Snowbelle City
On Route 19, Kevin, Rolf, Jonny, and Nazz were travelling on their way to Snowpoint City where their next gym battle awaits them.
Right now, Rolf was facing a trainer who had a Stunfisk out in front of her.
"Diggersby, use Mud Shot!" shouts Rolf. Diggersby launches a glob of mud at the Stunfisk, hitting it, and doing super effective damage.
"Stunfisk, use Muddy Water!" shouts Stunfisk's trainer. The Stunfisk summons up a large wave of brown water which washes over Diggersby, doing super effective damage to him.
"Diggersby, use Mud-Slap!" said Rolf. Diggersby flings some mud at the Stunfisk's face, doing super effective damage, and lowering its accuracy.
"Stunfisk, use Water Gun!" shouts Stunfisk's trainer. The Stunfisk sprays a stream of water from its mouth, but thanks to its reduced accuracy, the water misses.
"Diggersby, use Double Kick!" said Rolf. Diggersby leaps at the Stunfisk and delivers two strong kicks to it that knock it out.
"You did it, Rolf!" cheered Jonny.
"Way to go, dude!" said Nazz. The Stunfisk's trainer returns it to its pokeball, then hands some pokedollars to Rolf.
"That was a good battle." said Stunfisk's trainer.
"Yes, Rolf enjoyed it very much." said Rolf. The trainer walks away as Rolf's friends join him.
"That was pretty good, man." said Kevin.
"Yes, the battles we had with Team Flare has made our Pokemon stronger." said Rolf.
"Let's keep on going." said Kevin.
"We're so close to Snowbelle City." said Jonny.
"I can't wait." said Nazz. They all continue to walk down the road.
"So, do you think this gym leader is the strongest one in this region like this Volkner guy in the Sinnoh region the Eds told us about?" asked Jonny.
"Maybe. We should get in some more training before we get to Snowbelle City." said Kevin.
"Rolf agrees with Kevin." said Rolf. The group then took their time to train their Pokemon in preparation for their upcoming gym battle.
Kevin's Greninja learned Extrasensory, Double Team, and Haze, his Talonflame learned Me First and Tailwind, his Vivillon learned Hurricane, his Venusaur learned Petal Blizzard and Solar Beam, his Golurk learned Earthquake, and his Tyrantrum learned Horn Drill.
Jonny's Chesnaught learned Pain Split and Wood Hammer, his Linoone learned Rest, his Charizard learned Fire Spin, his Ninjask learned X-Scissor, his Krookodile learned Earthquake, and his Clawitzer learned Muddy Water.
Rolf's Delphox learned Psychic and Sunny Day, his Pidgeot learned Tailwind, his Diggersby learned Facade, his Beedrill got stronger, his Gogoat learned Leaf Blade, and his Blastoise learned Rain Dance.
Nazz's Florges got stronger, her Farfetch'd learned Air Slash and Brave Bird, her Pyroar learned Hyper Voice and Incinerate, her Gardevoir learned Future Sight, her Dedenne learned Discharge, and her Corsola learned Earth Power and Flail.
Jonny's Linoone found a Hyper Potion with his Pickup ability while Nazz's Dedenne found a Full Heal. Kevin used his Dowsing Machine to look around the area for hidden items and finds a Net Ball.
"Hey, Nazz; you still got that Super Rod?" asked Kevin.
"You bet." replied Nazz, pulling the Good Rod out of her backpack.
"You mind if I borrow it?" asked Kevin.
"Sure, Kev." replied Nazz, giving Kevin the Good Rod. Kevin walks to a pond and casts the line of the Super Rod into it. After several seconds of waiting, something was pulling on the line of the Super Rod, hard.
"Whoa! I think I got a big one!" exclaimed Kevin as he pulls on the Super Rod. Kevin pulled on the Super Rod as hard as he could; he was able to pull out what was grabbing the line. On the other end of it was a large, dark blue, catfish like Pokemon with a yellow underbelly.
"What is that?" asked Nazz, pulling out the pokedex and pointing it at the Pokemon.
"Whiscash, the Whiskers Pokemon. It makes its nest at the bottom of swamps. It will eat anything-if it is alive, Whiscash will eat it." said the pokedex.
"Sounds like this Pokemon has a big appetite." said Nazz. Kevin turned towards Venusaur.
"You up for a battle, pal?" asked Kevin. Venusaur nods in response. "All right, let's try out your new Solar Beam!" Venusaur began to absorb sunlight into the flower on his back. The Whiscash fires a big ball of mud out of its mouth, and it hits Venusaur. He then fires a yellow beam of light out of his flower, and it hits Whiscash, dealing super effective damage to it, and it falls into the pond and floats in it. Kevin then throws the Net Ball he found at Whiscash and hits it, sucking it in; it wiggled around a few times before it clicks. "Sweet. I caught a Whiscash!"
"Way to go, Kevin!" cheered Jonny. Whiscash's Net Ball vanishes and is transported to storage. Nazz uses the pokedex to look up Whiscash's information.
"Okay, this says Whiscash is a boy, he knows Zen Headbutt, Tickle, Mud-Slap, Mud Sport, Water Sport, Water Gun, Mud Bomb, Amnesia, Water Pulse, Magnitude, Rest, Snore, Aqua Tail, and Earthquake; he has the Anticipation ability which warns him of moves that can knock him out in one hit or are super effective against it." said Nazz.
The group's Pokemon were currently drinking out of a pond.
"If all the training is too much for you, let us know." said Nazz.
"Yeah; even I know when to take it easy once in a while." said Kevin.
"We just want to make sure you guys are ready for our gym battles." said Jonny. The Pokemon smile and nod in understanding. Minutes later, the group returned their Pokemon to their pokeballs; they then continued to walk down Route 19. After walking for a few minutes, it began to get cold, prompting the group to wrap their arms around themselves.
"S-Something tells me we're getting close." said Nazz.
"Rolf is f-f-freezing." said Rolf.
"Let's put our winter gear on." said Kevin. A minute later, the group were dressed in their winter attire.
"That's better." said Jonny. The group then continued to walk down Route 19; several minutes later, they arrived at Snowbelle City.
"I see how this place got its name." said Nazz, looking around the city.
"Come on; let's get to a Pokemon Center." said Kevin.
"You think we can have hot chocolate while we're there?" asked Nazz.
"Yeah; remember how the Eds told us how they enjoyed some hot chocolate when they arrived at Snowpoint City back in Sinnoh?" asked Jonny.
"Sure; that sounds good right about now." said Kevin. After finding a Pokemon Center, the group entered and basked in the warmth. After giving the nurse their Pokemon, they were soon sitting in front of a fireplace where a fire was, while holding mugs of hot chocolate.
"I think I know how the Eds felt when they arrived at the Snowpoint City Pokemon Center." said Nazz.
"This feels so good." said Jonny before taking a sip of hot chocolate.
"Would it feel better if you and Korrina shared a blanket fresh from the dryer together?" asked Kevin with a smirk, making Jonny's face turn red and a lovesick smile appearing on his face, making everyone else laugh. After they finished their hot chocolate, the group decide to call it a day and wait until the next one to challenge the Snowbelle City gym. After taking nice hot showers and climbing into their beds where they curled up in their blankets, they all soon drifted to sleep.
Meanwhile, inside what appeared to be a mine; Rolf's rival, Austin and his Nidorino were facing another trainer with a Throh that was poisoned.
"Okay, Nidorino, use Poison Jab!" said Austin. Nidorino charges at Throh while his horn was glowing purple and jabs Throh with it; it falls to the ground unconscious. "Great job, Nidorino." Throh's trainer returns it to a Great Ball; he walks to Austin and gives him pokedollars.
"You're a strong trainer." said Throh's trainer.
"Tell me something I don't know." replied Austin. Throh's trainer frowns and walks away. Austin looks down at Nidorino. "Okay, Nidorino; after more training, you should be strong enough to take on that country bumpkin, Rolf." Nidorino nods in response. "Now, let's see if we can find any trainers to challenge." As he looks around, he spots a greenish-gray rock on the ground. "A Moon Stone!" He runs to it and picks it up; he looks at it with a wide grin and turned towards Nidorino. "You ready, Nidorino?" Nidorino nods in response; Austin touches Nidorino with the Moon Stone and he begins glowing. "When I meet up with that country bumpkin, he is going down!"
The next morning, the group walked to the cafeteria and had a nice hot breakfast; after they finished eating, they put on their winter attire, picked up their Pokemon and exited the Pokemon Center. After several minutes of walking, they found themselves standing in front of the Snowbelle City Gym.
"Okay, guys, this is it." said Kevin. "This is where we'll win our final badges."
"We can do it." said Jonny.
"Rolf believes in all of us." said Rolf.
"Let's do this." said Nazz. Everyone else nods in response.
The group have finally arrived at the Snowbelle City Gym. Can they defeat the gym leader and win their final badges? Wait and find out.
