Prologue 1, Part 2

Normal POV

Hiccup was exploring the woods where the dragon he shot down earlier, landed at. He was using his journal to map out the spots where the dragon had crashed, only to be disappointed as he found another empty spot. Frustrated, he then scribbles the map out after he crossed off the empty spot. "Oh the gods hate me." He said as he put his journal back in his vest. "Some people lose their knife and mug. No, not me, I manage to lose an entire dragon!" Hiccup said angrily as he then smacks at a branch only for it to smack him back.

"Ow!" Hiccups yells in pain then looks over from the tree to the trunk to see it split apart then to the ground to see what looks like a crash landing. He then walks down to see what's up ahead as looks over the hill, he gasps and quickly ducks down. Hiccup slowly raises his head up and looks over the hill to see the Night Fury tangled up in bolas. He then quickly pulls out his dagger before rushing over and ducking down behind a boulder. As Hiccup looks over, he sees that the dragon is not moving before he is shockingly surprised that he managed to take down a night fury.

"Oh wow, I-I-I did it. Ooohhh, I did it, this-this fixes everything. Yes!" He said as he struck a victory pose and placed his foot on top of the beast. "I have brought down this mighty beast-woah!" He said as he felt the dragon move making him back up and fall against a boulder. Hiccup quickly gets back up while he shakingly points his dagger at the tangled up dragon. As he sees it breathing, he looks over to see that the dragon was staring at him with acid green eyes and slitted pupils.

As Hiccup looks at the dragon in fear, he pulls himself together and puts on a brave face.

"I'm gonna kill you dragon. I'm gonna-I'm gonna cut out your heart and take it to my father." He said as he turned his dagger upside down.

"I'm a viking. I'M A VIKING!" He shouts at the dragon as it growls.

Hiccup then raises his dagger, preparing to stab the dragon. As he did, he opened his eyes and looked in the dragon's eyes and he saw fear in them. The Unholly Offspring of Lightning and Death Itself was actually afraid?

Hiccup shook the thought away and tried to focus on ending the dragon's life. The dragon then closes its eyes and lays its head down, accepting its fate. Hiccup was then grunting and gave up as something made him stop. He then looks at his dagger then back to the dragon. "I did this." Hiccup said to himself as he was about to walk away but stopped himself as he looked over to the ropes that tangled the dragon up.

The Night Fury's eyes opened up instantly then looked over to Hiccup to see him cutting the ropes with his dagger.

As Hiccup cut the last rope, the Night Fury then pounces on him and pins him against a boulder with a paw on his chest. Hiccup gasps then breathes heavily a bit before looking at the dragon which was staring down at him menacingly. It stares at Hiccup a little bit before unfolding its wings and opening its mouth as Hiccup closes his eyes, waiting for the dragon to blast. But instead, it releases an ear-piercing roar in his face that could make him deaf before flying off.

Hiccup then gets up to see the dragon trying to fly away before hitting a cliff. He starts gasping a bit as he grabs his dagger before getting up to walk away only to faint as he drops to the ground.
