After everyone dried themselves off from diving, Viney and Skara were playing frisbee together while Luz was tending to Amity's red belly from her disastrous diving skill. The latter was laying on a towel while Luz was on her knees applying some sunscreen to the mark
"Does it still hurt, Amity?" Luz asked her girlfriend.
"A little." Amity replied as she smacked Edric's hand away from the mark. "Just hope it doesn't stay on for too long."
"I sure hope not." Luz said while smacking Emira's hand away.
"I hope this will help with the pain, because I don't want Edric and Emira to…" She smacked both of her siblings hands away.
"Come on Mittens!" Edric chided.
"Edric, Emira, no!" Amity exclaimed.
"We're just having a bit of fun, sis." Emira defended herself.
"Yeah. It's so fun in fact, that I think Emira has forgiven me for drawing my face on her stomach." Edric stated.
"Don't push it, Ed!" Emira chided.
Amity's face turned red in annoyance, causing her siblings to laugh. "Aww! Her face matches her stomach." Edric remarked.
Luz narrowed her eyes at the Blight siblings. "Come on, knock it off you two."
"Luz, one day you will understand how satisfying it is to poke something as humorous as that." Edric retorted.
Luz grinned. "I'm not gonna lie, your tanning disasters are kind of humorous."
"Oh, don't you start." Emira pleaded.
"No, no, no, I'm just complimenting. Also, Hooty, Tommy The Talking Tummy and Edric The Conversational Belly want to listen to you talk about every thing you have in your stomach."
"REALLY?!" Suddenly, Hooty slithered in front of Edric and Emira's respective stomachs and began talking to them. "Should we talk about food or miscellaneous items? Oh! I have a cake. Can't remember if it's red velvet or chocolate milk. Oh, an empty bottle of soy milk. I also have a puddle sunscreen." As he spoke to their tanning marks, the Blight twins began to back away in terror.
Instead of being annoyed, they looked pleased with Luz. "Nice one, Luz." Emira remarked.
"Well done! You better marry our sister in the future!" Edric cried.
"But now, for the love of Titan, save us!" Emira cried while Hooty just continued.
Luz and Amity shared a laugh together. The latter looked at her girlfriend with a grateful smile. "Thank you, Luz."
Luz smiled. "You're welcome, beautiful." She shared a kiss with her girlfriend before laying down with her to bathe in the sun.
Boscha stood behind them, laughing at Edric and Emira's misfortune. "Good thing I don't have an embarrassing mark on my body. You two will do that? You better!"
"Sure, Boscha." Luz replied.
"Whatever." Amity responded.
"Thank you." As Boscha walked away, the girlfriends looked at her back to see the tanning disaster done to her by King.
Luz and Amity chuckled at the sight. "Should we tell her?" Amity asked.
"Nah, let's have her figure it out." Luz said.
Soon, Vee and Masha returned to the group after visiting a beach they weren't allowed to reveal. "Don't tell Eda?" Masha asked.
"Exactly!" Vee replied.
They were greeted by Hunter and Willow. "Hey you two." Hunter said.
"Where were you?" Willow asked. "Luz won the diving contest by the way."
"Titan trick?" Vee asked.
"Titan trick." Hunter and Willow confirmed simultaneously.
"Where were you?" Willow asked. "You just vanished out of the blue."
"Was it the shark?!" Hunter got into a defence position. "Has it come back for blood?"
"No, we just went into that nearby cave." Masha replied.
"To do what?" Willow asked.
Vee and her partner were silent for a moment as they had to come up with a lie. "Uh…Magic." Willow raised a brow while Hunter looked confused. "Oh speaking of, do you have any cards? My magic is kind of low."
"Waffles!" Hunter called out.
"Clover!" Willow called out to her Palisman.
The couple's respective Palismans flew towards their respective owners. "Could you two get Vee's cards?" Hunter asked. "She wasted her magic."
Waffles and Clover bowed their heads before flying away to retrieve Vee's cards. They returned a short time later and handed the basilisk her cards.
"Thanks." After Vee absorbed them, she was back in her regular human disguise with no additional changes.
"Was there anything in that cave?" Hunter asked.
"It looks interesting." Willow said. "Does it have an end?"
"No! No end whatsoever!" Vee lied with a nervous smile. "Not even a nude beach."
Masha nudged her in the arm with their elbow. "Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Not sure why you mentioned that, babe."
"Just, came to my mind!" Vee laughed even harder, causing her jaw to drop wide open. This sight caused Hunter and Willow to be almost paralysed with fear.
"Oh, okay." Hunter said while he and Willow pulled cringe smiles before backing away in fear.
Vee eventually managed to rearrange her jaw. "Woo. I didn't know I could do that."
"Me neither." Masha remarked. "It looked like you could stuff a whole turkey in there."
"But still, we don't tell Eda." Vee said.
"I agree." Masha stated. "Or…We could have it all to ourselves." Vee just gave her partner a deadpan stare. "Ha! Ha! Jokes! I swear."
Elsewhere, Viney was playing frisbee with Skara. The bard teacher tossed her disc towards Viney that she caught.
"Heads up!" Viney tossed the frisbee disc towards her girlfriend which she caught.
In that moment, Skara began to sniff something. "Do I smell…Eggs?" She tossed the frisbee towards her girlfriend, which she managed to catch.
"Yeah I do." Viney tossed the frisbee back towards Skara.
"And they're sizzling." Skara tossed the frisbee back at Viney.
Viney caught the frisbee and began listening out for the sizzling. "Oh…I get it." She looked at her abs and saw they were sizzling like a grill. "Sizzling abs." She tossed her the frisbee back at her girlfriend.
"Huh?" Skara asked as she caught it before throwing it back at her.
"I had fried griffin egg this morning for breakfast and I thought it would be a fun idea to cook them on my abs." Viney replied before throwing the frisbee.
Skara gagged as she caught the frisbee. "Viney, I love you, but that's gross." She tossed the frisbee straight towards her but then, Barcus jumped up and caught the toy in his mouth.
Viney and Skara got annoyed with their dog witch demon friend. "BARCUS!"
"Sorry, it's in my nature." Barcus barked.
"Okay, just don't do it again." Viney removed the toy from his mouth and threw it back to her girlfriend. But once again, Barcus caught it.
Again, again, again, again, again and again, Barcus kept catching the frisbee in his mouth due to his animal instincts.
Viney got so annoyed. "THAT DOES IT!" She snatched the frisbee from his mouth and tossed the toy straight into the cave Vee and Masha came out of. Barcus chased after the frisbee while Viney began to stomp off in anger and frustration.
Skara followed her angry girlfriend and pressed her hands against her stomach. "Hey, hey, ow!" She pulled her hands back, forgetting that her abs were still sizzling. "Sorry. Viney, you can't let something like that get to you."
"Sorry! Sorry! Just very annoying." Viney explained.
"Is there anything you wanna do that might cheer you up?" Skara asked.
Viney began to think about what her girlfriend had suggested and then grinned. "Volleyball?"
Skara nodded her head. "Volleyball."
King then popped out of nowhere with Stringbean in hand as a mic. "VOLLEYBALL!"
The Beach Day Volleyball Contest
Boscha walked in front of the title card. "Huh?" She reacted in confusion. "That's the second time!"
The players of the volleyball game included Luz, Amity, Willow, Hunter, Gus, Alador, Edric, Emira, Viney, Skara, Steve, Eda, Raine, Masha, Boscha and Vee.
While everyone was getting ready to play some volleyball, Darius was sitting under the shade, drinking one of Eda's margaritas in a glass with some ice cubes in the water.
"I hope you know the rules of volleyball because it go anyway. But for my interpretation, I was thinking there are nine strikes over the very net that stands as a barrier against the two teams. The team that gets the most, will transition to the next round. Also, there will be no limitations on magic so Luz, go crazy with the Titan powers. Okay gang, I thought we'd make things interesting and have two sets of teams playing against each other." King said. "So, someone pick a teammate and-"
"Amity!" Luz exclaimed, pulling her girlfriend close to her. "Amity and I will play against whoever."
King just sighed. "That doesn't surprise me."
Boscha nudged Alador on his shoulder. "I can't wait to beat your butt old man."
Alador looked offended with Boscha. "Excuse me?"
"You heard me, you're an old man, there is no way you can beat me." Boscha said. "Me and…" She pulled Viney next to her. "…Viney! That's it!"
Skara looked disappointed but then saw Raine. "Hey Raine, do you wanna play together?"
"It would be my pleasure, Skara." Raine gave a bow.
"Old?!" Alador looked offended. "Old?!
"Yeah." Boscha said.
Just then, she got smacked on the back of her head by what felt like a false hand. "Old?!" Eda exclaimed. "You think he's old?!"
"You're old too, so I don't know why you're offended!" Boscha retorted.
Eda began to process what the three eyed witch just said to her. "Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! Old?! Old?! Okay then, Alador, wanna show this joke how old we are?" They gave one another a high five.
Alador pulled a smug smile. "With pleasure."
And so the players were set. Luz and Amity, Willow and Hunter, Gus and Steve, Masha and Vee, Alador and Eda, Skara and Raine, Edric and Emira & Viney and Boscha.
Round 1: Amity and Luz vs Hunter and Willow.
"First up are the top two Boiling Isles couples. Luz and Amity vs Hunter and Willow!" King explained. "Who will come out on top? And will there be a breakup at the end of the match?"
"I hope not!" Jerbo shouted from the water.
"You sure you're good watching the match from out there, Jerbo?" Willow asked.
"You don't want to face a shark, do you?" Hunter asked.
Jerbo shivered. "I'm fine, Hunter. Really." He continued to swim, looking for his trunks. "Oooooh! Where are they? Oh clumsy, Jerbo! Clumsy!"
Back on the beach, Luz was tossing the ball up and down. "Ready? Go!" Luz tossed the first serve.
Hunter managed to hit back and then to Amity and then to Willow. Huntlow won the first strike just as Luz dived on the sandy beach to stop it.
Hunter tossed the second serve with Amity hitting back with Abomination gauntlets. Willow hit back by using her vine magic to make her jump high.
This serve caused her to win the next point.
"Two points in." Amity remarked.
"They're pounding us." Luz said.
"We could use some of that Titan magic." Amity suggested.
Luz smiled. "Amity, as much as I want to see you blushing like crazy, it would seem too soon. I have a plan, however."
Amity served the third serve. After it hitting back and forth between the two teams, Luz was open.
"Come on, Willow!" Luz exclaimed.
Willow hit the ball back but then, Amity jumped out of nowhere and hit the ball. Causing the two to score their first point.
"Yeah!" Luz and Amity shared a high five.
For the next few rounds, Luz won her team a point with a mighty jump; Hunter teleported his way for his team for a third point; Amity won her team another point by using her Abomination gauntlets; Willow by launching herself high; And Luz winning her team another point.
One more point to go. Either one of them could win this match. "Luz, do you have a plan?" Amity asked.
"Not at all." Luz replied. "I suggest we play."
Amity then noticed Willow sweating under the sun. She wiped some sweat from her brow as the sun shone on her shiny muscles.
Hunter suddenly showed up next to her and handed his girlfriend a water bottle. "Captain, here you go."
"Thanks, Hunny." She kissed her boyfriend on his cheek.
Hunter turned around while Willow in that moment, just poured the entire bottle of water all over herself, making her muscles shine brighter in the sunlight.
Amity grinned as she came up with an idea. "Hey Luz, King never said anything about not playing dirty."
"Huh?"
"Just keep your eyes on the ball." Amity served the volleyball towards her opponents.
For the first minute, Luz and Amity were perfectly deflecting the ball back to Hunter and Willow respectively. But then, Amity began to enact her ultimate move.
Amity smiled. "Hey Willow, did you put on some muscle?"
Willow hit the ball back. "I did, thanks for noticing."
"Is it the abs or the biceps? I can't tell." Amity said.
Willow hit the ball back. "Well, it's actually a bit of both. You can tell because my navel has stuck out more and my biceps seem to bulge." She hit the ball back. "Plus, I notice that every pack of muscle I have on my stomach almost looks like it will shoot out every one of my abdominal muscles."
"And Luz and Amity won!" King declared.
"Huh? What?" Willow reacted in confusion. "How? Hunter could you explain?" She saw him foaming from his mouth and eyes rolled back to his socket. "Hunter?! What happened?! You only pull this look when I talk about my….Muscles." She realised what Amity did and narrowed her eyes at her.
Amity just pulled a smug grin. "Ooops. I think it's safe to say that you 'abs-olutely' failed that one."
Willow just gave her friend a deadpan stare before drawing a spell circle that caused a vine to pop out of the sand. Then, it smacked Amity on her red belly, causing her to wail in pain.
"You too?!" Amity wailed.
Round 1: Amity and Luz vs Hunter and Willow
Round 2: Gus and Steve vs Raine and Skara
The two respective teammates stood across from one another ready to play against each other but with significant outfit changes. Steve was now wearing a shirt, Gus had a pair of shades on, Skara also had a pair of shades while Raine had taken their shirt off.
But what was distinct was the fact that three of the four players were dressed in jean shorts for some reason.
Camila raised a brow at the sight. "Why are they wearing jean shorts?"
Lilith shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know. I think it was Steve's idea. Wanted to make a reference to some LGBTQ movie he saw."
"What was it?" Camila asked. "Cause this is looking like Top Gun."
"That's the movie!" Lilith exclaimed. "He was especially invested with the growing romantic tension between Maverick and Iceman. Said it reminded him of the stories he heard about Luz and Amity."
Camila looked confused. "Uh…Maverick and Iceman weren't a couple."
"That's what I said. Maverick had more chemistry with his co pilot, Goose." Lilith said. "Shame the hatch didn't open fast enough or otherwise Goose could have lived. But why he had to cheat on Goose with that flight instructor I had no idea."
"But Goose had a wife in that movie." Camila said.
"He was cheating on her with Maverick!" Lilith exclaimed. "Honestly, I love them but they were such cheating scumbags!"
"I don't know what you two are talking about but I hope you don't mind me playing a stupid song Steve requested." Darius said.
He hit play on the stere, causing it to play a song. And that song was Playing With The Boys by Kenny Loggins.
During the song sequence, Raine spun the ball in their hands with their finger. Gus looked at his non existent watch on his wrist. "Let's go!" Gus clapped his hands.
This action made Raine make the first serve. Gus hit the ball towards Steve who tossed it back to him, managing to hit it over the net.
Raine hit the ball to Skara whom hit it back to Raine who managed to hit it over the net. Gus managed to slide on the sand to stop the ball and hit it to Steve who hit it to Gus. The illusionist witch jumped and hit the ball to the other side of the net.
Raine managed to stop the ball with one hit with their hand towards the other side. Steve managed to stop it and hit it to Gus, who managed to score them a point with a high jump. Raine unfortunately slid on the sand as they tried to stop it.
"Excellent!" Gus and Steve shared a high five and a low five with each other.
Then, Gus began to look at his non existent watch again all while Steve served the next serve. Skara made the next hit and then Gus before Raine managed to hit it to Skara who managed to hit the ball to the other side.
Gus tried stopping it by sliding on the sand, but unfortunately, Raine and Skara scored the first point.
"Woooooo!" Skara cried while doing a thrust.
As Gus stood up, he adjusted his shades and picked up the ball. Steve patted the defeated Gus on his back.
"Come on man, we're tied. We can beat them." Steve said as they walked away to think of a strategy.
Then for some reason, Skara just did a pose. Raine spun the ball with the tip of their finger. "Let's go!" Gus clapped his hands again which was the signal for Raine to make their serve.
Gus dived down on the sand, hitting the ball towards Steve and hit it back to Gus who jumped up high to hit it over the net. Skara dived to catch the ball but it only bounced off of her knuckles.
"Woo!" Gus pumped his arm before sharing a high five and a low five with Steve. "Alright!"
"YEESSSSSSS!" Skara screamed while flexing her arms.
Gus made the next serve over the net. Raine managed to hit the ball towards Skara and then back to Raine. They hit the ball over the net for Gus to hit towards Steve who hit it over the net to Raine and then back to Gus then Steve then Skara then Steve and with a final jump, Gus managed to hit the ball over the net, scoring his team a win.
"That's game!" Gus declared before sharing a high five and a low five with Steve.
Raine exhaled with annoyance. "I don't believe it. We didn't use magic."
"To be honest, I wasn't thinking about using magic." Skara just stood in place listening to the song. "The song just has a good tune don't you think?"
Round 2: Gus and Steve vs Raine and Skara
Round 3: Masha and Vee vs Edric and Emira.
The two respective players stood on the either side of the nets doing some stretches and warm ups. Both Edric and Emira were stretching by bending their backs which was causing their respective midriffs to stretch a bit.
This was amusing to Vee and Masha because they still had those disastrous tan marks on their respective stomachs.
"Hey Edric, Emira, are Tommy the Talking Tummy and Edric the Conversational Belly tired?" Masha and Vee laughed.
The respective twins figured out what they were joking about and stopped stretching. "Oh! Just for that, we're gonna wipe the beach with you!" Emira chided.
Masha spread their arms out. "Oh, it's on, beach!"
"Hang on Mash, I want to get a volleyball body." Vee said.
"Volleyball body?" Masha, Edric and Emira asked with raised brows.
"Volleyball body!"
In that moment, Vee adjusted her height to make herself a tad bit taller, her arm length and then began to add muscle to her body. Her biceps grew on her arms and her abdomen had grown some abs. The muscles were so well toned in fact that Willow and Viney were in shock by how well toned they were.
"Looks like we have competition." Viney remarked.
Vee finished changing her body from average to that of a muscular beach body. "Well Mash, what do you think?"
Masha was speechless and in shock over seeing their girlfriend with muscles. Then without any warning, they fainted.
"Masha!" Vee panicked. "Masha!" She ran to check in her unconscious partner.
Camila arrived with a med kit and began to check on their pulse. "They have a pulse."
"How did this happen?" Vee asked.
"They're fine, don't worry." Hunter assured them. "I got flustered like this the first time I saw Willow with her muscles."
"You still do." Vee retorted.
"But this is a first timer." Hunter said. "So they will be out cold for a good while."
"Can we forfeit this match?" Vee asked.
"It's allowed." King said.
Round 3: Masha and Vee vs Edric and Emira
Round 4: Alador and Eda vs Boscha and Viney
Alador and Eda were busy stretching to get their joints working. Boscha was busy taking selfies with her scroll while Viney was just scratching her butt.
"Look at them, Viney." Boscha made her scroll disappear. "Mr Blight is in way over his head if he thinks he can beat us."
"There we go!" Viney exclaimed. "Got that itch!"
Boscha rolled her eyes. "Never mind. I should have picked Willow."
"Hey, Tosha, are you gonna give us the first serve?" Eda asked.
Boscha looked at the volleyball she held under her arm before smiling. "Alright. Go ahead old man." She tossed the ball over the net, causing it to hit him on the head.
She laughed at Alador's misfortune while Viney just exhaled. "Come on Boscha, that's just cruel."
Alador picked up the ball and cracked his neck. "Old man, eh?" Alador threw the ball upwards and summoned an Abomination hand and hit it across the net.
But due to Boscha being unprepared, Alador and Eda won their first point. Boscha was shocked while Viney just shrugged her shoulders.
"Eh, I knew this would happen." Viney remarked.
Boscha picked up the ball and narrowed her eyes at them. "I wasn't ready you cheater!" Boscha set the ball on fire and tossed it over the net.
Eda in that moment, turned to harpy mode and hit the ball back at her. Viney hit the ball towards Boscha who hit it at Alador.
Alador just casually hit the ball over the net, scoring him and Eda another point.
Boscha grumbled. "This isn't over Blight!"
"It was over before it started, kiddo." Eda retorted. She served the ball over the net. Viney hit back towards them with Alador scoring the next point.
And two more hits later, Alador and Eda had won. "What?!" Boscha exclaimed.
Alador pulled a smug grin. "Old man huh? Old man my a-"
"Assessing the competition, it's clear Alador and my Mom have won!" King exclaimed.
Boscha grumbled. "I can't believe it! How could I have lost to a bunch of old people?!"
"Maybe because you underestimated a woman who saved The Demon Realm and the fact that I haven't forgiven you." Viney said.
"For what?!" Boscha exclaimed.
Viney motioned to her body. "This…This was what happened after you called me fat."
Round 4: Alador and Eda vs Boscha and Viney
Round 5: Amity and Luz vs Gus and Steve
Like last time, everyone but Steve were wearing jean shorts. Additionally, Amity had a pair of shades on.
"Wait a minute…How did we get into jean shorts?" Luz asked.
"And how did I get these shades?" Amity asked.
"I see what's going on." Luz remarked. "It would be just like last time when Gus and Steve were on."
"Oh, that scene from that LGBTQ movie?" Amity asked.
"Top Gun, yes." Luz replied.
"Let's hope it doesn't end up the same." Amity said.
Luz grinned. "It won't." She pulled a vial from her hair. "Body, power, soul and mind; Titan share me your gifts that bind." And with a bright flash, Luz was back in her Titan form.
"Luuuz…" Camila chided.
"I got another spare." Luz assured her mother.
"Let's serve!" Gus exclaimed. "Darius, play a tune."
Darius exhaled. "Of course, Mr Porter." He pressed the play button on the stereo causing Playing With The Boys by Kenny Loggins to play again.
Luz made the first serve, but due to her Titan powers, she managed to score her and Amity a first point.
"Hey! No fair!" Gus cried.
"King did say no limitations powers." Luz reminded him.
"It's true!" King reminded him.
"Well, if that's the case…" Gus made illusions of himself and Steve, blocking almost all of their side.
Amity looked at Luz. "Well…Looks like we got a challenge."
Steve made the first serve which Amity hit back without thinking. Gus hit the ball back to Steve who managed to get it over the net. Luz hit it, which caused the ball to go over the line.
"Over the line! Gus and Steve have the point!" King declared.
Luz and Amity looked at each other. "This one is gonna be difficult." Luz remarked.
And for the next couple of strikes, Gus and Steve managed to score two more points for their team thanks to the two of them going over the line.
Luz and Amity began panting due to exhaustion. "It's okay, it's one/three." Luz assured Amity.
"With this many Gus and Steves, it's hard to tell who's who." Amity said.
"It isn't." Luz said. "I've been analysing. Gus has projected a powerful illusion."
"I know." Amity said.
"But here's the thing, he's so deep into the game that he forgot one thing to make the illusion complete." Luz explained. "The shadow."
Luz pointed to a nearby illusion of Gus that wasn't casting a shadow and then one of Steve. Amity gasped. "We just gotta aim for the ones that aren't projecting a shadow."
"You catch on, Sweet Potato." Luz said.
Amity served the next serve which Gus hit back to Steve whom hit it to Luz. The human-Titan hybrid hit the ball over the net for Gus to hit.
But then, he hit it so high that Luz had to fly upwards in order to hit the ball into one of Gus' illusions, causing it to phase through and earning the couple a point.
"What?!" Gus exclaimed. "Oh, dumb luck I see?"
Steve made the next serve which Luz hit back through a Steve illusion.
"What?!" Steve exclaimed. "How?!"
"But the illusions are good." Gus said before making the next serve.
Luz with her Titan powers, hit the ball over the net, causing it to light up and burn through the illusion. And with a final serve, Amity managed to score her and Luz the point.
"Yes!" Luz and Amity shared a high five with each other.
The Gus and Steve illusions vanished into thin air while the real duo were evaluating why they lost. "Do you think we got cocky?" Steve asked.
"I don't know." Gus replied.
"Gus, I'm afraid that your's and Steve's illusions were just in your shadow." Amity said.
"What is she talking about?" Steve asked.
It didn't take for Gus to get what Amity was implying. "Oh…Right. I forgot to cast a shadow for our illusions." He narrowed his eyes at Amity whom had approached him to shake hands.
"Good game?" Amity offered her hand to shake for Gus.
But instead of taking it, Gus smacked Amity on her red belly, causing her to cringe. "Come on!"
Round 5: Amity and Luz vs Gus and Steve
Round 6: Edric and Emira vs Alador and Eda
Edric and Emira were busy stretching to warm up their joints. Eda as well, was stretching her spine upwards and her legs.
Emira looked at her brother. "Should we go easy on Dad?"
"Only because he'll go easy on us." Edric replied before making the first serve.
Alador summoned an Abomination hand and hit it back to his kids. The ball unfortunately, hit Edric in his tummy, causing him to heave in pain before falling on his knees.
"Edric!" Emira cried as she ran to her brother. "Edric!"
"Oh!" Edric groaned.
"Oh just walk it off." Alador said. "You'll be throwing up but you'll be fine."
"Oooooh!" Edric groaned. "That really hurt, Dad."
"King, can we forfeit?" Emira asked.
Hooty then slithered upwards. "Oh no! Tommy The Talking Tummy!" He continued to cry for Edric's tanning disaster.
Round 6: Edric and Emira vs Alador and Eda
Final Round: Amity and Luz vs Alador and Eda
The two daughter/parent duos were staring at each other from both sides of the net, ready to fight each other to win this match.
Luz cracked her neck while narrowing her eyes at Eda. "Ready to lose, Clawthorne?"
Eda cracked her neck as well. "I think I will beat your Titan powers."
Amity was busy stretching her back while Amity was on his hands, stretching his rear up towards the sky.
"Dad, try and be careful." Amity suggested.
"I'll do my best, Mittens." Alador assured his daughter. "I'll do my best to give you minor injuries."
Amity playfully narrowed her eyes at her father. "We'll see, Dad. We'll see."
They stared each other down for a few minutes before someone could make a first serve. Luz, twitching her eye, analysing every move her opponents could make; Eda, clenching her eyes in an effort to intimidate them; Alador, looking at his daughter with an intense stare; And Amity, wondering what her Dad's move will be.
And with a first serve, Luz tossed the ball up high and hit it over the net. Alador hit the ball to Eda who hit it over the net. Amity managed to use an Abomination gauntlet to hit it over the net.
Alador used his Abomination hand to hit the ball over the net, causing it to land on the sand, which lead to him and Eda getting their first point.
"Woo!" Eda cheered. "In your face!"
Amity made the second serve over the net to Alador. He used his Abomination hand to hit the ball over the net to Luz, who hit it with the palm of her hand towards Eda.
She hit the ball over the net to Amity, who used her Abomination gauntlet to smash the ball to the other side of the net. Scoring her and Luz a point.
"Yes!" Luz cheered.
Alador, now taking things a little bit seriously, took the next serve. HE served it so hard that he scored him and Eda another point.
"Oh my gosh!" Luz exclaimed.
"We weren't ready, Dad!" Amity exclaimed.
"Ha! Well you should be more prepared." Alador retorted.
"So, how will it feel to be beaten by a bunch of old people, ladies?" Eda asked.
Then, in spiteful anger, Luz made the next serve. But she used a bit of her Titan power too much as she left a flaming trail after the hit. And a point for her and Amity.
The opposing team, now seeing the competition that was about to take effect, narrowed their eyes at Luz and Amity.
"You wanna play rough?" Eda asked as her eyes glowed a sinister red.
"Oh yeah! I wanna play rough." Luz replied as her eyes glowed a bright orange.
"Likewise." Amity's eyes began to glow a bright purple.
"I can't wait." Alador said as his eyes glowed a dark purple.
The other patrons of the beach watched on with tense excitement and worry since they knew this match was going to be something special.
"Don't kill yourself, Luz." Camila pleaded silently.
"Willow, you thinking what I'm thinking?" Hunter asked before him and Willow were in asked in a protective vine that sprouted from the ground.
"I was." Willow replied.
Darius exhaled in annoyance. "I'll find the med kit, just in case."
And with a tied score, the most intense game of volleyball had commenced. Every glyph on Luz's body shined brighter than it did before, Amity's legs were covered in Abomination, Eda's fur had fluffed up while Alador had multiple hands shoot out of his body.
Luz made the first powerful serve which Eda hit back to Alador, whom hit it over the net, amity stopped the ball and passed it to her girlfriend who passed it back to her and then, Amity passed the ball over the net.
The ball missed the opponents, causing Luz and Amity to score a point. Eda and Luz snarled with aggressive competitiveness.
Alador made the next serve that Amity hit back over the net. Then, Eda hit the ball back over the net to Luz, who hit it back to Amity, whom managed to get the ball over the net.
Then, Alador used one of the many Abomination hands to hit the ball over the net, causing him and Eda to score a point.
Amity made the next serve with a ginormous Abomination hand that Alador managed to deflect back to her and she hit it back.
Eda used her fake hand to smash the ball over the net to Luz, who hit it back to Amity. She used her Abomination gauntlet to make a powerful hit over the net, scoring her and Luz another point.
The youngest Blight almost lost her balance due to the intense match that was taking place. Even Eda was so exhausted she didn't notice that her false hand was missing.
"Eda, your hand." Amity said.
"Thanks, Boots." Eda picked up her false hand and reattached it.
The exhausted Amity made the first serve to Eda, who hit the ball over the net to Luz. The human/titan hybrid hit the ball back to Alador, who hit the ball to the near exhausted Amity.
But due to her exhaustion, Amity missed and fell on her knees. "Amity?" Luz reacted in shock.
"Come on Mittens, are you dropping out already?!" Alador asked, not caring that his daughter was exhausted.
"I'm so tired." Amity said.
Luz placed a hand on her girlfriend's shoulder. "Mr Blight, I think she exhausted herself."
Amity's Abomination powers de powered. "I did. I can't feel my legs."
"Aww! Then that means you forfeit." Alador mocked her. "Honestly, are you chicken?" He made chicken noises to humiliate her.
Eda narrowed her eyes at Alador and walked to Luz and Amity. "You know Alador, I at first was excited about kicking young people's butts. But your daughter is exhausted. I would like to forfeit as well."
"Not until this match is over!" Alador said.
Eda was about to argue until Luz placed her hand on her shoulder. "I got him, Eda. I got him."
Eda was about to argue, but then saw how stubborn and determined she was to beat Alador. She gave her a nod before walked back to towels with Amity.
Luz, now getting angry, narrowed her eyes at Alador, ready to tear him a new one. She made the first serve to Alador who hit it back with one of his Abomination hands.
Luz hit the ball with a mighty hit of her Titan powers to Alador, who hit it back at Luz. She hit back, he hit it back, she hit it back and he hit it back.
Everyone watched on the sidelines with keen eyes despite the fact that this was getting too intense even for them.
Alador had spit dripping from his teeth as he aggressively hit the ball back to Luz. The latter's Titan powers were getting so intense for her that blue fire began to shoot from her mouth.
Alador then did something, that even Darius didn't anticipate. Abomination began to form around Alador's body. Soon, the Abomination scientist was transformed into an Abomination version of himself, similar to Darius.
While hitting the ball back and forth, a change happened to Luz as well. Some glyphs showed up around her furry legs, her furry arms, her orange eyes had glyph irises, her flesh had glyphs glowing around her and her belly button had transformed into a glyph.
Amity stared at the sight with a red blush. "Wow. Either I'm hallucinating due to exhaustion or Luz became hotter."
"No, she became hotter." Viney said.
And so, the most violent and aggressive game of volleyball continued. Luz and Alador continued to aggressively fire the ball back and forth with a ton of violent and hard hitting hits.
The volleyball itself was now lit ablaze with blue fire and covered in purple Abomination goop.
Alador hit the ball back to Luz with an all mighty hit. The human/Titan hybrid took a deep breath and with a powerful scream… "Now eat this sucka!" …Hit the ball back towards Alador, causing a blinding flash that engulfed mostly everyone.
Once the flash cleared, everyone had removed their arms or hands from their faces to see the aftermath. Willow removed the flower covering her and Hunter to see what had transpired.
On the volleyball pitch, they saw Luz, now back in human form, lying on the sand completely exhausted. While Alador looked baffled as he rested on his knees. "Where's the ball?"
Everyone began looking around the beach to try and find the ball. But so far, they couldn't. Camila and Lilith ran towards the unconscious Luz. While Stringbean reverted to snakeshifter form and nuzzled her owner's head.
"Luz!" Lilith exclaimed.
"Mija?" Camila sat her daughter.
Luz then coughed up what appeared to be some Titan's blood and held her head. "I don't feel so good. I feel I…"
"Easy, Mija." Camila said. "You're going to be okay."
Alador stood up and cracked his back. "Oh yeah! Who won that round?"
"That's your biggest concern right now?!" Camila asked. "Your daughter looks close to passing out."
"Oh, she'll be fine." Alador said. "The ball on the other hand…"
"I think I made it vanish." Luz replied.
"Huh?" Lilith reacted.
"I hit it so hard, it vanished into thin air." Luz replied.
"So, in a way, it means I won." Alador dclared. "King, I won!"
King raised a paw. "Actually…I…"
"Excellent argument." Alador interjected.
Final round: Amity and Luz vs Alador and Eda
Camila and Lilith began to help carry Luz straight towards her towel so she could rest. "Do you have any idea what could have happen to the ball, Luz?" Lilith asked.
"I have no idea. As far as I'm aware of, it's in another universe." Luz replied.
Meanwhile, in another universe. In The Demon Realm, on the seaside town of Caja Torácica, professional bounty hunters/wives, Luz Noceda and Amity Noceda were strolling the town buying some ice scream and goritoes.
This version of Luz was as tall as a marble statue due to some visible muscles. She had a ponytail and wore a visible wedding ring on her left hand. The outfit she wore was of a dark blue jacket, a pair of ripped jeans, a dark purple crop top and some shoes with shooting star stickers.
While this version of Amity was slightly shorter than Luz but still had a healthy body. Her hair was still cotton candy purple and cut in a Bob cut. She wore a pair of ripped leggings, a purple shirt that stretched down above her knees and a belt that went along her midriff.
"So, what is tonight movie, Batata?" Amity asked.
"Well, it's classic queer movie from the 1980's called Top Gun." Luz replied.
"But isn't that a testosterone driven action movie geared towards a male audience?" Amity asked.
"Well, I see a deeper story between Maverick and Iceman." Luz replied. "You can say they're almost similar to us."
"I hope I'll enjoy it, Esposa." Amity said.
"Tesoro, the sound design is absolutely incredible on the jet engines." Luz explained before the sound of a bang was heard.
The wives squinted their eyes straight ahead to see a white dot coming towards them. "Huh, what is that coming right toward-"
Suddenly, Luz was hit in the stomach by the white dot, causing her to fall on her back. "LUZ!" Amity screamed.
Amity ran towards her wife, whom was groaning from the surprise attack from the ball. "Ow." Luz groaned as she sat up. She then sniffed the air and realised that there was a scent of burning.
She looked at where the ball hit her, which was her top. Fire spreading across it. Luz panicked and removed her jacket before taking off her top, leaving her in her sports bra in the middle of town.
Luz looked at her destroyed top and grumbled in annoyance. "That was my favourite shirt." She realised that she was indecent and quickly put her jacket back on to spare herself some humiliation.
"Who hit my wife?!" Amity cried out in anger, forming an Abomination blade. "Come out you cowards! ¿Estás bien, tesoro?"
Luz picked up the ball and raised a brow in surprise. "A volleyball?"
Amity looked confused. "A volleyball? Who would attack you with a volleyball?"
Luz looked between her wife and the volleyball trying to come up with a logical explanation. Then she thought back to the discussion she was having a few moments back. "Passionate Top Gun fans?"
The universe this is set in is from a story on AO3 called The Owl House Tesoro by Garth2the2ndpower. Read it if you haven't had the chance. And no, this isn't a cross promotion between me and them. I just thought it would have been a funny idea to have these two in this story.
