You Monster
"WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST DO?!" A shrill woman's voice cried out, "YOU KILLED HIM, JIN. YOU KILLED HIM, YOU MONSTER!" She once again screamed. Meanwhile, a young boy, no older than about six, stared in shock at his hand, now twisted into a freakish claw from the effects of his quirk. His crimson eyes widened as he looked upon what remained of his Father on the tips of his claws, now only a red stain with the occasional innard spread across the floorboards of the one-bedroom apartment.
Jin wasn't any better than the floor, soaked head to toe in his father's blood, having taken the full brunt of the spray caused by his very own claws. The world had frozen, or at least that's how it had seemed to the boy, he wanted to throw up. Sure, he didn't like his father, but he didn't like this either. Why had his quirk done that? How had his quirk done that? He could create little creatures out of whatever he touched, why does he now look so... inhuman?
Suddenly, his mind was snatched from his thoughts by the sound of a smashing glass, prompting him to turn around worriedly. "Mom?" He asked, still worried for his mother despite the situation he currently found himself in, she was the rock to his existence and had protected him from the wrath of his father countless times.
This made it all the more crushing when he saw her pointing the shattered end of a glass bottle at him, clear fear flooding her eyes, "Stay back or I'll fucking kill you, I swear to God!" She growled.
"Wha- Mom! Please!" The young boy cried, begging his mother to let him near, but every step he took only made the woman even more manic.
"I said STAY BACK!" She shouted, swinging the bottle at the preschooler as if he were a villain, "I'll kill you for what you've done, do you hear me?! I'LL KILL YOU!".
The boy's mother released a battle cry as she rushed the boy, murderous intent lining her voice as she made her mad dash, "NO! MOM WAI-!" Jin was cut off as his arm shifted once more. Before she could react, his mother's head was crushed and her body crashed to the floor, a long worm-like appendage with a powerful jaw munched on her skull to the boy's utter horror.
Heavy footsteps made their way down the corridor of their apartment building, stopping just outside Jin's home, making the boy freeze in fear, "Plant Hero: Green Thumb is here!" A woman's pleasant voice called, "Open the door and you will not be harmed!". Although the small boy would have loved to comply, his entire body had been engulfed in the same shifting feeling as before, leaving him frozen in his spot.
"Alright! I'm coming in!" She shouted, using a moss-like substance to weaken the door before kicking it in with ease, "Stop right the- Whoa! Kid are you OK?!" She interrupted her speech, seeing a small boy spasming on the floor next to two corpses. Green Thumb quickly made a report on her radio for medical assistance before ripping her cape off and laying it under the boy's head, "Don't worry, paramedics will be here soon." She said in a soothing voice.
Unfortunately, Jin could only try to warn her as his body changed at a rapid and painful pace, launching himself away from the woman and a few meters away. Green Thumb tried to approach the boy, however, a shrill scream stopped her advances instantly, his transformation becoming far more evident. In his final moments of control, Jin managed to croak out a weak and singular order.
"Run..."
The cell door slid open, the loud release of the pistons alerting the horned boy to the new presence entering the cold and empty room, a woman with long bluish-white hair and lapis eyes wandered around the room. She seemed to be wearing a sort of uniform and looked to be in her early to mid-thirties, the woman held an air of superiority to the way she moved, staying quite reserved as she examined the countless drawings plastered on the cell's walls.
"Jin Sudama I assume?" She spoke more as if it was a statement than a question, her eerily blue eyes glaring at the boy, "I must say, I didn't expect Asphodel's second most secure prisoner to have a passion for art, but there isn't much else to do here anyway.". Her attempts at small talk didn't pierce the boy's stone-cold exterior, not even the slightest thing about his expression changing.
"What do you w-want?" His voice faltered slightly, not having much experience talking to anyone, the only chink in his 'tough guy' persona.
A small grin masked itself onto the woman's face as she looked at the boy, "Straight to the point, I like it,", opening a briefcase in her hand, she pulled out a career application form. "This," She gestured to the piece of paper in her hand, "Is the career application form that you filled out roughly 8 years ago, it states that you want to go down the path of Heroism.".
Jin's face went a violent shade of scarlet as this woman began to read from the sheet which he had thought would be private, "It says, 'I wish to someday become a Hero so that I can pay back the debt I owe to the twelve Heroes that died to end my rampage, I believe I must do this to honour my Mommy and-".
"SHUTUPSHUTUPSHUTUP!" Jin cried from embarrassment at hearing his own words read from the mouth of such a distinguished woman, unable to cover his ears due to the cuffs restraining him. "Just- just tell me what y-sou wanted to s-say." He mumbled, recovering from his outburst, with a tinge of red still in his cheeks.
"Understood," The woman nodded, having derived some sort of sick pleasure in seeing the teen embarrassed like that, "Well, seeing that you are driven to become a Hero, seem to regret your actions from your crimes, and have passed all psychiatric examinations, unlike others in this hell hole, I believe I may be able to grant your wish.".
"Huh? How? I still have like three years to s-serve, and I've already m-missed the window for joining a H-Hero School." He asked, his pessimistic nature wondering if this woman was just trying to make fun of him.
"That is where I come in." She said, a smile crossing her face, "Since you have no legal guardian, I am eligible to adopt you, and due to my status I will be able to get your sentence reduced to release with relative ease.". A confused look crossed the boy's face, however, the woman just kept talking, "I will then enrol you in UA, joining Class 1A as a late member.".
Finally, with a chance to speak, Jin unloaded all of his questions, "What do you mean 'enrol me in UA', like the renowned Hero School? What makes you so sure that you could get me out? Why would UA even listen to you? Who are you?".
Although his questions came out in a jumbled mess, the woman seemed to fully register and process all of them, "You see, if the board refuses me, I'll just take back all of the defence equipment and money I have placed in this institute," She actually said this to the camera in the corner of Jin's room than the boy himself, which he assumed was meant to be some sort of power play.
"And for your other questions, I am Saiko Intelli, the Intelligence Hero: Miss Intelli, and also the principal of UA Hero Academy, so the school can't refuse you." Miss Intelli seemed to be rather proud of her plan, however, Jin had only one question.
"Why did you pick me?" This question seemed to take Saiko by surprise, any other inmate would have easily jumped at the offer to leave this shithole, however, she quickly schooled herself.
"Well, as I said before, you have passed all psychological examinations and seem to regret your actions, however..." She took a few moments to think of a response, having never given it much thought as far as an unknown 'desire', "I believe you and your Quirk, Monsterization, hold an extremely large amount of potential that if allowed to grow could be interesting. You could say I just wanted to experiment a bit." Saiko shrugged, seeming to be far less restrained than earlier.
Although he didn't like the fact he was being labelled as 'an experiment', he wasn't going to drop this amazing opportunity because he felt slightly offended, especially if it gave him a chance to pursue his dreams. "Alright, I'll do it.".
"Excellent!" Saiko clapped her hands, "Give me a few days and you'll be out of here and into UA. Unfortunately, you won't be allowed to bring any of your drawings with you, security and all that, but I'll give you the resources to make new ones once you're out." She explained as she walked towards the door.
Jin sat silently as he observed her movements, he couldn't understand her at all, and he didn't feel like that would change any time in the future. For now, he just sat in a giddy stupor, he was going to UA! Wait... he needed to think of a Hero Name, and a costume! He really wasn't prepared for this! Once released from his restraints, Jin scrambled to grab a piece of paper and began to furiously scribble ideas of names, costumes and the like.
For what it was worth, Jin felt more excited than he had ever felt before, he finally had a shot at redemption.
Jin stood in awe, staring at the large gates of the prestigious Hero Academy he was now attending, having a slight geek-out at the history and architecture of the place. Ever since he was a little kid, the horned boy had always wanted to see UA, having heard all of the stories from the small amount of TV content they were allowed to have in Asphodel.
But now he was actually a student there! It was mindblowing! Walking inside, Jin made his way towards Miss Saiko's office, fiddling with his uniform as he walked past a few students now and again making their way towards the lunch hall, or at least that's what he had guessed. Jin had been chauffeured in at around noon, apparently, he didn't need to be there until the Heroics lesson today and they were still preparing his room at the dorms, so Jin had to spend the previous night in a hotel.
So the boy used his time wisely and sketched up a couple of designs for his Quirk, and decided to continue a little more during his downtime later on, bringing his sketchbook with him. Knocking on the door, Saiko called him in with an overly cheerful "Enter,". Stepping into the door, Jin immediately took note of the copious amounts of awards lining the shelves and walls, "Ah, Jin, welcome to UA, I hope that Chujitsu treated you well on the drive here.".
"O-Oh, yeah, He was r-really nice." Now that he had left Asphodel and rejoined society, Jin was a complete mess, with every little thing being a new experience and leaving him nervous and paranoid.
"Great, well, your Class will be finishing lunch soon, so we must hurry and get you changed," Saiko said, throwing him a set of UA's iconic sports uniforms, "You'll be designing your Hero suit after this quick test, so we only have a gym uniform for you.".
"I-I have a t-test?!" The horned boy stammered, barely managing to catch the uniform out of shock, "B-But I haven't h-had any t-training yet!" He pleaded.
Miss Intelli let out a small chuckle at the boy's antics, "It won't be going towards any grade, we just need to see what level you are at combat and Quirk wise.". It was like a weight had been taken off Jin's shoulders, his nerves calming down straight away. He was then swiftly led to the changing rooms before being brought to a large city by car.
And by large, it was large. "Holy Shit!" Jin shouted, pointing at the huge mock city. Was it even a mock one at this point? It could probably host an actual population in the thousands.
"Indeed, our Fake Cities are something to behold, however, they are nothing compared to what UA exhibited during the Great Hero War." She said, seeming to reminisce slightly over the thought, "But that was before your time, we're here.".
The car skidded to a halt, causing Jin, who wasn't wearing a seat belt to get a better look at the city, to smash his face off of the seat in front of him. Both climbed out of the automobile, which quickly sped away, and were met by the gigantic door which led into the city, "Alright, we will now wait for your class to arrive.".
"What? B-But aren't I d-doing a test?" Jin asked, confused about why his class should be present.
"Just wait, you will find out once they're here" She was secretive, huh?
Eventually, a bus began to approach the city, making Jin slightly nervous that he looked like a mess. He had only cut his hair once since he was thrown into Asphodel, so it was already shoulder length, and his horns had grown much larger than he would have liked, as well as his ears and teeth taking a more pointed shape. Unfortunately, he would just have to bear with it as the bus had finally pulled up.
The first to exit the bus seemed to be his Heroics teacher, about a similar age to Saiko, however, she was donning a green, frog-themed wetsuit, and her features also seemed to follow a similar theme, having a large mouth and hands. Her green hair had grown to about waist-length before being tied into a cutesy bow, "Alright, kero, you can come out now.".
Suddenly, a swarm of teenagers battled their way out of the bus, appearing to be a feral bunch, however, once getting outside they immediately got into a respectful line, seeing the principal standing there waiting for them. "Well, at least you brats have respect for someone, kero," The greenette murmured as she walked up to Saiko and Jin, "You must be Sudama, I'm Froppy, but you can just call me Miss Tsu, kero." She smiled at the boy.
Turning back to face her confused class, Miss Tsu began to speak, "Ok brats, today we will be doing a simple combat simulation." The teens seemed to become more rowdy at this, a select few already beginning to eye each other up. "There will be two teams, decided via lots, Team A will be escorting a VIP, Mr Sudama here, and Team B will be trying to intercept this escort.".
Turning to look at Jin, Miss Tsu continued her explanation, "Mr Sudama, you are trying to escape the custody of Team A and avoid capture from both teams. Whatever team has Sudama at the end wins, however, you can both lose.".
As they began picking lots for teams, Jin looked at Saiko with a panicked expression, "This i-is a bit t-tough for my first lesson!" He spoke quietly, the class cheers as they got their teams drowning him out.
"Don't worry, the class is only two weeks into lessons, so you aren't too far behind." Her words soothed Jin's worries slightly, but he was still pretty jittery.
"Sudama, it's time for you to go in." Miss Tsu shouted, snapping him from his thoughts
"S-So what should I d-do-?" Jin was cut off as a set of handcuffs was placed on the boy, causing him to panic.
Sensing his panic, the teacher placed a hand on his shoulder, "I know what's up with you and your past, kero, these are weak non-quirk-blocking cuffs, you should be able to escape them easily with your strength.". Nodding, the teacher walked the boy over to his 'captors', "This is a trial, don't go overboard you guys." She said looking at a few certain students.
"OK, get going, Team B has already been sent in, you have half an hour," She said, opening the giant door "Good luck!".
"So, what's the deal with you Horny?" A girl with two pink twin tails asked, pointing a comically large hammer at Jin, who was currently being carried by a giant man with the features of a shark, "Are you, like, an unlucky second year that stuck with hostage duty?".
Jin completely ignored her question, trying his best to think of a single way to escape the situation he was in, he was currently outnumbered ten to one and this shark guy wasn't exactly gentle with his grip strength. He needed the enemy team to find them and start fighting, then he would use that chance to sneak away, or at least make distance.
"Masu! You shouldn't be talking to Sudama, he is a villain in this simulation," A boy made of a green, crystal-like substance scolded the girl, who just rolled her eyes with a dramatic groan, "You also should give people nicknames based on their appearance, especially one so... vulgar.".
"Would you two shut up with your bickering," A blonde-haired girl shouted, "The enemy team will hear us!".
At that moment, the man carrying Jin froze in his spot, signalling for his comrades to quiet down, 'He must have some sort of tracking quirk, someone must be nearby!'. A brilliant idea formed in Jin's mind, going back to 'Damsel in Distress' Training 101, "HEEEEEEELLLLLLLPPPPPPP! SOMEBODY HEEELLLLPPPP MEEEEEEEE!" Team A hadn't thought to gag the horned boy, allowing him to alert the enemies. They had forgotten that he was also an enemy, and that was what had caused their downfall.
"Shit! Shut up, Man! Shut up shut up!" A boy in a knight-like costume hissed, trying to hush Jin, which only spurred him to scream louder, "Listen, if you don't shut up we'll have to-!".
He was cut off as a nearby manhole flew into the air, "Target located, in the middle of sector B, you'll see me on the rooftops," said the figure that had launched itself upwards after the hunk of metal. Before they could react, the manhole was smashed into the shark man's stomach, loosening his grip on Jin, who was then swiftly stolen from him.
The boy couldn't help but feel a little woozy as he was suddenly dragged up to the roof of the building, "Catch me if you can!" A feminine voice taunted as she swiftly ran across the rooftops. "Looks like this was a cakewalk after a-oof!" Once again, forgetting that Jin was a competitor too, the girl carrying him had left herself open to an attack, in this case, an elbow to the gut.
Unfortunately, Jin was dropped straight through the window of a building, leaving him stunned for a few seconds, letting out a cry of pain as a rather large piece of glass embedded itself into his arm, "Shit!" He hissed under his breath. Quickly, Jin pulled out his notebook, trying to make sure no blood got onto it, he found one of his two sketches, "Small Class: Crabs!" He shouted, slamming his hand on the floor.
Monsterization
Monsterization allows the user to turn anything they touch into a Monster, which they can then control. Monsterization depends on stamina for use, so larger monsters require more stamina to make.
After about a minute, three spots on the floor began to rumble before a few lumps of rock with six feet climbed out of the floor, each about five inches in diameter. Wordlessly, they climbed onto the boy's body and broke his cuffs, latching onto him as he ran towards the fire exit, getting out to the ladders and speedily clambering down into the alleyway.
As he ran out into the street, Jin bit down on his sleeve as he pulled the shard of glass from his arm, the wound mostly closing up but still leaking a small amount of blood. Monsterization gives minor healing effects when not active in the body, however, these effects are boosted massively when it is used on a limb, which he would prefer to avoid.
"Okay, I can do this!" He sighed to himself as he ran to find a good hiding place, 'I need to find somewhere out of this area since that speedy girl will be looking for me by now, but it needs to be close enough so that I don't run back into that guy's tracking quirk'. Looking around for a few seconds he spotted a tall apartment building a couple blocks away, 'That's perfect! I'll be high enough that I'll be able to see anyone coming but can still escape in time.'.
Sprinting towards the building, a slight shimmer of something caught the boy's eye, however, he ignored it and continued his course towards the building. Suddenly something wrapped around his legs and hoisted him into the air, like an iron cable but invisible, he mentally commanded two of his crabs to jump down and hide, while he told the other to sneakily begin cutting him down.
"Nice one, Kiyoi!" The speedy girl's voice cheered much to the embarrassment of her associate.
"I-It wasn't that m-much Hayate, y-you were the one to f-find him." She said, pulling her witch hat down to cover her blushing face.
Now that he wasn't moving at Mach 10 speeds, Jin could get a good look at Hayate, as she was apparently called. She was on the shorter side, about five-three, but made up for it in muscle mass, her army green vest showing off her well-built arms. A grey bob framed her face, and her brown eyes stared directly at Jin, if she wasn't so scary, he would say she was pretty.
"Hey Jackass!" She shouted, pointing at the trapped boy, "You can't just gut-punch me mid-air, I almost got hurt!" Confusion lined the boy's face as she ranted on about air safety and the such.
"B-But you shot a m-manhole cover at that g-guy earlier!" He shouted back, pointing a finger towards her, "Plus, this is a c-combat simulation!".
"What was that?" She growled, a murderous aura surrounding her as she began to stomp towards the horned boy, "I'll show you combat you little shit!" Oh, he had done it now!
'Hurry up Crab 1, she's gonna kill me!' He thought causing the creature's sawing to become even more violent.
"There's no p-point t-trying to cut your way out," Kiyoi said, standing behind her emotional friend, "My Hyalokinesis allows me to c-control all the glass in a 50-meter radius, and the o-other g-glass around your leg will s-stay there, it isn't like a r-rope." She explained meekly.
Kiyoi seemed to be the polar opposite of her friend, being taller at about five-six and having a more athletic build, or at least from what Jin could see since she was also donned in a short-sleeved purple suit vest and a dress shirt. Her pink eyes darted around as she spoke, showing that she was far less sociable than her companion, just looking like she wanted to leave.
'Well, shit.' Jin thought, 'Time for plan B. Crab 2, Crab 3, Self Destruct.' Both Crabs scuttled towards the girls before jumping into the air, quickly exploding into sharp shrapnel of rock and causing the girls to take cover. Luckily, this distracted Kiyoi enough that she dropped her focus, and thus Jin, who instantly began to sprint away from the duo.
"No, you don't!" Hayate shouted, seeming to fire pressurised air out of her feet to launch forward at immense speeds. Jin quickly deployed Crab 1 to self-destruct, however, the grey-haired girl easily evaded it, "Won't get me twice dumba-!" She was cut off by a swift punch to the face, sending her sprawling across the tarmac. He had used the girl's focus on dodging to his advantage getting a quick sucker punch in.
Unfortunately, he had completely forgotten about the glass wielder he had left in his dust, who used a shop window to slam into him and launch him across the street. Now without any Monsters and countless slices across his body, Jin was pretty boned, in a serious way, he needed to use his Quirk, but he didn't have enough stamina to waste it on a new Monster.
"I'll just try to run away while she helps the fast one-!" Turning a corner Jin was met with a horrifying sight, pretty much the entirety of Team A, "Crap.".
"There you are Horny!" Masu cried, smiling at the boy with some sort of twisted joy at seeing his fear, "Looks like you got out your cuffs, but that won't be a problem!". Launching herself at the boy, Jin barely managed to react in time and block as a powerful fist met his forearms, breaking them instantly and firing him into a wall, "See, not a problem!".
She came rushing at the boy with her hammer, which would no doubt knock him out, and caused the boy to begin panicking, 'Shit! I've gotta transform, it's the only way I can get out of this!'. He allowed his arms to morph into a monster form, nothing special, it was just a stronger arm, more armoured, more muscular, and much stronger.
The skin on his arms turned jet black as he reeled back for a punch, upon making contact with the hammer, the weapon crumpled as if made of foil, shocking the girl on the other end. 'I can't maintain this! I need to get outta here, NOW!' Digging his fingers into the wall, Jin threw himself up to the roof of the building before any of Team A could attack.
Catching himself on a railing, he slingshot himself into a run, making space between him and the now pursuing Team A, with about half of them chasing him down now. While he ran, his arms reverted to human form, no longer broken, but still pretty damaged, Masu really packed a punch, his arms were bruised and his bones were still slightly fractured even after healing.
Looking back at his perusers, Jin didn't have much hope for escape, one boy was flying towards him with bird wings, another was creating a constant stream of ice to propel himself, and one girl was sliding across the rooftop as if it were mud and the other girl was basically just flying at him. Utterly exhausted and with two pretty much broken arms, Jin felt as if the world was spinning.
Still, he leapt for the fire escape of the next building over, managing to land on the lowest one and smash his way into the apartment inside, hurting his leg with the landing. Jin used this slight visual barrier to hide and rest, hopefully getting enough stamina to fully heal his arms at least, closing himself in one of the apartments after escaping the one he originally entered through.
"Alright, I need to buy myself some time... but how?" Jin murmured to himself, getting the idea to barricade the door with whatever he could find, chairs, desks, he even put a fridge in front of it. He doubted it would actually prove any challenge for them to destroy, but it could buy him a couple of seconds of escape time if they did arrive while he was resting.
Taking the mattress off of the bed in one of the rooms, he opened the window and threw it into the alley below, if he was found he would jump out of the window since it was only the first floor. Accepting he had done everything he could with his current circumstances, Jin sat down on the floor next to the escape window and pulled out his sketchbook. He might as well spend his rest time doing something productive.
"Looks like he's doing quite well, kero," Froppy spoke, observing the monitor focused on Jin, who was happily sketching away in the meanwhile, "He's got a good head on his shoulders, being able to outwit Torino and Hakaui using those crabs and use the class's tunnel vision against them.". Saiko nodded as she took a sip from her tea flask, allowing the pro hero to continue with her analysis, "However, kero, his disuse of Monsterization on himself has been his main downfall. I believe that is more due to it being harder to control and personal preference than stamina drain since he seemed to easily continue running even after using it.".
Finishing her sip, Saiko finally decided to add some input to the situation, "It would appear that Jin has a sort of subconscious fear of using his Quirk on himself, most likely stemming from the trauma from his childhood". Thinking back to when she read his file, Saiko continued, "However, the way his Quirk works means that when he creates a monster he is infusing his stamina into objects to change their form," Intelli took another sip of her flask.
"If he uses Monsterization on himself, he is essentially just infusing stamina into his own body, meaning he is losing stamina to enhance himself temporarily." She observed his screen once more, her Quirk's effect giving her more analytical observation, "Since the stamina infused is still within his body, it returns to him after he releases the transformation. So it is probably as difficult to maintain as creating something, it just has more return.".
"Well, it's for now, kero, it's only his first day," Froppy said, watching as her students began to approach Jin's room, "We'll just have to make him push past his limits and go beyond.".
Saiko smirked at her employee's cheesy use of the school's motto, "Indeed".
Jin was snapped from his drawing as he heard the door handle begin to move, "He's in here!" A masculine voice shouted from the other side of the door. The horned boy wasted no time grabbing his supplies and jumping out of the window, making sure to land on both of his legs this time to avoid any more injury. A loud bang came from the room he was just in, with the same voice shouting, "Aww man! He jumped out the window!".
He didn't bother to look back as he heard the boy land with a mighty thud, Jin just needed to get out into the street and he would have enough room to create a medium-class Monster. Finally reaching the exit, Jin dove to the left, allowing his pursuer to go flying out of the alley and skidding across the street, now appearing to look like a cheetah.
Not that it mattered, Jin had completed his goal, slamming his hand on the floor, he shouted, "Medium Class: Anubis!". He felt the energy leave his body and channel into the floor, with the ground beneath him beginning to slowly shift and move into the shape of the Monster.
Unfortunately, this also left him open to an attack from the cheetah boy, who now had arms like a gorilla, who took the opportunity to punch him a few meters away. "Listen, I don't know what you were shouting about there, but just go down peacefully, it'll hurt less." He said, allowing the horned boy to rise to his feet.
'I just need to stall him for about five minutes, then Anubis will be ready.' Wordlessly, Jin got into a sloppy fighting stance, keeping his crimson eyes locked on his opponent. The boy had no real fighting experience to back his confident look, however, he didn't need to win, he just had to not lose.
"I warned you." Jin waited for him to move, which he did, using his large arms to propel his relatively smaller body towards him, slamming his fists into the floor to create a spider web of cracks. Luckily, the horned boy managed to leap out of the way of the attack, which would have certainly crushed him if it made contact, "Looks like you aren't completely clueless, guess I'll have to turn it up a notch.".
Stopping his advances, the boy's arms began to shrink as his skin started turning a reddish-brown colour and gaining a harder texture, "Did you know that the cheetah isn't actually the fastest land animal?".
"Y-Yeah it is," Jin said, starting to feel slightly nervous at the boy's transformation, sensing the danger coming from the situation.
"Well, not relative to body length it isn't. It's actually the Paratarsotomus Macropalpis or the Southern Californian Mite." A grin spread across his face, he seemed to be genuinely enjoying this little nature lesson he was giving, "It can run three hundred and twenty-two times its body length in a second! Do you know how fast that is if it was a human?". Jin shakily shook his head, flicking his eyes to Anubis, he was almost done.
When he looked back the boy was gone, causing Jin to freeze, "It's approximately Mach 1.7." A voice whispered into his ear, a loud sonic boom echoing around the city, shattering countless windows. Jin spun around, only to be met by a supersonic gut punch, flinging him across the street and into a brick wall at immense speeds, cracking what was behind him.
The boy practically teleported to where Jin was and, seeing him slumped on the floor, released his form, "Damn, that takes a lot out of me, I need to do more stamina training.". Pressing an earpiece, the boy began to speak, "Guys, I got him, he's unconscious next to building- Urgh!" He was cut off by a giant wolf-like creature made of stone slamming into his side, creating a gap between him and Jin.
"Keep him occupied Anubis, I'm gonna get out of here." He said, placing a hand on the canine to steady himself. Anubis, the other Monster Jin had brainstormed last night, had the appearance of a four-meter-long wolf that sported a large mouth filled with at least a hundred razor-sharp teeth. It was made for offensive purposes and Jin was pretty proud of himself, it would be a cool addition to the arsenal that currently only consisted of Crabs.
Sprinting down the street, Jin prayed to himself that Anubis would be enough to hold that guy back, he had spent pretty much everything he had on creating that dog, and if it was easily shattered he might begin to sob.
'That guy's Mite form was pretty strong too, if I hadn't activated Monsterization on my back there, I would have for sure been crippled.' Jin rubbed his back, it had still hurt a lot, but it was more just bruised now than shattered. Unfortunately, he didn't have time to whine as his newest challenger made her entrance, and in a spectacular way too.
Jin collapsed to the floor as a searing hot pain burnt at the elbow of his right arm, "Sudama, you'll be coming with me now." A feminine voice coldly ordered. A wet thud sounded throughout the deathly silent street, the newly appeared girl in a knight costume flicking blood off of her samurai sword.
It took a few seconds for him to process what had happened, but when he saw all of the crimson blood leaking from the newly created stump at his elbow, it all clicked.
"MY FUCKING ARM! YOU CUT OFF MY ARM!" He wailed in agony, grasping at the stump as he sobbed.
"You'll get it back, now stop cryi-!" She was cut off as Jin's newly created monster limb grabbed onto her right forearm, using his inhuman grip strength to crush her bones. A small whimper escaped her lips as he did so before she started trying to escape his death grip, only for him to throw her down the block, coming to a tumbling halt about ten meters away.
"Are these guys trying to kill me?!" He grumbled to himself deciding to transform his other arm to a monster form so he wouldn't have to rely solely on his right. It would take time for his arm to fully reform, but he should still be able to make it through this exam without losing much more energy.
"Wow, you really fucked up Shokunin, huh?" A cocky-sounding boy's voice spoke, spurring Jin to turn around and look at him. He was about five-nine and had short blue hair and eyes, he wore a navy blue bodysuit with green highlights that had a hood at the top. He appeared to have a set of green arm and leg bracers and finished the look with some black combat boots, "It sucks that I'll need to knock you out, I bet you're super strong!".
"W-What makes you so s-sure?" Jin asked, getting pissed off at this guy's lack of caution, well, more like his overabundance of confidence.
"That's simple!" He said, dashing forward towards Jin, "I'm gonna be the next Number One Hero!".
Although he was making some pretty hefty claims, his power wasn't living up to his promises, with him being slower than that knight girl that he seemed to place himself above. 'Looks like he was just chatting a bunch of shit...' Jin thought, unleashing a powerful strike onto the boy's ribcage, which should have shattered it and left him unconscious on the floor.
However, he simply skidded to the side slightly, not even moving a meter, "Ooh! That was strong! My ribs actually hurt!" He laughed poking what should have been a shattered rib.
'He must have a defence quirk!' Jin thought, dashing towards the boy, 'Then he'll have some sort of upper limit!'. Jin began delivering blow after blow to the bluenette, the air pressure created was strong enough to shatter the glass of the surrounding buildings, but he just laughed it off. The only visible damage the boy had taken was a few bruises here and there that would heal in a day.
By the end of the combo, Jin was exhausted, the monster arms were taking up too much stamina, however, he couldn't release them yet in case his actual arm hadn't healed yet.
"My Quirk is called Kinetic Stockpile," The boy began, walking towards the panting Jin, who was barely listening and just put up a weak defence, "And it lets me absorb any impact I receive and store it for up to five minutes, which I can then release whenever I please.". Looking at the watch on his wrist, he smiled, "And you hit the first punch three minutes and forty seconds ago.".
Jin then fully registered what the boy was saying, fully transforming into his monster form right as he wound back his fist, "100% Release!".
The moment his fist made contact with Jin he was hit with the power of a warhead explosion, flying through seven buildings before coming to a stop, and even then the one he stopped in was pretty much levelled.
In his last moments of consciousness, Jin could only helplessly watch as the bluenette walked through the rubble murmuring something about "Getting the target" or whatever. Allowing his transformation to release, his clothes were mostly tattered since they were made to fit a five-foot-seven teen and not a nine-foot monster, he felt himself get slung over someone's shoulder before his vision was overtaken by darkness.
'Did I pass?'
Well, that's all for the first chapter of (Whatever I decide to call this)! This is the second major fic that I've ever made, but I forgot the details of my old account, so I just decided to go full clean slate and make a new account (See if you can guess who I am!). I was a bit iffy about what I should make this fic about, so I dug out one of my old Quirk concepts and just built off of that.
I've only ever created one original character, so I'm a bit out of my depth with having twenty-one of them so far, but I think this idea has the potential to grow and I was sick of thinking of ways to change Izuku and the Gang's stories, so I just made a new one. As you can probably guess, this story isn't completely disconnected from the original MHA story, and many of the original characters will have roles in this journey, just not as important as the new Class 1A.
I hope that you enjoyed this chapter enough to read the next one and if you have any suggestions for future monsters that Jin should make, just put it in the comments and I might consider adding them, or at least take inspiration.
Until next time!
