Jonny vs Tony
It was the next day, and it was the day of the quarterfinals of the Lumiose Conference at the Lumiose Stadium. In a locker room, Jonny was sitting on a bench, waiting for his battle with his rival, Tony; with him, were Kevin, Rolf, Nazz, and Plank.
"You nervous, pal?" asked Kevin.
"Not really; I want to teach Tony not to be a meanie, right, Plank?" replied Jonny.
"That's the spirit, Jonny." said Nazz.
"Such bravery." said Rolf. Just then, an announcement came over the PA system.
"Will Jonny and Tony please report to the forest battlefield." said a woman's voice over the PA. "Your match will begin in twenty minutes." Jonny stands up from the bench he was sitting on.
"Let's go, Plank." said Jonny.
"You're bringing Plank with you out there?" asked Nazz.
"Plank wants to cheer for me up close." said Jonny.
"Okay, sure." said Kevin. He, Rolf, and Nazz watch as Jonny walks out of the locker room.
"Come on, let's get to our seats." said Nazz. She, Kevin, and Rolf left the locker room to get to their seats in the stadium so they can cheer for Jonny. Several minutes later, Kevin, Rolf, and Nazz make it to their seats.
"It is day two of the Lumiose Conference." said the announcer. "Today, there will be four quarterfinal matches where four trainers will have the opportunity to advacne to the semifinals." Everyone in the audience, including Kevin, Rolf, and Nazz begin to roar with applause. "Let's start things off with our first match, Jonny vs Tony; they will be competing against one another on the forest battlefield." Jonny was walking down one walkway of the battlefield with Plank while Tony is walking down another walkway until both trainers reaches the end of them.
"You actually brought that doorstop out here with you?" asked Tony with amusement; he began looking around at the trees. "I suppose your friend wants to be close to what could be relatives." Jonny frowns in response. An offical walks to the center of the battlefield.
"This quarterfinal match will be between Jonny and Tony." said the official. "Each trainer will use three Pokemon. The battle will end when one trainer's Pokemon are unable to battle. The trainer who still has Pokemon remaining will be the winner. Let the battle begin." The official walks off the battlefield while Jonny pulls out a Pokemon while Tony pulls out a Net Ball.
"Go!" shouts Jonny and Tony in unison, throwing their pokeballs. Jonny's Clawitzer comes out of his pokeball while a red, lobster like Pokemon with a tan underside and a yellow star on its forehead comes out of Tony's Net Ball. Nazz points the pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Crawdaunt, the Rogue Pokemon, and the evolved form of Corphish. Loving to battle, this Pokémon pinches all Pokémon that enter its territory with its pincers and throws them out." said the pokedex.
"Tony's Corphish evolved." said Nazz.
"It looks like a battle between two water Pokemon as Jonny sends out a Clawitzer while Tony sends out a Crawdaunt." said the announcer.
"Okay, Crawdaunt, use Night Slash!" said Tony. Crawdaunt runs at Clawitzer while his right pincer glows white and he strikes Clawitzer with it, knocking him back.
"Use Aura Sphere!" said Jonny. Clawitzer opens his larger pincer and forms a blue ball of energy in it; he fires it at Crawdaunt and hits him, dealing super effective damage to it.
"Good thing Crawdaunt's part dark type; they're weak against fighting type moves like Aura Sphere." said Nazz.
"And Clawitzer's Mega Launcher ability made Aura Sphere even more powerful." said Kevin. Back on the forest battlefield.
"Crawdaunt, use Crunch!" said Tony. Crawdaunt runs at Clawitzer and bites him, dealing damage, and weakening his defense.
"Clawitzer, use Dragon Pulse!" said Jonny. Clawitzer forms a turquoise ball of energy in his large pincer; he fires it at Crawdaunt and it hits him, dealing damage.
"Crawdaunt, use Knock Off!" said Tony. Crawdaunt runs at Clawitzer with his left claw glowing white and he strikes Clawitzer with it, dealing more damage than it normally would due to his defense being decreased, and making Clawitzer drop his Wave Incense.
"Clawitzer, use Aura Sphere!" said Jonny. Clawitzer fires another blue energy sphere out of his large pincer and it hits Crawdaunt, dealing super effective damage to him.
"Crawdaunt, use Crunch!" said Tony. Crawdaunt runs at Clawitzer and bites him, dealing more damage than the previous Crunch attack due to Clawitzer's defense being weakened; Clawitzer struggles to stay standing.
"Clawitzer, use Flail!" said Jonny. Clawitzer runs at Crawdaunt and repeatedly strikes him with his large pincer; Crawdaunt falls to the ground with swirly eyes.
"Crawdaunt is unable to battle. Clawitzer wins the match." said the announcer.
"Jonny's Clawitzer had beaten Tony's Crawdaunt; now Tony has only two Pokemon remaining." said the announcer.
"Way to go, Jonny!" said Nazz.
"You go, man!" cheered Kevin. Tony returns Crawdaunt to his pokeball; he puts it away and pulls out another one.
"Go, Electrode!" said Tony, throwing a pokeball and releasing a Pokemon that resembled a large pokeball with eyes and a mouth. Nazz points the pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Electrode, the Ball Pokemon, and the evolved form of Voltorb. It stores an overflowing amount of electric energy inside its body. Even a small shock makes it explode." said the pokedex.
"And Tony's next Pokemon is an Electrode." said the announcer.
"Electrode, use Charge!" said Tony. Electrode becomes surrounded by yellow sparks and its special defense increases.
"Clawitzer, use Crabhammer!" said Jonny. Clawitzer jumps at Electrode and strikes it with his larger pincer, damaging it. Clawitzer suddenly begins twitching and his body was covered in static.
"Looks like Clawitzer activated Electrode's Static ability." said Tony.
"Now Clawitzer's paralyzed!" said Jonny.
"Exactly; now Electrode, Electro Ball!" said Tony. Electrode forms a yellow ball of electricty above it and it launches it at Clawitzer, hitting him, and dealing super effective damage to him, knocking him out.
"Clawitzer is unable to battle. Electrode wins the match." said the official.
"Tony's Electrode has beaten Jonny's Clawitzer; now both trainers have two Pokmeon remaining." said the announcer. "What Pokemon will Jonny bring out next?" Jonny returns Clawitzer to his pokeball.
"I'm proud of you, Clawitzer." said Jonny.
"Having a conversation with your pokeball?" asked Tony with a smug look on his face; he then looks at Plank and puts his ear against his mouth.
"Sure, Plank; I'll wipe that look off his face." said Jonny. He puts Clawitzer's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Krookodile, go!" He throws Krookodile's pokeball and releases her.
"And Jonny's next Pokemon is a Krookodile." said the announcer.
"Okay, Krookodile, use Dig!" said Jonny. Krookdile digs herself into the battlefield.
"Electrode, use Magnet Rise!" said Tony. Yellow sparks of electricity come out of Electrode's body and lifts it off the ground. Krookdile bursts out of the ground, but couldn't hit Electrode. "What do you think? Magnet Rise makes my Electrode immune to ground type moves for a while."
"No way!" replied Jonny.
"Way." replied Tony. "Electrode, use Swift!" Electrode unleashes stars from its body and they hit Krookodile, damaging her.
"Ground type moves may not work on Electrode right now, but she knows more than ground type moves." said Jonny. "Krookodile, Crunch!" Krookdile charges at Electrode while her teeth were glowing white and she bites Electrode, damaging it, and weakening its defense.
"Electrode, Sonic Boom!" said Tony. Electrode spins around and releases a white shockwave that hits Krookodile, knocking her back.
"Krookodile, use Foul Play!" said Jonny. Krookodile grabs Electrode and slams it onto the ground, dealing damage to it.
"Electrode, use Swift!" said Tony. Electrode unleashes more stars from its body and they hit Krookdile, damaging her.
"Krookodile, use Assurance!" said Jonny. Krookodile charges at Electrode and rams it, knocking it back.
"Electrode, use Sonic Boom!" said Tony. Electrode spins around and releases another shockwave that hits Krookodile, damaging her.
"Krookodile, Crunch!" said Jonny. Krookodile charges at Electrode and bites it, dealing damage and further weakening its defense. Electrode suddenly drops back down to the ground.
"It looks like Magnet Rise wore off." said Nazz.
"Sweet; now ground type moves should work on Electrode now." said Kevin. Tony growls in frustration.
"Electrode, use Self-Destruct!" said Tony, surprising Jonny. Electrode glows white and it explodes; the explosion goes over Krookdile. When the smoke from the explosion cleared, both Krookodile and Electrode were unconscious.
"Krookodile and Electrode are both unable to battle. This battle is a draw." said the official.
"In what appears to be an act of desperation, Tony had Electrode blow itself up to take out Jonny's Krookodile." said the announcer.
"That was so not cool!" yelled Nazz.
"Such a dishonorable move." said Rolf.
"Man, if Ed saw that, he'd be so mad." said Kevin. "I remember Double D mentioning that Ed hates that move and that Explosion move." Back on the battlefield, Jonny and Tony return their Pokemon to their pokeballs.
"You rest now, girl." said Jonny. He puts Krookodile's pokeball away and glares at Tony. "That was a dirty move, Tony."
"I'll do whatever it takes to win." replied Tony. Jonny looks at Plank.
"Don't worry, Plank; I won't show Tony any mercy." said Jonny.
"Jonny and Tony are now down to one Pokemon each; this next battle will determine the winner of this quarterfinal match." said the announcer. Jonny and Tony each pull out a pokeball.
"Chesnaught, go!" said Jonny, throwing Chesnaught's pokeball and releasing him.
"Jonny's final Pokemon is a Chesnaught." said the announcer.
"Go, Exploud!" said Tony, throwing Exploud's pokeball and releasing him. Nazz points the pokedex at Exploud.
"Exploud, the Loud Noise Pokemon, and the final evolved form of Whismur. Its roar in battle shakes the ground like a tremor-or like an earthquake has struck." said the pokedex.
"And Tony's last Pokemon is an Exploud." said the announcer.
"His Loudred must've evolved." said Kevin. Chesnaught and Exploud faced each other.
"Exploud's been wanting a rematch with your Pokemon since he first battled him back when he was a Quilladin." said Tony.
"Then I won't keep him waiting." replied Jonny. "Okay, Chesnaught, use Bulk Up!" Chesnaught becomes surrounded by a red aura and his body thickens, raising his attack and defense.
"Exploud, use Howl!" said Tony. Exploud lets out a loud howl and his attack strength increases.
"Chesnaught, Needle Arm!" said Jonny. Chesnaught's right hand becomes surrounded by a green, thorny ball of energy; he charges at Exploud and punches him, dealing damage to him; due to Chesnaught's Rose Incense and Bulk Up, Needle Arm dealt more damage than it normally would.
"Exploud, Fire Fang!" said Tony. Exploud charges at Chesnaught while fire surrounded his mouth and he bites Chesnaught, dealing super effective damage to him; fire covered Chesnaught's body. "Looks like Chesnaught's burned."
"Fight it, Chesnaught!" said Jonny. Chesnaught lets out a loud yell and the fire dispersed from his body.
"What?!" exclaimed Tony.
"Okay, Chesnaught, use Rock Smash!" said Jonny. Chesnaught raises an arm and smashes it onto Exploud, dealing super effective damage to it, and weakening its defense.
"Exploud, Boomburst!" said Tony. Exploud opens its mouth and unleashes powerful white soundwaves that hits Chesnaught, damaging him, but he remained standing.
"Chesnaught, Hammer Arm!" said Jonny. Chesnaught raises his arms and his forearms glowed white; he smashes them onto Exploud, dealing super effective damage to him, but lowering Chesnaught's speed in the process.
"Exploud, use Screech!" said Tony. Exploud lets out a loud yell and soundwaves comes out of his mouth and they hit Chesnaught, weakening his defense.
"Chesnaught, Rock Smash!" said Jonny. Chesnaught smashes his arm onto Exploud, dealing super effective damage to it, and further weakening his defense.
"Exploud, Ice Fang!" said Tony. Exploud charges at Chesnaught while ice covered his teeth and bites onto Chesnaught, dealing super effective damage to him. Chesnaught drops to one knee; he suddenly becomes surrounded by a green aura.
"Chesnaught's Overgrow ability." said Jonny. "All right, Chesnaught, Wood Hammer!" Chesnaught's right arm becomes surrounded by a green aura; he swings it and smashes it onto Exploud. Due to Overgrow, Bulk Up, Rose Incense, as well as Exploud's severely weakened defense, Wood Hammer dealt massive damage to Exploud, knocking him out; Chesnaught receives recoil damage from Wood Hammer, but he remained standing.
"Exploud is unable to battle. Chesnaught is the winner. The winner of this quarterfinal match is Jonny." said the official.
"We did it, Plank!" said Jonny.
'No, Jonny; you did it, all by yourself.' Jonny hears Plank say to him, making Jonny smile.
"And it's over! Jonny's Chesnaught has defeated Tony's Exploud's and earning Jonny the victory!" said the announcer.
"Way to go, Jonny!" said Kevin.
"Rolf is proud of Jonny." said Rolf.
"That was so cool!" said Nazz. Back on the battlefield, Tony returns Exploud to its pokeball; he puts it away and walks over to Jonny who was hugging Chesnaught. Jonny sees Tony walking over to him and he walks to him until they were near each other. They stare at each other until Tony extends a hand.
"Good battle, Jonny." said Tony, surprising Jonny; he smiles and shakes Tony's hand.
"Thanks, Tony." replied Jonny. Tony then gives Jonny pokedollars.
"Maybe we'll battle again someday." said Tony.
"Hope we do." said Jonny.
"I'll see you around." said Tony. He then looks at Plank. "You too, Plank." He turns and walks away.
"The next quarterfinal match will be between Rolf and Austin; it will take place in the town battlefield." said the announcer. "The match will begin in one hour."
Jonny has defeated his rival, Tony; now Rolf will have the chance to defeat his rival, Austin. Will he succeed? Find out.
