Chapter 18 Growing Fame

After the Monsters foiled the Underminer's robbery their fame and popularity began to grow and people actually started to stop fearing them because of their appearances and see them as heroes. With help from Winston and DevTech the Monsters continued to improve their image to the public as well as thwart many crimes by both criminals and super villains. It was great! The Monsters would also do team ups with the Incredibles and other Supers. Susan was the most popular of the Monsters, but the public loved them all.
As Susan's popularity grew, so did Derek's popularity. Derek was ranking in the fame, money, and attention with book deals, interviews, and several major news outlets in America wanted him. It was a dream come true and it was all thanks to Susan. Susan's giant height and heroic deeds made her incredibly popular and she was easily the most beloved female superhero on the planet. Derek was riding that fame to the top.
Derek would admit a little that he was jealous and a little uneasy about Susan's hight, power, and popularity, but he knew as long as he stayed on Susan's good side and played his cards right there were no limits to where he could go. Derek still loved Susan to a degree, but it was more to what he could get from his relationship with Susan then Susan herself.
Susan was unaware about Derek using her and continued to love him and talk about getting married. The upcoming marriage between Susan was the talk of the country. Susan was hopeful that one of the many scientists studying her condition would figure out a way to shrink her down or help her figure out how to change her size before the wedding, but if that didn't happen Susan had Edna working on making a wedding dress to fit her giant frame. Edna was more then happy to do that.
The military had constructed Susan a makeshift home that resembled a large aircraft hanger a few miles from her parents home complete with a large automatic doors, a bed, and a working bathroom. It wasn't too homey, but Susan liked it and appreciated it.
Days went by and the wedding grew closer and closer. It was a peaceful day at the military base, until they got a whole lot of alerts from Hollywood about a strange giant robot going on a rampage. A call was made to both the Supers and the Monsters and both teams headed out to deal with the threat.
