Lumiose Conference
Kevin and his friends were walking down a road back to Lumiose City. One month has passed since they all started training for the Kalos League.
During that time, Kevin's Greninja learned Hydro Pump and Night Slash, his Talonflame learned Steel Wing and Brave Bird, his Venusaur grew a lot stronger, his Vivillon learned Powder, his Golurk learned Hammer Arm, Focus Punch, and Phantom Force; and his Tyrantrum learned Head Smash, Rock Slide, and Giga Impact.
Also, Kevin met a woman who helped his Tyrantrum learn Draco Meteor which he felt would come in handy at the Kalos League.
Rolf's Delphox learned Magic Room, Fire Blast, and Future Sight; his Diggersby learned Earthquake and Hammer Arm, his Pidgeot learned Mirror Move, Air Slash, and Hurricane; his Beedrill became a lot stronger, his Blastoise learned Hydro Pump, and his Gogoat learned Milk Drink, Earthquake, and Aerial Ace.
Jonny's Chesnaught learned Hammer Arm and Giga Impact, his Linoone learned Belly Drum and Fling, his Charizard learned Inferno, Heat Wave, and Flare Blitz, his Ninjask and Clawitzer have both gotten stronger, and his Krookodile learned Outrage.
Nazz's Florges, Farfetch'd, Dedenne, and Corsola have all gotten stronger, her Pyroar learned Overheat, and her Gardevoir learned Captivate, Hypnosis, and Dream Eater.
"We've been doing a lot of training this past month." said Nazz.
"Yeah, but we need to be sure we'll be ready for the competition." said Kevin.
"Where is this contest of Pokemon at, Kevin?" asked Rolf.
"I heard it was at a stadium in Lumiose City called the Lumiose Stadium." said Kevin.
"Let's check it out!" said Jonny as he runs off down the road with his friends following after him.
They all soon arrive at Lumiose City and asked someone where the Lumiose Stadium was; when they got directions, they head over to the location and soon find it.
"Dude." said Kevin as he looks at the large stadium with awe. "This place is awesome."
"This place is cool, isn't it, Plank." said Jonny.
"Are you still talking to that piece of firewood?" Jonny hears a familiar voice ask him. Frowning, Jonny turns and sees Tony.
"Hello, Tony." said Jonny, bitterly. "So, did you win the Iceberg Badge from Wulfric?" Tony responds by taking out a badge case, opens it, and shows Jonny his eight badges.
"Does this answer your question?" asked Tony. "Now I have the chance to settle the score with you after that defeat you handed me outside Ambrette Town."
"Well, I hope I face you and beat you for that firewood remark you made on my buddy." said Jonny, holding Plank out towards Tony. He rolls his eyes in response and walks towards the stadium entrance. As they do, Carter skateboards in front of them and stops, making them do so also.
"Hey, dweeb." Carter says to Kevin.
"Dork." Kevin replies
"Here for the Lumiose Conference?" asked Carter.
"Why else would I be here?" Kevin replies.
"To watch me win the whole thing." said Carter.
"So, you won your Iceberg Badge also?" asked Kevin.
"You know it." said Carter. "And I'm hoping to settle the score with you."
"That makes two of us." said Kevin.
"As fun as it was to get all caught up with you, I have to go register; see ya around, dweeb." said Carter before he gets on his skateboard and rides off.
"Dork." said Kevin.
"Don't listen to him, Kevin." said Nazz. "We should go get registered also."
"Yeah, let's go." said Kevin as he and his friends head off to Lumiose Stadium. As Rolf looks around, he accidentally bumps into someone.
"Hey, watch it, bumpkin!" said a voice that Rolf recognized, making him look to see Austin with coffee spilled all over his shirt.
"Oh, it is you, Austin." said Rolf with a frown.
"You made me spill my latte all over my shirt!" said Austin.
"Rolf apologizes." Rolf says in an insincere voice. "So has Austin won his Iceberg Badge also?"
"Of course." said Austin. "Was there ever a doubt?"
"Lots of it." said Kevin with a smirk, making Austin glare at him before looking back at Rolf.
"I really hope I face you at the Lumiose Conference." said Austin.
"Rolf hopes to do so, also." said Rolf as he and Austin glare at each other.
"Now if you'll all excuse me, I have to get a new shirt and get registered." said Austin before he goes off to find a clothing store.
"What a dork." said Kevin.
"Rolf agrees." said Rolf. The group soon arrives at the Lumiose Stadium and go over to the registration desk.
"Hello." said the desk clerk as the group approaches her. "Are you here to register for the Lumiose Conference?"
"You bet we are." said Kevin as he pulls out his badge case and opens it to show all eight of his gym badges, prompting the others to do the same also.
"Thank you." said the desk clerk as she types the group's information into a computer. "The preliminary matches will be tomorrow afternoon in the stadium."
"Thanks." said Kevin. The clerk then gives them directions to the hotel that has a room reserved for them and they exit the stadium. After several minutes of walking, they arrived at the hotel. After entering, they walked towards the receptionist desk; as they do, Nazz sees Charlotte, sitting on a chair in the lobby.
"Hey, Charlotte." said Nazz, getting Charlotte's attention.
"Oh, it's you." replied Charlotte, dryly.
"So, I take it you won the Iceberg Badge also." said Nazz, cheerfully.
"Yes." replied Charlotte.
"Well, good luck at the Lumiose Conference." said Nazz.
"Whatever." replied Charlotte with a frown.
"Come on, cheer up." said Nazz. "You're about to compete in the biggest competition in the Kalos Region."
"I haven't been cheerful in years." replied Charlotte.
"Look; it bites about what happened with you and Teddiursa, but you have to move on." said Nazz.
"Don't tell me what to do; Teddiursa was my friend, and she got taken from me." said Charlotte.
"Fine. I'll see you in the Lumiose Conference." said Nazz. She and the rest of the group walked towards the receptionist desk.
Charlotte looks around before reaching into her bag and pulls out the orange ribbon that belonged to Teddiursa; she looks at it for several second before she looks up to see Rita entering the hotel. She looks around until she saw Charlotte, staring at her; she frowns in response before walking towards the receptionist desk.
Kevin and the others go up to their hotel room after getting their key from the lobby; when they go into it, they were amazed at how luxurious it looked.
"Whoa!" said Jonny. The room was huge, with a living room that had a big screen TV, a large couch and recliner, and a coffee table; there was a dining area with a large round table with four cushioned chairs around it; they also saw two bedrooms that each had a pair of twin beds in them, along with a nightstand by each one with lamps, and a big screen TV in each one.
"This is so rad!" said Nazz as she runs over to the couch and sits on it, prompting everyone else to sit down, with Jonny and Kevin sitting with Nazz while Rolf gets the recliner.
"I'll bet the Eds had a room this nice in Sinnoh." said Kevin.
"Plank and I can get used to this." said Jonny.
"Hey, I heard that there's a party for trainers in the competition tonight in the hotel's ballroom.
"Righteous!" said Kevin.
"Plank and I can't wait to go there." said Jonny.
"Let's get cleaned up first." said Nazz as she sees she was a little dirty from the travelling they did.
"Good call." said Kevin. When they look in the bathroom, they all see a jacuzzi tub, which they liked. They each took turns taking baths for privacy sakes.
That night in the hotel's ballroom, all the trainers that will be competing in the Lumiose Conference were hanging around, talking about their gym battles and showing off their Pokemon. There was also a very large buffet table which everyone got food from, with Rolf mainly taking meat. It was a mostly pleasant event, except for the group's rivals staring at them from time to time.
The party ended with everyone standing outside the hotel, watching a spectacular fireworks display up in the night sky.
"I'm really glad we went on this Pokemon journey." said Nazz.
"We're seeing lots of cool stuff!" said Kevin.
"And meeting all sorts of people." said Jonny.
"You mean like Korrina?" asked Nazz with a smirk, making Jonny look away with a smile and blush.
"Tomorrow's going to be so awesome." said Kevin.
"Yeah, for me, dweeb." said Carter.
"So, you think it'll be awesome when you lose, dork?" Kevin replied.
"No, but it'll be a lot more awesome for me when I crush you myself if we do face each other." said Carter.
"Guys, just chill." said Nazz. "We're supposed to be having fun; this is a party after all." Kevin and Carter just look away from each other with huffs.
Soon, everyone goes back to their hotel rooms and go to bed in order to rest up for the big tournament tomorrow.
The next morning, everyone wakes up and has breakfast.
"Today's the day, everyone." said Kevin as he takes a bite of some toast.
"Rolf is eager to begin his battling." said Rolf as he chews on some bacon.
"I hope we at least take on our rivals." said Nazz after taking a sip of juice.
"Yeah, I want to teach Tony a lesson." said Jonny as he eats some eggs.
After everyone finished eating and have the bellboy collect their dishes, they all grab their pokeballs and head to the Lumiose Stadium. They go to the main section of it where all the trainers are gathered. A couple of people walk over to an oversized pokeball and open it up, releasing a bunch of Fletchlings into the air.
"Greetings, trainers." a familiar voice says, making everyone look around and see Diantha standing on a platform high up on the stadium wall. "I welcome you all to this year's Lumiose Conference. I look forward to watching you all battle in order to win the championship. Battle with honor and pride with your Pokemon and may the best trainer win."
"That's gonna be me!" said Austin.
"Rolf will win!" said Rolf.
"I doubt anyone who talks to wood will make it far." said Tony.
"Plank says your breath smells like a Gulpin's." said Jonny, making Tony growl.
"I don't need any lip from you!" Tony shouts to Plank before a shocked look appeared on his face. "Great, now I'm talking to kindling."
"I can't wait for this tournament to be over; the people cheering is giving me a headache." said Charlotte, rubbing her temples.
"Would it hurt to be positive?" Nazz asked Charlotte.
"Maybe." replied Charlotte.
"I hope I get to take on a certain dweeb." said Carter as he looks at Kevin.
"I hope I get to crush a certain dork!" said Kevin.
The group has finally made it to the Lumiose Conference. Who among the dozens of trainers gathered there will claim the championship? Wait and find out.
