Chapter 1: The Nightmare Begins

The Sea of Quanta, a realm beyond the physical laws of reality which holds countless universes within its cosmic depths, a realm which contains universes fated to die.

It is a realm that if properly traversed can open to countless channels and pathways leading to various bubble universes.

Within the Sea of Quanta, a lone ship sailing its currents of near infinite energy, a ship known as the Hyperion.

The crew within was a motley one, but also a rather tight knit group of individuals with unique quirks.

These individuals were Kanchou, the captain of Hyperion, Rita Rossweisse, the Fallen Rosemary, Zhuge Kongming, a star gazer, princess and seeress, Yae Kasumi a Kunoichi, Delta, self proclaimed arch nemesis of Kanchou, Bronie, a hacker and ships engineer, Kallen the Sanguine Knight, Sirin, a magical girl.

Finally there was Luna, also known as Lunar Vow.

A beautiful vampire who was rescued by Kanchou from exiling herself from existence, who loved her human with all her heart.

Luna was walking the halls of the ship as she made her way to the elevator leading to the bridge above, there Kanchou was sitting at the Captain's seat overlooking some documents.

"Human~." Luna spoke.

Looking up from hearing the voice, Kanchou smiled as he saw Luna standing next to him.

"Hello Luna, what can I do for you?"

"It's been some time since we left the ranch world and chased the Vodka Twins to get Delta's ship back, I've been wondering what our next bubble universe adventure will be."

Kanchou contemplated Luna's words for a moment, he wasn't quite sure what lay ahead but he knew it was gonna be business as usual, fix whatever problems were apparent.

Before further discussion was made they were interrupted by an out of breath Sirin, the magical girl looking winded as if she ran from the other end of the ship, likely forgetting she could fly with her magic.

Following behind her were the other members of the crew, each one with a worried look on their faces.

"Sirin? Everyone, what's going on?" Kanchou asked with concern.

Sirin, after catching her breath, spoke with urgency in her voice.

"I was in the midst of practicing my magic when I felt the biggest spike of mana I ever felt in my life!"

Surprised by this Kanchou glanced at Rita, a bit of a magic user in her own right the Fallen Rosemary's eyes told him that Sirin was not kidding.

"Bronie, Delta, can you get a read on the environment and see what might be causing this?"

"Hm, if the situation wasn't apparently urgent I would not go out of my way to follow orders of my enemy." Delta scoffed.

"Less talk, more scanning." Piped the ever catty Bronie.

As the two checked the holographic system to get a layout of their environmental surroundings they and everyone else were in for a fright.

Coming their way like a tsunami was a great shockwave of energy, origin unknown, and it was about to hit the Hyperion within moments.

"EVERYONE BRACE FOR IMPACT!" Kanchou shouted.

Without hesitation all the women immediately ducked and braced for the coming shock.

CRASH!!!

The force of the impact was so immense it actually damaged the Hyperion at its hull and engine as it began to lose control.

A hole in the bridge was wide open as a vacuum was threatening to suck all occupants out into the dangerous Sea of Quanta, the crew of Hyperion hanging on for dear life.

"Kongming!!" Kallen shouted as the seeress lost her grip and was sent hurtling towards the gaping hole in the bridge.

Before she could be hurled out she was caught by the hand of Luna, who was held by Kanchou, everyone had formed a chain to help get Kongming back to safety.

"I'm gonna pull you towards Kanchou! You better grab his hand!" Luna shouted.

Doing as she's told with the help of Luna pulling her close, she grabbed Kanchou's hand and repeated by taking the hand of the others.

CRASH!!!

"ANOTHER ONE!?" Shouted Rita as she almost lost her grip on Kasumi, however Luna wasn't so lucky.

"LUNAAAAAAAAAA!!"

"HUMAAAAAAAAAAN!!"

Having lost her grip on Kanchou Luna was sent flying out of the ship, now afloat in the endless sea, she watched as the Hyperion continued to descend further down as a portal opened up below signaling entry into a bubble universe, but she would be left behind.

"NOOOOOOOOOOO-!!!"

As she shouted in sorrow and anguish a light enveloped her, as the chaos of earlier went quiet.

"Well this is quite fascinating…"

A voice echoed in her head, unrecognizable, surely she's dead no?

"You lost quite a bit of blood from your crash, it's strange, you look human enough, yet the fangs in your mouth say otherwise."

'Wh-What's going on?'

"Even then, I couldn't allow such a beautiful thing such as yourself to die now, so I went out of my way to help you…

…Paleblood."

'Paleblood?'

"It's incredible though, as I helped with getting some blood back in you, your body started to heal on its own at an astonishing rate, at first i thought it was the blood at work but no, it's almost like magic."

As Luna's eyes began to slowly open, her vision blurred, she could just make out the sight of a decrepit old man.

"Hm, looks like you're gonna come too sooner, well strange outsider from beyond, welcome to Yharnam, home of blood ministrations, surely once you wake you may have questions, unfortunately I might not be able to answer them, you might be able to find out though if you choose to unravel the mysteries yourself."

'What…did you do to me?'

As the man spoke Luna found herself slipping in and out of consciousness, whatever had happened left her weak and vulnerable.

"I might say I'm curious about the strange shards embedded inside you. I was contemplating on taking them out and examining them, but thought better of it."

'Is he referring…to the pieces of the Ether Anchor I embedded in myself?'

"Well, still as an outsider if you're gonna need something to help in this place, a little Yharnam blood of your own."

'Stay…BACK!!'

At that moment Luna passed out completely.

XXX

Once her eyes opened, the old man was no more, she looked to her left from the surgical table and to her horror a creature of nightmare rose from the floorboards, it was bloody, decaying, wolf-like, it was slowly approaching her and she couldn't move an inch.

'IM GONNA DIE!! HUMAN!!'

Shutting her eyes again the creature was gone, looking forward she saw a strange hand appear to her side, small, almost skeletal, alien-like creatures rose and surrounded her, too close for her own comfort till they envelop her vision, yet she couldn't scream.

Another moment passed and Luna shot up with a gasp, alive but coughing up a fit.

"Where am I?"

Looking at her surroundings the room she was in was dark, damp and messy, surgical tools and books littering the place, and the pungent smell of old and fresh blood permeating her nostrils that made even a vampire like her reel.

She got up and found herself looking in an old dirty mirror, she could just see her reflection and everything looked normal so far.

"Hello!?" She called out. "Is anyone there!?"

Not a sound.

Dread began to fill her, yet she knew she couldn't stay and let it take over, the only path left was forward.

Opening a door and descending some stairs she entered a large room filled with what she can only describe was hospital-like equipment.

Yet that was not prevalent in her thoughts, no there was a nearby noise that had her attention, the sound of meat being picked at and low growling.

Slowly moving forward she saw a familiar wolf beast nearby, feasting, not noticing her in the slightest.

'Looks like I'm gonna have to get past this thing.' She contemplated.

She attempted to draw her massive twin chain claymore but the weapon couldn't appear to her lament. Looks like sneaking by is the next best thing.

Luna attempted to stealthily sneak by the creature hoping not to draw its attention but it was not to be, the werewolf immediately creaked into her direction and snarled before pouncing.

"SHIT!" Luna cursed as she ducked out of the way.

The lycan wasn't gonna let up though.

"Looks like it's barehanded." Luna said. She could fight without her weapon but to her it was too messy, but she didn't have a choice.

The bloody lycan charged and attempted to swipe at her, but Luna sidestepped and elbowed the creature sending it flying into the wall nearby, it was staggered but it wasn't dead.

As soon as it recovered Luna was already on it as she pounced onto its back with a sharp blade she procured and stabbed repeatedly into the lycan, center of its spine and right into its neck.

She then hopped off the beast and finished it with a massive ax kick to the head splitting its skull.

Taking a deep breath Luna soon noticed something.

She was stained with blood.

As a vampire normally this wouldn't be a bother, but after using an Ether Anchor shard to make it to where she didn't need blood anymore, and so was sickened.

"I need to get out of here."

She opened the door nearby and found herself outside to a jaw dropping sight, a city, a massive one filled with gothic architecture that rose into what could only be described as endless dusk, the streets were empty and barren of life, yet strewn with dead trees and caskets.

So many caskets, each one chained up, as if to keep something from coming out.

"I must've been hurtled into a bubble universe away from the others…"

As Luna said this, tears stained her face, she was cut off from her friends, she was cut off from her loved ones, she was cut off from her human.

Wiping her face she steeled herself and began to traverse the derelict streets after opening the gates from the courtyard of this strange place, not a single sign of life, yet she could feel something, something utterly wrong with the place, the feeling of multiple yet unseen presences.

As she made her way through she passed a damaged carriage with a decaying horse, the image made her want to puke, but she kept it back and continued on.

As she approached a nearby road she actually spotted someone, a person!

"Hello!? Can you help me!?" Luna called out.

The person didn't respond with words, instead they turned towards her with some kind of makeshift weapon in hand, sounding almost undead like.

"No, no you're not human!"

To her horror more undead sprang up having been woken by the noise. Each of them faced Luna's direction and charged at her with the intention of picking her apart.

Luna managed to stop the first one and disarm them of a blade which she used to decapitate it with, after that she quickly dispatched of the others.

Having finished up she left the area immediately and found a nearby ladder. A brief climb up and she found another walkway path, and before she could proceed forward she heard a screech in the direction of a distant bridge.

"Whatever that is, I hope I don't have to deal with it."

Proceeding on she approached a nearby lantern, needless to say she was startled when little skeletal creatures rose up around it, while it unnerved her she was also curious and reached for the lantern itself.

Upon touching it she found herself in a completely different place, a courtyard that also was some kind of cemetery, the paths of which led to some kind of shack up on the hill. Looking behind her she saw vast pillars in the distance.

With more questions she followed the path, and found herself nearly startled by a lifelike doll of a woman just sitting upright atop the stone, and next to it was…

"My Chain Claymore!"

Grabbing her weapon she felt more secure with it back in her possession.

"Now then, let's see what's up with this place."

Approaching the shack she saw the door was open, and inside was a workshop of sorts for weapons, and it wasn't unoccupied.

"Greetings, I am Gherman, I welcome you, stranger to the Hunter's Dream."

And that does it for the introductory chapter! From here on is where Luna's bloodborne experience truly begins
