Chapter 1-4: My Battery's at 100%
Soon, Grim notices, "Check it out, here comes Cater! Heeey!"
"There he is! Morning, Cater!" Kalim happily says.
"Ah, we've run into more of our party before even arriving at the Mirror Chamber. So far so good," Jamil says, "Good morning, Cater. Glad to have you with us."
"What's up, peeps! Is this the perfect weather for our vacation or what?" Cater happily says.
"But we don't know what the weather'll be like over there," Grim replies.
"Oh, yes we do!" Carter says as he holds out his phone, "I looked it up on my phone. It's nice and clear in the Scalding Sands too! I'm gonna get MAD PICS today. My battery's at 100%, and I made sure to pack a portable charger!"
"Who did you end up inviting?" Jamil asks.
"Ooh, curious, are you? Okay, time for the big reveal!" Cater says.
He then announces, "Give it up for the super rad fellow chosen to vay-cay with Cay-Cay!"
And soon, Trey walks over.
With a sheepish smile, Trey says, "Could you please not build me up like that?"
"You invited Trey!" Kalim says happily.
"Huh, no surprises there," Grim replies.
Trey then says, "Morning, Kalim. Jamil. Thanks for having me."
"I thought Trey would jump at the chance to visit the Scalding Sands, and guess what? I was right!" Cater says.
And Trey says, "I've heard about several unique confections there and wanted to try some for myself. I'd never pass up the chance to seek out fresh inspiration for my unbirthday party desserts."
"I'm sure there'll be plenty for you to appreciate," Jamil says, "Our hometown has a lot of food carts that specialize in different regional cuisines and desserts."
"I can't wait. And if you've got any recommendations, I'm all ears. You're a great cook yourself, so anything you endorse has got to be good," Trey says.
"Sure, I can show you some of my favorite restaurants," Jamil says.
"Now we're just waiting for Lilia, right? Did we ever find out who he invited?" Trey says.
"He said he wouldn't spoil the surprise. He also mentioned expanding someone's 'social horizons.'" Kalim says.
"If we consider the people Lilia tends to hang out with, it's likely someone from Diasomnia," Jamil says.
"Probably Silver, then?" Trey suggests.
"Oh yeah, for sure. Lils loves spoiling him!" Cater happily says, "That'd explain the 'social horizons' thing too. He's always taking it upon himself to teach Silver something or other."
"True, but it feels like most of what he's teaching him is utter nonsense…" Trey says.
"Yeah, I do see them together a lot," Kalim says.
"It's just about time. We should hurry over to the Mirror Chamber," Jamil says.
