Hey peeps! I have been back on this kick of being low-key obsessed with the 1956 film, The Family Trapp. I believe that this film is underrated and that there should be more fics based on it (I haven't seen or read very many). This stems from a brief conversation with bloomandgrow about how some scenes are especially underrated and how it would be cool to sort of expand and/or look deeper into some of them. So, here we are. This is based on the scene in The Family Trapp where Georg hints at being kind of jealous of the newest Von Trapp. Also, the 'hideaway' from My Maria is in this story.

Disclaimer: I own nothing of the 1956 and 1965 films. All rights go to their respective owners. The only things I own are any OCs, the plot for this fanfic, and a knack for creative writing. Also, an undying love for Sound of Music.

bloomandgrow, thank you for being a kind person whenever we exchange messages. You're a great friend and I hope that you enjoy this! xx

It's funny really, the things that can make a man even the slightest bit jealous. For Georg von Trapp, that jealousy stems from the recent arrival of his first child with Maria.

A year and a half previous, he was a widowed man with seven michievious children and would often spend time in Vienna, away from the things that reminded him of his first wife who had died from Scarlett Fever. He hated to be reminded that the one person he loved more than anything in the world, aside from his children, was gone in what seemed to be the blink of an eye. Deep down, he loved all seven children, but couldn't stand being around them for too long of a time. They reminded him of what he considered the failure of protecting his wife from a vile illness.

Fast forward to five years after his wife's death, Georg hires governess number twelve. Maria Rainer is a gangly young woman trying to find her purpose in life; contemplating the decision of whether or not to take her vows and become a nun. Neither Georg nor Maria could have guessed what the future held for them and the children.

Since the birth of Rosemarie several months ago, Maria noticed that Georg seemed a little 'off kilter' and not really himself. It saddened her, and she decided to have a long overdue conversation with her husband.

After putting Rosie to bed, she quietly walked down to Georg's study. When she knocked lightly, she had gotten no answer.

That must mean he's in our little hideout, she thought to herself. I hope whatever is bothering him isn't something I have done, was her second thought. She hated that she felt uncertain about this; what was most likely a misunderstanding or something of that sort.

Quietly, Maria pressed down lightly on the trigger that would open their special place. "Georg, darling, are you in here?"

Coming from the bathroom, wiping his hands on a dish towel, Georg replied curtly. "Yes. Was there something you wanted, Maria?"

"To talk. That's all," she shrugged. She was shocked at his tone. It made her feel as if she was a child who got caught with her hand in the cookie jar before dinner.

"About?"

"Us. Georg, have I done something to upset you? If I have, I am terribly sorry. I-"

"Gods, Maria," Georg paused as he sat in is favorite chair. "Come here," he gently commanded his wife.

Georg pulled Maria into his lap and they sat in contemplative silence for a couple of minutes. The couple were trying to figure out how start the conversation.

I suppose that I shall start, Maria sighed.

"Since Rosie was born, you seem to be a little more like the Captain towards me instead of how you were before our youngest was born. Why?"

Georg sighed. He really felt embarrassed by how he's acted and was chiding himself rather harshly in his mind. I'm such a damn fool. My beautiful wife... she seems upset and I am the cause.

"Oh, my love. I promise with all that I have, that I am not upset. I loathe to admit this and I am embarrassed by it as well, but I was a bit jealous of our Meine kleine Rose*."

Maria snorted a little. She assumed that it might be a case of jealousy, but wasn't sure. Thankfully, her husband's admission to it had satisfied her question of what was wrong. However, it did not give a reason as to why he was jealous.

"It is absolutely ridiculous, but I miss the time alone with you. The intimacy we shared when we're joined in ecstacy. I just miss us, I guess."

"My darling husband, surely you know I miss it terribly as well?"

"I do, I truly do. I just wish that we could spend more time alone."

Maria smirked to herself. She had a plan that would hopefully bring them the closeness they desired. The question is, will he agree?

"I can hear thinking, love. What's going on in that lovely head of yours?"

"I propose that we take a long weekend and go somewhere, just the two of us. What are your thoughts?"

"I'd love that, Maria. The question is where to and what about Meine kleine Rose?"

"Well," Maria replied, "Frau Schmidt and Liesl could watch over Rosie. As for our getaway, I had Vienna in mind. Recreating our wedding night at Hotel Bristol sounds lovely."

"Sounds divine. We, Meine liebe Frau, will leave tomorrow night. What do you think?"

Maria agreed with a breathy "Yes."

With that being said, she kissed Georg passionately. Never again will he feel unwarranted jealousy. I swear to it that we will have more alone time. Just the two of us.

So, how did you like this one shot? I am pretty proud of it, if I am being honest. As always, your feedback is always appreciated. Much Love ]
