CHAPTER 1

THE AKUMATIZATION

Ladybug's pov before it happened…

Cat Noir and I are heroes for a while now. I consider him as my best friend. We save everyone every day and we are the best. When I showed up for the battle, Cat Noir was acting weird. He was hiding something behind his back. I tried to see, but he didn't let me and said:

''I need you to promise something before you see. Please don't treat me differently after I tell you what I have to…''

''I can't make any promises.''

He got nervous. He still showed me. Cat Noir had a red rose behind his back. When I saw it I was stunned. Why did he give me a rose?!
''We've known each other for a while now. I had strong feelings for you since the first time I saw you… I like you, Ladybug…''

My mouth dropped. I didn't know what to say. It was like all the words I learned since I was born just disappeared from my mind. My partner and best friend sees me as more than that?! How should I tell him…?

''I-I don't see you as more than my partner and best friend…''

He looked at me and I instantly recognised the look on his face. It was the look I gave Adrien when he said he doesn't like me… I know how it feels to deal with a broken heart.

''We will still be partners and I won't treat you any differently! Trust me, I know what you feel right now.''

He snapped and said:
''How?! You are the perfect girl! How can a boy not like you!?''

''I am not that perfect without the mask, I just seem perfect to you. The boy I like seems perfect to me too.''

When I said that I instantly regretted it. Why did I say it?! Why don't I think before talking? He probably doesn't want to hear about the boy I like. Especially when he has just told me he likes me!

''What does that boy have that I don't?!'' yelled Cat Noir.

I didn't know what to say anymore, so I walked away. I actually don't know what Adrien has that Cat Noir doesn't. Real love is when you don't know why you love that person. I hope Cat Noir isn't going to be upset. What am I even thinking?! Of course he will be! I got home and I couldn't stop thinking about what had just happened. I am scared. I don't know why. I didn't even think he would get akumatized.

Cat Noir's pov

She left me there without any hesitation. I don't know what I feel… What if she lied about not treating me differently in the future just to make me feel better? I feel so mad, but I have to understand she has her own feelings too. I squeezed the flower tightly and it made my hand bleed a little. It was a rose after all. I saw a black butterfly come towards me. I ignored it, thinking it will go away soon, but it made its way to the rose. I heard Hawk Moth talk to me.

''If you give me your miraculous and Ladybug's I will give you the power to destroy everyone and everything so you can built a new world with Ladybug. You will be the only boy she will look at.''

I tried to resist, because I knew he was using me, but the idea of me and Ladybug being a couple made me accept the offer. I had a white costume on me. It was white and really shiny in the light of the afternoon sun. I will finally be with Ladybug! This is my dream for over a year now. I have to wait for the people to film me so she sees the news and comes. I will save her and destroy everything else. Cat Noir couldn't think straight in that very moment.

Ladybug's pov

I was sitting in bed with Tikki when I saw the news about a new akumatized person. I didn't see who it was, but I had to go help Cat Noir. I let my ice cream on the bed and transformed as quickly as a flash. I went out on the window. At first I didn't see anything, but people were screaming and yelling at their loved ones to hide. I was confused. Someone saw me and said:
''LADYBUG! THERE!''

I looked closer and saw someone dressed in white who was destroying some buildings. Where is Cat Noir?! I tried to call him, but no answer. 'Purr what you have to say in a message!' I forgot the silly pun he had. Haha. When I called the second time I instantly saw the villain answer a call too.

''Hello, my lady! I knew you were going to call.''

''Come quickly! There is a villain in town!"

''What villain-''

''What do you mean what villain?!"

''It's just me.''

I remained silent. I saw Cat Noir's face as soon as I looked at the villain again. I got anxious. And started shaking. I can't do this alone! What have I done?! He will destroy everything! He grabbed me by my waist and we went somewhere. I couldn't escape him. What does he want to do?!

''The world will be all ours now. We will be the only ones left on earth and we will be king and queen.''

''Are you insane?! What about or parents, friends!? The people who are innocent, the new born children, the folks who would do anything for their kids, and the elderly people who want to die in peace?! Did you even think about them?!''

''Blah blah blah! Only we matter!''

''When did you become so selfish…?'' I asked in fear.

He didn't answer and he wanted to use his super power gave by Hawk Moth to destroy everything, but I stopped him.

''What if we get destroyed too?! Deny this awful power, please!" I begged him.

He didn't listen to me and I had to push him. He fell on the ground because he wasn't expecting it. I had to.

''You have to give me your miraculous, now!''

''Over my dead body.''

I backed down, thinking about a plan. I am more scared than ever. I have to make him realise he's wrong! But how…?
