Fossil Restoration
The group continue continue to travel up Route 6 towards Stow-on-Side, all while doing a bit of training with their Pokemon.
Lincoln's Cinderace learned Counter and Bounce, his Gyarados learned Dragon Dance and Hydro Pump, his Zoroark got stronger, his Boltund learned Charge, his Lycanroc learned Rock Slide and Crunch, and his Alolan Sandshrew learned Slash, Iron Head, and Gyro Ball.
Clyde's Gallade learned Swords Dance, his Venusaur learned Synthesis, his Eevee learned Take Down, and his Liepard learned Night Slash. During the training, Clyde's Torracat began glowing.
"Hey; Torracat's evolving." said Clyde. Everyone watched as Torracat began to change; when the glowing stopped, Torracat now had a humanoid form, had a gray upper body, and had a fiery-looking belt around his waist. Clyde points his Rotom Phone at his newly evolved Torracat.
"Incineroar, the Heel Pokemon, and the final evolved form of Litten. Incineroar's rough and aggressive behavior is its most notable trait, but the way it helps out small Pokémon shows that it has a kind side as well." said Clyde's Rotom Phone.
"Congratulatons, Clyde." said Lincoln.
"According to my Rotom Phone, Incineroar is part dark type, and he learned Darkest Lariat when he evolved." said Clyde.
"That could come in handy in your next gym battle." said Lincoln.
Leni's Gardevoir learned Calm Mind, her Tsarenna learned Teeter Dance, her Vulpix learned Imprison, her Lopunny learned Agility, her Seaking learned Waterfall, and her Glaceon learned Ice Fang and Hail.
Lucy's Dusclops got stronger, her Gengar learned Sucker Punch, her Noibat learned Air Slash, her Trevanant learned Phantom Force, and her Frillish learned Whirlpool. As she trained her Pokemon, her Dartrix began to glow.
"Now Dartrix is evolving." said Lucy. Dartrix began to grow taller; when the glowing stopped, Dartrix now had a more humanoid form, he had a green leafy hood around his head, his wings resembled arms with hands on the end of them and longer legs, there were orange leaves resembling an X with two green vines hanging down from it over his chest, and three long green leaves for tail feather. Lucy points her Rotom Phone at her newly evolved Dartrix.
"Deciueye, the Arrow Quill Pokemon, and final evolved form of Rowlet. In a tenth of a second, it can nock and fire an arrow quill, piercing an opponent's weak point before they notice what's happening." said Lucy's Rotom Phone.
"According to his, he's now part grass, part ghost, and he learned Spirit Shackle when he evolved; wicked." said Lucy.
"That should help in your gym battle also." said Ronnie Anne.
Lana's Salazzle, Stoutland, and Seismitoad all got stronger, her Sandaconda learned Slam, her Garbador learned Pain Split, and her Jolteon learned Thunder Fang, Pin Missile, and Discharge.
Luna's Gigalith, and Loudred got stronger, her Toxtricity learned Poison Jab, her Poliwhirl learned Earth Power, her Sharpedo Agility, and her Linoone learned Counter.
During Loudred's training, he froze up and started to glow.
"Dudes! Loudred's evolving!" said Luna. Everyone watches as Loudred started to change before their eyes; when he was done, he was bigger, his face looked angrier, and coming out of his head were multiple, yellow-tipped, tubes. Luna takes out her Rotom Phone and points it at her newly evovled Pokemon.
"Exploud, the Loud Noise Pokemon, and the final evolved form of Whismur. This Pokémon can do more than just shout. To communicate with others of its kind, it'll emit all sorts of sounds from the holes in its body." said Luna's Rotom Phone.
"He looks tough!" said Ronnie Anne.
"Doesn't matter." said Luna. "He's still my buddy." She hugs her new Exploud, making him smile in response.
Lola's Cincinno and Alolan Ninetales got stronger, her Primarina learned Misty Terrain and Hyper Voice, her Sylveon learned Skill Swap, her Azumarill learned Hydro Pump, and her Sinistea learned Nasty Plot.
Ronnie Anne spent a lot of time training her new Hawlucha; she soon learned Taunt and Roost. Her Blastoise learned Iron Defense, her Luxray learned Scary Face, her Lycanroc learned Rock Slide, her Larvesta learned Leech Life, and her Sneasel learned Hone Claws.
Sam's Meowstic learned Psyshock, her Toxtricity learned Poison Jab, her Gastrodon learned Earth Power, her Gourgeist learned Shadow Ball and Trick, her Stunfisk learned Muddy Water, and her Vulpix learned Imprison.
"I hope we get to Stow-on-Side soon." said Lincoln.
"It's so warm out here." said Lola. Lincoln hands her a bottle of water and she starts drinking from it. Just then, they hear the sound of maracas from nearby.
"What's that?" asked Clyde. They all look around and soon see a cactus like Pokemon with two smaller cactuses coming out of its head that have a pink flower at the end of each one, along with two longer cactus protrusions coming out of its sides acting like arms; the noise the group was hearing was coming from them shaking.
"Is that a Pokemon?" asked Ronnie Anne. She takes out her Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Maractus, the Cactus Pokemon. Once each year, this Pokémon scatters its seeds. They're jam-packed with nutrients, making them a precious food source out in the desert." said Ronnie Anne's Rotom Phone. They all continue to look as the Maractus kept shaking its arms, making a nice rhythm.
"I like what it's laying down." said Luna.
"Maybe you should catch it, Lunes?" suggested Sam.
"You don't have a grass type on your team." said Lincoln.
"Okay." said Luna. She takes out her Toxtricity's pokeball and lets him out of it. The Maractus stops shaking its arms and gets ready for a fight.
"Get it, Luna!" said Lola.
"Toxtricity, use Poison Jab!" said Luna. Toxtricity's hand glowed purple as he moves towards the Maractus; but before his hit struck, Maractus punches him in the gut with a fist coated with dark energy.
"That must've been Sucker Punch!" said Lincoln. Toxtricity then strikes Maractus with his attack.
"Now use Acid!" said Luna. Toxtricity coughs up an orange liquid that hits the Maractus, doing super effective damage. Luna takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at the Maractus, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking.
"You did it, Luna!" said Sam.
"Rockin'!" said Luna. As her Maractus's pokeball disappears to storage, she looks up its information on her Rotom Phone. "This says my Maractus is a dudette, she knows Spiky Shield, Peck, Absorb, After You, Ingrain, Growth, Mega Drain, Leech Seed, Sucker Punch, Pin Missile, Giga Drain, Sweet Scent, and Synthesis; she also has the Water Absorb ability which makes any water attack that hits her restore her health instead of causing damage."
"Let's keep going." said Lucy from behind Luna, scaring her. The group then reaches some ladders leading further up the trail. They pick one and start climbing; after a while, they reach a clearing where a woman wearing a lab coat was standing near some sort of machine.
"Greetings, children." the woman.
"Ummm.. hi." Lincoln replied.
"I suppose you children are wondering what I'm doing up here." said the woman. Lincoln then remembers something that the Digging Duo told them yesterday.
"Are you that scientist who's working on reviving fossils?" asked Lincoln.
"Why, yes I am." said the woman.
"A couple of people on Bridge Field told us about you." said Lana.
"I see." said the woman.
"We have a few fossils that we would like to use." said Lana.
"Excellent." the woman replied. "May I see them?" The group then hands the woman the three fossils they had on them. "With these fossils, I can make either an Arctozolt or an Arctovish."
"What should we make?" Lincoln asked the rest of the group. Ronnie Anne takes out a coin.
"Heads, an Arctozolt' tails, an Arctovish." said Ronnie Anne. She tosses the coin and catches it, then slaps it on the palm of her other hand; when she lifts it up, it was showing tails.
"Looks like we're getting an Arctovish." said Clyde.
"We should let Lisa know about this." said Luna. She takes out her Rotom Phone and calls Lisa's device, a few seconds later, Lisa answers.
"Greetings, elder sibling." said Lisa.
"Hey, sis." said Luna. "We found that scientist that can revive fossils."
"Excellent." said Lisa. "I wish to observe the process." Luna holds her Rotom Phone towards the scientist and the machine near her as Lincoln hands over the Fossilized Fish and Fossilized Bird.
"Now I simply place them into my machine and activate it." said the woman before putting the fossils into her device, closes the lid on top, and pushes a button; the machine shakes for a little bit before opening up, releasing a red mass of light that forms into a white and blue Pokemon that looked like a fish and a Plesiosaur combined; it had a blue tail with a fin on top of it, blue and white flippers, the fish half was upside down, and a round blue head with white fins connected to it. Lana points her Rotom Phone at the Pokemon.
"Arctovish, the Fossil Pokemon. The skin on its face is impervious to attack, but breathing difficulties made this Pokémon go extinct anyway." said Lana's Rotom Phone.
"Fascinating!" said Lisa. "How does your device work?" As the woman and Lisa talk about the revival machine, the group work out who gets the Pokemon.
"So, who gets Arctovish?" asked Ronnie Anne.
"Who could use more Pokemon?" asked Lana.
"I don't have an ice type on my team yet." said Sam.
"I don't see why Sam can't have it." said Lincoln.
"Go for it, Sam." said Luna. Sam takes the pokeball and uses her Rotom Phone to look up Arctovish's information.
"My new Arctovish has no gender, it knows Powder Snow, Water Gun, and Protect; she also has the Ice Body ability which heals it when it's hailing out." said Sam. The group waits about half an hour for Lisa is done talking to the scientist before they all continue on their way. As they walk up Route 6, they see a large rock carving of a Diglett and look at it.
"Who would they pick that Pokemon to carve?" asked Lola. "If they wanted to carve something, then it should've been a Sylveon."
"Probably because it was the easiest one to carve because it has no visible arms or legs?" suggested Ronnie Anne.
"That could be it." said Luna.
"Hey, look over there." said Leni as she points ahead; everyone looks to see a small city in the distance.
"That must be Stow-on-Side." said Clyde.
"We're finally here." said Luna.
"Let's get going then." said Lincoln. The group walks towards Stow-on-Side; the sight of their next gym battle. Will they all earn their fourth badges?
