"I just don't understand," Seth said. "It's like you haven't been yourself recently."
He looked at Annamma with her long, wavy, chocolate brown hair hanging down her back. She didn't turn around to look at him like she used to do if they had a disagreement.
"Will you please look at me?" He asked.
She didn't move a muscle. He walked over to her and sat down next to her. Her pale blue eyes were staring straight ahead as if she was ignoring him.
"Listen, Annamma, I just want to figure out if I did something wrong. I love you. I've never loved anyone the way I love you and I never will. You're the one for me. If I did something wrong, I need to know so I can fix it. Please, sweetheart, talk to me," he said.
Roman looked at Dean who seemed miles away. Roman waved his hand in front of Dean's face, and Dean looked at Roman and sighed.
"What's on your mind?" Roman asked.
"Seth," Dean answered. "Have you noticed something off about him lately?"
"Thank fuck you're seeing it too," Roman said.
"Right?" Dean sat up more straight. "There's something wrong and I'm worried about him, Roman. I think he might need help."
"I can't imagine going through what he's going through. I was with him for a full week after it happened. He just cried and hardly ate and then he went cold. I thought he accepted it but now I think he might be in denial. He doesn't want me to come around the house anymore," Roman said.
"He's told me to stay away too but we're not gonna accept that," Dean stood up. "Let's go pay him a visit."
"Annamma, please!" Seth begged.
"I'm sorry," Annamma said.
He blew out his breath in relief and grabbed her hand. She was talking. That was good.
"Tell me what I've done wrong," he said.
"You haven't done anything wrong, darling," she said.
"Then what's troubling you?" He asked
"I feel cold and alone when you are on the road," she said.
"I'll take some time off," he said.
He brought her hand to his lips and kissed it.
"Would you like that?" He asked.
"That sounds lovely," she smiled at him. "I'm sorry, Seth. I didn't mean to upset you. I love you."
"I love you too," he said.
Roman parked the car outside of Seth's house, and both he and Dean jumped out of it. They walked up to front door and knocked on it. They waited 30 seconds and knocked again.
"He's home. His car is here and the light is on," Roman said.
"Fuck it," Dean said.
Dean reached forward and placed his hand on the door handle.
"Dean?" Roman asked nervously.
"Our boy needs help," Dean looked at Roman. "I'm going in there with or without you. Are you with me, Roman?"
Roman blew out his breath and nodded.
"I'm with you," Roman said.
"Whoever it is, they'll go away again," Seth said. "It's all about us tonight."
He heard the front door open and stood up. No one had the right to enter his house.
"Shit! I forgot to lock," he said.
"Make them go away," she said.
"Stay here," he said.
Seth walked out of the living room and closed the door ajar behind him. Roman and Dean came walking from the other end towards him.
"What the fuck smells so bad?" Dean asked.
"What are you guys doing here?" Seth asked.
Dean covered his face with the sleeve of his hoodie and Roman tried his hardest to stand the horrible stench.
"We came to check up on you. Clearly you haven't showered or cleaned in weeks or even opened the windows to air out," Roman said.
"You're not welcome here," Seth said.
"Seriously, what smells so fucking bad?" Dean asked.
"I don't smell anything," Seth said. "You've seen me. You can leave again."
"Dean?" Roman looked at Dean.
"I'm not fucking leaving. Something is going on in that living room to make it stink this way and I'm checking it out," Dean said.
Dean walked towards Seth who tried to block Dean's way.
"Go away!" Seth snarled.
"Get out of my fucking way!" Dean growled.
Seth tried to push Dean back and Roman watched his two friends go back and forward for a few seconds until Dean managed to get his foot behind Seth's legs to trip him. Seth fell to the floor and Dean ran towards the living room. He pushed the door open and froze in his tracks.
"What the fuck?" Dean shouted. "What the fuck did you do, Seth?"
"Dean, no," Seth tried.
Roman ran past Seth and stopped next to Dean. He was staring at the same thing that had Dean frozen to the ground. Annamma sitting by the dining table.
"What the fuck?" Roman whispered.
"You need to leave. She's tired and needs some rest," Seth said.
Both Roman and Dean turned their heads and stared in horror at Seth.
"What did you do?" Dean asked.
"What do you mean?" Seth asked.
"She's dead, Seth," Dean said.
Seth looked from man to man and then let out a laughter.
"What are you talking about? She's fine. We were just talking about me taking some time off to find our way back to each other," Seth raised his voice. "Tell them, Annamma."
"You dug up her fucking corpse!" Dean yelled. "She died over a month ago! She took her own life, for fuck sake! You arranged her fucking funeral!"
Seth shook his head from side to side.
"You're lying!" Seth screamed.
"Seth, she's dead," Roman spoke calmly. "Don't you remember I spent a week with you while you were mourning?"
"No, you were visiting because... because..." Seth said.
Seth couldn't find any excuse as to why Roman had been there a week.
"Because she died," Roman said. "You came home from the road and found her. It was a mess. It fucked you up mentally but I never thought it was this bad."
"He's been living with a corpse for a month," Dean said. "What do we do?"
"We call whoever we need to call to get this fixed. Police, therapists, Hunter. Seth needs help. Real help in a place with doctors and medication," Roman said.
"You're gonna lock me up?" Seth asked.
Roman walked over to Seth and sat down on the floor next to him.
"I'll visit everyday," Roman said. "You need help, Seth. You understand that, right? You understand that you have a corpse in your living room, right?"
"But she speaks to me," Seth said.
"Only in your head," Roman said.
Roman waved Dean over and they both helped Seth get up on his feet. They walked outside and Roman pointed at a bench. Seth sat down, pulled his legs up, and hugged his knees. He stared straight ahead as if he was already lost in another world.
"Sit with him," Roman told Dean. "I'll make all the phone calls that need to be made."
"And then what?" Dean asked.
"I don't know," Roman answered. "All I know is that this is way above anything we can fix on our own. He needs help and I'm getting it for him. I don't care where or how much it will cost me. I'll make damn sure he gets all the help he needs. He dug up her body, for fuck sake. Seth dug up Annamma's body. This is fucking insane."
Dean looked backed at Seth and nodded at Roman.
"That's not our Seth sitting there. That's a shadow of the man we know and love," Dean said.
"I know," Roman said. "So go sit with him and hug him real tight so he knows he's loved and that help is on its way. We're not giving up on him."
