In Lightclan, dark-pelt cats are considered slaves but Lightkit wants to change all that. Born to the clan leader and his recently deceased mother, he's determined to be the next leader,but when he befriends a dark-pelt kit named Darkkit they're inseparable,but when his father kills the only friend he's ever had. His heart changes to a kind,sweet kit to a cold and murderous leader.

"Lightclaw, are we going to tell Whitestar?" Blossompaw asked.

"No, this is between you and me, Blossompaw." He meowed.

"But why?" she asked.

"Cloudberry and Thorn didn't see you, they think that only I know their secret and can trust me to keep it. If they saw you, I'm not sure how they would react, since you're Snaketooth's daughter. Plus, if we tell Whitestar, I'm not sure how he would react." Lightclaw answered.

"Ah, I see." Blossompaw meowed.

Lightclaw looked at Blossompaw and saw that she was upset. Maybe that wasn't the best thing to say to Blossompaw, especially since she was feeling that she couldn't be trusted with a secret.

"Hey, I'll make you a deal, if you keep quiet about this, than I'll let you sleep in tomorrow, deal?" Lightclaw offered.

"Deal!" Blossompaw beamed.

Lightclaw smiled and both cats returned to camp. When morning came, the sun had already rose, sunlight beamed inside the punishment den and Lightclaw was still sleeping. It wasn't until Lightclaw kept feeling a paw tapping on his shoulder.

"Lightclaw, LIGHTCLAW!" a voice shouted.

Lightclaw was waking up, but he still felt drowsy after staying up late. He looked up to see Brightshine sitting in front of him. Normally, Lightclaw would've growled or even hissed at Brightshine to leave, but he was in no mood for it.

"Lightclaw, Icetuft, Blightpaw, and Blossompaw are waiting for you at the entrance, so hurry up!" Brightshine scolded.

"Alright, alright, I'm up." He yawned.

He got up, made a glare at Brightshine, than slowly left the den with Brightshine following him. Lightclaw entered the camp and saw Icetuft, Blightpaw, and a tired Blossompaw waiting for him.

"There you are, come on, lets go." Icetuft meowed.

Lightclaw, Blightpaw, Blossompaw, and Icetuft left camp. Lightclaw walked beside Blossompaw, both cats were equally tired and sleepy. The group arrived near the western border, Lightclaw realized that they were near the river.

"Hold on, Icetuft. Blossompaw, follow me." He meowed.

Blossompaw followed Lightclaw, both cats approached the river and sat down.

"Here, dip your head in the river here than out." Lightclaw meowed.

Blossompaw nodded, she and Lightclaw dipped their heads into the water for a few seconds, than came up. Both cats shook the excess water off the faces and shivered from the freezing water.

"Burrr, that's really cold." Blossompaw shivered.

"Yeah, that's what happens when it's leaf-fall. How do you feel?" Lightclaw asked.

"I feel a lot more awake now." Blossompaw meowed.

"Don't worry, I promise you'll get to sleep in tomorrow." Lightclaw promised.

Blossompaw nodded and smiled, Lightclaw turned around.

"Come on, lets get back to Icetuft and Blightpaw." He meowed.

Both cats left the river and returned to see Icetuft and Blightpaw waiting for them.

"Finally, you two look a little bit better. Come on, lets start this." Icetuft meowed.

Blossompaw and Blightpaw got into position and Lightclaw and Icetuft stood back a bit.

"Now remember, this assignment is to see how well your fighting has been. Keep your claws sheathed and lets see what you've both learned." Icetuft instructed.

Blossompaw and Blightpaw were ready and got into a crouch. Blossompaw leaped first at Blightpaw, but Blightpaw dodged her and Blossompaw landed on the ground hard. Blightpaw quickly leaped onto Blossompaw and pinned her on the back. Blossompaw struggled for a bit, but finally managed to turn on her back and kick Blightpaw off of her. Both apprentices continued fighting, Lightclaw and Icetuft were watching, and both were impressed by their apprentice's unique strengths. Blightpaw was quick and fast and Blossompaw was strong and had quick-thinking.

"I'm impressed, Icetuft. Blightpaw is quick and fast and has managed to take down Blossompaw a few times." Lightclaw complimented.

"Thank you, Lightclaw. Blossompaw is strong and I've noticed her improvising here and there." He meowed, impressed.

"Thank you. Although, I think Blossompaw may need a few more pointers. I've noticed her being a bit clumsy here and there." Lightclaw meowed.

"Really, are you sure?" Icetuft asked, surprised.

"Yeah, I'm sure." Lightclaw meowed.

Blossompaw and Blightpaw continued fighting. After a few times of struggling and fighting, both apprentices were panting and tired. Both apprentices were dirty and their pelts were all matted. Icetuft and Lightclaw stood up.

"Good job you two, you both fought very well." Icetuft meowed.

"However, Blossompaw, we'll need to review on some of the battle movies, I noticed that you were a bit clumsy here and there." Lightclaw meowed.

"Yes, Lightclaw." She meowed.

"But that's enough fighting for today. How about we test out your hunting skills, how does that sound?" Icetuft meowed.

Both apprentices smiled and nodded.

"Good, now gather a lot of prey and once you do, we'll head back to camp. Remember, Icetuft and I will be watching you." Lightclaw meowed.

Blossompaw and Blightpaw nodded and ran off. Both apprentices split into different directions. Icetuft and Lightclaw gave a few minute head start, than followed their apprentices.
