Unfortunate Prisoner

WARNING: This Fanfic features some spoilers for the indie game Freedom Planet. Specifically closer to the end. If you don't want anything spoiled, please leave now.

Otherwise, enjoy.

"Wake him up." A cold voice commanded.

One of the minions that served under the voice took some water and splashed the captive with it.

"You know, you could have done a better method than what looks like I went in my pants." The captive said, he was in a machine, strapped like Lilac was in the main events of Freedom Planet. He was a young fox named Lightning. He was captured trying to help Lilac and her friends. His hands sticking out of the straps, he made fists.

The figure in front of him was none other than Arktivus Brevon. A warlord that will do anything for his planet. Lightning was not the first to be captured, and chances were, he wasn't gonna be the last.

"So, you are friends with the savages, are you? Well, that's interesting. They are becoming a problem to my plans. Perhaps they will come to your rescue?" He gave an awful grin and slowly walked around the machine.

"Don't count on it. I wanted them safe so I left on purpose. You got no gamble, Brevon." The fox said with a smirk.

"Oh, but you see, you fell for the trap I had laid out for the dragon. Actually, how good friends are you two?" Brevon pressed a button and a window slid open, revealing Torque captured as well.

"Lightning?" Torque asked confused, after all the talk he heard about Lilac, he had kind of assumed she had been caught, he was relieved and shocked to find the fox here instead.

"The girls had an argument over this, I wasn't gonna let them get hurt! They're my friends!" Lightning retaliated. His words fell on deaf ears, Brevon turned and flipped a couple switches.

"Friends? Bah. Useless. But... you get such a fire when they are mentioned... could it be you like one?" Brevon's question basically got its answer before a word was said. Lightning couldn't help but blush.

"Oh, don't worry... I'll make sure they see you, after you're dead. With your corpse, they'll see how foolish it is to try and resist me. Now, commander, I want answers. If you care about your friend here, you'll talk." Brevon said, arms crossed and smiling.

"Torque, no, no. Don't tell him anything, do you understand me? He's just a bug!" Lightning began buckling as he said the sentence, but he stopped when he felt a blade against his throat.

"Are you sure that's your final answer? Well, commander?" Brevon only turned his head to see Torque out of the corner of his eye. After a few moments, Brevon only chuckled. "I warned you..." he sliced Lightning with his knife, a large cut on his chest and through the middle of his shirt.

"Ahhh! Why is it burning?!" Lightning gritted his teeth and growled slightly. He was no fan of pain, it made him angrier and stronger. But in this case, it wouldn't help him. When he looked up, he gasped and froze.

Brevon had a gun, it looked like a laser rifle of some kind. He hinted at a screen behind him.

"I know electricity is not something that hurts you, you create it from your body. Such a shame. Because the alternative? You'll beg for death. Unless the commander talks." Brevon once again looked at Torque, who looked at Lightning, who once again shook his head.

"No. Not one word. I can handle this. Don't t- AAAAAAAARGH!!" The rifle fired a strange beam, it seemed to really hurt Lightning somewhere inside, he took a moment and coughed a tiny bit of blood.

"This weapon will make your nerves feel like they're being torn apart, molecule by molecule. And it doesn't need any specific target. Just a living being." Brevon laughed and walked over to Torque, who was watching Lightning struggle a little. "Would you have broken already if it was one of those girls? Those... Savages? Now we can see where priorities lie. This is your final chance. Either talk, or, I can close the window and you can sit there, imagining what I'll do to him."

"Lightning, I'm sorry, I have t-" Torque tried explaining, but Lightning yelled at him.

"No... NO. Even if he cut my head off, don't tell him a thing!" Lightning was shaking a tiny bit, tears down his cheeks.

"I won't do that. I don't feel like cleaning the mess. No... I'm going to use this rifle. The best part is you can't die from it, but you'll absolutely feel the pain." The warlord walked over and chuckled. "There's something about you... I bet I could hack at your limbs all day and you'd still find a way to fight back."

Lightning looked into Brevon's eyes and found himself unable to move.

An hour passed. Possibly the worst hour of Lightning's life.

Torque was forced to watch as his friend was sliced and shot at. Lightning was bleeding from a few spots and his insides hurt so bad, he couldn't stop the tears.

"Well, commander? Do I have to finish him off? Or...?" The warlord looked satisfied, his nasty smile was present.

"You monster! He can't be anymore than 16! What makes you think this is-" he was quieted by a blade at his throat next. Torque only glared.

"I don't care about anything about him. You should've talked. And now? It might be too late, it looks like he isn't going to make it." Brevon looked at Lightning and began to laugh.

Lightning's vision and hearing felt far away, he felt a single vibration and blacked out.

His breathing stopped.

He did his best to fight it, but this was it.

To be concluded.

Editors Note: Been too long, huh? Sorry, guys! I've decided I'm in the good time of my life, and Wanna do drawings and fanfics before stuff gets permanently serious one day. I decided to do a short Freedom Planet story. Just a couple chapters. I'll do more Freedom Planet, Sonic and My Little Pony. Some of my stories are self-inserts or original stories set in the world they're based on. Thanks for reading! I'm trying to work on my grammar too, please comment if you find a mistake, and please don't random hate. Or for self-insert OCs. As the author, if I feel like writing it, I'm going to.

Thanks!
