Over a Pillar Bridge and Through an Icy Path
The exploration team are continuing through the path Oscar and Sun are finding through the journal and seeing some clues of the Golden Monkey of Atlantis, meaning they are going in the right direction and thankfully not stumble onto any traps so far.
"Hey, is it weird that we haven't stumble upon any booty traps along the way?" Sun asked Aladdin as the team are taking a break.
"You think that going through some ancient underground paths would at least have some arrows flying or trap doors opening under us." Aladdin stated.
"Well, if you ask me, I am glad we haven't run into any of those traps because I think that Leviathan attack was enough for me." Oscar said while drinking a canteen.
"I always lost one of my nine lives from that experience." Neon said shaking in fear of the memory.
"It's okay, no one is going to hurt you." Oscar petted Neon's head making her purr.
"I can never get over of how cute your purring is." Ruby giggled.
Rajah saw this and rolled his eyes thinking it's not a big deal with humans wanting to listen to come cats purring, but then he started purring when Jasmine pets him.
"Hey Oscar, isn't that canteen from Yang's stuff?" Aladdin asked.
"Yeah, she was nice enough to let me drink from this." Oscar answered with a nod.
"Oh, dude, I think that might have been one of those liquid things for bombing." Aladdin warned.
"The what now?" Oscar shocked of confusion.
"I don't know bomb stuff, but I think that's dangerous for humans to drink." Aladdin said.
"Hold on, what's going to happen to me?" Oscar started to panic.
"Don't worry, Oscar! I'll go get Yang and see what she knows!" Ruby quickly dashed to where Yang is right now.
"Wait! What should I do in the mean time!" Oscar asked fearing for his life.
"I guess the only thing you could is try not to move." Aladdin shrugged hiding a smirk.
"Okay, don't move. I can do that. I won't move an inch." Oscar proclaimed though sweating lot that he might explode.
"Boo!" Mole popped out from behind Oscar making him jump.
Mole and Aladdin laugh together while Oscar catches his soon realizing that it was all a prank from both of them, Neon pouted in anger and threw some pebbles at them though they didn't hurt much.
"Dude, I love a good joke as much as the next guy. But even I wouldn't go for something that far." Sun stated.
"Come on, you got to admit it was funny." Aladdin laughed a bit more.
"Oh, so you think that was funny?" Elm smirked cracking her knuckles as she stands right behind Aladdin and Mole.
"Oh, hehehe… Hello there, muscle woman." Mole chuckled nervously.
In the next five seconds, Aladdin and Mole are seen with their face planted onto the ground with little cracks around them including large lumps on their heads.
"You two do remember that I'm supposed to be protecting one of them!" Elm angered.
"Whoa, whoa, easy there! I'm sure they didn't mean any harm, right guys?" Oscar turned to the defeated pranking duo.
"Yeah, no harm done." Aladdin said.
"Wee, wee, all is good…" Mole said before the two went unconscious.
"You know, Sun. This reminds me of the time you did a similar prank to my uncle when he came visiting with my father." Jasmine recalled.
"Hey, how was I supposed to know that he was allergic tomatoes that made his skin all pink and puffy." Sun defended himself.
"Thank the gods that he didn't kill you." Jasmine chuckled.
"Okay everyone, Commander says break time is over! Let's get going!" Sweet announced.
"Hey Oscar, I just found from Yang that it is normal water and…" Ruby paused her sentence when she saw Aladdin and Mole face-first on the ground.
"Oh, never mind." Ruby said.
Everyone packed up their things and into their vehicles making their way through the path again for another travel to the lost city of Atlantis, but unknow to them there are figures hiding within the shadows and two of them have stop looking at the strange metal things with the people in them.
Sun looks over his shoulder in the distance looking at one direction.
"Hey, everything okay?" Elm asked.
"Yeah, just thought I felt something. Nothing to worry about though." Sun assured.
As the group travels through the path while getting through some obstacles along the way, Sun and Oscar would see some opportunities to help the others like with Sun helping one of his dirty boots back and Oscar helping Vine checking out some of his personal equipment. Even during dinner time, Oscar would always be in his own private quarter to study up on the Atlantis journal making sure they are going on the right path, and not go into a path with a giant bug again.
Ruby and Neon are always spending time with Oscar to make sure he isn't feeling lonely and though it was embarrassing at first, he gotten used to it and doesn't mind the two girls cuddling onto him.
Then they came across a giant pillar with one BIG gap on the other side.
"Man, Atlantis really like to go all out with their arts and stuff." Jasmine commented.
"No kidding, the size of this pillar is unimaginable that I doubt our modern technology could make something like that fast! It got to be like one or two miles high!" Oscar amazed.
"So, how long was this made are we talking about?" Sienna asked.
"I say about hundreds, no, thousands of years at best!" Oscar guessed the amount of time to make this pillar.
"Quite impressive pillar, bet it would make a good bridge." Yang smirked as she set her bombs on the pillar.
"Why, it would." Oscar agreed until he realize what Yang just said.
"Wait, what?" Oscar gasped.
"Sorry, Oscar, but we need a way to get to the other side of this gap and none of our vehicles are made for flying." Ruby pointed out.
"Unless their transformers in disguises." Neon joked.
"But, but, but…" Oscar wanted to tell them to not do it.
"Sorry, buddy, but this pillar is gonna have to take it for the team." Sun pulled Oscar away as Yang finish with the setups.
"Time for a Timber Explosion!" Yang shouted and pulled down the leverage making the bombs exploded on the bottom of the pillar making it fall backward landing on the other side.
"Now that's how you make a bridge." Sun grinned.
"Thanks, only took like ten seconds flat." Yang bragged.
"I'm glad you're on our side and not a bank robber." Jasmine pleaded.
"Yeah, bank robber." Yang chuckled nervously as everyone got back to their cars.
Oscar stood at the spot where the giant pillar once stood now being use as a bridge, still shock of what just happened though he knew the others were right about keep moving forward and all but couldn't move until Rajah came up to him from behind grab his shirt with his mouth dragging him back to the others.
"Hey Sun, I think you should start putting on some warmer clothes. I think the next area we'll be heading into will be cold." Jasmine said handing him a coat, but Sun brush it away.
"Jasmine, please. We're deep underground and at the center is the core, which is very hot, so I'm sure we'll be finding ourselves in a hot place." Sun believed putting on a pair of sunglasses.
As the exploration team continue down the pillar now bridge path, the same mysterious figures are seeing dashing through the shadows from the higher view, and the two of them watch them from afar.
(One Hour Later)
"Fucking God, it's cold!" Sun screamed while shaking from the cold of the snowy underground area the exploration team are traveling through the snow.
"Told you so." Jasmine smiled in victory and help Sun put on the coat.
"Huh, not a fan of the cold, are you?" Elm asked.
"N-N-Nope." Sun answered shivering.
"Sun was born into a warm weather environment and always been into the hot stuff, he doesn't mind the cold though only the small stuff." Jasmine explained.
"Well, don't worry about that any longer because the open path is just over there." Oscar pointed at the open gate.
Suddenly Sun started hearing something odd though feel peaceful from his soul, he looks around trying to see where that voice was coming from until he stopped looking at one direction.
"Come."
Sun didn't know why, but his instincts are telling him to trust that voice and he slowly stands up.
"Sun, is everything alright?" Jasmine asked.
But Sun didn't reply and just jump off the truck running toward to where he is hearing the voice coming from.
"Sun!" Jasmine called out worry.
"Everyone, stop!" Oscar alerted everyone through the walkie-talkie.
"What's going on, why are we stopping?" Jafar asked.
"Sun just suddenly ran off for some reason and is hiding uphill, I'm not sure what's going on with him though it may have something to do with being the Golden Monkey of Atlantis or something." Oscar explained.
"Well, bring him back! We can't continue this journey if we don't have both you and Sun to get through the path safely." Jafar ordered.
"Way ahead of you. Rajah!" Jasmine looked at her tiger companion as he nods removing the warm coat from his body.
Jasmine quicky jumps onto Rajah's back and they run off after Sun as Elm and Oscar quickly follows them from behind.
Sun kept on following the strange voice for dozens of more feet up on the snowy hill hoping to find whatever it is not trying to kill them like with the leviathan, but it was stopped when Sun presented himself to the giant killing machine. Still a bit shock about himself being somehow connect to the Golden Monkey of Atlantis, he always thought he was awesome before, but this is on a whole new level of awesomeness.
"Huh?" Sun spotted something at the top and climb a little higher.
It was then he came upon a statue of a humanoid monkey with gold linings on the body and golden eyes with one hand hold out like it wants a high-five or something.
"Huh, I thought I would find something a little cooler than the snow." Sun joked.
"Hands for eyes." The mysterious voice said in Sun's head.
"Okay, that's weird." Sun said to himself then he finds himself walking toward the statue.
He didn't know if this was a good thing or he might set off a booty trap that could get him kill, yet there is this weird feeling inside telling him that everything is going to be okay, and his instincts has never steered him wrong before. Well, maybe sometimes like with Jasmine's car into that theater and other things he done, but deep down he knew that there might be something good from this.
"Heh, I'm sure nothing will go wrong with a little high-five." Sun shrugged and placed his hand onto the hand of the statue.
Immediately, his body started to glow golden like before and his eyes became pure white as the statue glows with him with the golden eyes glowing white too, the golden glow is bright enough for the whole exploration team to see it.
"Oscar, does journal say anything about that glow?" Jasmine asked.
"I'm not sure, but I think it's something only the Golden Monkey could find." Oscar said while looking through the pages.
"It's not going to be another giant robot attack, is there?" Elm asked keeping up her guard and ready herself.
"I don't think so, but we better move fast in case that does happen." Jasmine ordered and Rajah hurry to the top.
Once the three people and one tiger make their way to where Sun is, the golden light is brighter than from a distance as they shielded their eyes from the light though they were able to see Sun there with a monkey statue.
"Sun, are you okay?" Jasmine called out.
Sun didn't respond as he still appears to be in a trace with the statue, he can feel something from within his soul while also seeing some visions like men riding what appears to be flying fishes and a giant wave bigger than a big city and a strange glow from the center above the city. Sun couldn't make out of what he was seeing though he gets the feeling that it feels familiar for some reason, then he heard a voice again from a mystical voice.
"Return and Raise Atlantis once more."
The golden glow finally stops, and Sun separate his hand from the statue though notices that the golden eyes are gone like they vanished from thin air, and just when he took a step back the statue suddenly cracked and crumble into pieces.
"Okay, that was weird." Sun said.
"Sun!" Jasmine jumped at him from behind, feeling her giant breasts pressed onto his back, then Rajah jumped onto them causing them to fall.
"Man, do you guys want to dog pile on the monkey." Sun chuckled.
"You had us worry when you run off like that, then we saw with that statue glowing all gold for a while." Jasmine said.
"Sorry, it just I heard a strange voice which led me to that state, and I saw something strange." Sun gestured to the now destroyed statue.
"Was the state a monkey with gold lines and eyes?" Oscar asked showing him the picture of the statue in the journal.
"Yeah, that's it!" Sun surprised.
"According to the Shepherd's Journal, the statue is to help the Golden Monkey find his way through the path and give him a special gift to prevent him from choosing the wrong path." Oscar explained.
"Wow, then I must really be the Golden Monkey if the statue glowed like that." Sun amazed.
"What about the strange things you saw?" Elm asked.
"I'm not sure, all I men riding one flying fishes, I think they were fishes. Then I saw a giant wave shadowing an entire city and there was a glowing ball thing in the sky, but that's all I got." Sun explained.
"Hmm, I think what you saw was the destruction of Atlantis itself." Oscar theorized.
"Whoa, you think I did?" Sun asked surprise.
"I'm not entirely sure, but it's definitely a possibility." Oscar said.
"You can think about more along the way, we have a whole team waiting for us back down." Elm reminded them.
"Right, we better get going." Sun nodded.
"Just promise me you won't run off like that again without telling us about it." Jasmine stated.
"Promise." Sun said kissing her on the lips.
They made their way back to the group and got moving as they get closer to the open path for the next area to explore, but Oscar is looking up and down between the Shephard's Journal and the open path.
"Hope my little detour won't set us back." Sun said.
"I'm sure it hasn't, but this is strange." Oscar said it out loud.
"What do you mean?" Sun asked.
"Well, in the journal there's supposed to be three path we have to choose, but I'm only seeing one." Oscar mentioned showing him the drawing.
"Huh, that is odd." Sun rubbed his chin.
Then his eyes started to glow gold and saw everything dark blue then saw something gold glowing right next to the path on the left.
"Hey, I think I see something under that snow." Sun pointed out.
"Wait, you do?" Oscar asked.
"Yeah, I don't how, but everything else I see it's dark blue and one gold glow next to the path." Sun weirded out by this a little.
"Huh, if that's the case. We're gonna need something hot for the snow." Oscar said picking up the walkie-talkie.
Soon, Yang and Sun walked together to the left side from the open path carrying a big flamethrower.
"Better be careful because things are about to get hot." Yang warned with a grin.
"Really? Because I thought the hot thing was down here." Sun smirked and grab onto Yang's butt making her yelp in surprise.
"Dang, you really want me in your harem, don't you?" Yang smiled blushing.
"Only because I gotten to know more of your fiery awesomeness throughout this journey." Sun winked.
"Okay, let just get serious now." Yang said.
Both started up the flamethrower unleashing a large fire onto the snow melting it in seconds revealing another path, this surprises the two and melt the snow on the other side showing the third open path.
"So, there is more than one path." Jafar surprised.
"Okay monkey boy, which one do we take?" Helga asked.
Sun looks at the three path and his eyes glow golden again and see a golden stream going into the open path on the left.
"That way!" Sun pointed the way.
"Amazing, this must be the gift that was mentioned in the book!" Jasmine amazed as Sun feels pretty proud of himself.
