Chapter 17 Robbery Foiled

The cleanup of San Francisco continued on with the aid of the volunteer workers, military, the heroes, and the monsters. Susan had done a large amount of work and had worked up a bit of a sweat. She had heard that there was a lot of junk and debris in the water from the battle at the bridge that needed to be cleared out. Susan knew just what to do and had Edna make her a special outfit for this kind of job.
Susan headed over to the bay and began to remove her shoes before she began to remove her jumpsuit to reveal she was wearing a black one-piece swimsuit underneath. She folded up her clothes and set them on the ground next to her shoes before she turned and gave a little wave to all the other workers who stared at her in awe and wonder. Susan carefully lowered herself into the water and began to swim to the bridge. It was a very easy swim for Susan due to her size and strength and it only took her a couple of minutes to reach the bridge. Once she reached it Susan took a deep breath and dove underwater. She swam down and located some large chunks of concrete and meta at the bottom. Susan picked them up with ease and headed back to the surface, where she located a barge boat to put them on.
The crew of the barge boat were surprised at the sight of Susan, who gave them a friendly wave as she loaded the junk onto the boat. Susan dove back down to collect more junk.
As all that was going on there was a loud rumbling coming from downtown as a massive forty foot drilling machine burst out from the ground near one of the the cities largest banks. The machine was a creation of a super villain know as the Underminer who had his sights set on the bank. The drill tore through the bank and the vault door. The Underminer stepped out of the machine with a large vacuum sucker tube and began to suck up the money. Soon there was no more money in the vault.
"Now that's what I call a payday!" Laughed the Underminer as he jumped back into his drill.
The drill smashed out of the bank and Susan, Link, and Dr. Cockroach took notice of this. Susan and Link swam quickly to shore and Dr. Cockroach quickly crafted another rocket trolley to race over to the bank. Susan reached shore and got out of the water as the drilling machine prepared to burrow back into the ground and escape.
"You're not going anywhere!" Yelled Susan as she dug her feet into the ground and grabbed the back of the drilling machine jerking it back.
The drilling machine groaned and struggled as it tried to break free. Link and Dr. Cockroach arrived on the scene and quickly crawled onto the drilling machine. They located a hatch and entered the machine.
"Stop and surrender mole man!" Yelled Link as he pointed at Underminer.
"No chance fish face." Said Underminer as he raised his fists and charged at the two monsters.
Link met Underminer's charge and the two of them began to grapple as Dr. Cockroach raced past to the controls and shut the machine down. Underminer and Link wrestled back and forth and it seemed that their strength was evenly matched. Link decided to change strategy and fell onto his back and kicked his legs up into the Underminer's gut sending him flying up and crashing into the celling of the machine. The villain fell back towards the ground and Link uppercutted him and knocked him to the ground in a unconscious heap.
Link picked up the Underminer and he and Dr. Cockroach exited the machine, where a crowd of people had gathered and cheered for the three monsters as the Underminer was handed over to some of the soldiers. The monsters were seen as heroes again in the public eye.
