A FAMILIAR YET STRANGE WORLD
For those who don't know, this story is a crossover event between another story called 'King of Grimm'. It was made by Devlin Dracul, go and show him some love. Anyway, we talked and he gave me permission to combine my AU with his own...so that's how this story came about.
Vale...one of the four Great Kingdoms of Remnant. Like the other three kingdoms Vale is home to many huntsmen. These are strong and respected individuals who endure hardships in order to protect their world. This is what all up and coming huntsmen strive to be. It is what they are meant to be.
Even far beyond the reaches of their own realm
Walking down the streets of Vale at night, were a mother and son. The little boy around ten years of age is known as Argent Arc, the son of Jaune Arc and Ruby Schnee-Rose. The woman is Nimueh Arc...A.K.A the Spirit of Destruction.
They were both coming back from a full day of Grocery Shopping, getting the necessary items to prepare tonight's dinner.
"Man...I wish dad were here...then we could just give him all this stuff." Argent complained holding five grocery bags in one hand.
"Trust me honey...I know." Nimueh agreed, very much missing her husband.
"What's he even doing again?" Arie asked.
"My dear sister Glynda had a meeting with the council and she appointed your father as the headmaster of Beacon until she came back." Nim explained.
"Hey...when do you think I'll be able to do magic like dad?" Arie asked.
"Hard to say...for as long as Jaune and I have been together...he never was able to use magic until he became the King of Grimm." Nimueh said.
"So...if I get Grimm powers then I'll be able to use magic too!" Argent exclaimed with stars in his eyes.
"Uh Uh, nope...we are not letting you get those powers." Nimueh said sternly, "They're more of a curse than a blessing."
Argent frowned, but he understood what Nimueh was talking about. Besides...imagining himself looking like Salem, gave him shivers.
As the mother and son walked home, else where in an alley in Vale, a blue portal opened up and spat out two boys.
One did a barrel roll and managed to catch himself...while the other one fell flat on his face. Either way, both boys looked to have been roughed up.
The one who landed safely had long silver hair, reaching behind his back. He also had a pair of bull horns curving backwards and had a pair of blue eyes. He also had an 'x' shaped scar on the right side of his cheek and a short vertical scar on his left eyebrow. The boy looked to be around 19 years of age.
He was also wearing a long black coat which had a rose embroidery on the back. The coat was covering up a blue sleeveless jacket, he also wore a blue belt which had the Schnee Family Symbol as a silver buckle and wore a pair of long dark blue pants.
Sheathed to his waist was a katana, strapped on his left arm was a rotating crossbow and holstered around his belt were throwing knives.
The one who landed in his face slowly got up with a groan, dusting himself off. He had a full head of short messy blonde hair, a pair of shining silver eyes and had a short diagonal scar right between his eyes, just above his nose, he also had a scar on the right side of his mouth. The blonde looked too be around 18 years of age
The blonde boy was wearing a red jacket, which covered up a black t-shirt, that had the Arc family symbol right in the center. The young man also wore black fingerless gloves and a yellow bracelet on his left hand, as well a pair of black long baggy pants.
Strapped to his back was a claymore sword, on the hilt had a small silver badge showing the Rose family symbol. Also hooked onto his back was a black bo staff. Holstered to his waist were a pair of golden pistols and strapped to his legs were some Mistralian throwing stars.
The blonde one who had finished dusting off looked around to see that he and his companion were both in some random alley.
"What the hell was that? Some kind of teleportation semblance?" The silver eyed boy asked.
The Faunus took a quick survey of their surroundings as well before answering, "Maybe, but we could never know. Stay on guard." He said.
The blonde stepped out of the alley, onto the Vale sidewalk, "Wait Vale?! We're still home!" The young man exclaimed, "Come on Dusk! We gotta get back to Beacon and tell Grandma what we saw!" The blonde said to the Faunus, now know as Dusk before turning around and about to make a run for it...before Dusk grabbed the back of his jacket.
Hang on just a second Midas." Dusk, causing the blonde now known as Midas to look at him strangely, "Something's off...my gut is telling me that we shouldn't cause a scene, nor should we head to Beacon."
"Why'd you say that?" Midas questioned.
"Call it a hunch." Dusk responded as they both walked out into the streets, trying to blend in with everyone else.
"Hey...Dusk?"
"Yeah."
"That feeling you got about something being off...I'm starting to get that too." Midas admitted with a frown.
"Then I know something's up." Dusk said.
"So if we can't go to Beacon, how about we go to my place?" Midas suggested.
"That sounds like a plan...plus it'll let me see of me theory is correct."
"Theory?"
"Let's just go."

The two boys had taken a bullhead to the island of Patch and after walking for a bit, they reached a certain area...an area Midas knew all too well.
"What the heck?!" Midas shouted with a dropped jaw as he looked at the clearing where his house was supposed to be...but currently wasn't.
"It looks empty." Dusk said with a stoic expression.
"This...This...doesn't make any sense! My house was right here! On Patch!" Midas exclaimed, grabbing his head with his hands. "Something weird is going on!"
Dusk he was busy in deep thought had an idea, "Come on we're going back to Vale."
"Huh? What for?!" Midas asked, still not getting over what had happened to his home.
"I need to check something out to prove my suspicions." Dusk said
Midas let out a groan as they both went back to the bullhead, to get back to Vale.
While on the bullhead, Midas couldn't help but ask a question.
"We're not home...are we Dusk?" Midas asked.
"If this next part proves to be true...then our worst fears would be confirmed." Dusk responded, resting his head in his hands.
"Where are we even going?"
"You'll see."

Inside the Vale hospital, all the lights were out as it was time for all the patients to go to sleep. Though there were still some nurses and doctors up finishing up some paper work, as well as security guards patrolling the area looking out for any sign of intruders.
Midas and Dusk stuck to the shadows, hiding away from the guards and employees. The two boys were busy scouting the area.
"You know where the records are?" Dusk asked, Midas nodded his head in response, "Good, I'd honestly be shocked if you didn't."
"Why's that?"
"Cause you spend most of time here."
"Hah Hah, very funny." Midas groaned with the roll of his eyes.
The two then managed to sneak into the head doctor's office, Midas went over to a specific drawer by the desk and took out a set of keys.
The two then snuck out of the room, managing to stay out of sight of the guards and doctors. Eventually they made their way to the records room.
Midas walked up and unlocked the door letting them both go in.
"These things should be in alphabetical order." Midas whispered to his friend.
Luckily since they were looking for the Arc family, the first records labelled A was found quickly. After scanning through it they found a folder labelled 'Arc'.
Midas held the folder in his hands with baited breath and shaking hands, Dusk placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder. Midas took a deep breath and opened the folder, slowly taking out the contents.
And when he did...their worst fears were confirmed.
Looking through the folder they found the name Arc, Jaune and in the spouse box it read: Arc, Nimueh.
Midas frowned at seeing this.
Dusk was shocked at the news, but was keeping it together on the outside.
Scanning through more they found a name stating they hand a son by the name of Argent Arc.
'Argent Arc...' Midas thought to himself with a deep frown.
"Well, guess this proves my theory." Dusk sighed before standing up.
"We...we're not home...are we." Midas stated with his eyes shadowed and a sad voice.
Dusk then took out his scroll and took a picture of the file, prompting Midas to look at him in confusion.
"Having information on these counterparts would prove useful for us." Dusk explained pocketing his scroll.
"I kind of wish we didn't find out this stuff." Midas said sadly.
"Don't think like that." Dusk said as he took the folder from Midas and placed it back into where it was.
"This...this has to be like some kid of bad dream right?" Midas suggested.
"I'm not so sure."
"Y-Yeah...this is a bad dream! W-We must've overslept and any moment Lia is gonna wake us up for class!" Midas exclaimed with a panicked smile on his face.
Dusk looked at his friend for a moment with a sympathetic look in his eyes before closing them.
"Midas...we need to go." Dusk said.
"Wait! What about you?" Midas questioned.
"If it doesn't have any records of you, then it won't have records of me. We were born in the same hospital after all." Dusk said walking out of the room.
"Hey! Wait up." Midas said speed walking out the room with him.
Locking the door to the records room, they made their way back to the head doctor's office and placed the key back in the drawer.
"This...this can't be real...none of this is real!" Midas whisper yelled, blinking away a few tears from his eyes.
"We can't afford a breakdown right now." Dusk insisted, "We're still on a mission and we have to see it through."
"How the hell are you freaking out?!" Midas questioned with an annoyed look.
Dusk looked at him before walking past him and out the window of the doctor's office, "I never said I wasn't." was the last thing he said before jumping out the window.
Midas blinked before sighing, "That guy can be pretty weird." He then jumped out the window too.

They were once again walking the streets of Vale, blending in with the crowd, "Where are we headed too now?" Midas asked
"We're retracing the enemies' footsteps." Dusk said.
"Oh...oh shit. That means we're headed for..."
"Beacon." Dusk finished the sentence as they saw the school in it's glory.
"We'll need to head down into the underground of the tower...where Ozpin's library is...or was." Midas told him
"Yeah." Dusk agreed.
Midas was about to take a step into the courtyard before Dusk grabbed his shoulder, "Put your hoodie up. With how you look, there's a chance if people see you, less than savory rumors will start."
Midas agreed pull his hoodie over his head, blocking his face from being seen.
Thankfully, since the two were accustomed to sneaking out and sneaking back in of Beacon back home, they were able to get into the school, undetected.
Eventually they made it to the elevator that would usually take students up to the headmasters office, however that is not where our heroes were headed.
Midas managed to press the secret code that would take them down to underneath the tower at Beacon.

Jaune Salem Arc finally finished his paperwork for the day and let out a sigh of relief.
Getting up from where he sat, he let out a stretch and a yawn, "Finally, I'm done." He then made his way to the elevator to head down, "Maybe if I use my wings, I could get home just as dinner is served." He thought to himself as the elevator doors opened.
However before he stepped in, his eyes glowed red and he let out a sigh, as he felt the emotions of two individuals who he knows are not students.
And it was coming from underneath the school.
"So much for going home."

As Midas and Dusk walked around the basement of the school, they came across a door.
"Okay, the library should be right behind here." Midas said.
Dusk went to open the door, but stopped right before his hand touched the door knob. Turning back to Midas he said, "There's an enchantment on the door that has it locked."
"An enchantment? Must be dad's work...or well the dad of this world." Midas suggested.
"I think I have a spell that can completely destroy the door...but it'll definitely make some noise." Dusk said.
"Don't worry bud...I got this." Midas said stepping up to the door.
The blonde performed a series of hand signs as he started chanting a few phrases, "Pillars of Light, Scale of the Dragon, Recoil." By the time he was done...his hands started glowing yellow.
Midas put his hands on the door knob and turned it, opening the door.
"...How the hell did you do that?" Dusk asked with a shocked expression.
"I used to come down here back when I was a kid, whenever mom wanted me to drop off lunch for Grandma. I'd come down and attempt to break the enchantments my dad used to put up...it was fun." Midas explained with a smile.
Dusk rolled his eyes, "Of course you'd consider something like that fun."
The two boys then walked into the library and by golly was it huge.
"Holy Crap! How the hell are we gonna find the book that those bastards took?!" Midas questioned.
"Let's just look, as far as we're concerned, no one knows we're down here." Dusk said.
And so for the next 10 minutes, the two boys were looking for a specific book that could potentially provide the answer to bring them back home.
Eventually however...
"Dusk! I think I found it!" Midas said pulling out a book from the shelf, labelled 'Travelling the cosmos.'
"Found what exactly?" Instead of Dusk answering him like he'd hoped, an all too familiar voice answered.
'Dad?!' Midas exclaimed mentally.
"You know kid, I'll give you some credit. You have to be really brave and smart to manage to find this place and break that enchantment I myself put up on the door." Jaune said, leaning against a wall with his arms crossed.
'Shit. Shit! SHIT! This is bad!' He noticed Dusk at the end of the shelf hiding.
Jaune then narrowed his eyes as the more he was around the kid, he realized how much of a familiar presence he had.
'Is...Is that Sparrow?' Jaune pressed his hand against his chin in thought, 'No. He looks way too old to be Sparrow...and even then I doubt the kid knows how to get down here.'
However he noticed the emotions of the kid were starting to spike. He sensed the fear, anxiety but most of all the sadness leaking off of this one kid.
With a sigh Jaune said, "Look kid, if this is some kind of prank, if you turn around and face me I won't take you to the authorities."
Midas inhaled a deep breath, 'I'm sorry dad...but I need to do this.'
Midas then clasped his hands together he glowed yellow and two clones of him appeared on both sides.
"Aura clones?" Jaune said, shocked the someone else knew that technique.
The two clones then charged at Jaune who got in a fighting position, however he noticed that both clones pulled out some pink dust crystals.
"What the-" He was cut off when they both stabbed it in their necks before the clones glowed pink.
Jaune was still prepared to fight...however when the glowing light disappeared...his eyes widened to dinner plates and his jaw quite literally hit the floor.
Both the clones had transformed into Ruby and Yang...expect they were wearing more...risque clothing.
'Ruby' was now wearing a bunny girl outfit that made all her curves stand out WAY more than normally. She even got the bunny ears as well.
'Yang' on the other hand was wearing a black latex cat costume, that hugged all her curves in the right ways. She even got the cat ears and tail as well.
"WHAT THE FUCK?!" Jaune exclaimed.
Dusk slapped his forehead, 'Of course he'd use that move!'
The Ruby and Yang clone then went on the right and left side of Jaune respectively and hugged his arms, making sure they were sandwiched between their boobs.
"Oh Jaune~~~ Please come back home~~~" 'Ruby' said sensually in his ear.
"Come on Stud~~ How's about we take off those clothes and 'Yang' all night~~~" 'Yang' whispered to him, before licking his cheek, "Mmmmm~~ Tasty~~"
'Ruby' then gently grabbed his face and turned him towards her, "Why don't you come back home, I'll bake some nice cookies, Dad will come and take the kids and then we'll go-to-bed~~" The Ruby clone said before she kissed him on his nose.
That was enough for Jaune whose eyes rolled back into his head and his nose spurted out a gallon of blood as he flew back and hit his head on the wall hard enough to leave a crack, knocking the huntsman out.
The two clones then disappeared before Midas turned around, "I'm really sorry dad! Maybe I'll make it up to you later!" He apologized as he ran out of the room with Dusk quick in toe.
"Good thing using mom and Aunt Yang still works on him." Midas said as both him and Dusk entered the elevator.
"Still doesn't change the fact that you're a pervert." Dusk responded as the door closed.
"I'm not a pervert! The whole point of that attack was to take down dad in one hit! I literally never do that to anyone else!" Midas desperately explained to his friend as they rode the elevator up.
