Great Ride to View of the Ancient City

After the revelation of the Atlantean people somehow having longer lifespan and normal humans have made the girls from Sun's group feel a bit jealous that they stayed young and beautiful for the past 9,000 years, they took a little break from the question to gather their thoughts.

"You okay, Jasmine?" Sun asked.

"I'm fine, just the thought of immortality or something close to it actually exist is a bit of a shock." Jasmine answered.

"More like the aging gap is 'grasping' on us." Yang punned making most groan except for Sun.

"Was that supposed to be funny or something?" Blake asked.

"Trust me, her jokes are never funny." Ruby sighed.

"Except for Sun here." Oscar gestured to the Golden Monkey.

"I just felt laughing because they are." Sun chuckled.

"I hope in your world there aren't any other people with that same awful humor as hers." Weiss exclaimed.

"Now, I believe it is our turn to ask you the question like how'd you all manage to find us all the way down here?" Kida asked.

"Oh, we just follow the path through the Shephard's Journal." Oscar answered and showed them the book.

"This book led you here?" Velvet asked as she took the book from Oscar which he was okay with.

"Yeah, that little book was a big help for us getting here though the journey wasn't easy to get through." Oscar chuckled.

"I have a question; can you guys talk to animals like fish?" Neon asked.

"What makes you think we can talk to animals?" Blake asked, confuse of the question.

"I just thought maybe you guys have developed the ability like that and noticed some of your cultures are based on animals." Neon answered.

"Sorry to disappoint you, but no one around here can speak to animals." Blake said with a small grin.

"Oscar, can you read this?" Velvet asked as she, Kida, and Weiss still look at the book.

"Yeah, though I'm still practicing while Sun here can read perfectly being second nature to him." Oscar mentioned.

"The words come from my heart and mind, I know it sounds weird and all, but that just how I felt." Sun explained then Kida suddenly shove the book to his face.

"These words, you can read them!" Kida asked.

"Yeah, I kinda mention that already and…" Sun paused his sentence when he saw Kida with a sad mood on her face.

"Hey, is it just me or does something seem wrong with this picture?" Sun asked.

"No, I see it too and perhaps it's because you can't read your own language, can you?" Jasmine figured out.

"What? That's crazy talk, how could they not know how to read or write their own language?" Yang brushed off.

But the four Atlantean girls are silence giving Yang a clear answer much to the bomb-making girl's shock.

"No way, you guys can't read this at all!" Yang gasped.

"Not just us, no one in the whole city can." Blake confessed rubbing her arm.

"Such knowledge has been lost to us since the time of the Mehbelmok." Kida mentioned.

"Mehbelmok?" Elm confused of that word.

"It means the Great Flood." Oscar said as Elm now understands that.

"Why didn't you guys try teaching yourselves how to read your words?" Oscar asked.

"We can speak the words but writing them is very hard and we couldn't find anything that help us with that." Weiss explained.

"Damn…" Sun said then got an idea.

"Hey, how about Oscar read the words to you and you girls translate so this can help you practice of understanding the words better." Sun suggested.

"Sounds good, please read us a sentence." Velvet nodded and looked at Oscar with exciting look in her eyes.

"Okay, okay." Oscar said as he opens the journal as he starts reading in Atlantean words.

"Follow the narrow passage for another league." Kida translated the first half of the sentence.

"There, you will find the fifth marker." Weiss translated the second half.

"Yeah, exactly as it says." Oscar nodded.

"Even though Oscar had to speak in that silly accent." Ruby giggled and Neon laughs a little.

"Hey, my accent isn't that funny! Right?" Oscar asked Velvet.

"Well, it was boorish." Velvet said being honest.

"Also provincial." Blake added.

"And you speak through your nose." Kida mentioned pointing at her own nose.

"Okay, glad to know what I need to work on." Oscar chuckled nervously.

"Come, let me show you something." Kida grabbed Sun's hand dragging somewhere as the others quickly follow him.

They went about half a mile away until they stop of a brown cloth that appears to be on top of something as Kida removes the cloth revealing to be some kind of structure, it resembles some kind of fish though this one is made of metal and almost looks like a motorcycle with the wheels.

"Whoa, I don't know what that is, but I bet it's an amazing invention your people made a long time ago!" Ruby awestruck of this.

"It's one of the things you can find all over the city, but we've been having trouble with getting this thing to do something." Blake said as she taps her foot on it.

"From what I can, I think this is supposed to a vehicle." Elm guessed.

"Good guess, I was thinking the same thing." Oscar said.

"All we know is that our crystal goes into that, but no matter what we try, it will not respond." Kida said looking a bit angry.

"There are also these writings like in your book." Velvet pointed at the little writings.

"They must be instructions, let see what it says and find out what you did wrong." Sun said as he and Oscar look closely.

"Okay, the first step is placing the crystal into the slot." Oscar read it first.

"Yes, yes, we have done that." Kida said.

"Gently place your hand on the inscription pad." Sun read the second step.

"Done that, but still nothing." Weiss walked around.

"The other step is turning your crystal one-quarter turn back while your hand was on the pad. Did you do that?" Oscar asked.

"Yea… No, I don't believe we did that." Kida realized.

"Are you kidding me? After thousands of years with this thing! How could we not think of doing that!" Weiss complained.

"Easy there, everyone makes mistake as long as you don't give up and keep trying, the goal you want will be within arm's reach." Sun stated, rubbing his hands onto Weiss's shoulder calming her down.

"Okay, I think I'm good. And wise words, Sun." Weiss commented.

"Thanks, just being there for those I cherish most." Sun said with a wink.

Seeing that suddenly made Weiss blush in surprise as she can feel her heart racing a little as this feeling is new to her.

"O-Okay, let give this a try." Weiss placed her crystal on the slot and kept her hand on the pad, then the fish vehicle float in the air.

All four Atlantean girls spoke an Atlantean sentence with the surprise and amaze look on their faces.

"Yeah, you can say that again." Sun impressed.

"Amazing, this must be how the citizens get around fast like the cars and other vehicles we have, but nothing that doesn't run on fuel and such." Jasmine surprised as she leans closer.

"Yeah, we could probably see the whole city on this baby." Oscar excited.

"Does it go fast too?" Yang asked as she tap her finger on the pad.

Then suddenly the fish ride flies away fast with Jasmine hanging onto it for dear life as she screams in fear.

"Jasmine!" Sun worried.

The flying fish ride bounces off some ruin structure like a pong ball as Jasmine does her best to hold on tight hoping the ride would be over soon, but she will soon regret that wish as the fish ride is coming to a pillar fast that could cause a vital accident.

"NO!" Sun ran to the pillar and ready himself to catch it even though he actually has no idea what he is doing.

"Sun, you're crazy!" Oscar shouted.

Sun ignores that comment and see the flying fish with his first girlfriend still holding into it as his body starts to glow golden again and hold out both his hands at the flying fish ride.

"Stop!" Sun shouted.

Then the flying fish ride started to slow down, and gold lines appear as it makes a soft landing on the ground as Jasmine is surprised by this.

"Whoa, did not know I could do that?" Sun surprised at himself, then he runs up to Jasmine giving her a hug.

"Are you okay, Jasmine!" Sun asked.

"I'm fine, better that you were able to stop it." Jasmine smiled.

"Sun, how did you do that?" Elm asked.

"I don't know, I just wanted to save Jasmine and the fish thing just stops." Sun confused about what happened as well.

"This actually reminds me of the stories my mom used to tell me as a kid, that the Golden Monkey was bestowed with gifts to help him protect the city from any threats." Blake mentioned.

"Really, does this mean I'm like super strong and stuff?" Sun amazed at himself.

"I'm not sure, the legend was never specific on what gift he got back then." Blake said.

"Maybe now that you're here in Atlantis, the gifts are starting to manifest within you, and something tells me we may discover them." Jasmine believed.

"Well, I got the Golden Sight for finding the right path and now I can apparently command these flying fish to stop too." Sun placed his hand on the pad of the fish then it floats again with the line craving glowing gold.

"And now you can start them up without the need of a crystal." Oscar excited.

"Hey Jasmine, I just want to say I'm sorry about making that fish thing go fast and almost got you hurt." Yang apologized.

"Do not worry, accidents happen even to the best of us. What's important is that we learn from our mistakes so we can do better in the future." Jasmine smiled placing a hand on Yang's shoulder.

"Such wise words." Kida nodded.

"Now I feel like I can ride this bad boy!" Sun jumped onto the fish ride.

"Are you sure that's safe?" Elm worried.

"Don't worry, I rode a motorcycle once or twice and this is similar except with the flying has no wheels." Sun shrugged.

"I'm coming with you because I wanted to enjoy the good experience of riding these things." Jasmine jumped behind Sun.

"Better make room for me too!" Yang excited as she jumps behind Jasmine filling up the space on the flying fish-cycle.

"Hey, what about us! We want to go riding too!" Ruby whined.

"Maybe we can take turns?" Oscar shrugged.

"Actually, I think I have a better idea! Follow me!" Velvet ran ahead of the group.

Sun and the others look at Kida hoping they would know what she is planning, but she just shrug meaning she has no idea and so the group follow the white rabbit girl making their way to one of the largest humanoid statues they have ever seen.

"Wow, it's like the Statue of Liberty in New York!" Neon surprised.

"So, you have a statue gives you the liberty to do things?" Kida asked.

"No, the statue is just a symbol of this city in the surface world for enlightenment with its torch lighting the way to freedom." Jasmine explained.

"Freedom is a wonderful thing to have." Blake commented.

"But I doubt this New York have dozens more of these statues." Weiss bragged.

"Now Velvet, would you please tell us exactly why have we come here?" Weiss asked.

"Hold on, I know it's around here somewhere." Velvet brushed away the leaves and vines on the ground until she some Atlantean markings.

"Hey Sun, use your sight to find a crystal slot with your eyes!" Velvet called out.

"Okay." Sun said feeling like Velvet may know something that is around here.

Sun turns on his Golden Sight and looks around seeing most things dark blue as usually until he spotted a small golden glow.

"Over there, by that tree." Sun pointed the way.

"Yes, I knew this platform was more than I hope." Velvet smiled running to the slot.

"Wait, have you discovered something?" Kida asked.

"Indeed, I have, Princess Kida." Velvet said as she places her crystal into the slot causing the blue glow around her and the others.

A small stone pillar raises up appearing to be a control console and Velvet carefully looks at the symbol seeing that one of the is pointing up, she presses that symbol, and the platform lifts up into the air as the others brace themselves to hold their ground.

"Whoa, I heard of raising the roof but never the ground!" Yang shocked.

"I knew it! I knew this platform was something special, but this is WAY more than I could have ever imagined!" Velvet excitingly hopped of joy.

"This is amazing! Another secret way our people have made during the golden ages!" Kida laughed joyfully.

"It's like we're flying!" Ruby and Neon cheered.

"Oh boy, I hope I don't lose my breakfast." Elm said feeling dizzy a bit.

"Don't worry, everything is going to be alright… I hope." Oscar gulped hope nothing wrong will come to them.

"Hey, wait for us!" Sun called as he got the Fish Rider to follow them.

Velvet waited for the platform to reach all the way to the top of the giant statue and press one symbol that she thought it was would, but it made the platform ended up going down fast making the others scream. The white rabbit girl managed to get the platform to stop at the middle of the statue thought she and the others feel a little shaken up from the crazy ride.

"Sorry, still trying to figure out what these symbols mean." Velvet apologized.

"Don't worry, everybody makes mistake though I think it would be best if I stand next to you for work on this thing." Oscar offered walking up to Velvet.

"Yeah, I think that would be the best." Velvet agreed.

"You guys okay?" Yang asked as Sun flies the flying fish ride next to the platform.

"Yeah, we're good." Ruby said with a thumb up.

"But can we go slower this time just so I don't feel dizzy anymore." Elm said as she gently sits on the platform and Rajah is shaking in fear.

"Okay, now let's try going to the top again." Velvet smiled at Oscar, and he press the up button.

Everyone made their way up to the top of the giant statue.

"Okay everyone, the reason I wanted to come up here in the first place is because I wanted all of us to experience the great view of the city." Velvet revealed and gestured to the view for everyone to see.

Sun rode the Fish-Rider next to the platform and park sideway for Jasmine and Yang to see this for themselves.

Everyone including Rajah became awestruck of the great scenery they are seeing together of the ancient, ruined city of Atlantis with their own eyes, Sun is taking all this in the most as tears are coming out of his eyes though he didn't care, and the memories of his grandpa Milo surfaced within his mind.

"Sun, are you okay?" Blake asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine… Just letting myself enjoy the moment." Sun sobbed while smiling and Jasmine wiped one tear away with her hand.

"You're thinking about your grandfather, are you?" Jasmine asked as she can always tell what Sun is thinking of right now.

"Yeah, my grandpa would always tell me stories about Atlantis has it has always been his favorite legends of all time and never gave up on trying to find it like how he found the journal. Just wish he could see it with me right now." Sun looked up imaging his grandpa Milo looking down at him from Heaven right now.

"No doubt he is very proud of you for finding Atlantis in his stead and me with my grandpa." Oscar pointed out.

"Yeah, let's make sure we do our grandfathers proud!" Sun said holding up his fist to Oscar.

"You got it, partner." Oscar smiled and fist-bump with Sun making this scene awesome for the boys.
