"Sammy, Sammy!" Katie calls out, her flashlight scanning the sandy beach. "Don't be afraid, we just want to make sure you're okay!" She exhales in frustration. "Camille, Mason, search those bushes. I'll check behind the trees."

Together, they explore the designated areas.

"Nothing," Camille reports, her head shaking in disappointment.

"No traces of him around here," Mason adds. "Perhaps he's not even on the beach."

"He must be around somewhere," Katie insists. "Perhaps Kendall and the rest of the group are having more success than us."

"I combed the sandy shores for his footprints," Delaney remarked. "Luckily, he's not a fan of the water. I'm certain he didn't dart into the ocean."

"He could be holed up in the beach house. That's where Kendall's crew is scouring," Katie suggested.

"I know a spot we haven't searched yet. Let's peek around your car, Delaney," Mason proposed.

"That's a solid plan, Mason. He seemed quite content near your vehicle earlier. I recall having to coax him out. It's like his safe haven," Camille added.

"Agreed. Let's go," Delaney replied, and they all dashed towards the driveway.

"He's not here," Katie sighed, looking out at the empty beach and Delaney's car. "Let's head inside. It's clear Sammy isn't hanging around out here."

Together, they entered the cozy beach house.

"Any sign of him, Kendall?" Katie inquired.

Kendall shook her head. "Nope, and this place is like a maze."

"Did you check all the bedrooms?" Delaney asked, concern in her voice.

"Yes, every single one," Kendall replied.

"Even the room where I've been crashing?" Katie pressed.

"Yes, I swear," Kendall reassured them.

"Let's take another look. I have a plan," Katie suggested. "Tell me, Delaney, what's Sammy's go-to snack?"

Delaney thought for a moment. "He's all about the junk food. Gummy bears, gummy worms – anything gummy and animal-shaped, really. He's like a wild animal when it comes to those treats."

"Ah, I've got it! The key to our success lies in sweet, chewy gummy snacks," Katie proclaims confidently.

"Katie, focus! This is serious business. Why fixate on gummy snacks?" Kendall questions.

Frustrated, Katie throws up her hands. "Don't you see? I have a brilliant plan! Delaney mentioned that Sammy adores animal shaped gummies. We can use them to draw him out! I'm not being selfish, I'm helping my new friend!"

Recognizing his mistake, Kendall sighs and meets his sister's gaze. "I apologize, Katie. I underestimated your plan. It's actually quite clever. I should have had more faith in you."

"Kendall, your support means the world to me. Consider yourself forgiven. By the way, do we happen to have any gummy treats lying around?" Katie inquires.

"I'm not sure," Kendall responds.

"Well, I do," Carlos chimes in. "I was holding onto them for a special occasion, but Sammy could use them more right now."

"Wait, you just happen to have a hidden stash of gummy snacks with you?" Delaney questions.

"Yep, always prepared," Carlos replies with a grin.

"Typical," Logan mutters with a sigh.

"What's the matter Logan?" Mason inquires.

"Carlos is a total sugar fiend. If he consumes too much sugar, he becomes extremely hyper. I've warned Camille about it before, but I'll say it again. Carlos takes the typical sugar rush to a whole new level. It's astonishing he hasn't developed juvenile diabetes," Logan explains.

"My sweet tooth isn't that severe. I can handle it," Carlos protests.

"No, you can't," James and Kendall interject.

Katie chuckles and embraces him. "Thanks for assisting me with my scheme," she says.
