ben said.

"All right, all right, I'm leaving." Ms. Dover said as Tomoko opened and closed the front door.

Ms. Dover was quick to leave as Tomoko came up to Ben.

"Good to see that you're here. My friends gave me the rundown on what's to be expected and such…so we can skip them. Now about your car problem…here." Tomoko said giving him the keys to her Felon GT and twenty grand. "It's yours. And as for the matter of the fees, here's 20 grand to cover you for five years."

Ben profusely thanked her as she put up a little smirk on her face.

"You can thank me with a date sometime. Maybe consider giving me a call, or maybe I might just call you." Tomoko said sweetly before going for the door. "And you'll have to move the car to your slot in the garage. You have a good day now."

She left as Ben was completely red-faced.

(A/N: And now all four have a garage and a personal mechanic. Though with Tomoko, she'll get more than that. Isaribi might have her sights on a guy herself. I figured if Naruto can get multiple angles, I'd give Isaribi and Tomoko something. As for Yara, I'm sort of figuring how to go at it, but it's likely her first time will be with Naruto. Next chapter, we deal with both the Saints and the fallout of Jase's choice. And yes, Ben Dover's name was on purpose. I do not apologize for that.)
