Just to be clear this will only be going over a little bit and will not be completely cannon (obvi), more things will be revealed and will be explained in detail better later.

It was a cold day, as it was the first of February, when Cora Mills went into labor. She was in her and her husband's bed with the one of the midwives at her side while the other was at the end of the bed checking to how far she was.

"The baby is crowing, your majesty. It's time for you to push." the woman said. The woman pushed and out came the screaming newborn. The woman relaxed her body and was breathing heavily.

"Um, your majesty. I see another head, you're having another child."

"What?!" The woman shouted, she gave another strong push at the midwife's request and out came another child.

"Congratulations your majesty, you have two beautiful baby girls." A midwife said. Both of the women handed the babies to the woman.

"Do you have an idea of what you would like to name them?"

"The first shall be called Regina for she will be Queen one day, the second Trina, For her innocence and purity."

Since their birth, the girls were well taken care of. They were cared for by their nursemaid and their father. Their mother Cora was not around them unless they needed to be fed. She was busy doing other things, such as scaring those that worked for her and practicing her magic.

As the girls grew, they were mainly surrounded by their father and their teachers. The girls were rarely allowed outside of the palace and the kids of the staff were never allowed around them.

Around the time of their fifth birthday was when their mother started getting stricter with them. Before when she would usually just tell them off, she started using magic to constrict their movements.

Everyone noticed the woman's change in demeanor though nobody could tell why. Anyone who dared to question a punishment was dealt with by the woman in question.

As the twins got older their punishments would get worse. The woman made sure the girls only had time for their studies and not a single moment for any thoughts of anything she deemed unworthy.

The girls' father Sir Henry did as much as he could to shield them from their mother, but he was just as afraid of the woman as anyone under their command even though they were supposed equals.

Henry had gotten each of the girls a horse when they were ten and convinced his wife that they needed to be taught how to ride like a royal, she believed him and gave into the request.

Once when the girls were having a riding lesson taught to them the horses ended up getting spooked by something, the girls had fallen off and gotten their clothes dirty.

Cora was not pleased, not in the slightest.

She had gotten so mad she had used magic on them scarring their upper lips. She tried to heal them but that was more light magic than dark, which she possessed.

She blamed them as if it was their fault and told them that they were scarred and any prince in his right mind wouldn't want a damaged princess. Around that time was when Cora started in on the girls mentally other than just physical punishments.

Cora's treatment of the girls went on for years. Until one day, when the King's daughter was on a runaway horse in need of help. The girls ended up being the ones that saved her.

The King was eternally grateful to them for saving his little girl, he made a deal with Cora. For saving his daughter he would marry her eldest, Regina.

Even though she told her mother time and time again how much she didn't want to marry the King, Cora still managed to have her way and she was forced to marry a man three times her age.

When Regina married the King, she told her mother the only way she would go willingly was if her sister was allowed to go with her. For reasons unknown Cora agreed and Trina went with Regina to the King's palace with her.

Regina and Trina went through a lot living with King and Princess. The Princess Snow White wasn't necessarily a bad child, just bratty and In need of being knocked off her high horse. The King however was an entirely different problem.

Around the staff he was polite, around his daughter he was pleasant and even around other royals some would even say he was nice, but when it was just him around Regina or Trina or the the both of them together he was the complete opposite.

They thought moving away from their mother would mean less emotional abuse, they thought wrong. He wasn't as bad as their mother, he wouldn't hit them over the littlest things, though he did spend a better portion of his time drinking. That was when he would get handsy.

One night, when the King had been drinking he had stumbled into the wrong sleeping quarters. Trina's sleeping quarters. Regina was made aware almost immediately and magicked her way there. No one except the girls are aware of what happened that night. The only thing everyone was sure of was that Regina had killed him.

After the King's passing, Regina took over. She wasn't a bad ruler but people revolted. Taking Snow White's side of the story and not getting all of the facts. This made Regina mad, who were these people to judge her without even taking the time to get to know her.

She planned. Days turned to nights, weeks to months to years. She had become desperate, hardened and only showed her true self to two people. She had to cast the curse, she believed it to be the only way.

She struggled with the decision but it needed to be made. She did it and now in a land free of magic with only one other person she trusted, she felt worse. Casting the dark curse came at a price and she knew it, she just didn't believe it to be of any meaning.

Trina tried to get her sister in better spirits and for a while it worked. While Regina was the Mayor of her new town the people only remembered things for a day and then they were forgotten. An endless loop of nonsense for everyone except the twins.

So Trina took her clubbing. They had a blast, they went out constantly until Trina wanted to have more fun. They started to argue over meaningless things, Trina wanted to leave. She knew she had to see the world, Regina didn't want her to get hurt, wanted to protect her like always.

They came to an agreement. Trina could leave, memories intact, a large amount of money in her bank account, a new car as long as she kept in touch. They had said goodbye but all was well.

After a while Regina got bored and lonely. She would watch movies and television shows. Read endless amounts of books but nothing could satisfy her. Until she adopted a baby.

A baby which had made her smile like she had no problems, like she wasn't the Evil Queen she felt she was. She made a promise to herself and to her new son, that she would never let anything happen to him as long as she lived.

Regina named him Henry Daniel, after her father, the man she had to sacrifice to get here and Daniel, the only man she had ever loved.
