Tori was lying in bed, dreading the day ahead. today was the day, Tori was going to tell her parents about Jade. Tori and Jade had been dating for about nine months and Tori felt that it was time for her to say something.

Tori sat on the edge of her bed, looking at a picture of Jade she had on her phone. "I think I am falling in love with you." Tori Thought out loud.

Tori heard her mother call for breakfast. Tori headed downstairs.

"Hey, are you guys gonna be home tonight?" Tori asked her parents.

"Yeah, I should be," Holly answered.

"I have to go police headquarters, at two but I should be home if traffic allows," David said going into the fridge.

"Why do you ask?" Holly asked.

"I have something I want to share with you." Tori responded. "trust me it's nothing bad." Tori said noticing the look on her mother's face.

"Oh, okay. " Holly said, sitting at the table.

After breakfast, Tori left for school. Tori parked and hopped out, scanning the lot for Jade's car, but she didn't see it. Tori waited for a few minutes before deciding to go in, just as she was heading in Jade's car sped into the parking lot. Tori waited for Jade to get out of the car.

"Hiiiii!" Tori exclaimed, smiling ear to ear.

Tori put her arms out for a hug. Jade reciprocated "Hi baby." Jade responded lovingly embracing Tori. They held each other for a minute, until the bell rang, warning the couple they'll be late, they kissed before letting each other go.

Jade whispered something in Tori's ear before heading to her locker, leaving Tori a little damp. She ended up having to go to the bathroom to wipe up before class.

The day was going by pretty quickly and before Tori knew it, it was lunch. The whole gang was at the table.

"Guys, today's the day."Tori interrupted. " I'm gonna tell my parents about me and Jade." Tori finished taking Jade's hand and kissing her cheek.

"I'm proud of you" Andre replied back.

"Thanks, I just feel like it's time we've dated almost a year," Tori responded.

"Why now, why not when you discovered you were gay?" Beck asked

"Dude," Jade said angrily before Tori cut her off.

"No it's fine," Tori said giving Jade a look of assurance. "I wanted to make sure this was going to be something before I said anything."

"And you think that this is something? Jade does have a habit of getting tired of people." Beck replied.

"Wrong, because unlike some people Tori actually makes me happy." Jade cut in.

The bell rang just in time signaling the end of lunch. everyone got up leaving the cafe but Jade and Tori stayed behind to talk a little bit.

"You want me to come over?" Jade asked, "You know for moral support."

"I would love that, but I think that this is something I have to do alone." Tori said. "especially not knowing how my parents would react."

"You think they won't be supportive?" Jade asked worriedly.

"I feel like they'll be quick to shoot it down as phase rather than accept as who I am," Tori answered.

"This is why I think I should be there," Jade responded.

"I love that you're this supportive, but I'll be fine I promise." Tori stated, "we have to get to Sikowitz."

They kissed and headed to class, the rest of the day went by without any excitement. and Tori was back home getting ready for dinner.

"Tori, can you come here please," Holly yelled from the kitchen.

Tori headed downstairs.

"Yeah mom," Tori answered entering the kitchen.

"I have to run back to the store can you, watch the food," Holly said opening the garage door.

"sure" Tori answered.

Just as Holly closed the door, the back door burst open and Jade poked her head in.

"Miss me?" Jade asked.

"What are you doing here?" Tori asked.

"I wanted to tell you that you got this and that I'm proud of you, and I love you," Jade said. "How are you feeling?"

"a little nervous," Tori answered.

"don't think about it. just do it. know that I love you." Jade said caressing Tori's cheek "I have to get going. Remember I love you." Jade said kissing Tori.

"I love you," Tori replied watching Jade leave.

It was now dinner time, Trina and Tori were helping Holly set the table, while they waited for David. Holly was putting the plates on the table, Tori was checking the food, and Trina was getting the drinks. They were just about done when David came bursting through the door.

"Girls I have news!" David said excitedly

"What?" they answered in unison.

"So you know I had to go to police headquarters right?" David said. "Well my unit is up for most cases closed in a single year." David continued.

"That great dad," Tori and Trina said in unison.

"That's wonderful honey," Holly said giving David a kiss.

"But that's not even the best part, the department is paying for us to go to the ceremony. room board and food, all paid for." David said.

That news made the girls go wild.

"Anyone who's anyone in law enforcement is going to be there. FBI, CIA, The Marshal Service, this could write my entire unit's tickets to go anywhere in we want." David finished.

"That's great, let's continue this over dinner before the food gets cold" Holly suggested.

The whole dinner went on with David talking about the ceremony. that is until almost the end of dinner when Tori interrupted.

"Guys, I have something I want to tell you."

"You go into Julliard?" Holly blurted.

"No, actually I haven't even sent the application yet," Tori answered.

"I'm sorry sweetie, I stole your thunder. what is that you wanted to share with us?" David said.

"You remember Jade?" Tori asked nervously.

"The girl who poured coffee in your hair your first day? Vaguely why" Holly answered. "Don't tell me she finally got arrested."

"What? No mom, I, I mean we are kind of dating." Tori said.

The room fell quiet, David and Holly stared at Tori for what felt like forever. David then got up and went around the table to hug his daughter.

"Oh honey I'm so proud of you," David said.

"I'm not" Holly mumbled. "David, how could you be okay with this?" Holly questioned. "Our is gay, that's not right."

"First did Jade apologize for what she did?" David asked.

"Yeah," Tori answered.

"Okay, are you happy?" David asked.

"Very happy. Happier than I when I was with Danny." Tori replied

"As long as our daughter is happy, I think that's all that matters," David said to Holly.

"Did you know about this?" Holly asked Trina

"Kinda, I go to school with them, I'm dating her best friend," Trina said awkwardly.

"Wow, I can't believe this. My own flesh and blood is a fucking queer." Holly shouted. getting up from the table. "No daughter of mine is going to be gay, You're no longer my daughter," Holly said walking past Tori.

Those words pierced through Tori's mind like nothing ever had before. Tori burst out in tears and ran to her room. Trina followed behind her. David went to talk to his wife.

"Hey, Tor, open up let me in," Trina said softly.

"No, go away. I don't want to talk." Tori responded through tears.

"You know I can't do that," Trina answered back.

After a few seconds, Trina heard Tori get up and start walking over to the door. Tori opened it already it looked like she had been crying for hours. As soon as Tori opened the door she started crying all over again.

"She said I'm not her daughter." Tori cried.

Meanwhile, David was trying to talk with Holly about what just unfolded.

"She's still our daughter. " David said.

"No, she isn't she's a gay. that is not how we raised her. and what's she's dating that girl who put coffee in her hair," Holly said Taking a deep breath. "I mean did we really set the bar that low."

"What's wrong with our daughter wanting to be happy," David asked.

"She's not my daughter." Holly spat.

David stayed silent for a couple of seconds before responding.

"You know I would've like to have thought that after what your mother put you through when we started dating, you would treat your own daughter just a little bit better," David said before going into the house.

Trina was still sitting with her sister when her phone went off it was Cat.

"Oh, shoot I forgot. Andre and Robbie are taking us this open mike thing tonight." Trina said, "Apparently they wrote a song and want us to hear it."

"Go, I'll be okay," Tori said.

"I don't feel right just leaving you, want me to call Jade?" Trina asked.

"No, I'll call her later" Tori answered.

Trina hugged her sister and left.

"Remember Tori, I still love you," Trina said leaving the room

"I still love you too." David said stepping inside the room. "and your mom still loves you, it's just a shock to her. that's all"

"It doesn't feel like she still loves me, she said I wasn't her daughter, how is that love?" Tori asked.

"It's not, she just said it in the moment. she didn't mean it," David said rubbing Tori's back. "She'll come around. she has to."

"What if she doesn't?" Tori asked sorrowfully

"I don't know. Sweety" David answered.
