After some time, however, they realize that Shang Tsung was not the last threat to the realms and some champions are caught up in their past...

After defeating Shao Kahn, Kurai and his allies live their lives in relative peace. But dark forces with their own hidden agendas have different plans. Kuai Liang is my favourite Mortal Kombat character, so I decided to retell his story with a few of my own touches, taking inspiration from both timelines, semi/non cannon material and my own headcannons/adjustments.
