Coveted Prize For A Kiss

Hello and welcome to my second experimental fanfic of Blue Box, in which a new inspiration popped into my head in an unexpected way, and I'm sure you'll be baffled as to what made me come up with another experimental and risky fanfiction I wrote, so below is the explanation on why.
This started last month when I was surfing on my smartphone and reading the recent, and latest, chapters of the Blue Box manga online, and while reading a chapter, an idea popped into my head after seeing Haryu and Karen being close to each other yet they haven't done anything romantic, like kissing each other on the lips and stuff, but then I recall some time ago where a contest was held in the US some decades ago, where a contest took place and the contestants were romantic couples where they would kiss each other, and the last remaining pair would be the winner.
There I thought of making a story using that element and see if this would attract fans of the manga and the upcoming anime (set to air this October by Telecom Animation Film and TMS Entertainment).
At present, Karen Moriya and Kengo Haryu and Taiki Inomata and Chinatsu Kano are the only pair who are going out but I might add a third pair depending on how the reception of this fic is.
Whether this fic would be received by fans or rejected would depend on how they would view it as this is going to be my first attempt on a sports-romance fanfic since I'm more into shounen-type series like My Hero Academia.

Ch. 1: Yoki senu odoroki no hakken
The scene shifts at the Inomata residence where Taiki and his parents arrived after the latter two spending the day cheering their son when Taiki tried his hand at the Nationals' first round tournament, and despite giving his all, Taiki was eliminated from the first match due to his opponent being more skilled and having more experience.
Likewise, Kengo Haryu and Nishida tried their hands as they competed in the first match of the doubles tournament and despite showing good teamwork they were eliminated from the tournament, but after that the Eimei Badminton Team, along with their coach, Karen Moriya and the Inomata parents, went to a restaurant and celebrate the teams members' efforts even though they failed to advance to the semi-finals and finals.
As the team members celebrated loudly, one of Taiki's teammates began teasing Taiki about thinking of his girlfriend and wished that she was here, which Taiki had to deflect, yet the other members joined in and commented that if Chinatsu Kano were here Taiki might have gotten some morale boost and might make it to the next round of the national tournament, which Taiki tried to keep it down.
"I'm betting that if Kano-senpai were here Taiki might've gotten a chance to win!"
"That's what I'm thinking…"
"But would that work? Haryu lost despite his sweetie-pie watching with us…so I doubt Inomata would benefit…"
"H-hey…not too loud…!"
"Huh? Why not?"
"Kano-senpai is your girlfriend, right?"
"Why are you keeping her a secret…?"
"That's…"
Karen and Kengo smirked at the scene as they are aware that Taiki and Chinatsu are dating, while Ayame was surprised to find out that Chinatsu was dating Taiki, and the celebration went on for a few more hours before everyone went home.
Back at the present, as Yukiko Inomata went ahead inside the house, Chinatsu greeted Mr. Inomata and noticed that Taiki fell asleep at the doorway laying face-first on his traveling bag, and she smiled at him with affection which Mr. Inomata took a deep breath and asked Chinatsu if she is dating Taiki, surprising her as she didn't expect that Taiki's dad would figure out so very soon.
She confirmed it and apologized though he assured to her that it is okay and said that he should have anticipated this given that Chinatsu and Taiki are living under the same roof, but when he asked her if she plans on telling her parents, Chinatsu said that she is afraid of what the reactions would be as she hasn't achieved anything yet, but said that eventually once she and her basketball team makes it and enters the Winter Cup tournament then she would inform her parents of her relationship with Taiki.
"So that's what you'll do, Chinatsu…?"
"Yes."
"I see."
"That would be my goal and…"
"Okay, I'll leave it to you. However…"
"Huh?"
"I think you might got the wrong impression about what your father's reaction would be if he finds out that you're dating my son."
"Eh…?"
By then Yukiko calls for Chinatsu and she went towards her while Mr. Inomata sighed and tells the sleeping Taiki that he is counting on him to behave appropriately and not take advantage of Chinatsu, even though Taiki did not hear as he is fast asleep.
"As for you, Taiki "
"*snoring*"
"I know that you worked hard and everything, but…"
"*snoring*"
"I'm counting on you to behave appropriately."
"*snoring*"
"And protect Chinatsu since you started going out with her…"
"*snoring*"

Several days later, Ayame and Karen are walking home after spending the day shopping for groceries, and there they came across a flyer posted on the wall of a nearby establishment and Ayame took a peek where she saw that it is advertising a very delicious food and pastries which is said to be up for grabs in a proposed contest that is to be held in less than two weeks from now.
Karen took a look and saw it too, she is also tempted as she happened to taste the said food and pastry and liked it, though she is curious as to what is at stake here when the flyer stated that the food and pastry would be the top prize for an upcoming contest, and wondered who came up with such an idea.
"Huh? So the food and pastries are the main prize…?"
"Hmm…sounds good, nee-chan…"
"How so…?"
"At least you won't have to pay for it…"
"True…but you'll have to register in order to join and try winning it…"
"Well, think of it as trying your luck on a lottery game…"
"Come on, Ayame…"
"Heh…"
By then a staff member came and is seen preparing flyers and saw that the flyers are the same ones that was posted on the wall, and there Karen asked him if the so-called food and pastries are the top prizes, which the staff member nodded and said that they got the mayor's permission and that it would be held at a park near here, and that several people, notably pairs, got the flyers and are eager to enter and join the contest.
Karen raised an eyebrow when the staff member said "pairs", and she inquired about it and what does that have to do with the contest, and there the staff member told Karen about it, causing the latter to stare wide-eyed at hearing what the staff member said, while Ayame blinked her eyes at hearing this, as she didn't expect to hear what he just answered in regards to the upcoming contest.
"Huh? You mean…?"
"Yes, miss…"
"To enter and participate…the requirements are…a boy and…a girl…"
"Not just a guy and a girl…the pair should be in a RELATIONSHIP…"
"And then…THAT…?"
"Yes."
"In front of other participating pairs…?"
"Correct."
The staff member said that the contest would involve two persons forming a pair, which the requirement is that the pair should be a romantic couple, a boyfriend and girlfriend, and the rules are simple: the couple should kiss each other romantically for as much time as possible and the last couple remaining would be declared the winner and gets the grand prize, while the first and second place winners would get consolation prizes.
Ayame eyed Karen as the latter blushed as she realized that in order to enter the contest she would have to convince Haryu to agree into participating and there Karen took the flyer and thanked the staff member before leaving, with Ayame following, and there the Moriya sisters discussed about what to do and how to persuade Haryu to join Karen in entering the contest.
"Looks like you got yourself a situation, nee-chan…"
"Looks like it…"
"So…are you going to ask Kengo for help…?"
"I wonder…"
"Why not talk to him about it?"
"Yeah…but it would depend if he's willing and…"
"Who knows? He might accept…"
"You think so, Ayame?"
Coincidentally, Haryu and Nishida happened to pass by and the latter is holding the same flyers and he teasingly asked Haryu if he is going to ask Karen if she would join him in entering the contest, which Haryu sighed and said that it's unlikely that Karen would be interested in this as he knows that she is TOO WHOLESOME and would probably don't want to do something risqué, and she feels like she might act like a hentai if she were to use the contest as a pretense to MAKE OUT with him.
"Whoa…you think Karen might feel like she's a hentai if she were to participate in that contest, Haryu?"
"Probably. Heck, she'd be MORTIFIED, if not TERRIFIED, if she feels like she'd be auditioning as an AV idol if she were to participate with me at that contest…"
"Come on now, Haryu…I don't think Karen would…"
"What's even worrying is that Karen might think I'm taking and use this as an excuse to discreetly MAKE OUT with her in an open place…
"Uh…Haryu…"
"And to stay safe…I won't mention this to…"
"Haryu…behind you…"
"Huh…?"
Karen twitched her eyes at hearing this and grabbed Haryu and twists his ear and said that she heard what he just said and told him that she is not a perverted girl and would never do something silly, which a panicking Haryu apologized whilst urging her to let go of his ear as it is getting painful from the pulling Karen is making.
"Kengo! Did I hear what you just said?"
"OW-OW-OW-OW!"
"You think that by entering and participating in that contest with you would make me act like a nymphomaniac?"
"OW-OW-OW-OW!"
"Take that back or else!"
"OW-OW-OW-OW! Okay! Okay! I'm sorry, Karen!"
"Me? Auditioning as an AV Idol? You think I'm going to make a career as a porn star?"
"OW-OW-OW-OW! Karen! Let go of my ear!"
Ayame sweat-dropped at seeing this and wondered what Haryu would do if Karen asks him to join her in entering the contest, and looking at the flyers, she was drooling as she finds it irresistible to ignore the prize, but she wondered how to enter the contest as she is single at the moment, and that her crush, Shuji Yusa is far and studying at Sajikawa High, and thus she couldn't think of anyone she could turn for a little help.
Nishida noticed Ayame staring at the flyers and he teasingly suggested asking any of her fellow first year students to POSE as her lover so that she could enter the upcoming contest, causing Ayame to stare wide-eyed as she told him she couldn't do that since she said that she didn't have her eyes on anyone right now other than Sajikawa's Yusa.
"Oh come on now, manager…"
"But…if I'm going to enter that contest…I have to give my first kiss to the boy I like…but…"
"Too bad Yusa is studying at Sajikawa High…and the distance is…"
"Oh geez…"
"Why not ask one of our boys to pose as your boyfriend and…"
"But they're not my type…"
"You shouldn't be picky, manager…"
"But…but…"
Ayame and Nishida's bickering stopped when they heard that Haryu RELUCTANTLY accepting Karen's request to join her in entering the contest, as she promised that she'll share the prize with him, and Haryu nodded provided that no one else finds out as he is worried that his underclassmen and badminton teammates would accuse him of taking advantage and use the upcoming contest as an excuse to MAKE OUT with her.
Karen blushed deeper and twists Haryu's ear and told him to stop making comments like that, which he yelped in pain as he tells her that he was only kidding but she didn't believe him and continue to PHYSICALLY BERATE him while Nishida and Ayame sweat-dropped at the scene they are watching while hearing Karen nagging at her boyfriend.
"Kengo! Did I hear what you just said?"
"OW-OW-OW-OW!"
"So you're think that by entering and participating in that contest with you I would take advantage of you and make you GO HORNY? That's a distasteful joke!"
"OW-OW-OW-OW!"
"Take that back or else!"
"OW-OW-OW-OW! Okay! Okay! I'm sorry, Karen!"
"Me? Taking advantage of you and you think I'm going to seduce you and GO ALL THE WAY? You think I'm going to make a career as a porn star?"
"OW-OW-OW-OW! Karen! Let go of my ear!"
Ayame sighed but Nishida asked her if she is still hellbent in entering the upcoming contest, reminding her that she doesn't have a boyfriend right now but suggested that she asks one of their teammates to a pose as her boyfriend but Ayame sighed as she said that she would have to think about it carefully.
"Sorry…but I need to think about this carefully…"
"You sure, Ayame?"
"Yeah. I can't ask someone out of the blue to pose as my boyfriend just to enter the contest…"
"Okay, it's your call."
"Yeah. Maybe I'll leave this to nee-chan and Kengo."
"Yeah, since they're a legitimate couple."
"…"
"Don't feel bad. Karen would probably give you a share of the price…"

Hope you like the opening chapter, as this was inspired and based on chapter 152 – 155 of the Blue Box manga, but I added some original plot and a bit of some naughty humor in the end, but this is just the start as more are on the way.
With Karen and Haryu agreeing to enter the upcoming contest where the last remaining romantic couple would be the winner and claim the top prize, Ayame appeared to be dejected as she consider in joining the contest but she is currently single, though Nishida suggested that she ask a boy in the badminton team to pose as her boyfriend so she could enter.
As for Chinatsu and Taiki, it remains to be seen if they too would enter the contest…

The next chapter would show if Ayame would find someone to help her enter the contest even though she is currently single…and whether a boy she asked would be willing to agree…
Chinatsu and Taiki discovered the flyers, and though tempted after seeing the prize at stake, they would have to discuss about it after learning what the requirements are…
