Chapter 15 Wardrobe and Perception

It had been a few days after the battle of Los Angeles and Susan and the monsters were hanging at the base. It would be a few more days until a proper living quarters was built and setup for Susan in her hometown, so she was staying at the base. Susan contacted her parents and told them she would see them very soon. The base staff had installed a tv in the monster's break room and had even given the monsters a computer with a secure Internet connection. The monsters were thrilled with their new entertainment devices and Link and B.O.B spent a good deal of time looking at fail videos. Susan used the tv to check out all the new stations and paid close attention to any story regarding the battle of Los Angeles.
Many of the stories were about the property damage sustained in the especially the Golden Gate Bridge. This made Susan feel guilty, but gave her a brilliant idea.
The next day Elastigirl showed up at the base along with Winston Deavor and Edna Mode, both of whom were excited and thrilled to meet the monsters.
"Hey there's the heroes who helped saved the world!" Said Winston as he shook the monsters' hands and Susan's finger.
"You're not at all creeped or freaked out by us?" Asked Link.
"Of course not! You all helped save the world and Elastigirl vouched for you, so that makes you all great in my book! And I'm here to help show the rest of the world how great you are." Said Winston.
"That's great and all, but how exactly do you plan to do that?" Asked Dr. Cockroach.
"We just have to change the public's perception of you. Show everyone there's more to you then meets the eye. We do that by having you go out and do some public and do some good deeds for everyone to see. Clean up disasters. Help old ladies across the street. Save cats from trees. Stop a robbery or crime. Stop a super villain. All these things will show the public you're good and they have nothing to fear." Said Winston.
"I like the sound of that." Said Link and B.O.B and Dr. Cockroach agreed.
"Sounds good. I think we should start by helping clean up the Golden Gate Bridge damage." Said Susan.
"Good place to start. I like the way you think." Said Winston.
"Thanks." Said Susan.
The monsters were excited. Susan turned to Edna.
"I originally wanted to see about getting a wedding dress made, but now I think I want you to make me a swimsuit. Is that a problem?" Said Susan.
"Not at all darling, I see where you are going with this. I just need to take some measurements and I'll whip you up something marvelous." Said Edna.
"Thank you." Said Susan.
The monsters were on their way to changing people's perception of them.
