Snowbelle City Gym Battles (Part Two)
After they returned from having their Pokemon treated at the Snowbelle City Pokemon Center, Rolf joins Jonny and Kevin while Wulfric walked to the opposite end of the arena Nazz was standing on.
"I hope I did not keep you waiting, young lady." said Wulfric.
"No problem, dude." replied Nazz. The gym official walks to the center of the arena.
"This is an official gym battle between Wulfric the gym leader and Nazz the challenger." said the official. "Each side will use three Pokemon. The battle will end when one trainer's Pokemon are unable to battle. The trainer who still has Pokemon remaining will be the winner. Let the battle begin." Nazz and Wulfric each pull out a pokeball.
"Abomasnow, go!" said Wulfric, throwing Abomasnow's pokeball and releasing it.
"Pyroar, go!" said Nazz, throwing Pyroar's pokeball and releasing her. Hail suddenly started to pour down due to Abomasnow's Snow Warning ability.
"Abomasnow, use Ice Shard!" said Wulfric. Abomasnow launches shard of ice from its hands and they hit Pyroar, but not dealing much damage due to fire type Pokemon being resistant to ice type moves.
"Okay, Pyroar, use Work Up!" Pyroar becomes surrounded by a light red aura and her strength increases; hail falls onto Pyroar, damaging her.
"Abomasnow, Ice Punch!" said Wulfric. Abomasnow's right hand glows light blue and it punches Pyroar with it, but not doing much damage to her; hail fell onto Pyroar, damaging her.
"Pyroar, use Incinerate!" said Nazz. Pyroar fires a beam of fire out of her mouth and it hits Abomasnow, dealing super effective damage to it. Hail falls onto Pyroar, damaging her.
"Abomasnow, Energy Ball!" said Wulfric. Abomasnow forms a ball of green energy between its hands and it launches it at Pyroar, hitting it, but not doing much damage to her, but it did weaken her defense.
"Okay, Pyroar, use Flamethrower!" said Nazz. Pyroar fires a stream of fire from her mouth that hits Abomasnow, dealing enough damage to knock it out.
"Abomasnow is unable to battle; Pyroar wins the match." said the official.
"Way to go, Pyroar!" said Nazz.
"That was awesome." said Kevin.
"Rolf is amazed as well." said Rolf. Wulfric returns Abomasnow to its pokeball.
"You did well, Abomasnow." said Wulfric. He puts Abomasnow's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Cryogonal, go!" He throws Cryoganal's pokeball and releases it. "Cryogonal, use Slash!" Cryogonal spins towards Pyroar and slashes her with the edges of its body, dealing damage.
"Pyroar, Incinerate!" said Nazz. Pyroar fires a beam of fire from her mouth.
"Cryogonal, Light Screen!" said Wulfric. A wall of hexagonal shapes appeared in front of Cryogonal; the beam of fire hits the wall, making a hexagon disappear, but still dealing super effective damage to Cryogonal. Hail from Abomasnow's Snow Warning hits Pyroar. "Now use Ice Beam!" Cryogonal fires light blue beams of energy at Pyroar, hitting her, but not dealing much damage; Pyroar was frozen in ice.
"Pyroar, try to break free!" said Nazz. More hail hits Pyroar, dealing damage.
"Cryogonal, Slash!" said Wulfric. Cryogonal spins towards Pyroar and slashes her, damaging her.
"Pyroar, break free!" said Nazz. Pyroar suddenly breaks out of the ice. "Awesome, now use Flamethrower!" Pyroar unleashes a stream of fire from her mouth and it hits Cryogonal, dealing super effective damage. Hail falls onto Pyroar, damaging her.
"Use Slash!" said Wulfric. Cryogonal spins towards Pyroar and slashes her, knocking her out.
"Pyroar is unable to battle; Cryogonal wins the match." said the official.
"Well done, Cryogonal." said Wulfric. Nazz returns Pyroar to her pokeball.
"You were awesome, Pyroar." said Nazz. She puts Pyroar's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Corsola, go!" She throws Corsola's pokeball and releases her. "Okay, Corsola, use Ancient Power!" Silver energy surrounds Corsola and forms into a ball; Corsola launches it at Cryogonal, hitting it, and dealing super effective damage to it; energy begin surging through Corsola. "Looks like Corsola just got a lot stronger."
"Cryogonal, Flash Cannon!" said Wulfric. Cryogonal fires a silver beam of energy at Corsola and hits her, dealing damage to her. Hail fall onto Corsola, damaging her.
"Power Gem!" said Nazz. Corsola fires a red beam of energy from her horn and it hits Cryogonal, dealing super effective damage and knocking it out.
"Cryogonal is unable to battle; Corsola wins the match." said the official.
"You did it, Corsola." said Nazz. Corsola jumps up and down in response.
"Nazz is doing great." said Jonny.
"All she has to do is beat Avalugg and she'll win." said Kevin. Wulfric returns Cryogonal to its pokeball.
"You deserve a rest, Cryogonal." said Wulfric. He puts Cryogonal's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "You're doing quite well, Nazz; but you still have to beat my final Pokemon to win my Iceberg Badge. Avalugg, go!" He throws Avalugg's pokeball and releases it. The hail cloud from Abomasnow's Snow Warning ability vanished. "Avalugg, use Crunch!" Avalugg runs at Corsola and bites her, dealing damage, and weakening her defense.
"Corsola, use Power Gem!" said Nazz. Corsola fires a red beam of energy from her horn and it hits Avalugg, dealing super effective damage.
"Avalugg, Gyro Ball!" said Wulfric. Avalugg spins towards Corsola while surrounded by a light blue aura and it rams into her, knocking her back.
"Corsola, use Power Gem!" said Nazz. Corsola fires another red beam of energy at Avalugg, hitting it, and dealing super effective damage.
"Gyro Ball, once more!" said Wulfric. Avalugg spins towards Corsola and rams her, knocking her to the ground, unconscious.
"Corsola is unable to battle; Avalugg wins the match." said the official.
"Great job, Avalugg." said Wulfric.
"Don't give up, Nazz." said Kevin.
"You can do it." said Jonny. Nazz returns Corsola to her pokeball.
"You were great, Corsola." said Nazz. She puts Corsola's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Let's go, Gardevoir!" She throws Gardevoir's pokeball and releases her; Nazz then touches the Key Stone on her Mega Ring, releasing streams of energy from it while Gardevoir's Gardevoirite releases streams of energy also; the streams of energy merge together, Mega Evolving Gardevoir into Mega Gardevoir. "Okay, Mega Gardevoir, use Psychic!" Mega Gardevoir's eyes glowed blue and releases a blue shockwave at Avalugg, hitting it, and dealing damage to it.
"Avalugg, use Avalanche!" said Wulfric. Dark clouds appeared above Mega Gardevoir; large chunks of ice fall from them onto Mega Gardevoir, damaging her.
"Mega Gardevoir, use Moonblast!" said Nazz. Mega Gardevoir forms a pink orb of energy in front of her hands and she launches it at Avalugg, hitting it.
"Avalugg, use Blizzard!" said Wulfric. Avalugg releases a blizzard from its mouth and it hits Mega Gardevoir, damaging her.
"Mega Gardevoir, use Psychic!" said Nazz. Mega Gardevoir releases a blue shockwave from her eyes and it hits Avalugg.
"Avalugg, Blizzard!" said Wulfric. Avalugg releases another blizzard towards Mega Gardevoir.
"Teleport!" said Nazz. Mega Gardevoir vanishes, dodging the blizzard; she then reappears. "Now use Tackle!" Mega Gardevoir jumps towards Avalugg while surrounded by a pink aura from her Pixilate ability, turning her normal type Tackle into a fairy type move and making it stronger; Mega Gardevoir rams into Avalugg, knocking it out.
"Avalugg is unable to battle; Mega Gardevoir wins. The winner of this gym battle is the challenger, Nazz." said the official.
"We did it!" said Nazz. Mega Gardevoir lets out a sigh of relief before turning back into her regular self.
"Nazz did it!" said Jonny.
"Rolf is proud of Nazz." said Rolf.
"That was awesome!" said Kevin. Wulfric returns Avalugg to its pokeball.
"You did well, my friend." said Wulfric. He puts Avalugg's pokeball away and walks over to Nazz. "You did well against my Pokemon, Nazz."
"Thanks, dude." replied Nazz. Wulfric pulls an Iceberg Badge out of his pocket.
"For your victory here, I reward you with the Iceberg Badge." said Wulfric.
"Awesome." said Nazz, taking the Iceberg Badge, along with pokedollars. "That's badge number eight."
"So, you will be competing in the Kalos League then?" asked Wulfric.
"You bet, dude." replied Nazz. Wulfric nods in response, then looks up at Kevin.
"So, I will be battling you next?" asked Wulfric.
"You bet, man." replied Kevin.
"As soon as I return, we will have our battle." said Wulfric.
"I'll be waiting, man." said Kevin as he goes over what he learned from his friends' battles.
Twenty minutes later, Wulfric and Nazz return from the Pokemon Center; with Wulfric going over to where he stood for his previous battles while Nazz joins her friends in the bleachers.
"Are you ready, young man?" Wulfric asked Kevin.
"Ready to earn my final badge, dude." Kevin replied. The official steps to the center of the arena.
"This is an official gym battle between Wulfric the gym leader and Kevin the challenger." said the official. "Each side will use three Pokemon. The battle will end when one trainer's Pokemon are unable to battle. The trainer who still has Pokemon remaining will be the winner. Let the battle begin." Kevin and Wulfric each pull out a pokeball. Wulfric throws his, releasing his Abomasnow; Kevin throws his, releasing his Talonflame. Abomasnow's Snow Warning activates, causing it to hail.
"Talonflame, use Flame Charge!" said Kevin. Talonflame's body becomes coated in fire as he flies at Abomasnow and collides with its torso, doing super effective damage; a surge of energy rises up from him.
"Right on!" said Jonny. "Flame Charge gave Talonflame a speed boost!"
"Abomasnow, use Blizzard!" said Wulfric. Abomasnow opens its mouth and releases a powerful blast of wind and snow that hits Talonflame; hail hits Talonflame's body, doing damage to him.
"Talonflame, use Fly!" said Kevin. Talonflame flies towards the ceiling.
"Abomasnow, use Ingrain!" said Wulfric. Roots come out from Abomasnow's feet and burrow into the floor, drawing in energy that heals it a little. Talonflame gets hit with more hail as he plummets towards Abomasnow and crashes onto it, doing enough super effective damage, and knocking it out.
"Abomasnow is unable to battle. Talonflame is the winner." said the official.
"Way to go, Kevin!" said Nazz.
"Rolf is glad that Kevin is doing well." said Rolf.
"Just two more to go!" said Jonny. Wulfric returns his Abomasnow to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Abomasnow." said Wulfric. He puts Abomasnow's pokeball away and pulls out another one; he throws it, releasing his Cryogonal.
"Talonflame, hit it with another Flame Charge!" said Kevin. Talonflame hits the Cryoganal with another fiery tackle.
"Cryoganal, use Slash!" said Wulfric. Cryogonal spins at Talonflame and slashes him with its body. More hail hits Talonflame, doing a bit more damage to him.
"Talonflame, use Flail!" said Kevin. Talonflame starts swinging his wings all over, hitting Cryogonal as he does.
"Cryogonal, use Ice Beam!" said Wulfric. Cryogonal fires a beam of blue energy out the center of its body, hitting Talonflame, and freezing him.
"Dude, he's frozen!" said Nazz.
"Do something, Kevin!" said Rolf.
"Talonflame, try using Flame Charge!" said Kevin, but Talonflame was still encased in ice.
"Cryogonal, use one more Slash!" said Wulfric. Cryogonal spins at Talonflame, hitting him hard enough to break his icy prison and knock him out.
"Talonflame is unable to battle. Cryogonal is the winner." said the official.
"Excellent work, Cryoganal." said Wulfric. Cryogonal flies around with joy. Kevin returns his Talonflame to his pokeball.
"You were great, dude." said Kevin. He puts Talonflame's pokeball away and pulls out another one; he throws it, releasing his Golurk.
"I hope Kevin wins." said Nazz.
"He will!" said Jonny.
"Rolf believes in Kevin." said Rolf.
"Golurk, use Heavy Slam!" said Kevin. Golurk launches itself into the air above Cryogonal and crashes down onto it, doing enough super effective damage to knock it out.
"Cryogonal is unable to battle. Golurk is the winner." said the official.
"Nice one, Kevin!" said Nazz.
"Just one more to go!" said Jonny. Wulfric returns his Cryogonal to its pokeball.
"You rest up now." said Wulfric. He puts Cryogonal's pokeball away and pulls out his last one; he throws it, releasing his Avalugg. "Use Crunch!" Avalugg slides at Golurk and bites down hard on it, doing super effective damage, and lowering its defense. More hail hits Golurk, doing more damage. Suddenly, the hail dies down.
"Looks like Abomasnow's hailstorm is over." said Jonny.
"About time, too." said Nazz.
"Golurk, use Dynamic Punch!" said Kevin. Golurk draws a fist back and thrusts it at Avalugg, punching it with enough force, combined with Golurk's Iron Fist ability, to send it sliding back a bit.
"Avalugg, use Ice Fang!" said Wulfric. Avalugg slides at Golurk with frost-covered jaws and bites down on it, doing super effective damage, and knocking it out.
"Golurk is unable to battle. Avalugg is the winner." said the official.
"Great job, Avalugg!" said Wulfric. Avalugg roars in response.
"Poor Golurk." said Nazz.
"Kevin can still win this!" said Jonny.
"Rolf agrees." said Rolf. Kevin returns his Golurk to its pokeball.
"You were great, Golurk." said Kevin. He puts Golurk's pokeball away and pulls out his last one; he throws it, releasing his Greninja. "Okay, dude; use Double Team!" Multiple Greninja appeared out of nowhere.
"Whoa, cool!" said Jonny.
"Avalugg, use Blizzard!" said Wulfric. Avalugg releases a blast of wind and ice that hits several of the Greninjas; but none of them were the real one.
"Greninja, use Surf!" said Kevin. Greninja rides a wave towards Avalugg and slams into it, doing some damage.
"Avalugg, use Take Down on the one that was riding the wave!" said Wulfric. Avalugg charges at the Greninja that Wulfric pointed out and rams him, sending him flying back, and making the other Greninjas disappear. Avalugg takes recoil damage from its attack.
"Greninja, use Water Pulse!" said Kevin. Greninja hits Avalugg with a ball of pulsing water, hitting Avalugg.
"Avalugg, use Double-Edge!" said Wulfric. Avalugg charges at Greninja and hits him with an even harder tackle, damaging him and itself from the recoil damage. Suddenly, a blue surge of energy rises up from Greninja.
"That's Greninja's Torrent ability!" said Jonny.
"Let Avalugg have it, dude!" said Nazz.
"Greninja, use Water Shuriken!" said Kevin. Greninja starts throwing a barrage of shuriken-shaped masses of water at Avalugg, hitting it over and over until it finally passes out.
"Avalugg is unable to battle. Greninja is the winner. The winner of the match is the challenger, Kevin." said the official.
"Kev won!" said Nazz.
"He just won his eighth badge!" said Jonny.
"Rolf is pleased!" said Rolf. Wulfric returned his Avalugg to its pokeball.
"Thanks for toughing it out as long as you could, Avalugg." said Wulfric. He puts the pokeball away and walks over to Kevin. "Congratulations on winning this match."
"Thanks, dude." said Kevin. Wulfric pulls a Iceberg Badge from his pocket.
"As proof of your victory, I present you with this Iceberg Badge." said Wulfric as he hands it, along with some pokedollars, to Kevin.
"Yes! I won my Iceberg Badge!" said Kevin. "This means I can enter the Kalos League now!" His friends run out onto the field and tackle-hug Kevin to the floor.
"Way to go, dude!" said Nazz.
"We're all going to the Kalos League!" said Jonny.
"A celebration I say!" said Rolf.
Later at the Pokemon Center, while Kevin's Pokemon were being treated, the group were raising mugs of hot cocoa.
"Here's to us!" said Kevin as he and the others clink their mugs together.
"How long is it until the Kalos League competition?" asked Nazz.
"It's in about a month." said Kevin.
"We should all train hard for it." said Jonny.
"Rolf agrees!" said Rolf.
"And I also want to earn a higher rank at the Battle Chateau." said Nazz.
"Looks like we all have plans for a while." said Kevin.
The group have won their eighth badges. What awaits them as they prepare for the Kalos League?
