Just an impromptu little update to something I..have not updated in two years.
Carmelita was sitting around at Countie's house when she saw a magazine about 15 yards away from her feet. It was called The Guide to Being In, and Esme had clearly forgotten it when she met with the city's seventh-most important financial advisor about killing off the fifth-most important financial advisor. Carmelita opened the magazine.
Remember that water balloons as hats are very in! Carmelita read. Don't forget your men's underwear and pink feather boa!
Luckily, Count Olaf kept water balloons in a trunk, so Carmelita was able to take one. It was purple.
The same count only washed his underwear once every 30 years or so, but Carmelita had no regard whatsoever for proper hygiene, so she put them on and borrowed a boa from her tap-dancing ballerina fairy princess veterinarian outfit. Carmelita knew that Esme had worn a pinstripe suit to her meeting, so Carmelita put her own suit on and looked at herself. She looked very in.
Of course, Carmelita couldn't stop there. She consulted the magazine again, and knew now that she needed to wear fuzzy bunny slippers to be even more in. She found them and placed the water balloon on her head. "Esme will be very proud," she said to herself. "Maybe she'll even take me to Cafe Salmonella for being so in!"
Carmelita opened the magazine again and learned that she should drink a cup of shower water with a hint of orange to be even more in. Given that the home was inhabited by Count Olaf, Esme Squalor, and Carmelita Spats, the shower was rarely used and the water was close to being shut off, but eventually Carmelita was able to get enough water out to make an in drink.
She was just beginning to sip her beverage in a carefree, in sprawl on the couch when Esme walked in. She looked for her boyfriend, but he was in the tower room teaching his theater troupe to do backflips.
"Carmelita, have you seen Olaf today?" asked Esme, kicking off her in heels and heading to the shower to make her own in drink.
"He's teaching the theater troupe to do backflips." said Carmelita. "He said he'd teach you and me later if you want."
"Tell him backflips are not in." Esme stopped and saw what Carmelita was wearing. "Have you been reading my magazines?"
"I just figured I should appreciate what's in." said Carmelita, sipping her in drink.
"Well, Carmelita, this outfit of yours is very in. How did you know to wear a pinstripe suit? That was not in the magazine."
"I just remembered what you were wearing."
With that, Esme put on her own bunny slippers and water balloon, found a boa behind the couch and draped it around herself, burst in on Count Olaf and insisted it was an emergency, and escorted him and Carmelita to Cafe Salmonella to round out their day with some in salmon ice cream.
You know, reviews are very in.
