"Chill out. Both of you." Itachi was nervous because to him, it was making us official official. Sasuke was nervous because he would not be able to escape Naruto's parents. "It's a birthday dinner, you're not going to be questioned about the biggest conspiracy there could be in Konoha."

"Easy for you to say." I pulled on Sasuke's ear.

"I'm the birthday girl Sasuke, so please, do this for me?" I asked him, pressing on his cheeks with my hands to make sure he'd look at me. He flailed his hand to grab his brother's arm, probably for help, but it was every man for himself.

Itachi moved to be out of his reach.

I had taken him shopping to 'modernize' his wardrobe let's say. When the price started to go too high, he tried to talk his way out of it, but I reassured him and told him it was on me. He was wearing dark jeans, a fitted dark red sweater, and black sneakers.

He asked me a lot if it was really good enough before we left my place.

"Knock knock we're here!" I stated when I opened the door. I took a deep breath and smile at the smell of food. "Hey Aun...ty and Kakashi?" Kakashi raised his hand.

"It feels like a trap," Sasuke muttered next to me when he saw his sensei. I slapped him behind the head.

"It's my birthday."

"Yeah, I think we got that," I heard Itachi mutter behind me. I glared at him weakly above my shoulder and he just looked away. "Good evening Kakashi-san, Kushina-san." Sasuke nodded at my dear aunt.

"Where's Oji-chan?"

"Still getting ready. Could you get him please?" I nodded and ran up the stairs. When I reached their bedroom door, I knocked on it with my foot.

"Hey, we're here!" I heard something moving inside. "Oji-chan?" He opened the door, fully ready but with an upset look on his face. "What?"

"Happy birthday," he muttered, leaving his room. I caught a glimpse of pictures on the bed before he closed the door.

"You're not depressed because I'm growing older, are you?" He averted his eyes and left.

It was weird all night. Kakashi shook his head at me when Kushina was talking to Minato in the kitchen, silently telling me not to bother with his sensei's antics. Itachi was trying to be well seen and the perfect son-in-law I guess in a way, which Sasuke was not impressed with. When he'd get in talks with Kakashi, and trying to get Minato involved, Sasuke would lean more toward me, and Aunty.

"I'd think you would try to get involved in their guys' talk," I whispered to him. He took a sip of his soup.

"It's more interesting here." We were talking about Fuinjutsu a lot. I had managed to get Sasuke to come with me at the Hyuugas once and even if I had not done much, he was more than eager to know what I was doing. "Nii-san is putting on a show anyway."

"I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed," I whispered back to him. We high-fived under the table and looked away when Itachi glanced our way.

Around ten, Kakashi told us he was leaving and would take Sasuke back home. Aunty walked them out and I followed.

"Here." Kakashi told me, giving me a birthday present. He leaned toward me, his mouth next to his mouth. "Open it when you're alone."

"Sure?"

"And don't avoid us anymore. I am glad you did not kill my son, but we have watched you grow up Sasuke, we were worried about you as well." Sasuke nodded at Aunty, looking at his feet.

"Sorry Oba-san." She ruffled his hair.

"Don't try this again." He nodded and they left. "Alright, now it's time to get serious."

"Huh?" She took me back to the living-room and sat me down on the couch next to Itachi. He was gazing harshly at the floor, his fists clenched on his pants. "What happened?"

"I told him I wasn't happy with your relationship." I rolled my eyes.

"Minato, you agreed on not saying this!"

"It's what I think."

"I know I don't have the best track record, but I won't make the same mistakes again," Itachi told him firmly, raising sharp eyes to my godfather. "I know I cannot prove it but…" I put my hand on his fist. He immediately let me slip my fingers between his, under Minato's harsh blue eyes. "I won't."

"I wish I could believe you Itachi-kun, I really do." I frowned. "However, Akane has gotten the short end of the stick too many times when it comes to you." I glared at him.

"Minato!" Kushina exclaimed, shocked herself by her husband. I could feel how tense Itachi was next to me.

"As long as the whole Uchiha clan is interested in his personal life and has a say in it, it is going to be exactly this." I looked away when Minato raised his eyes to me. "I'm not trying to be the mean one, I'm just being realistic."

"And…what would it take for you to reconsider?"

"Leave your clan maybe." I stood up immediately, gazing at the Hokage coldly.

"That's enough." I pulled Itachi onto his feet. "Thank you for the meal Aunty, but we're leaving."

"Of course, it was my pleasure." Minato stood up.

"Akane, lis…"

"It's low," I interrupted him coldly. "It's low and you know it, it…"

"Let's go home," Itachi told me quietly. I took a deep breath and nodded.

I did shut the front door loudly.

"Don't mind him," I told Itachi firmly, my hand in his. Well, his hand in mine really. "Seriously, it wasn't…he was…"

"Realistic?" he finished for me; his voice defeated. I gulped.

Yeah, sadly he was exactly this and completely broke the honeymoon phase we were in.

"Minato…doesn't know our relationship."

"He knows the external factors." I took in a sharp breath. "Don't get upset, we both know it's true."

"I thought I was the one who needed convincing in this relationship, not the other way around?" He stopped walking, his harsh gaze stuck on the ground. I let go of his hand to go in front of him and grasped his arms firmly. "Itachi hey! Don't let him get in your head!"

"I hate being in your position," he admitted with a bitter smile.

"Yeah, it sucks but Minato…he doesn't have a word in any of my relationships."

"Hn." I furrowed my brows. "But you want him to approve."

"What? Tha…" He cupped my cheek.

"He's the closest thing you have to a father, it's normal if you want his approval my love." I looked down.

"I don't want you to leave your clan, just so we're clear. I…" I took a deep breath. "Sure, we were in the honeymoon phase and…I don't know how we can tackle this but…I don't want you to leave your clan, I'd never ask you this, it's…"

"Shhh…" he whispered, pulling me smoothly against him. "I know." I hugged him tightly just as a cloud hid the moon. It took away any light we had.

Neither Itachi nor I needed to be reminded of past…of things that were in the past.

Rain started to fall.

"Shit, let's make a run for it." We ran back to my place, my hand in his.

I didn't sleep much, and neither did Itachi. Going on Mom's grave, and Fubuki's, today had been a lot already but now this…

Itachi and I's relationship was no one's business but ours. No one.

"Did you have dinner at Kushina's?" His mother asked him the second he had opened the front door.

"Hello to you too."

"Answer me." Itachi sighed and sat down to remove his shoes.

"Yes. It was Akane's birthday." Despite the depressing end of the night, he was happy she enjoyed the book trilogy he had gotten her.

He was fully aware of the collector edition of Icha Icha Kakashi had gotten her too. The weird giggles she was making in the bathroom was more than telling.

"What about it Mo…" He stopped when he noticed his mother was pouting, her arms crossed on her chest. "Mom?"

"No, they're the first ones to host you as a couple, I'm not upset at all." He pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Is it just this?" Mikoto frowned at her son.

"It is important to me Itachi! She's your first serious girlfriend, most probably the first and last one, so I wanted it to be here!" He sighed.

"I'm sure Father would be delighted to have Akane over for dinner as my girlfriend." She waved him off.

"Your father won't rain on my parade."

"What am I not going to spoil?" Fugaku asked as he went down the stairs.

"Akane and Itachi went to Kushina's for dinner for her birthday as a couple and I want her over as Itachi's girlfriend for a meal." His father stopped and looked at his wife, who raised a challenging eyebrow.

"Last time I checked Akane was not big on coming to the Compound," his father retorted. Well, he was not wrong.

"She went to the library, she'll be fine!" His father frowned and looked at him.

"It's not closed to people," Itachi said simply. "She was curious about mythology; I took her there."

"Hn."

"Good, so tell Akane I will be expecting you two on Sunday for lunch," his mother told him with a smile.

"Okay." She left in another room. His father immediately looked at him in disapproval. "What kind of son would I be to break her heart, Father?" He left to go to another room as well.

He did his laundry and then packed his bag for at least three days. For now, he was fine with packing for three days, spend a night here and leave for three more days. Even if he wanted to go back to her at the end of the day, he knew she needed her space, and so did he. He loved her to death, but her place was small. He was patient, but he was not sure how long it would take for Akane to lose patience and try to kill him in his sleep because he was breathing too loudly.

He would go back visit this apartment during the day and talk to Akane about it the next day. Hopefully, she would agree, and he'd buy it with his savings, Akane would realize it was way better to have more space and before they knew it, she would have her clothes next to his in the closet.

Itachi fell on his bed, using his crossed hands as a pillow. Now as for Izanami…Out of all the deities there were in the mythology they knew about the creation of the world, she was the only one who could fit the position of the Shinigami as she was stuck in Yomi, the Land of the Dead. Of course, there were supposedly several shinigamis, they were psychopomps deities after all, their task was to guide the deceased souls to the other side. However, if they had a pact with the Uzumaki clan, to living beings and to chakra, or at least using the chakra of their vassal to be connected to the realm of the living, it could not be just any Shinigami.

The big question mark in his mind was to find a way to contact Izanami. Clearly, he was an oddity in the long history of Yuureis and Akane had told him he had bargained his way here with her. He had no memories of it, but it meant that Izanami was there, in another realm. It was just a matter of contacting her. The most logical way was for Akane to die, simple and efficient. He was not about to let that happen though. If he were to die, chances were he would also be able to see her because, if he was correct, Izanami being the Shinigami would mean the Shinigami's stomach souls were supposed to be tortured for eternity would be Yomi, the land of the Dead. The one way to the Land of the Dead was to be dead.

Tsunade could have a way to help though. There had to be something to plunge them in a near-death state or something. It was not something he wanted to put Akane through though. For now, the best thing to do was to connect the Claw to her seal so it was stabilized and then…she had not showed any interest in trying to stop insanity to win over her for now, and he hoped she would change her mind about it. Contacting Izanami and begging her not to make his love insane and die without discerning reality from memories was not nothing. Akane was more focused on helping Naruto and his brother, so even if he was focused on that too, he would spend his free time researching Izanami, Yomi, the Uzumakis, anything that could help her.

Itachi opened his eyes. He wondered how Shisui was. He knew he was stuck in the Land of Iron, and the Akatsuki was keeping a low profile for now but…he was not happy about his best friend not being able to come back home. Minato had let him see a file about the crimes Shisui had committed with the Akatsuki. It was not glorious, but it was nothing against Konoha. There was something against Iwa though. Overall, he could potentially be accepted back on the same terms as Akane, as a civilian that was, if he contributed to Konoha as much as Akane had despite being in Kiri.

She had left the village a traitor but while in Kiri, she helped forged an alliance between the Hidden Leaf and the Hidden Mist, clear his clan's name from the Kyuubi attack all the while helping putting Kiri back on the right tracks. It was big. If Shisui could, somehow, find a way to do something like this then he could be reintegrated and then, he could testify against Danzou and send him back to the shadows, where he belonged. Not only this, but it would silence the other two Elders and potentially send them to retirement once and for all as well. Minato had people from his own generation around him to help him, including his old sensei Shikaku and his father, so their input was necessary only in times of war. The death of the Sandaime had put a dent in the fragile balance Minato had managed to get in his rule. The situation with Iwa was not helping, it was still tensed.

At least, Shisui was with Shinobu. Itachi found her obscene and borderline indecent a lot of the time, but he knew she was smart, cunning and most of all, in love with Shisui. This idiot was in love with her too. At least, he had gotten one good thing out of his exile, like Itachi had. Itachi had never thought about love seriously before he met Akane and now he couldn't picture a life with a woman of his clan for himself. Shisui was very much the same. Finding an Uchiha who did not think only through the eyes of the Uchiha clan was not easy, and as both Shisui and Itachi were lucid and critical of their clan and its flaws, they needed women who could see that as well.

He missed him though. He wished he was there so he could share his frustrations about his clan and its opinion about Akane. He loved Akane, but he knew that she'd always feel guilty for the fact his clan did not want them to be together and if he could prevent the guilty look on her face, he would.

Itachi sighed a little. He couldn't say he was surprised Minato did not approve of him but…he had thought the Hokage would at least give him a chance to prove himself. He had seen his behavior when he was in Kiri after all.

Akane could tell him she didn't care, he was not blind. He knew she did. Minato was like a father to her, which was obviously reciprocated from the number of times Minato kicked him out of his house years before, and with her own father being Ushio, he could not deprive her from wanting Minato's approval.

Sure, Minato had not said he would force them to split up or anything. It was more as if he would always expect Itachi to leave Akane at some point, which was…worst. Getting Akane to see him as a reliable partner had been complicated enough, but getting Minato to see that?

And it was without mentioning Naruto. Who knew how he would react to Itachi dating his precious Nee-chan after all?

The next day, at the end of the afternoon once he was done with his session with Kushina, he went back to Akane's place. Kushina had reconciled with her niece but was still working him to the bone; his legs were shaking by the end of their session. She had promised him that once she was done with him, he would be better with before with a lot more stamina, so he was not complaining out loud. He knew better than to complain to her out loud anyway.

He no longer was suicidal after all.

"I'm bac…" Itachi stopped dead in his steps when he saw Yasuo in front of Akane, sitting on his chair.

"Hey Itachi, look who's my neighbor!" Itachi closed the door behind him. "It turns out he lives two floors down!"

"Really?" Great, it was just…great. The smirk Yasuo had on his face was making his skin crawl but like hell he would let him see he was getting under his skin.

Akane nodded and stood up.

"How are you?" He smiled at her when she walked up to him with that adorable smile of hers.

"I'm good, you?" She nodded.

Yasuo stood up as well, his flak jacket under his arm. Apparently, Akane had not given it back like she had told him she would.

"It was nice catching up Akane, I'll see you tomorrow night then." She nodded. Itachi raised a brow at her, and she waved him off.

He hated the smug smirk on Yasuo's face, so Itachi slipped his arm around Akane's waist to pull her closer to him. She raised a brow at him and Yasuo's smirk disappeared.

"Thank you for lending her your jacket last time Yasuo, it was…considerate of you." Akane narrowed her eyes at him a little.

"Yeah sure." On this note, Yasuo left.

The second the door was closed, Akane was in front of him with a frown.

"Are you marking your territory or something?"

"Precisely," he confirmed without batting an eyelash, taking her by surprise.

"You don't need to, we talked about it." He scoffed. "Really! I asked him how he was, his parents and all of that and eventually he confessed he had feelings for me but knew I was taken and that he wanted to stay friends with me." Itachi shook his head. "What?"

"You seriously believed him?"

"…why wouldn't I?" He almost sighed at how oblivious she could be sometimes, despite technically being sixteen years older than him.

"If we break up, do you think we could stay friends?"

"Huh…that's different."

"Alright. When we were not together and 'friends' or 'teammates', whatever you want to call it after you turned me down, the only thing I could think of was that I hated the situation and wanted you all to myself." She blushed a little. "Now, Yasuo, who's an Uchiha and had a hard time when you left, do you really think he will just stay 'friend' without hoping for more?" She pursed her lips. "I don't want to break your fantasy my love, but the second he thinks there's a window, he's going to try to get you now he told you he had a crush on you." She mumbled something. "What?"

"He said he was in love with me," she said louder. Huh, he really hoped it was a silly crush. "Apparently, since I kicked his bullies when we were in school he…started to develop feelings for me." He clicked his tongue in annoyance. "It's not as if I had ever seen him in this light but…yeah, that's what he said."

"What is happening tomorrow night?"

"Oh, a get together at the Akimichi restaurant. Shinko saw me today and said Kou and Yasuo were coming, Tenma too and that I was invited. She asked me to drag you there by force if I needed, so you're going out tomorrow night." He pursed his lips. "What is it?"

"You really want to go?" She furrowed her brows.

"Not really, but I know I, well we, need to go out and relax every once in a while, with people who are not us or our families." He was not enthusiastic. "How long has it been since you have properly seen your teammates?"

"Honestly? Years." She sighed. "Maybe not years, but a long time. Usually Shikaku-sensei is the one setting a meeting every six months to make sure we stay in touch but with everything I'd say it has been a year."

"It's different from 'years'." He shrugged.

"I can't say I was actively taking part in the reunions." He would go, order something to eat and drink and listen to his teammates. "I'm fine with staying inside." She put her finger on his chest.

"Hey, when you were a wanted criminal? Fine, it was understandable. But now? You are going out every once in a while." He opened his mouth. "Please 'tachi." He pursed his lips.

"Alright." She grinned and hugged him. "However, don't take what Tenma might tell you at heart."

"Huh?"

"He's never liked you very much because he thought strings were pulled for you, so you leaving did not leave a good impression." She looked down. He put his hand between her shoulder blades. "Frankly, I just don't want to deal with his bullshit."

"Wow."

"What?"

"I'll never not be surprised to hear you use vulgarities."

"Sometimes I just don't have the strength to remain polite." She raised her face to him, her hands clenched in his shirt.

"Here I thought I was just a bad influence."

"I wouldn't say that." She raised a brow. "I know I can be myself around you, like with Shisui, that's all."

"Hum. And because you've spent so many years burying your real self deep, deep down it still has not come out entirely." He cupped her face, lowering his lips toward hers.

"See? I don't even need to tell you because you already know what's up." She smirked, a teasing glint in her eyes.

"I have years of practice behind me." He smiled he kissed her. "I will never not be surprised to see you like a pouty, needy five-year-old."

"I'm sorry?" he asked her, moving back.

"You do," she chuckled. "When you come home, or I come home, the first thing you do is hug me and kiss me."

"You gave me bad habits."

"And now you're asking for them." She kissed his cheek. "And when we bicker it's beautiful. You turn into a prick, and you love to annoy me a little bit too much but it's always nice to see your playful and boyish side, just like it is nice to hear your dry sense of humor and your sarcasm that could give mine a run for its money. It makes you so…human, it's refreshing, and reassuring, to see you like this when I've seen you as a shinobi and as the perfect heir so many times. It's…reassuring to see this side of you never really died." She stopped and blushed when she realized what she was saying.

It was nothing next to him. His face was burning.

"Thank God for once you're the one blushing." He put the back of his hand against his nose and looked away. "You're so cute."

"Stop it."

"So, so cuteeeeeee…" He pinched her nose. "You're truly adorable 'tachi-chan," she said in a nasal voice. He moved her head around, trying to make her stop but she continued, whining for him to let her go between giggles.

"You think it is funny huh."

"How many times have you teased me for blushing?" she asked him. He smirked. "What?"

"I can't take you seriously when you talk like this." She slapped his hand away and took a deep breath through her nose. He wiped his hand on her shirt. "Dude!" He frowned at her. "Hey, you deserve being relegated to 'dude'."

"Hn."

"Oh come on!" He poked her forehead.

"My mother is having us for lunch on Sunday." She widened her eyes. "Yes it is at home and yes, my father will be here. Yes, he is aware and no, my mother did not give any of us the choice."

"Is it karma for making fun of you being nervous over my birthday dinner?" She sighed. "Yagura is supposed to arrive on Saturday by the way." Itachi slid his hands down her arms to take her hands. "Itachi?"

"Is it wrong of me to say I think civilian life suits you better?" he asked her in a whisper, not wanting to offend her. She smiled faintly.

"Only if it is wrong if I say the same thing about you." He leaned his chin on her head. "But, I don't think there's anything wrong about thinking a life where your significant other is away from danger is wrong."

"Akane…" he whispered, letting go of her hands to put his on her hips as he kissed her full and pretty lips.

He walked her to her bed and pushed her on it. She watched him take his shirt off with desire and welcomed him back on top of her, her hands on his face as he kissed her again.

"Hi!" Shinko exclaimed when she saw us, standing up from her chair. She hugged me and I stepped back, taken back.

"Hey."

"And you brought Itachi, finally!" she continued, her hands on my shoulders as she looked at her teammate. Itachi averted his gaze from hers.

She had cut her hair to her shoulders and had bangs now. Tenma had not changed much though, he just grew taller and broader, with a stubble. He nodded at us both and took a sip of his drink.

Well, he was as judgy as in my memories.

"You keep ignoring us I'm making your next check-up very painful," Shinko threatened Itachi, now standing in front of him with a scolding look.

"You're not my doctor." Shinko smiled sweetly at him.

Then, without any notice, Itachi bent forward, Shinko's fist in his stomach.

"I can ask favors to my colleagues. Like my cute kohai Sakura-chan."

"She's too close t…" I put my hand on his mouth.

"Heh, it looks like Akane-chan knows better what's good for you." She sat back down.

"Have you lost your survival instinct?" I asked him in a whisper. Itachi rubbed his stomach.

"I just said the truth," he retorted quietly.

"Doesn't matter, you don't talk back to your medic teammate." We sat down. I was in front of Shinko and Itachi was in front of Tenma.

Yasuo and Kou arrived a few minutes later and I was trapped between the two Uchihas. Despite Itachi, Yasuo seemed to be in a good mood and there was not too much tension. The food was good, the conversations was good even if Itachi was the quietest next to me and there was a good vibe. It was bringing back good memories. I ignored Tenma's weary looks in my direction though.

I was taking a sip of water when he spoke up.

"How's Kiri?" I choked on my water, and everybody stopped talking to look at him. No one had asked, well Shinko really because Kou and Yasuo knew enough.

"Tenma!" Shinko said with wide eyes.

"What? I'm just asking what everyone's wondering." I put my glass down.

"It was different, but it is getting better now."

"Dai said there were restaurants we needed to try out next time we were there," Yasuo stated, Kou nodding in front of him. "The seafood was gre…"

"And you're a Swordsman now, right? Or is it Swordswoman?" I saw Yasuo raise his head to look at the ceiling.

"I am." Kou was getting more and more stern. Itachi's eyes were set on his teammate, and they were cold as ice, like his face. His whole body was tensed.

When you knew him enough, you knew that his apparent lack of emotion was actually him hiding how he was feeling.

"Tenma can you stop? It's supposed to be a happy reunion," Shinko said more quietly. Tenma scoffed.

"A happy reunion? She was a traitor until a few months ago, am I the only one to remember her face in the Bingo Book or something? She's not one of us and I've been saying that from the beginning!" He pointed at Kou and Yasuo. "You were replaced! And you?" He looked at Itachi. "She's had you wrapped around her finger for years and now is using you…" I stood up and left.

I took a deep breath when I was outside. I wasn't alone for too long as Yasuo and Kou found me quickly. I wasn't far anyway, just on the roof of the building in front of the restaurant.

"Don't mind him, you know he's an idiot," Kou assured me.

"Oh I know." They shared a look.

"Wait, you didn't leave because you were upset?" Yasuo asked me. I turned around to look at them.

"It did look like that but no, Tenma's opinion of me is the least of my worries. I left because Itachi pinched my thigh."

"He…pinched your thigh?" Kou repeated, dumbfounded.

"Yeah. The message was clear, Tenma's his teammate and he wanted to deal with him. Talk to him, deal with him makes him sound like he's going to kill him."

"And you got that from him pinching your thigh?"

"It was not a gentle pinch, my skin must be red now. Anyway, he wanted to deal with him."

"And you let him?" I raised a brow at Yasuo.

"Well, as much as I love to say I'm a big girl and can handle myself just fine, it is his teammate. If he wants to deal with him, then I'm going to let him. Plus, I don't want to say something that could ruin their relationship." I shrugged. "There are stuff I can do on my own but that he cares about doing, so I let him and put my foot down when needed only."

"…you're pretty chill in everyday life, I guess it makes sense you'd be a chill girlfriend too," Kou muttered.

"You do realize your whole perception of me is based on your own arrogance as a child, right?" He sighed.

"Yeah, I know, don't remind me."

"You knew what he wanted you to do without a word?" Yasuo asked with a frown. I shrugged.

"I know the guy. I bet that he comes in a few minutes, and he'll say he paid for you guys because he understands you don't want to get back there after he disrespected me or something."

"No way," Yasuo said immediately.

"I don't know, it does sound like Itachi a little." Damn right Kou, it sounded like him.

Five minutes later, Itachi joined us.

"I've paid for all of us, you can pay me back later," he told us sternly, clearly still upset.

"Told you," I told the boys. "Should we go?" He nodded. I looked at my teammates. "Go home safely boys, I'll see you around." I used the Hiraishin to go home with Itachi. I removed my shoes without bothering tidying up behind me.

I did the same with my clothes, taking them off as I went to the bathroom, taking my Pjs on the way. Once in front of the mirror, I leaned on the sink with a big sigh.

"You told them you were not upset, didn't you?" Itachi asked me, leaning against the doorframe, his arms crossed.

"I wasn't as upset as you and I didn't lie to them, you did pinch my thigh."

"To tell you I would handle it. I know the look in your eyes, I saw it too many times in the Land of Water." I shrugged and started to remove my makeup.

"You were still more upset than I was." When I was done patting my face dry once I had washed it, I started my skincare. "What did you tell him?"

"That with the little information he had he could not say anything. He got mad, said I should just tell him, and I said he was not high-rank."

"Aouch."

"It's true, I'm not going to give him confidential information just like this. If he doesn't want to speak to me for now, too bad."

"And Shinko?"

"She apologized and apologizes to you."

"It's not her fault."

"That's what I told her, but still. She was embarrassed because they are dating." Right…she could do better.

"Apart from that, it was a good time."

"Hn." I started brushing my teeth when he lowered his lids, his eyes now only half opened. "Don't bother with what he said Akane."

Tenma did hit where it hurt but…I meant it when I told the guys I couldn't care less about him. Two minutes later, I spat the toothpaste and rinsed my mouth before shooting Itachi a toothy grin in the mirror like a kid. He smiled faintly and shook his head.

"What am I going to do with you?"

"Feed me, love me, never leave me." He nodded and joined me, stealing a kiss from me.

"I like that plan." I left the bathroom and went to bed, noticing my clothes were in the laundry hamper and my shoes were together next to his. I sighed softly, somehow finding his need to have things tidied and neat in his space adorable and hot.

Thank God for his parents.

When he left the bathroom, I watched him get undressed, sitting in my bed hugging my knees to my chest. Sadly, he put Pjs as well.

"What is it?" he asked me with a cocked eyebrow.

"In the terrible case we break up, can I hire you as a maid?" He picked up his shirt and threw it in my face. "But why?"

"I'm too expensive." I threw him his shirt back. A few seconds later, I was pretty much lying on top of him in my bed.

"You're still okay to do my nails tomorrow?" He sighed. "What, it's not my fault you're stupidly good at manicure and pedicure after years of practice!"

"I'm the worker, you pay for anything I need," he stated firmly, turning the light off.

"Yup!" I kissed him on the lips. "Night." He kissed the crown of my head.

"Good night my love." I smiled like an idiot in his shirt.
