"When I reach adulthood, my dream is to become a paleontologist, but my schoolmates ridicule me due to my disabilities. They have given me cruel nicknames like the 'dumb Dino boy' or 'stupid Sammy,' leaving me friendless and misunderstood," Sammy shares.
"Those children have underestimated you. You possess intelligence, not stupidity. Your aspiration of becoming a paleontologist is not something to be taken lightly. Don't allow their hurtful words to deter you from chasing your dreams," Katie reassures.
"Thank you, Katie," Sammy responds gratefully.
"Hey Sammy!" Mason calls out.
"Mason!" Sammy exclaims, rushing over to embrace him. "What brings you here?"
"I'm working here," Mason reveals with a smile.
"We should go inside. It's getting really hot out here, even though the sun will set soon," Logan suggests.
They all head into the beach house and gather in the living room, taking a seat on the couch.
"Mason has told us so much about you, Sammy," Kendall mentions.
"You're not going to make fun of me because I'm different, right? I find it hard to trust people I've just met," Sammy expresses.
"We're all against bullying. Teasing you would be pointless and mean, and it wouldn't achieve anything," Kendall assures.
"I appreciate that you're not a bad person. You and the rest of Big Time Rush can be my friends if you want to. I don't think there are many fans from the special needs community," Sammy admits.
"We actually have a couple, and we're friends with one of them. He and his brother visit the Palm Woods often," Logan shares.
"What are their names?" Sammy inquires.
"Their names are Andy and Steven. They're brothers. Andy is 11 years old and Steven is 12. Steven is autistic and can communicate using American Sign Language most of the time. He also has a one-year-old German Shepherd named Tyson, who is his service dog," Logan explains.
"That's cool. I wish I could have a service dog too. Then I would finally have a friend who doesn't judge me and loves me unconditionally," Sammy expresses.
"I was completely surprised to see unexpected guests," Ms. Knight comments as she enters the room. "Why was I kept in the dark? Don't forget, this isn't our living space, we can't just have people dropping in unannounced."
"My apologies, Ms. Knight. This is Delaney, my girlfriend, and her little brother Sammy. I invited them over, but rest assured, I did get permission from Mr. Griffin for their visit," Mason explains.
"Thank you for letting me know, Mason. Delighted to meet you, Delaney and Sammy," Ms. Knight says warmly.
"Pleasure to meet you, Ms. Knight," Delaney responds.
"Hi," Sammy adds quietly.
