Offering to Stay with Learning Much More
Sun and Kashekim stare at each other for what feels like hours which is actually a few seconds before the king of Atlantis turns to the other outsiders, the blonde monkey-Faunus gets a little bad feeling about what he is about to say.
"I thank you strangers for bringing our city its guardian again, but now I will ask you all to leave Atlantis at once." Kashekim demanded with a tap of his staff on the ground.
"Oh boy…" Oscar worried and Jafar steps forward.
"Come now, your majesty, we have come such a long way to find Atlantis though I admit we were not expecting to find people still alive and living here." Jafar said as he bows.
"I know what others like you seek and you will not find it here." Kashekim glared at Jafar.
"You speak as if we have come here for ill-reason, but I can assure you that we are peaceful explorers who only wish to share and spread history to others. Some are even men of science as well." Jafar stated.
"You call yourselves peaceful, yet you carry weapons onto your bodies." Kashekim noticed the weapons on some of them with his old yet sharp eyes.
"Your highness, they are only for self-defense. We do not wish to bring harm onto others." Oscar said.
"And trust me when I say this that we almost were sent to Hell a couple of times like facing the Leviathan at the entrance in the tunnel. There was this giant bug monster we almost got caught, some difficult paths that could kill anyone who are not prepare. And there were some killer fireflies while we were camping." Sun listed the things the crew went through before coming here.
"Don't forget the giant hole we were dropped in." Sweet mentioned.
"What he says." Sun snapped and pointed his finger at Sweet.
"Kashekim, perhaps we should let these outsiders rest in our city and let them see how we live our lives here." Willow suggested.
"She's right, those people don't mean any harm and the Golden Monkey can keep them in check since he has been with them the entire time." Kali added.
"All we want is to study your culture so we can feel like we're closer to you and share them with the rest of the world." Oscar said.
"We have also lost most of your supplies during the fall throughout the journey, at least let us regain our strength and rebuild our supplies as well." Jafar added pointing out.
Kashekim still hesitate to let them stay as he glaze upon Jafar sensing something hidden within that man, then felt a hand touch his shoulder as he turns looking at Sun.
"Look, I can tell you're not fond of strangers and all, but this would also be a good opportunity to learn what has been going on in the surface world and would be cool to make some new friends." Sun stated.
"Please, your highness, grant us this chance to see what Atlantis is like up close." Jasmine said bowing to him again.
Kashekim gently removes Sun's hand from his shoulder and sat back down on his throne/couch letting out a heavy sigh.
"Does the surface world still have the moon?" Kashekim asked.
"We do, and I believe the next full moon is in twenty days from now." Oscar answered.
"Very well, you all twenty days then once that time is up, you will return to your world and never speak of this place again." Kashekim offered which soften Kida's heart a little.
"Okay, we can do twenty days. Right guys?" Sun asked.
"That is plenty of time for us to see the wonders of this city." Jafar nodded.
"We thank you, your majesty." Jafar bowed before telling his crew to leave the throne room.
"Well, it was nice meeting you, Kash." Sun waved goodbye as he walks away.
"What did you just call me?" Kashekim asked.
"Kash, a shorter version of your name because it's hard to pronounce your actual name. Hope that's okay." Sun explained.
"(Even after all these years…)" Kashekim thought exclaimed.
"Just go." Kashekim said.
Sun walks away and by Jasmine's side though not before turning around to look at Kida giving her a smile and she smiles back at him; Kida looks at him longer before the door closes.
"That was unexpectedly kind of you, King Kashekim." Kali commented.
"I agree, normally when we even talk about outsiders, you would just want to kick them out the moment they set foot on our city." Blake recalled how firm the king can be at times.
"I only did that because I do not want to upset this new Golden Monkey though I doubt he will stay with us for long." Kashekim stated.
"Father, surely the last one did not mean to be absent from our city when the flood happened." Weiss wanted to believe that.
"It does not matter; this one has lived among the outsiders making him one of them." Kashekim said and looks to Kida.
"Your heart has also been softened, my daughter. A thousand years ago, you would have slain them on sight." Kashekim stated making Kida a little mad.
"A thousand years ago, our streets were lit, and our people did not have to scavenge for food at the edge of a crumbling city!" Kida pointed out as she lights up a lamp with her crystal.
"The people are content." Kashekim said.
"They do not know any better! We were once a great people of a great empire, now we live in ruins." Kida argued as Willow walks up placing a wet towel on Kashekim's forehead.
"She is right, dear. The kings of our past would be sadden knowing that we have fallen like this." Willow agreed.
"You too, Willow?" Kashekim exclaimed.
"I have always been by your side even before the great flood, but our way of life will soon fade and I'm sure Kiya would agree as well." Willow stated.
"It feels like she is still scolding me even in death." Kashekin remembered.
"But now with the Golden Monkey of Atlantis by our side again, we can save our future if we can unlock the secret of our past if we do not want to be forgotten forever through the sands of time." Kida believed strongly.
"What they have to teach us we have already learned." Kashekim said trying not to lose this argument.
"But your majesty, surely you have noticed how our way of life is dying throughout the centuries." Kali pointed out.
"And I'm telling you, our way of life is persevered." Kashekim said being stubborn and take Kida's hand.
"Kida, when you take the throne, you will understand." Kashekim sighed.
Kida would like to rule Atlantis one day, but she didn't want to rule a slow dying kingdom if she could not do something about and her only hope is the Golden Monkey named Sun Wukong.
(Meanwhile, with Sun's Group)
"So, how did it go?" Sweet asked as he and the rest were to wait outside for a while.
"Well, the king gave us twenty days to rest in the city though I think he really wants us out." Jasmine answered.
"Ouch, guess we won't be getting special treatments from him anytime soon." Yang said.
"Well, he did knowledge me as the Golden Monkey and seem to have lighten up." Sun shrugged.
"But it looks like Kida and the king don't see eye to eye, and I'm getting the feeling that he is hiding something." Oscar mentioned as he noticed how the king has been acting.
"Then it's important to find that out what it is and see if we can do something about it." Jafar stated.
"You know, Kida and those three girls we met seem to trust us a bit. Maybe I can go talk to them." Sun suggested.
"By yourself, that makes me worry. Perhaps you can bring someone else to come with you." Vine advised.
"Yeah, someone to help with the conversation." Helga nudged her shoulder to Sienna.
"I will go!" Mole volunteered but being ignore.
"Yeah, someone with good knowledge of history." Sienna nodded.
"I will do it." Mole jumped again.
"Someone who speak in their native tongue and get cracking." Maria added.
"Please, please pick me!" Mole begged.
"Someone who won't scare them away." Sweet said.
"For the good of the mission, I will go!" Mole volunteered.
"Thank you, Oscar Pine. Your help will be great for all of us." Jafar patted Oscar on the shoulder.
"Wait, what just happened?" Oscar confused as he was busy studying up on his notebook.
"Dude, you're going with me to talk to those girls." Sun answered and dragged him away.
Mole started crying that he was not chosen to go as Vine comforts him, Jasmine looks to the direction Sun and Oscar are going having a plan of her own for this. And she wasn't the only one feeling this way.
(With Kida and Others)
Kida is seen leaning her shoulder onto a pillar and looking down at the city wondering how could her father not see that Atlantis is losing itself.
"I know it's hard, but in his own way, father really is trying to look out for all of us." Weiss walked up to her big sister.
"Yeah, taking care of us to be faded into nothing but dust." Kida commented.
"We know you would do anything to keep Atlantis alive, we do too, and we'll figure things out together." Blake believed walking to them.
"And we will now that we have the Golden Monkey, perhaps he can unlock the mystery that has been plaguing my mind for some time." Kida mentioned of Sun.
"Then you best go to him." Willow said as she and Kali walks up to their daughters.
"I'm sure father wouldn't approve me talking to those outsiders." Kida chuckled.
"Nothing much he can do about it now, if anyone can help bring Atlantis back to its former glory then it's you." Willow said having confident in Kida.
"Thank you, Mother Willow, you may only be my father's second wife, but you have always been a mother to me just as much as my real mother was." Kida smiled giving Willow a hug.
"I'm happy to have become part of this family." Willow smiled as Weiss joins in on the hug.
"Now you girls go find that Sun fellow, got to admit he is quite the man." Kali grinned.
"Mom!" Blake whined of embarrassment with her cat ears down.
"What? I'm just saying he's a catch." Kali shrugged.
"We'll be going now." Kida chuckled as she, Weiss, and Blake made their way out through of the throne room.
Kashekim saw them leave though couldn't do anything because of his old age and look at the horizon.
"(I wonder if you can ever forgive me, old friend.)" Kashekim thought sad.
(With Sun and Oscar)
They look to the door of the throne room as the duo are waiting for the three young girls to come out.
"I'm not sure if they will answer our questions just like that." Oscar worried.
"I'm sure she wouldn't mind." Ruby said.
"Maybe, but…" Oscar paused his sentence realizing that wasn't Sun's voice.
Sun and Oscar turn around seeing not only their girlfriends, but also Elm and Rajah standing behind them.
"What are you girls and Rajah doing here?" Sun asked surprise.
"We thought about helping you boys out, thinking the conversation could use some feminine touch." Jasmine answered.
"Also, because I'm as your bodyguard, it is my job after all." Elm stated her own reason.
"We just wanted to get to know them too, being friends with ancient civilization sounds pretty cool." Ruby said as Neon agrees.
"Hey, I think I hear the door opening." Yang alerted the others.
They peak over the pillar they are hiding behind seeing Kida with Weiss and Blake coming out.
"Okay, just need to get myself ready." Oscar said taking some deep breaths.
"Great, we just need to walk up to them saying "We want answers and I know you want some too, so let's go somewhere and talk" or something like that." Sun planned.
"Sounds good, now let's-wait, they're gone?" Oscar surprised as everyone see the three young women have somehow disappeared.
"Where'd they go?" Elm asked.
Immediately after asking that question, the three girls jumped down from behind them grabbing Sun and Oscar with Jasmine and Ruby surprising the others.
"We want answers and I know you want some too, so let's go somewhere and talk." Kida said, unknowingly saying the exact same words Sun was gonna say to her.
"Well, that was easy." Neon commented.
"Come on, we have a friend who would also like to know about the surface world." Blake mentioned as the group follows them.
Kida, Weiss, and Blake lead the small group into a jungle area with some ruins of the ancient city with some plants like vines growing on them and they stop at one spot, all while introducing themselves too.
"Velvet, we're here and we brought the outsiders we told you about!" Weiss called out.
Five seconds later, one person jumped down from a high point of a tree branch surprising Oscar and some a bit.
"Oh wow, Atlantis first visitors from the outside world in centuries!" The girl squealed of excitement.
The girl named Velvet is a young woman and has light dark skin, long white hair and brown eyes. She also has a pair of brown rabbit ears, identifying her as a Faunus. She wears a two-piece brown bikini similar style like the other natives with some orange color design, blue tattoo of a crescent moon on her right cheek and a star on her belly. Breasts sizes: F-cup.
"You're really from the surface world, aren't you?" Velvet asked exciting.
"Well, if our clothes weren't obvious enough then yeah." Sun grinned gesturing at his clothes.
"Everyone, this is our friend, Velvet Scarlatina. Out of all of us, she is very curious about the surface world and want to know what is like." Blake introduced Velvet to them.
"Yep, I'm the Golden Monkey, Sun Wukong. And these are my friends: Oscar, Ruby, Neon, Elm and the tiger Rajah. Jasmine and Yang here are my girlfriends." Sun introduced himself and the others as they say hi to her.
"No way, the Golden Monkey of Atlantis! I thought he was lost forever!" Velvet gasped.
"He was, but now his descendant has come to us for our greatest needs." Kida smiled.
"Cool, and you're a scholar, right?" Velvet asked.
"I am, actually. How'd you know?" Oscar asked back.
"Well, you must be one consider you physic and the sharp eyes you have." Velvet answered.
"Sharp eyes?" Oscar surprised to hear that about himself.
"So, do any of you come from different country origin or were you all born in the same place? When did the flood waters recede? How did you…" Kida asked on and on until Weiss stops her.
"Easy Kida, we all came here to each other some questions." Weiss reminded her older half-sister.
"Right, so how about each group take turns on asking each other questions, rotating and all." Elm suggested.
"I'm good with that and it's only right they ask the first question." Blake pointed out.
"Very well, you may ask away." Kida said to Sun's group.
"Okay, well, let me just say it's an honor to be in your city and I've been trying to figure out how did the whole city ended up down here when it was flooded by water?" Oscar asked.
"We don't know the whole story, but we were told the gods were jealous of Atlantis for some reason." Weiss answered.
"Yes, they sent a great cataclysm and banished us here." Kida nodded with a sad expression.
"Wow, sound like a bunch of jerk gods." Yang commented.
"You can say that again." Velvet rolled her eyes.
"All I can remember is the sky going dark, and people shouting and running. Then a bright light, like a star, floating above the city. My father said it called my mother to it… I never saw her again." Kida explained, hurt of the memories as Weiss comfort her.
"I'm sorry for your lost." Jasmine said feeling sad for Kida.
"Yeah, it's not easy to get over-Wait just a minute, you said you "remember" that day?" Yang asked cutting off Oscar which also makes him realize.
"Hold on, are you telling me that you girls were actually there at the time?" Oscar asked shock.
"Yes, I was." Kida revealed.
"Whoa, are you telling us that you and everyone in this entire city is over 9,000 years old!" Sun gasped.
"We are, me and these girls were only babies when the flood happened." Weiss mentioned as Blake and Velvet nods.
"But… But how can you girls live for that long?" Ruby asked.
"We're not sure ourselves, but we believe it has something to do with our crystals though we haven't found anymore than that." Velvet answered.
"Okay, we're definitely going off to a good start." Sun commented.
