The library door slammed open, the Queen and her friends quickly ran in to see Hades waiting for them. At his side was Horace who held on tightly to his old friend.
"Ladies! You gotta get outta here!" Goofy called.
They turned to see the King's friends wrapped together in black smoke, struggling wildly.
"Hang on!" Daisy called, she and Clarabelle hurrying to their side.
Hades didn't seem to mind this. After all, the Queen was the one he really wanted to see. "Greetings, Your mouse-igsty. Glad you could make it on such short notice!"
Minnie narrowed her eyes. "Hades, why are you here?!"
"Isn't it obvious?" He suddenly plucked the crown from the king's head and put it on his own. "I plan to become ruler of your little world, along with all the rest!"
"We'll never let that happen." Minnie huffed.
"Oh, really?" He smirked before grabbing Mickey by the chin, turning him to her. "Not even to save your precious little king?"
Minnie hesitated. She looked over to Horrace then, hoping he'd have a change of heart. "Please, Horrace. Look at what you're allowing to happen…"
He looked over to see Daisy and Clarabelle doing everything in their power to try and release the others and then to the King.
"She's right, pal." Mickey whispered. "Please, let us go…"
Horace softened at that, tears coming to his eyes. "I'm sorry, Mickey… Hades is the bad guy here, he's the one who made me-!"
"Oh, save it!"
They looked to Hades who knew Horace was considering it.
"I only suggested some things." Hades shrugged. "A little sabotage here, some jealousy there, you didn't have to do it. So I'm not letting you whine and cry to your king saying big bad Hades made you do it. You blame everyone but yourself, you know that? That's your own darkness. Show some pride, huh?"
Horace deflated, knowing it was true.
"Or you could just look miserable, that works too." The god muttered, rubbing his temples in annoyance. "Look, I can't have anyone else's sob story interrupting the Queen and I's conversion, you all get that, don't you?"
Mickey attempted to speak only for smoke to quickly gag him along with the rest of his friends.
Daisy gave a muffled yell in anger and attempted to run at the god but he made a wall of fire, blocking her and Clarabelle from assisting.
"Everyone just needs to chill out, it's getting a bit heated in here." He chuckled before turning to the Queen. "Ready to give up your world yet, Your Highness?"
Minnie looked worriedly between her husband and her friends before looking back to Hades. She narrowed her eyes. "That's not why you're here. If that was all, you would've just tried to take over already while I was away! What are you really after?
He waited for a moment and then smirked. "Clever as always…. Say, do you know a Master Xehanort by any chance? Old, dark, creepy, really almost a corpse-"
"You know him?!" Minnie gasped in shock.
"So you do! Well, we go way back. He's actually the one who told me about the other worlds, and even gave me two wielders to test on darkness, really gave me all the experience needed to 'befriend' Sora."
Minnie gritted her teeth in anger at the mention of him using her dear friends. "You-!"
"Don't interrupt, I'm not even at the best part." He continued, knowing he was upsetting her. "Then he told me about the seven Princes of Heart, and how I could use them to conquer the worlds. … Well, we all know how that went. After some adventures while sunspot took that long nap, a new friend told me another way to get the worlds. An item needed to understand every detail about the worlds, including how to conquer them. Only thing is, I can't find it. That's where you come in."
"But I don't know anything about this mysterious thing…"
"You don't, but I'm sure our friends in the datascape would say otherwise!"
Minnie's eyes widened in shock, Daisy and Clarabelle gave muffled cries. She placed her hand worriedly to her pocket where the journal and device to view it were. She'd kept them on her for safe keeping. "You said you'd leave the datascape alone!"
"Wrongo, I just said I wouldn't conquer it." Hades reminded her. "I won't hurt a single pixel on their little bodies… as long as they decide not to cough up the answers I need. Now, give it here."
Minnie dropped her hand away before shaking her head, summoning her keyblade.
"Ah, ah, ah!"
She gasped as the wall of fire suddenly roared, nearly burning her friends and husband beside it. "No!"
"I wouldn't try anything stupid. Flames can spread so quickly…"
The Queen bit her lip in worry, glancing down at her pocket. The data versions of Kairi, Sora and Riku were strong, the duo had taken down all the hurt in the journal after all and Kairi beat the beast that had trapped Hades himself. They would be able to protect themselves but that didn't mean she wanted to give them up.
"Tick tock!" Hades sang, creating a burst of fire in his hand. "Let's say you have to the count of 3 before I come get it myself. 1…"
Hades didn't notice a nearby rip in space was slowly expanding, darkness pouring out from it.
"2…!"
Minnie saw it out of the corner of her eye and braced herself for whoever was coming out, how would she be able to block both?
"3!"
Six knives flew out of the corridor, slicing through the strands of smoke while someone blocked the Queen from Hades' blast that knocked them both back.
"No! Don't you go anywhere!" Hades growled but the others were already running to their Queen.
Mickey quickly took his wife from her rescuer, caressing her face. "Minnie! Minnie, wake up!"
She slowly opened her eyes and gave a small smile. "I'm right here, dear."
Hades looked around wildly until his eyes landed on the book and device that had fallen out in the struggle. He smirked.
Horace gulped, seeing the coated figure summon their knives once more. "Uh, my lord? Shall we leave?"
"We shall!" Hades proclaimed, swiping the objects from the floor. He showed them to the others as if to gloat. "We got what we came for, after all."
"Stop him!" Minnie yelled but it was too late, they were gone in a burst of flames. "No…"
"He has the computer." Daisy whispered.
"And the data with our friends inside…" Clarabelle finished.
"Sorry about that." A familiar voice mumbled. She took off her hood, revealing her face. "I really was trying to help…"
"Yeah, right! You made everything worse!" Donald growled, summoning his wand.
Daisy summoned her sword as well. "And you used darkness to get here! Come on, Donald! We better kick her out before putting the shield back up!"
"Wait!" The Queen called. She slid in front of the woman after getting back up. "I think she means it. Don't you, Larxene?"
"It's Elrena." The woman answered, rolling her eyes at the mistake Minnie couldn't have known she was making. "… And I want to help you guys."
"Help us? What for?" Clarabelle asked curiously.
She smirked before placing a finger in front of her lips. "My little secret."
