Many hours later in the den humphrey kate and grace were sitting togther talking about how humphrey and grace met at the mud slide.
almost an hour later humphrey decided to bring up the delima of staying here in idaho or if it would be better to go back to jasper park
Kate— so humphrey what do you think about going back to jasper everyone is waiting on our return and we can be togther now that the law is abolished i mean you do want to go home dont you?
humphrey—well im not shure, its a long journey back and im not tied down i never had anything there to worry about loosing.
Its not like i have a family i been alone since i was a pup. i could start new here but i know you do not want to leave your family.
kate— yeah id like to be close with my mom , dad , and sis but if you want to stay then we can, i dont want to loose you again.
so ill let you choose ill still be with you no matter the choice .
humphrey—(sighs) i guess we can go back but i will make no promises to stay , ok
grace— yay! i get to see where you grew up at and met your friends.
humphrey- yup! we can have some fun too me and my buddies made up a cool game and i cant wait to teach it too you!
grace—hey um .. well i wanted to ask if …you know….i ..i..c…c..could call..yo…y..you..dad?
humphrey (shocked)— yes!..yes you shure can call me dad id be honored for you to call me that
humphrey gave grace a loving hug and whisper to her ''i love you you. ill always be he to protect yo''.
grace whisperd back ''i love you too dad and i know you will never abandon me''.
with that all three wolves decided it was time to get some sleep'
with morning rays shining into humphreys eyes he is the first one up , his throat wound is in a burning pain and his poor broken ribs are yelling to him to lay back down , and humphrey could feel that at least three ribs are broken but he knows the girls will be hungry when ther wake up so he decids to go hunting'.
in the open field humphrey spotted a deer and waited for a perfect moment to attack after almost five min he seen an oppurtunity and pounced grabbing on to its neck the deer thrashed aroungd naking his own injured throat and ribs feel like he was going to keel over and die but he had to work past the gut wrenching pain after amost sixty seconds the deer finnialy quit moving so humphrey started the long haul back too the den with the deer.
back at the deen the girls were just waking up when they heard humphrey grunting in pain outside do they both ran out to him only to see he was dragging what looked to be a two hundred and fifty pounds.
humphrey droped the deer and spoke '' good morning to you both i thought you two might be hungry so i went out hunting … now lets eat cuz i know im starving.''
after eating their fill the three wolved made thier way to the train tracks to wait on the next train going to jasper park.
