Chapter 2: Huntsmen in Training
The weekend came to a quick end and the students of Beacon groaned as they entered back into a new week of hard assignments and impossible tests. Ruby felt depressed at the realization when she remembered there was an essay she forgot to write for Professor Oobleck; she tried begging Weiss to write it for her but of course, she refused.
"Come on Weiss pretty please? I won't ask again!"
Ruby was on her knees using her famous puppy face.
Weiss rolled her eyes.
"You need to stop being lazy and do the work! And you can't get me with that pathetic excuse for a puppy face! Zwei does it better."
"Speaking of cute animals-yo Blake! You gonna get down from the bed?" Yang yelled aloud as she finished putting on her uniform.
Blake sat up from her bed grumbling, "Why do you guys have to be so loud?" The cat-faunus's black hair was as messy as a mop and her cat ears were flapping all over the place as she arose.
"Wow, you look like a zombie! Didn't get any sleep?" asked Weiss.
"No...I was up training and getting my sk-"
"Lies. You were reading that new book Samurai Girl Imprisonment," Yang snickered as Blake's face turned red at the mention of her new love book. Weiss just looked up at Blake with disgust while Ruby just stood there clueless because of her innocence.
"W-whatever! I just like samurais!"
"I thought you liked ninjas that's why you always read Ninjas' of Love right?" Ruby said as she picked the old book from Blake's bookshelf. And then like a black flash, the book was gone from Ruby's hands and was in Blake's who had finally come down from the bed.
"Don't touch it!" Blake hissed at her young team leader. "This book is too...explicit for you!"
Ruby puffed up her cheeks.
"So what!? I'm not scared of explicit things! I kill Grimm and fight criminals!"
"Whatever, let's just go before we get another strike for being late," said Weiss as she was the first to walk out of the room.
As the members of Team RWBY were walking down the hall they encountered another group of four students that knew very well. Team JNPR was made up of the first years Jaune Arc, Nora Valkyrie, Pyrhha Nikos, and Lie Ren.
"Good Morning~!" Pyrrha sang as she waved at the girls but even though she sounded cheery there were heavy bags under her eyes. All of Team JNPR had bags under their eyes.
"What happened to you guys?" asked Yang, "You look so tired."
"We didn't get any sleep last night," Jaune yawned, "Nora was up all night screaming watching The Movement of Apathy."
"I'll never watch that movie again…" stated Nora who was visibly shaking. Ren shook his head.
"I told you not to watch it. You can never handle scary movies."
"Oh, so that's the screaming I was hearing last night!" Blake announced, "I was trying to read so I plugged pillow cotton in all four of my ears."
"OK, can we put Nora being traumatized on the side and head to class?" Weiss said while tapping her foot impatiently.
Ruby groaned, "Mr. Oobleck is going to be so pissed ("Watch your language Ruby!" shouted Yang)! I wish I had finished that essay!"
Jaune turned to Ruby with fear covering his face, "W-we had an essay…?"
Yang laughed aloud while Weiss and Blake's faces palmed. Jaune grabbed his head and started panicking.
"Crap! I failed too many of his assignments! He's definitely going to make me stay after class and force me to do some annoyingly long history project that will take all of the weekend to do!" Jaune fell on his knees and started crying.
"No! Not the weekends!" Ruby screamed as she fell to her knees and followed Jaune's example by crying.
"Aren't our leaders the best?" Blake said in a very sarcastic tone.
Thanks to the will of the gods, Team RWBY and JNPR made it to Professor Oobleck's class on time with only two minutes to spare. As they entered the room, the two teams could see Oobleck himself already collecting essays around the entire classroom which caused Jaune and Ruby to sweat nervously. The teams tried to find their normal seats but thanks to them being the last ones in there was no row where they could all sit together.
"I'm gonna go sit on the upper left so I can sleep," said Nora as Ren and Yang followed her to the same row.
"I guess I'm sitting in the back," stated Weiss as Blake and Pyrrha walked behind her. The only ones left were Ruby and Jaune.
"See any seats Jaune?" Ruby asked the tall classmate. Jaune activated his hawk vision and quickly looked over any seats that were open and in a matter of five seconds he found them but not in a place he found pleasing.
"I...I see two seats but…"
"But what?"
"Cardin is sitting there."
Both Ruby and Jaune groaned at the same time; the last person they wanted to deal with was Beacon's greatest bully, Cardin Winchester.
"Who cares! Let's just sit down before Professor Oobleck yells at us," Ruby expressed as she made her way to the seats.
The leader of Team CRDL quickly noticed the two other leaders and greeted them with a wave and a snarky smile.
"Sup Jauney-Boy! And hey there Petals!"
"Petals?" Ruby tilted her head in confusion.
"You don't mind us sitting here, do you, Cardin?" Jaune asked the intimidating classmate.
Cardin slouched back in his chair, "Nah I don't care. After all, my teammates are scattered throughout the classroom so go ahead and take your seats."
"Thanks," Jaune said as he got the seat at the end of the row when Ruby was forced to sit in the middle of both him and Cardin.
Once they were seated Cardin sat up and leaned over towards them so that they could hear his whisper.
"By the way...did you guys finish your essays by any ch-"
"No."
Both team leaders replied in perfect unison.
"Dammit!" Cardin cursed under his breath, "I thought I could at least copy from someone else!"
"Why didn't you copy from your teammates?" Ruby questioned as she was taking out her books.
"Russel didn't even start it, Dove was sleeping for the entire weekend, and Sky was off in the library doing his own thing. He finished it but refused to let me copy it!"
"Must be rough," Jaune murmured as he opened up his notebook.
"U-uhm...C-Cardin...?"
The three students looked at the row below and saw the person who called out to Cardin. It was Velvet Scarlatina, a second-year and a member of Team CFVY.
"What do you want, freak?" Cardin replied in a harsh tone. Ruby growled at the bully, almost forgetting the fact he was racist towards Faunus.
Velvet flinched from Cardin's harsh tone but continued to talk.
"I-I...I need my notebook..."
"What was that?" Cardin cupped his ear. "Speak up bunny, I can't hear you!"
The bunny faunus turned red as she sucked in her breath and spoke louder.
"Can you please give me back my notebook!"
"What are you talking about?" Cardin questioned with an annoyed look.
"You know what I am talking about! My notebook! You took it from me last week! It has all my notes for this class inside!
"Oh yeah!"
Cardin snapped his fingers as the memory of the event Velvet spoke returned to him.
"I asked you very politely to hand your notes because me and teammates missed some, but you cruelly denied us."
"Y-you didn't really ask nicely..." Velvet said, but her voice was low that no one heard her.
"Regardless, I'm done with it."
The big kid then reached into his bag and pulled out a brown journal with golden letters that spelled "Scarlatina" on it.
"Here you go," Cardin said lazily as he tossed the notebook down.
"T-thank you! I hope my notes were usefu-"
But when Velvet opened up her notebook she gasped so loud that her teammates who were sitting right next to her turned to her attention.
"What's up Velvet?"
Talking to Velvet was the team leader of CFVY, Coco Adel. The team leader hovered over Velvet and looked into her notebook to see what was the matter and what she saw made her face turn red with rage. All over Velvet's notebook were horrible drawings of...private parts.
"I can't even read my notes anymore!"
Tears fell from Velvet's face as she shut her notebook.
Coco turned her head to the row above, her low voice full of bloodlust even made Ruby and Jaune shiver.
"Cardin…" snarled Coco, "Please give me a good explanation or I'll snap your neck…"
"What are you talking about?" Cardin responded, sounding less intimidated and more uninterested.
"This!" Coco took Velvet's notebook and showed Cardin the inappropriate pictures. At first, Cardin looked surprised but then he shrugged it off and slouched back on his chair.
"I didn't draw those."
"Don't lie, asshole!" Coco threw the book back on Velvet's lap, "This is definitely something your pansy ass would do!"
Cardin huffed, "For the last time, I. Didn't. Do it! Probably one of my teammates did. I wasn't the only one who used it."
"Is that your excuse?"
"Not an excuse, just speaking the truth. You can believe me with you want."
Coco inched closer, "And if I don't believe?"
Cardin chuckled while cracking his knuckles. "Well that would be a problem now, wouldn't it?"
Jaune and Ruby started to sweat.
"H-hey guys!" Jaune spoke up. "Please don't do anything crazy! Class is just starting!"
"His heart is beating pretty fast…"
Saying that was the other CFVY member who was sitting next to Coco, the blind and extremely talented, Fox Alistair.
"W-whose heartbeat?" Velvet asked her teammate.
Fox pointed to the seat to the left of him showing a teenage boy with a green mohawk who was visibly shaking in his seat. He is a member of team CRDL, Russel Thrush.
"His heart was beating irregularly when Velvet pointed out the drawings," Fox stated, still pointing at the shaking Russel.
"S-shut up bro!" Russel stuttered. There was one thing he feared more than Grimm and Cardin and that was Coco. He still remembers the day when Team CFVY came storming into the dorm when they heard that they were bullying Velvet. As you can expect the day did not end well for the poor team of bullies.
His worst fears came true as Coco Adel slowly made her way over to the petrified Thrush. She tilted her sunglasses to reveal her dark-brown eyes that seemed to glow with some sort of menacing power.
"Russel?" Even though she had a smile on her face and her voice sounded sweet, Russel knew he was about to be destroyed. "Were you the one who drew in Velvet's notebook?"
"I-I-" Russel refused to look into the girl's eyes, afraid that he might faint just from the intense stare alone, "I thought it was my notebook..."
"Oh? So your notebook has "Scarlatina" in the front?"
"Shit!" Russel cursed under his breath.
"Why did you even draw in it?" asked Cardin as he hovered over the seat.
"I-I was bored! I thought it would be funny!" Russel said aloud.
"Is Velvet laughing?" Coco questioned Russel and it looked like she was about ready to choke him out.
"I definitely didn't hear any laughter from her side," said Fox, whose calm voice also brought fear to Russel.
"G-guys!" Velvet started waving her arms frantically, "L-let's just put this to rest! Class is starting and I got my notebook back anyway..."
"Y-yeah!" Russel spoke up trying to sound brave against the two terrifying CFVY members. "Y-you wouldn't dare do anything to me with Professor Oobleck watching!"
"Hmph," Coco stood up and put her sunglasses on right, "Fine...we'll just wait for lunchtime."
"Huh?"
"The moment your ass steps foot in the cafeteria I will make you experience hell. Enjoy your last few minutes of living," Coco declared in a low growl as she walked back to her seat and Fox cracked his knuckles indicating that he would be getting in on the action too.
Poor Russel looked up at his team leader who shook his head.
"This is your own ass man, wipe it yourself."
"Some team leader you are..." Ruby said in a low voice but Cardin caught it quickly. He gave Ruby a huff and left it at that.
"I'M HUNGRY!" Yang whined as she laid her face on the desk. Ren patted the blonde's hair slightly trying to comfort her.
"We missed breakfast so there's no helping it," Ren said.
"I don't care! I just need a little food in my sy-"
Yang stopped talking as a certain smell brushed past her nostrils. She and Ren looked down at the row below them to see Dove Bronzewing, a member of Team CRDL, sitting nonchalantly with a whole pancake maker on his table baking his third pancake.
"Is...is that even allowed?" Ren questioned but Yang ignored him and leaned over against the table. She tapped Dove on the shoulder and got him to turn around.
"What do you want?" Dove said rudely.
Yang asked in a begging tone while putting her hands together, "Could you like...give me one pancake?"
"No," Dove replied quickly and turned around dismissing the blonde Huntress student.
Yang growled in aggravation. She clenched her fist trying to resist the urge to punch Dove where he sat.
"Just one. I'm not asking for the whole stack!"
"I said no! I like eating my three buttermilk pancakes with no interruptions!"
"Then give me half!"
"Hell no!"
"You no eyed piece of-"
Ren held Yang down as he saw her eyes turn red. "Yang please-"
"Do I smell pancakes?"
This is what Ren dreaded from the moment he saw the pancakes. He looked over to the seat after Yang's to see a fully awakened Nora with her eyes glowing red like a monster. Her mouth was watering non-stop and she licked her lips when she saw Dove's golden pancakes. Noticing the hungry monster that was Nora, Dove took out a knife from his backpack (a knife that was meant for the pancakes) and pointed it at Nora.
"Don't...you...dare…" Dove growled in irritation but at the same time, he was shaking with fear because he knew the strength of Nora Valkyrie.
"I cannot mediate with this much disturbance."
Sitting beside Dove was the towering Yatsuhashi Daichi and he was a second year and a member of Team CFVY. He was crossed-legged in his chair while having his eyes closed and trying to mediate.
"Oh well sorry, but these freakin pigs are trying to steal my food!" Dove hissed.
"Pigs!?" Yang yelled which Ren and Yatsuhashi reacted by shushing her. Professor Oobleck quickly turned his head to see the source of the noise but Yang and everyone else were able to quickly fix themselves and look less suspicious. Oobleck was not fully convinced but he decided to let it go for now.
Once Oobleck stopped looking in their direction, Yang thumped Nora on the shoulder and whispered.
"Let's jump him and steal his pancakes!"
Ren, who heard Yang, held his head down and groaned.
"Please don't…"
"Yeah, let's do it!" Nora whispered back.
Now the two monsters, Yang and Nora, were staring at Dove with fiery eyes and evil grins. Dove gulped aloud and Yatsuhashi simply clapped his hands together and started praying.
"It is best you give up Dove," Yatsuhashi suggested, "Their Auras are spewing with bloodlust and hunger. Against those two at the same time by yourself, you stand no chance."
"I'm with him!" Ren nodded aggressively as he was trying to hold back Yang and Nora from jumping from their seats, "Just give them two of your pancakes or something!"
Dove so wanted to accept those boys' offers but he had a man's pride.
"I made these dang pancakes with my own sweat and tears…" Dove stood up from his seat and held out his knife in a combat stance. "You're gonna have to try your hardest to take them from me!"
"Let's get him!" Yang and Nora roared as they lunged from their seats with Ren flying from behind him because he was still hanging onto their shirts. Dove made a pathetic excuse for a war cry while Yatsuhashi continued to pray for the no-eyed teen to survive at the end.
A few minutes before the Battle for Pancakes started, on the top row were Weiss, Pyrrha, and Blake who were taking out the assignments that they finished.
"How long is your guy's paper?" Blake asked. "I have two pages because I only did four paragraphs."
"I used a smaller font so I only have one paper," Pyrrha answered while looking at her work nervously. "I hope Professor Oobleck accepts this…"
Weiss shrugged, "I know the limit was four but I did five just to be sure."
Blake rolled her eyes, "Of course you did you overachiever."
Weiss huffed, "What's wrong with that!? I think there are some benefits from doing more than initially!"
"Well, I did six paragraphs!"
The temple on Weiss's head twitched with irritation as she turned to the condescending voice on the left side of her. The person who spoke was Sky Lark, the last member of Team CRDL and arguably the smartest.
Weiss scoffed, "Well aren't you an overachiever! Nobody likes that you know!"
"Weiss," Blake looked at her partner in disbelief. "Seriously?"
"Well, it's not my fault your tiny little fingers can't type or write a few more sentences! When it comes to writing I am the master! After all, I had to write sermons for my pastors back at the church I was raised in! Assignments like this are not even a challenge to I, Sky Lark!"
Weiss could not help but chuckle.
"Oh wow~! Great job Lark, you did a good job on an assignment for once in the whole year! May I remind you who is on the top of the "Amazing Grades" list in almost all the first-year classes? Not you that's for sure! It's me~!"
Weiss pointed at herself as she smiled angelically. Sky gritted his teeth.
"Why you...people like you piss me off you know. The only reason you could do the things you do is because of your name and the money you have. Other than that you're nothing!"
Weiss did not even flinch from Sky's insult, she heard it all before.
"Lark," Pyrrha now entered herself into the conservation. "Even though I do admire that you are the only one in Team CRDL that actually does the work when it's due you are still far from being popular when it comes to how you act towards those in and outside of class and, of course, comparing yourself to me and Weiss in grade level."
It was true. Sky knew that was probably in third place when it came to the best grades while Pyrrha took second and Weiss had the first place throne with her snarky smile and Ice Queen crown. This annoyed Sky, the one thing he hated more was being outbested.
"For your information Nikos-"
"PANCAKESSSS!"
*BOOM*
Everyone in the class turned their attention to the bottom seats as they saw a scene that should exist only in a cartoon. Dove was running around the classroom while waving his knife in one hand and a plate of pancakes in the other as Nora clung onto him like a koala while screaming like a maniac. Yang was grabbing onto Nora's shirt screaming as well while Ren was holding onto hers yelling for them to stop.
"FOR THE LOVE OF THE GODS STOP!"
"YOU WILL NEVER WIN!" Dove screeched as he ran up the stairs to the upper desks. Students got out of their seats and moved out of his way. Professor Oobleck yelled to Dove to stop but Nora was hollering into his ear so loud that the teacher's voice was deaf to him.
"What the hell?" Blake said to herself while she observed the bizarre scene.
"Are your teammates on drugs?" Sky raised his eyebrows to the other girls.
"I say your teammate looks even crazier than them," Weiss countered.
Pyrrha continued to watch Dove in interest, "Why is he holding a plate of pancakes?"
"Does that matter?" Sky sighed as he massaged his forehead. "Tell your insane teammates to stop or- DOVE! DON'T COME UP HERE YOU DUMBASS!"
Weiss, Blake, and Pyrrha turned immediately to see the Dove Train heading straight for them. Blake used her semblance to leave a shadow by her seat as she moved, Pyrrha just flipped out of her seat, Weiss used her glyph to move out of the way, and Sky jumped over Dove as he ran into the chairs. Sky jumped way higher than he expected and fell all the way down to the lower desks. He landed right on top of Yatsuhashi and pushed him to the floor.
Yatsuhashi grumbled on the floor as Sky's body was on top of him.
"It was a mistake to think I would get peace and quiet in this class…"
As Dove crashed into the seats the plate of pancakes went flying...and landed right on Ruby's lap.
"Huh?"
"Pancakes?"
Nora and Yang started sniffing around like dogs and could follow the scent of the buttermilk pancakes to Ruby's lap. They stared at Ruby with wide-open grins and a flood of drool from their mouths.
"Oh no…" Ren lifted himself and yelled. "RUBY RUN!"
"AH!"
"PANCAKKKKKKKEEEESSSSS!"
Yang and Nora charged at Ruby but the girl used her semblance and transformed into rose petals as she moved out of the way. However, Cardin and Jaune were not so lucky. Poor Cardin was met with a striking pain in his chest by Nora as she rammed into him with her skull which was strong enough to force his big body onto Jaune, crushing him against the wall. After being slammed against the wall, Jaune then fell over the desk and onto the desk below him which was where Velvet, Coco, and Russel were sitting. Fox reacted fast and saved his teammates by carrying them bridal style and jumping to the desks above as Jaune's limp body fell and crashed onto Russel.
"Thanks for that Fox," Coco said as she fixed her sunglasses.
"Are...are they dead?" Velvet asked as she observed Jaune and Russel's bodies that did not move an inch.
Then on the other side of the classroom, Ruby was hiding behind the very upset-looking Professor Oobleck with the three pancakes on the ground at his feet.
Dove got up from the desks he crashed into and saw the corpses of the pancakes he just made.
"MY FREAKIN BREAKFAST!" Dove cried as he fell to his knees in despair.
"I'm sorry I couldn't save them…" Ruby called out to Dove with a single tear in her eye.
Oobleck fixed his glasses on his face and said, "Before I unleash wrath on Yang Xiao Long and Nora Valkyrie, did everyone finish their essays? I will have them now!"
"Dammit," Ruby, Jaune, and Cardin cursed in their heads. They were hoping that this destruction of his classroom would make him forget.
"Weekends full of essays to write about why I suck at doing my assignments...yay~..." Ruby sighed as she was poking at her food. It was lunchtime and Team RWBY, JNPR, and CFVY were sitting together at the same table.
"Well, next time do the work!" Weiss proclaimed while she folded her arms. "Simple as that."
"REN PLEASE~!" Nora was on her knees begging Ren who was looking at her with a very angry expression. "I PROMISE I WON'T ACT THAT CRAZY AGAIN JUST DON'T PUNISH ME THIS WAY~!"
"No!" Ren hissed at Nora as he shook his head, "I have made up my mind. No pancakes for two weeks! That's what you get for causing a ruckus and throwing me around like a rag doll!"
"THAT WAS YANG!"
"Oh don't worry," Ruby spoke up with a very annoyed look on her face. "I'm going to sell her motorcycle for weapon parts as punishment."
Yang laughed aloud, "Very funny Ruby!"
But Ruby did not laugh back as she continued to poke at her food.
"Heh...Ruby...Ruby, you were joking right?"
"Anyway, do you guys have plans this weekend?" Coco interjected.
"None," Pyrrha replied, "Why?"
"Well, there is this cool club down by Marin Street on the outskirts of Vale. Heard it was crazy down there!"
Blake shrugged, "Sounds cool but I'm no-"
"That got some good food too! Like pizza, calzones, tacos, burritos, fried fish, sliced fish, sushi, oh! And some fish soufflé thing that Yatsuhashi told me abou-"
Blake slammed her hands on the table in front of Coco and looked at the second year straight in the eyes with excitement and drool coming from the side of her mouth.
"You can count me in…" Blake exclaimed with a deep voice that nearly sounded inhuman.
"O-okay…" Coco leaned back from her chair to get away from Blake's golden stare.
"That's a no for me," Jaune groaned while he looked down at the table dejectedly. "It's the weekend with Professor Oobleck and writing…"
"At least we won't be alone…" Ruby replied while resting her cheek on her fist, "Cardin is gonna be there with us too."
"And the good news just keeps coming!" Jaune yelled as she raised his arms in the air and then landed back down with his head moaning in despair. Pyrrha petted his blonde hair like a dog while Ren rubbed his back.
"Not like I'm gonna be enjoying it either."
Everyone at the table turned around to see an unwanted group behind them, Team CRDL.
Cardin stared at the group with a very angry look, Russel just looked like he didn't want to be here, Dove was seething with anger as he stared at Nora and Yang, and Sky was just standing there without any form of interest in anyone.
"What do you want Cardin?" Yang grumbled.
"Shut the hell up Blondie!" Cardin growled, "I'm pissed off! I didn't wanna spend my weekend with this bull!"
"Then maybe next time do the assignment," Blake retorted.
"Maybe next time I should shove my mace up your ass Belladonna, how about that!?"
"You wanna try us?" Yang stood up, her eyes turning red. All of Team CRDL, except for Cardin and Dove, shivered in fear.
"Can we please not do this?" Jaune moaned. "I'm still sore from class."
"You think you're sore Jaune?" Cardin seethed as he pointed at Nora. "That crazy bitch of a teammate of yours rammed her whole empty ass skull into my freakin chest!"
"Empty!?" Nora stood putting her arms to her side. "What are you trying to say!?"
"He is saying you are dumb, you buffoon," Sky replied with a cocky smile.
Weiss rolled her eyes.
"Oh shut up Lark."
"You shut up Schnee!"
"Guys!"
Velvet's yell silenced the group.
"Can we just...calm down and eat?"
But the option of peace was thrown out the window before anyone could make a decision. The reason why was that Cardin grabbed Velvet's ears and pulled her up from her seat as if she were a toy.
"Shut up you damn animal! The humans are talking!" Cardin said while sneering.
"Ow!" Velvet cried.
Everyone stood and directed their pissed-off looks at Cardin. The bully welcomed them with his usual shit-eating grin.
"Cardin!" Coco roared. "Drop Velvet or so help me-"
"Try me!" Cardin chuckled. "What the hell are you gonna-"
The next sequence that happened was way too fast to comprehend. Yang, who activated her semblance, came in swinging with a left hook to Cardin's face. Usually, that would have hit, but Cardin was expecting this.
At that moment red and yellow lights came out of Cardin's back and covered his body. Yang's punch was blocked by the strange light.
"What the-?"
Then the lights whipped forward creating a mighty wind that blew Yang back, crashing her into the other tables at the other side of the cafeteria. She was covered in food and her hair was ruined.
"YANG!" Team RWBY yelled out to their member in worry. Ruby was the first to react as she turned into rose petals and went to her sister's aid.
What happened you may ask? Well, this was the work of Cardin's semblance. His Aura of red and yellow formed the wings of a bird on his back. He stood there looking all glorious as if he was a king. The members of Team CRDL hyped up their leader as he was able to easily dispatch Yang Xiao Long.
"That's what I'm talking about, Cardin!"
"Hell yeah!"
"Let's kick their asses! Revenge for my pancakes!"
Coco cracked her neck and knuckles as she slowly approached Cardin. Yatsuhashi and Fox, who looked menacing as well, came right behind her.
"You asked for it, Winchester..."
The second year stated in a dark tone.
Cardin smirked.
"Bring it, Adel! I ain't gonna-"
What happened next was probably the funniest thing ever. Nora ran up to Cardin who was too busy feeling himself and kicked him right in the balls. The bully doubled over and dropped Velvet.
Velvet tried to escape, but Russel stood in her way. Velvet reacted by fending Russel off with powerful kicks and attacks. While Velvet was dealing with Russel, Coco charged at Cardin, who was still on the ground holding his nuts. But Winchester was quick to recover and flapped both his wings to create a mighty wind to blow food all over the place.
"I'M ABOUT TO TEAR THIS PLACE UP!"
"COME ON THEN!" Coco yelled as she delivered a fist to Cardin's stomach. It hurt without a doubt, but Cardin withstood it and threw some punches back.
Now Dove and Sky saw that they still had the remaining members of Team RWBY, JNPR, and CFVY to worry about.
Sky gulped.
"Well dear, I…"
"FOOD FIGHT!"
Dove screamed like a maniac as he threw a sandwich at Pyrrha's face. Pyrrha was quick to dodge it by ducking, but it hit Jaune who was standing right behind her.
Everyone followed suit to what Dove was doing and picked up any food that could be used as a weapon. Weiss used a swordfish, Blake used sausages, Yang used two chickens, Pyrrha used a breadstick, Nora had a watermelon attached to a metal pole, Ren had two sticks of celery, Coco had a turkey, Velvet had one carrot that she used like a knife, Yatsuhashi used an even bigger loath of bread, Fox had broccoli, Russel had cabbage, Dove had sandwiches for days, Sky had chopsticks, Ruby had cookies, and Cardin had Jaune as he was holding him up and using him as a bat to attack everyone.
"HELP!" Jaune screamed as Cardin spun him around.
"THE HELL!? THAT'S CHEATING!" Nora yelled as she dodged the weapon that was her leader.
"YOU'RE GONNA PAY FOR RUINING MY HAIR CARDIN!"
Yang shouted as charged at the Winged Fighter.
"BRING IT!"
Outside of the cafeteria was another team taking a stroll around Beacon. However, this team was not from Beacon but from Haven Academy in the Kingdom of Mistral. They were known as Team SSSN, a group of handsome-looking men.
The reason this team (and many others) were here was to prepare for the Vytal Festival. But the festival itself was still far away and the boys were going to the academy to meet one of Beacon's teams that they have grown fond of hanging out with. That team would be none other than Team RWBY.
"So Neptune," Sun said while smiling. "You gonna try and shoot your shot with Weiss?"
"Definitely!" Neptune responded with his usually perfect smile. "I really think she likes me! And I saw this amazing coffee place that I'm sure she would be into. But I want you to bring Blake with you as well."
"You wanna make it a double date? No way man those are awkward! Plus, I don't even know if Blake would wanna go!"
"Come on dude, at least give it a try!"
"If they're just here to ask out some girls then why are we here?" Scarlet asked Sage.
Sage replied, "Moral support if they get denied."
"Hey!" Both Sun and Neptune yelled while Sage turned away whistling.
*BAG* *CRASH* *BOOM*
"...What the hell was that?" Sage asked as he heard those loud noises coming from the cafeteria.
Right on cue, the cafeteria doors busted open with almost a hundred students running out in fear for their lives.
Sun and Neptune looked at each other.
"You don't think…"
"I mean...possibly…"
"HOLY SHIT!"
The four boys turned from the door to see Dove flying out and screaming for his life. Dove collided with Scarlet and the two boys were sent flying into the grass of the courtyard.
"Woah," Sage exclaimed as he saw his partner get launched.
"Where…"
Walking out of the cafeteria like a whole monster was Yang with her red eyes burning intensely.
"WHERE IS THAT FLEABAG DOVE!?"
"RIGHT HERE YOU CRAZY BLONDE PSYCHO!"
Dove quickly got up from the ground, but he was holding the unconscious Scarlet like a shield.
"Hey!" Sun yelled. "What the heck are you doing bro!?"
"I'MMA MURDER YOU!"
Yang launched at Dove who quickly dodged her and ran back into the cafeteria while carrying Scarlet. The enranged blonde girl did not waste any time and threw herself back into the building like the wild dragon she was.
Without any time to process what just happened, the remaining members of Team SSSN ran into the cafeteria as well to rescue their poor buddy.
And as they entered, what they truly saw was hell on earth.
The cafeteria had food and holes all over the place and Teams RWBY, JNPR, CFVY, and CRDL were still fighting like maniacs.
Cardin was dealing with both Coco and Nora who were giving him a good run for his money. But Coco and Nora were having trouble as well thanks to Cardin's powerful attacks, his great defense thanks to his wings, and using Jaune as a weapon.
"I…*huff*...never usually use this semblance because it takes out half my Aura in one go!...but you guys seriously pissed me off today!" Cardin roared as he swung Jaune like a bat.
"Somebody...help…" Jaune cried out weakly.
On the other side of the cafeteria, Ruby had Russel in a choke hold while Sky was battling both Weiss and Blake at the same time.
"Get the frick off!" Russel growled as he tugged on Ruby's hair.
"Ow! Watch it!" Ruby cried.
"Back off Schnee!" Sky screamed as he threw one of his chopsticks. Weiss reflected it with her swordfish while Blake swung her sausages at Sky's head. One millisecond in time, Sky was able to backflip from Blake's attack and hold up his last chopstick like a knife.
But he forgot about one person.
"Hey."
Feeling a hand on his shoulder, Sky turned around to see Ren with a not-so-very-amused look on his face and a celery stick.
"Shit-" was the last word Sky got out before Ren uppercut him with his celery weapon.
And finally, there was Dove who was being chased by Yang, Pyrrha, Fox, and Yatsuhashi. They launched as many attacks at him as they could but Scarlet made a very good shield.
"MY PANCAKES WILL BE AVENGED!" Dove roared. "FEEL THE WRATH OF THE BUTTERMILK!"
"FEEL THE WRATH OF MY FIST UP YOUR ASS!" Yang roared back as she charged at him.
"HA! JOKES ON YOU, I'M INTO THAT SHIT!" Dove replied as he once again used Scarlet to block Yang's powerful chicken punch.
"I'm gonna snap his neck," Fox said as he moved quicker than a shadow to get behind Dove.
Yatsuhashi stopped the chase, putting is arms to the side, and sighed.
"This is getting ridiculous."
Pyrrha, who stopped next to the big second-year, smiled and said, "Ridiculous but fun right?"
"Just ridiculous."
Sun, Neptune, and Sage stared at the scene in awe.
"Wow...I WANNA JOIN!" Sage roared as he threw himself right into the battlefield.
"WHAT THE HELL SAGE!?" Sun screamed as he ran after him.
"Imma just...stay here," Neptune stated as he sat down at one of the tables.
"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE!?"
Everyone stopped their fighting as they heard the voice of the woman they dreaded. They turned around to see her in her majesty-Glynda Goodwitch, one of the professors at Beacon Academy. And she stood with absolute authority over the students as she crossed her arms.
"M-Miss Goodwitch!"
Cardin smiled sheepishly as he dropped Jaune, deactivated his semblance, and rubbed the back of his head shyly.
The other students followed suit as they dropped their weapons and tried to look as innocent as possible. Of course, it was not working.
Glynda took out her weapon, the Disciplinarian which was a thin, black riding crop with a simple black and purple design on the handle. Pointing it directly upwards she activated her semblance and put the entire cafeteria back to what it was before as if the fight between RWBY, JNPR, CFVY, and CRDL did not happen.
"All of you," Glynda snarled. "Come with me...now."
"Y-yes ma'am…" Ruby bowed as she followed the angry professor.
Weiss folded her arms in annoyance and Blake sighed to herself. Yang was giggling nervously as Pyrrha walked behind her carrying the weak Jaune. Nora whined to Ren but the boy blocked her out as he knew there was no way out of this mess.
"This is all your fucking fault, Cardin," Coco snarled.
Cardin rolled his eyes, "Screw you."
"Just stop it already…" Velvet murmured while hiding behind Yatsuhashi.
"I believe this food fight will go down in Beacon history," Fox stated nonchalantly.
"I believe my jaw will be aching for a week," Sky complained as he rubbed his now-red chin. "Not even my Aura is doing a good job fixing this."
"My pancakes will be avenged...one day…" Dove whispered to himself as he trailed behind with killer intent.
Russel, who walked alongside Dove, shouted, "Just shut up!"
With that, the entire cafeteria was left spotless with Team SSSN being the only students left.
"So...what do we do now?"
"You are Team SSSN right?"
Glynda came back into the cafeteria, staring at the boys with a stern look.
"Y-yes?" Sun answered while feeling a little nervous under the strict teacher's stare.
"You will be coming too."
"WHAT!?" Sun, Neptune, and Sage yelled aloud (Scarlet was still unconscious).
"But we didn't do anything!"
"We literally just got here!"
"They used our guy as a damn shield!"
"ENOUGH!" Glynda shouted which silenced the boys.
"I will not repeat myself!"
Hanging their heads low the members of Team SSSN followed Glynda to the Headmaster's office.
"Somehow your guys' antiques got us in trouble too!" Sun growled while talking to Blake.
Blake shrugged, "Sorry."
"My head is still spinning," Scarlet said as he regained consciousness.
Sage, who was carrying Scarlet by the shoulder, laughed a little and said, "Well buddy looks like your head is gonna spin a little more from the lecture we are about to get."
"Damn," Scarlet replied as his head drooped.
"Damn indeed," replied Jaune who was now walking on his two feet again. "I already got Professor Oobleck's detention. Forget about not having a weekend, I won't have a whole week!"
"I'm still hungry!" Nora whined. "I didn't eat any of the food before we fought!"
"Hey Velvet," Yang called out to the bunny faunus. "Where were you during the whole thing?"
"Hiding under a table," Velvet answered while fiddling with her fingers.
"Yeah, after you kicked the shit out of me and stabbed me with a carrot!" Russel shouted.
"You deserved it," Weiss replied immediately.
"You wanna go Ice Queen?!"
"Excuse me!"
Everyone stopped their bickering and turned to Glynda who stood in front of Headmaster Ozpin's door.
"O-okay look Miss Goodwitch," Coco started. "Before anything, I just wanna say...that this was all Cardin's fault and he should be the only one who gets punished."
"Yep~!"
Everyone except for the members of Team CRDL gave Glynda a thumbs up. Cardin growled in irritation.
Glynda shook her head as she sighed.
"You are all not in trouble."
"...Huh?" Ruby tilted her head in confusion. "We're not?"
"No, Professor Ozpin has something important to discuss with you, all of you."
The young students stared at each other with confusion and back at Glynda with the same look.
"W-what is it?" Jaune asked.
"You are about to find out Mr. Arc."
Glynda opened the door and the teams entered Ozpin's office. Three individuals were waiting for them inside.
One was the obvious answer which would be Ozpin himself who was sitting by his desk. The second was General Ironwood who stood right by his right corner. The third person was a new face to everyone else, but Ruby and Weiss had met her in the mall yesterday. She was a slender, well-endowed, and silver-eyed young woman with short light green hair and fringes framing her face. She wore a green dress with thin green straps, gold bands on her arms with frog eyes on them, and red beads wrapped around her ankles. Strapped to her waist was a leather belt with a sheath for a one-handed sword.
As the teams were fully inside of the room, the young woman bowed at their presence.
"It is wonderful to meet you, Huntsmen of Vale. I am Tiana Silverline, the Princess of Aurora. It is wonderful to meet you."

I was thinking about changing this chapter but ultimately kept it the same. I love how ridiculously insane everyone is.
By the way, Cardin's semblance is made up by me and I call it "Wings of Freedom". When he activates it, wings appear behind and he can pretty much use them for defense or to actually fly. He barely uses the semblance because it takes out half his hour and he can only be in that state for twenty minutes. The rest of Team CRDL's semblances will be revealed later in the story.
