Stow-on-Side Gym Battles (Part Two)
Leni enters the test area where a staff member explains how the Gym Test worked; after that, she gets into the first cup and rides it down to the bottom of the first platform.
She stumbles out all dizzily; after she shakes her head to bring herself back to her senses, she gets in the next cup and rides it down with a little more difficulty due to the green hands. but she manages to get to the bottom of the second platform.
She then gets into the final one and rides it to the bottom of the third platform with comparably more effort. Once she gets out of that cup, plumes of smoke come out of the exit gate, indicating that she passed the Gym Test.
Back at the Loud house, everyone watching Leni was cheering for her success.
"She's doing great!" said Lori.
"I hope she can beat Allister." said Lynn Sr.
"Lucy and Sam managed to do it, so Leni has a chance." said Lynn Jr.
Back at Stow-on-Side Stadium, Leni and Allister were coming out of tunnels at opposite ends of the field and walk to the center of it.
"Y-You did well to pass the Gym Test." said Allister.
"Thanks." said Leni. An official steps to the center of the field.
"This gym battle is between the gym leader, Allister; and the Gym Challenger, Leni Loud. Both trainers will use four Pokemon. The first trainer to defeat all their opponent's Pokemon will be the winner. Let the battle begin." said the official. Leni and Allister walk to opposite ends of the arena and they each take out a pokeball. Allister throws his, releasing his Mimikyu; and Leni throws hers, releasing her Vulpix. Bright sunlight suddenly shines into the stadium.
"Vulpix's Drought ability must've activated." said Clyde.
"I can't stand the sun." said Lucy as she shields her eyes.
"I don't think Allister's fond of it, either." said Lola, noticing that Allister was using his hand to shield his mask's eyeholes; Lucy smiles at this.
'We have much in common.' Lucy thought to herself.
"Mimikyu, use Shadow Sneak!" said Allister. Mimikyu's shadow extends behind Vulpix, then rises up and strikes her.
"Vulpix, use Ember!" said Leni. Vulpix opens her mouth and releases bits of fire from her mouth that hit Mimikyu, damaging its outfit.
"That Disguise ability really comes in handy." said Lincoln.
"Those of us who haven't battled Allister yet should try working on a way to get around it." said Clyde.
"Vulpix, use Flamethrower!" said Leni. Vulpix opens her mouth and releases a powerful stream of fire, that was powered up by Drought, and hits Mimikyu.
"Mimikyu, use Shadow Ball!" said Allister. Mimikyu forms a ball of dark energy over its tail and launches it at Vulpix, doing damage to her, and also lowers her special defense.
"Vulpix, use Extrasensory!" said Leni. Vulpix's eyes glow blue, making a similar-colored aura appear around Mimikyu; it suddenly starts floating off the ground and gets squeezed, then gets dropped to the ground, unconscious.
"Mimikyu is unable to battle. Vulpix is the winner." said the official.
"And Leni's Vulpix takes down Mimikyu. Can she keep up this momentum and win this match?" asked the announcer.
"Yaay!" cheered Leni.
"So far, Leni's doing good." said Ronnie Anne.
"But she still has three more of Allister's Pokemon to deal with." said Lana.
Back at the Loud house, everyone was cheering for Leni.
"One down, three to go!" said Lynn Jr.
"I hope Leni isn't scared of those ghost Pokemon." said Rita.
"At least they aren't...spiders!" said Lynn Sr before shuddering.
Back at Stow-on-Side Stadium, Allister returns his Mimikyu to its pokeball.
"You did your best." said Allister. He then puts Mimikyu's pokeball away and pulls out another one; he throws it, releasing his Yamask. "Yamask, use Disable!" Yamask's eyes glowed red, making a similar-colored aura appear around Vulpix.
"Vulpix, use Flamethrower!" said Leni. Vulpix tried to do so, but she isn't able to.
"Disable must've blocked Flamethrower!" said Lana.
"Vulpix still has plenty of other attacks!" said Leni.
"Yamask, use Hex!" said Allister. Yamask forms a large ball of dark energy with a red eye in it and launches it at Vulpix, hitting her.
"Vulpix, use Ember!" said Leni. Vulpix releases bits of fire from her mouth at Yamask.
"Yamask, use Protect!" said Allister. A green barrier appears around Yamask that blocks Vulpix's attack. "Now use Rock Slide!" Yamask's tablet glows, making a bunch of rocks appear above Vulpix and fall onto her, doing super effective damage, and knocking her out.
"Vulpix is unable to battle. Yamask is the winner." said the official.
"And Yamask has taken out Vulpix. Can it help Allister win this match?" asked the announcer.
"Don't worry, Leni can still win this!" said Luna.
"Yeah!" said Sam.
"We have to believe in her." said Lincoln.
Back at the Loud house, everyone was supporting Leni.
"Poor Vulpix." said Luan.
"At least Leni has three more Pokemon." said Rita.
"She can still turn this around." said Lori.
Back at Stow-on-Side Stadium, Leni was returing her Vulpix to her pokeball.
"You were, totes, great, Vulpix." said Leni with a smile. She puts Vulpix's pokeball away and pulls out another one; she throws it, releasing her Seaking.
"And Leni's next Pokemon is a Seaking. Can it fight through the current of Yamask's power and wash it away?" asked the announcer.
"Yamask, use Shadow Ball!" said Allister. Yamask's tablet glows and a ball of dark energy shoots out of it, hitting Seaking.
"Seaking, use Waterfall!" said Leni. Seaking summons up a large amount of water from above Yamask that falls down onto it, doing super effective damage; but Yamask was still able to battle.
"How did Yamask withstand that?" asked Lana. "It's part ground, so Seaking's attack should've done a lot more damage."
"Because Drought not only powers up fire attacks, it weakens water type ones." said Lincoln.
"That stinks, and not in a good way." said Lana.
"Yamask, use another Hex!" said Allister. Yamask launches another dark energy ball with a red eye at Seaking, hitting her, and knocking her out.
"Seaking is unable to battle. Yamask is the winner." said the official.
"And Yamask beats another of Leni's Pokemon! Can it keep doing that and earn Allilster the victory?" asked the announcer.
"Yamask is strong!" said Ronnie Anne.
"It probably would've been knocked out by Waterfall if it wasn't for Drought." said Lola.
Back at the Loud house, everyone was watching the screen with shock.
"That's two of Leni's Pokemon defeated." said Lynn Sr.
"Allister's pretty good." said Rita.
"But Leni can still win!" said Lynn Jr.
"Hopefully." said Lori.
Back at Stow-on-Side Stadium, Leni returned Seaking to her pokeball.
"Sorry, Seaking." said Leni. "I will, totes, take you to a Pokemon Center after this match." She puts Seaking's pokeball away and pulls out her third one; she throws it, releasing her Tsareena.
"And Leni's next Pokemon is Tsareena. Can it help Leni turn this around?" asked the announcer.
"Tsareena, use Trop Kick!" said Leni. Tsareena runs at Yamask and does a drop kick that hits it, doing super effective damage, and sends it flying to a stop at Allister's feet, unconscious.
"Yamask is unable to battle. Tsareena is the winner." said the official.
"Yes!" said Leni as she does a fist pump.
"And Tsareena takes out Yamask! Can it help Leni score victory in this Gym battle?" asked the announcer.
"Woot-woot!" cheered Ronnie Anne.
"Leni's halfway there!" said Sam.
"She can still win this!" said Luna.
Back at the Loud house, everyone was cheering for Leni.
"Now Leni just has to beat two more of Allister's Pokemon." said Luan.
"But I'm sure it won't be easy." said Lynn Sr.
"Have faith in her, Lynn." said Rita.
Back at Stow-on-Side Stadium, Allister returns his Yamask to its pokeball.
"Y-You were great, Yamask." said Allister. He puts Yamask's pokeball away and pulls out another one; he throws it, releasing his Cursola. The intense sunlight soon fades away.
"That's better." said Lucy and Allister in unison as they unshield their eyes/eyeholes.
"Tsareena, use Magical Leaf!" said Leni. Tsareena releases a bunch of glowing green leaves at Cursola, hitting it, and making parts of its body chip off, weaking its defenses, but increases its speed.
"Use Ancient Power!" said Allister. Cursola summons up rocks with fossils in them and launches them at Tsareena, doing damage. A large surge of energy rises up from Cursola.
"And it looks like Ancient Power has given Cursola an all-stat boost!" said the announcer.
"Cursola, use Hex!" said Allister. Cursola summons up a large ball of dark energy with a red eye in it and launches it at Tsareena, hitting her, and doing damage.
"Tsareena, use Trop Kick again!" said Leni. Tsareena runs at Cursola and delivers another drop kick, doing damage, lowers its attack power, and chips away more of its body.
"Cursola, use Disable!" said Allister. Cursola's eyes glowed red, making a similar-colored aura appear all over Tsareena.
"I know I can't use Trop Kick; so Tsareena, use Magical Leaf!" said Leni. Tsareena hits Cursola with another barrage of glowing green leaves, damaging it enough to knock it out.
"Cursola is unable to battle. Tsareena is the winner." said the official.
"And Tsareena has taken out another of Allister's Pokemon! Can it beat his last one and score Leni the victory?" asked the official.
"You're doing awesome, Leni!" said Lincoln.
"You're almost there!" said Luna.
Back at the Loud house, everyone was cheering Leni on.
"One more to go and Leni wins!" said Lynn Jr.
"This is so exciting!" said Rita.
"Indeed, mother." said Lisa.
Back at Stow-on-Side, Allister returned his Cursola to its pokeball.
"You tried your hardest, so I'm proud of you." said Allister.
"You're so nice to your Pokemon." said Leni.
"They're my friends." said Allister before his eyes glowed purple, surprising Leni.
"Allister is down to his last Pokemon. Can it help him win this match?" asked the announcer. Allister puts his Cursola's pokeball away and pulls out his last one; he throws it, releasing his Gengar; he then returns it, and uses his Dynamax Band to enlarge its pokeball; he releases it again, only this time its Gigantamaxed.
"Tsareena, use Play Nice!" said Leni. Tsareena frolics around, making Gengar laugh, lowering its attack power.
"Gengar, use Max Ooze!" said Allister. Gengar summons up a large puddle of purple slime that washes over Tsareena, doing enough super effective damage to knock her out.
"Tsareena is unable to battle. Gengar is the winner." said the official.
"And Allister's Gengar beats Leni's Tsareena! Now Leni's down to her last Pokemon. Can she manage to pull off a victory, or will Allister rise up and score a win?" asked the announcer.
"Leni has one Pokemon left." said Clyde.
"She can do this!" said Lana.
"All we can do is support her." said Luna.
Back at the Loud house, everyone was also supporting Leni.
"You can do it, Leni!" said Luan.
"Louds never quit!" said Lynn Sr.
"That's true, and she won't give up!" said Lynn Jr.
"Win this, Leni!" said Lori.
Back at Stow-on-Side, Leni returned Tsareena to her pokeball.
"You were, totes, great." said Leni. She puts Tsareena's pokeball away and pulls out her last one; she throws it, releasing her Gardevoir. Leni then returns Gardevoir to her pokeball, then uses her Dynamax Band to enlarge it, then heaves it as hard as she can, releasing her Gardevoir once more, this time she's Dynamaxed.
"Dynamaxed Pokemon vs Gigantamaxed Pokemon! Who will win?!" asked the announcer.
"Gardevoir, use Max Mindstorm!" said Leni. Gardevoir releases rings of psychic energy from above Gengar at it, hitting it, and doing super effective damage. Suddenly, a pink dome surrounds both Pokemon.
"Looks like Gardevoir's attack has created Psychic Terrain. Will it help her win this battle?" asked the announcer.
"Gengar, use G-Max Terror!" said Allister. Gengar created ghostly furniture and launches it at Gardevoir; a portal of darkness that looked like Gengar appears below her, doing super effective damage.
"Gardevoir, use Max Mindstorm one more time!" said Leni. Gardevoir uses her remaining strength to summon up more rings of psychic energy. The pink dome starts channeling energy from into them, amplifying their power; the rings fall onto Gengar, doing enough super effective damage to cause the energy in it to explode, making Gengar revert to its normal size, unconscious.
"Gengar is unable to battle. Gardevoir is the winner. The winner of the gym battle is the Gym Challenger, Leni Loud." said the official.
"Leni Loud has done it! After a close match, she comes out the winner of this battle!" said the announcer.
"She won!" cheered Lola.
"That was close!" said Clyde.
"But at least she pulled through." said Ronnie Anne.
"Sigh." said Lucy.
"Don't worry, Lucy." said Lincoln. "At least it wasn't personal."
"I know." said Lucy.
Back at the Loud house, everyone there was cheering for Leni's win.
"That's our Leni!" said Lynn Sr.
"I'm so happy for her!" said Rita.
"That was, literally, amazing!" said Lori.
Back at Stow-on-Side Stadium, Allister returns his Gengar to its pokeball.
"You did well, Gengar." said Allister. He puts Gengar's pokeball away and walks over to the center of the field as Leni does while being followed by her now back to normal size Gardevoir. "You were a strong opponent."
"Thanks." said Leni. Allister reaches into his pocket and pulls out a Ghost Badge.
"As proof of your victory here, I present you with the Ghost Badge." said Allister as he hands it, along with some pokedollars, to Leni.
"Yaay! I won the Ghost Badge!" said Leni as she holds it up in triumph.
Later in the stadium lobby, Leni's friends and family were congratulating her on her victory.
"You were awesome, Leni!" said Lana.
"That was amazing!" said Lincoln.
"Thanks, everyone." said Leni with a smile. A staff member walks over to them.
"So, who's next?" asked the official.
"Ooh ooh, me next." replied Lana, raising up an arm and waving it.
"Very well; just enter the test area and an official will tell you what you need to do." said the official. Lana walks towards the door to the test area and enters it; once inside, an staff member tells her what she needs to do. Lana then climbs onto a cup of the first platform and rides it to the bottom of the platform; she climbs out of the cup and climbs into one on the next platform.
It was a little difficult at first, but she was able to ride it to the end of it; she then walks to the cup of the final platform and climbs into it; it was a little more challenging then the previous platform, but in the end, she makes it to the bottom. She gets out of the cup and climbs the stairs that led to a door; once she makes it to the top, smoke shoots up, indicating she passed the Gym Test.
"She did it!" cheered Lincoln.
"Now all she has to do is beat Allister." said Clyde.
"Think she can do it?" asked Ronnie Anne.
"Yeah; Allister's one tough trainer." said Sam.
"I'm sure she'll be fine." said Luna. Back at Royal Woods, the rest of the family and the McBrides were watching.
"Lana's match should be starting soon." said Lynn Sr.
"Think she can beat Allister?" asked Rita.
"I'm sure if we believe in her, she can pull through." said Lori.
"I hope so." said Luan. Moments later at the Stow-on-Side stadium, Lana and Allister were standing on opposite ends of the arena, facing each other.
"This gym battle is between the gym leader, Allister; and the Gym Challenger, Lana Loud. Both trainers will use four Pokemon. The first trainer to defeat all their opponent's Pokemon will be the winner. Let the battle begin." said the official. Lana and Allister walk to opposite ends of the arena and they each take out a pokeball.
"Yamask, go." said Allister, throwing Yamask's pokeball and releasing it.
"Allister starts things off with Yamask; how will Lana respond?" asked the announcer.
"Go, Stoutland!" said Lana, throwing Stoutland's pokeball and releasing him.
"And Lana brings out a Stoutland." said the announcer. Stoutland's glares at Yamask and weakens its attack strength.
"Okay, boy, use Crunch!" said Lana. Stoutland jumps towards Yamask and bites it, dealing super effective damage to it and weakening its defense. Yamask's Wandering Spirit ability activates, making Stoutland's Intimidate ability become Wandering Spirit.
"Yamask, use Slam." said Allister. Yamask grabs Stoutland and slams him onto the floor.
"Okay, Stoutland, use Crunch again!" said Lana. Stoutland jumps towards Yamask with his mouth open.
"Use Protect." said Allister. A green forcefield appeared around Yamask and blocks Stoutland's attack. "Now use Brutal Swing." Yamask's arm glows pink and it swings it at Stoutland, hitting him, and dealing damage.
"Use Bite!" said Lana. Stoutland runs at Yamask and bites it, dealing super effective damage and making it flinch. "Crunch, Stoutland!" Stoutland bites Yamask, dealing enough damage to knock it out.
"Yamask is unable to battle; Stoutland wins the match." said the official.
"Lana's Stoutland beats Allister's Yamask; what will Allister do now?" asked the announcer.
"Go, Lana!" cheered Lincoln.
"You can do it!" said Lola.
"We know you can do it!" said Leni. Back in Royal Woods at the Loud residence.
"Lana's doing good so far." said Lynn Sr.
"What Pokemon do you think Allister will bring out next?" asked Harold McBride.
"Whatever it is, I'm sure Lana can handle it." said Lynn Jr.
"It would be wise not to underestimate Allister." said Lisa.
"Whatever." replied Lynn Jr. Back at Stow-on-Side stadium, Allister returns Yamask to its pokeball.
"You rest now, Yamask." said Allister. He puts Yamask's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Mimikyu, go." He throws Mimikyu's pokeball and releases it.
"Allister has brought out his Mimikyu; can it beat Lana's Stoutland?" asked the announcer.
"Mimikyu, use Slash." said Allister. Mimikyu jumps at Stoutland and slashes him with its stick tail, damaging him.
"Stoutland, use Crunch!" said Lana. Stoutland runs at Mimikyu and bites onto it, but due to Mimikyu's Disguise ability, it doesn't take much damage.
"Mimikyu, Copycat." said Allister. Mimikyu jumps at Stoutland while a white aura resembling a pair of teeth appears in front of it and it bites onto Stoutland, damaging him, and weakening his defense.
"Oh man; Copycat mimics the last move used on the Pokemon that uses it, so Mimikyu copied Crunch." said Lincoln.
"Stoutland can still beat Mimikyu." said Lola.
"Stoutland, use Crunch!" said Lana. Stoutland charges at Mimikyu and bites it, dealing damage to it.
"Wood Hammer." said Allister. Mimikyu leaps at Stoutland while its stick tail grows and is surrounded by a black aura and it hits Stoutland with it, knocking him out; Mimikyu receives recoil damage from Wood Hammer.
"Stoutland is unable to battle; Mimikyu wins the match." said the official.
"Allister's Mimikyu has beaten Lana's Stoutland, now Lana is down to three Pokemon." said the announcer.
"Don't worry, Lana!" said Lincoln.
"You can do it!" said Lola. Back at Royal Woods.
"I told you not to underestimate Allister." said Lisa.
"Allister just got lucky." said Lynn Jr.
"This coming from someone who relies more on luck to win her games than actual skill." said Lisa.
"Lana still has three Pokemon left." said Lynn Sr.
"Think they can do it?" asked Rita.
"I literally hope so." said Lori. Back at Stow-on-Side stadium, Lana returns Stoutland to his pokeball.
"You did great, boy." said Lana. She puts Stoutland's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Go, Salazzle!" She throws Salazzle's pokeball and releases her.
"Lana brings out her Salazzle; will she be able to beat Allister's Mimikyu?" asked the announcer.
"Salazzle, use Poison Fang!" said Lana. Salazzle jumps at Mimikyu while her fangs glowed purple and she bites Mimikyu, doing super effective damage; purple bubbles come out of Mimikyu.
"Looks like Mimikyu's poisoned." said Clyde.
"That ought to teach Mimikyu for messing with Stoutland." said Lola. Lucy sneaks a frown at Lola.
"Mimikyu, Slash." said Allister. Mimikyu jumps at Salazzle and slashes her with its stick tail; Mimikyu loses energy from its poison.
"Salazzle, Venoshock!" said Lana. Salazzle shoots globs of purple liquid out of her mouth, and they hit Mimikyu, doing massive damage due to Venoshock doing extra damage to a poisoned opponent.
"Mimikyu, Slash." said Allister. Mimikyu slashes Salazzle with its stick tail, damaging her. Mimikyu loses energy from its poisoning and begins to stagger.
"Incinerate!" said Lana. Salazzle fires a beam of fire surrounded by fiery rings at Mimikyu, hitting it, and knocking it out.
"Mimikyu is unable to battle; Salazzle wins the match." said the official.
"Lana's Salazzle has beaten Allister's Mimikyu, bringing Allister down to two Pokemon." said the announcer.
"You're doing great, Lana." said Lincoln.
"Just three Pokemon to go!" said Leni. Allister returns Mimikyu to its pokeball.
"You did well, Mimikyu." said Allister. He puts Mimikyu's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Cursola, go." He throws Cursola's pokeball and releases it.
"Allister brings out his Cursola." said the announcer.
"Salazzle, Fire Lash!" said Lana. Salazzle charges at Cursola while her tail was surrounded by fire and she strikes Cursola with it, dealing damage, and weakening its defense; its defense weakens even more while its speed increases from her Weak Armor ability.
"Cursola, Ancient Power." said Allister. Silver energy surrounds Cursola's body and it forms into a ball; Cursola launches it at Salazzle and hits it, dealing super effective.
"Salazzle, use Knock Off!" said Lana. Salazzle charges at Cursola while her arm glowed white and strikes it, dealing super effective damage. Cursola's defense weakens more and her speed increases.
"Ancient Power." said Allister. Cursola fires another silver energy ball at Salazzle, hitting it, and dealing enough super effective damage to knock her out.
"Salazzle is unable to battle; Cursola wins the match." said the announcer. Cursola begins surging with energy from Ancient Power, increasing her stats.
"And Allister's Cursola has beaten Salazzle; what will Lana do now?" asked the announcer. Back at the Loud residence.
"Now Lana only has two Pokemon left." said Lori.
"I hope Lana can pull through." said Rita.
"She can do it." said Lynn Jr.
"Yes; we must believe in her." said Lynn Sr. Back at the stadium, Lana returned Salazzle to her pokeball.
"Don't worry, Salazzle, you did great." said Lana. She puts Salazzle's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Go, Jolteon!" She throws Jolteon's pokeball and releases her.
"Lana has brought out a Jolteon." said the announcer.
"Keep it up, Lana!" said Ronnie Anne.
"You can still pull through!" said Sam.
"Cursola, Astonish." said Allister. Cursola moves towards Jolteon and makes a scary face, making him stumble back and fall, hurting himself, and making him flinch. "Now use Hex." Cursola forms an orb of black energy with a red eye; it fires blue energy rings out of its eye andit hits Jolteon, damaging him.
"Jolteon, Thunder Fang!" said Lana. Jolteon runs at Cursola while his fangs were surrounded by electricity and bites it, dealing massive damage due to its greatly weakened defense; it begins to twitch.
"I think Cursola's paralyzed." said Lincoln.
"Go, Lana!" said Clyde.
"Cursola, try using Ancient Power." said Allister. Cursola fights through its paralysis and launches another silver ball of energy at Jolteon, hitting him; Cursola begins surging with energy and its stats increase.
"Jolteon, use Discharge!" said Lana. Jolteon unleashes bolts of electricity from his body, and they hit Cursola.
"Cursola, use Astonish." said Allister. Unfortunately for him, paralysis stops Cursola from attacking.
"Thunder Fang!" said Lana. Jolteon bites Cursola with electric covered fangs and deals enough damage to knock it out.
"Cursola is unable to battle; Jolteon wins the match." said the official.
"Lana's Jolteon has defeated Cursola; now Allister is down to his last Pokemon." said the announcer.
"You're doing great, Lana!" said Lincoln.
"Just one Pokemon to go." said Sam. Allister returns Cursola to its pokeball.
"You did well, Cursola." said Allister. He puts Cursola's pokeball away and pulls out another onewhile his eyes glowed purple.
"We know what Allister's next Pokemon is." said Clyde.
"Gengar, go." said Allister, throwing Gengar's pokeball and releasing it.
"And Allister has brought out his Gengar." said the announcer. Allister returns Gengar to its pokeball and enlarges it with his Dynamax Band; he throws it, releasing his Gengar, now Gigantimaxed. "And Allister has Gigantimaxed Gengar; will Jolteon be able to handle it?"
"Gengar, Max Darkness." said Allister. Gengar unleashes streams of black energy from its hands, and they hit Jolteon, knocking it out.
"Jolteon is unable to battle; Gengar wins the match." said the official.
"In one move, Allister's Gengar has beaten Lana's Jolteon; bringing her down to one Pokemon." said the announcer.
"Ooh, that was brutal." said Lynn Jr from Royal Woods.
"Now Lana has only one Pokemon left." said Luan.
"I hope she can do it." said Howard McBride.
"We have to believe in her." said Rita. Back at Stow-on-Side stadium, Lana returns Jolteon to his pokeball.
"You did your best, Jolteon." said Lana. She puts Jolteon's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Seismitoad, go!" She throws Seimitoad's pokeball and releases him.
"And Lana has brought out a Seismitoad." said the announcer. Lana then returns Seismitoad to his pokeball and enlarges it with her Dynamax Band; she throws it and releases Seismitoad, now Dynamaxed. "Lana has Dynamaxed her Seisimitoad; will it stand a chance against Allister's Gigantimaxed Gengar?"
"Okay, Seimitoad, use Max Quake!" said Lana. Seismitoad releases a shockwave that sends pieces of the ground flying at Gengar, hitting it, and dealing super effective damage; Seismitoad's special defense increases from Max Quake. A dark aura suddenly surrounds Gengar, then Seismitoad.
"You activated Gengar's Cursed Body ability." said Allister.
"That means Seismitoad can't use Max Quake." said Lincoln.
"Seismitoad still has a few tricks up his sleeve." said Ronnie Anne.
"But he's not wearing a shirt or jacket." replied Leni, making Ronnie Anne facepalm herself.
"Gengar, use G-Max Terror." said Allister. Gengar creates ghostly furniture and launches it at Seismitoad; a portal of darkness that looked like Gengar appears below her, damaging him.
"Seismitoad, use Max Geyser!" said Lana. Seismitoad fires a massive beam of water at Gengar, hitting it; it began to rain in the arena.
"Awesome; now Seismitoad's water attacks are stronger now." said Lincoln.
"Hopefully enough to take down Gengar." said Lola.
"Gengar, Max Darkness." said Allister. Gengar fires streams of dark energy from is hands and they hit Seismitoad, dealing damage and weakening his special defense. Gengar suddenly returns to his regular size.
"And Gengar's Gigantimax form has worn off, returning it to its regular size." said the announcer.
"Now's your chance, Lana!" said Lola.
"Seismitoad, use Max Geyser!" said Lana.
"Gengar, Sucker Punch." said Allister. As Seismitoad was charging Max Geyser, Gengar jumps to him and punches him in the stomach; Seismitoad then fires Max Geyser at Gengar, sending it crashing onto the arena floor. Due to the rain from the first Max Geyser, the second one was stronger; it dealt enough damage to Gengar to knock it out.
"Gengar is unable to battle; Seismitoad wins the match." said the official. "The winner of this gym battle is the challenger, Lana Loud."
"Yeah!" cheered Lana, jumping up while raising a fist. Seismitoad returns to his regular size; Lana runs to him and hugs him.
"She did it!" said Lincoln.
"I knew she could do it." said Lola.
"Never doubted her for a second." said Luna. Everyone in Royal Woods cheered for Lana as well. Allister returns Gengar to its pokeball.
"You were great, Gengar." said Allister. He puts Gengar's pokeball away and walks to Lana. "You raised your Pokemon well, Lana."
"Thanks, Allister." replied Lana. Allister holds out a Ghost Badge towards Lana.
"For your victory here, I present you with the Ghost Badge." said Allister. He gives Lana the Ghost Badge, along with pokedollars. Later, in the lobby, everyone was congratulating Lana.
"You were amazing out there, Lana." said Lincoln.
"We're proud of you, sis." said Luna.
"We all are." said Sam. An official approaches the group.
"Which one of you is next?" asked the official.
"I believe I will, good sir." said Lola, stepping forward.
"Very well; when you're ready, you may go into the test area." said the official. Lola walks past the official towards the doors that went into the Test Area.
Leni and Lana have beaten Allister and earned their Ghost Badges; now Lola is next to face the Gym Test to earn the right to face Allister. Will she succeed? Find out.
