Ever since the incident at Lexcorp, with Lincoln and everybody working together to save Lucy from Lex Luthor and Chandler, Superman decided that it was best for his children to stay at the Kent Farm for the time being. Martha and Jonathan were willing to keep an eye on their grandchildren, but that doesn't mean that they weren't a tad bit worried. It was already a handful raising Clark, but Lincoln, they had some deep concern for, due to how...prone he was to emotional distress. The boy tried to pull his weight around here through some hard work, but it wasn't exactly what he needed right now.

Lucy took the time to recover from the stress she was put through while under the imprisonment of Luthor, but Lincoln has been working himself tirelessly to get over the recent events. Not that Ma and Pa appreciated it, but they didn't want the young boy to destroy himself. So while Lincoln was working the acres, they thought of how to break him out of this funk and get him to relax.

"I just don't see how we can through to him," Jonathan said as he discussed this with Martha. "He only ever comes in when its time for some chow, and never goes out to see around the town."

"There are lots of other people still around." Martha countered. "Friends of Clark while he was growing up. Maybe they could help out a little."

Jonathan thought about it. While he raised Clark, there were some friends that came and went, and other kids just decided to give him a hard time, but he taught Clark how to handle such situations and look after himself.

"Not a bad idea. But there's not really that many people who could help us out with that."

But that's when Martha brought up a suggestion "Well how about Lana? She was considered to be the Godmother of Clark's children."

"I don't think Lois would want us to introduce her kids to her, considering what happened last time she visited." Jonathan said.

Yeah, Lois Lane and Lana Lang don't really get along as one might think. When they met, one thing led to another, and the next thing both women knew, they had restraining orders on each other. But Clark and Lana were still on good terms as friends.

"Lois and Clark are back in Metropolis, and as long as we're in charge of keeping our grandchildren safe, I say they have the right to see their Godmother."

"We have a Godmother?" Lucy asked, appearing out of nowhere and startling her grandparents.

"Oh, God Lord, Lucy." Martha said, holding a hand to her heart. "I don't think I'll get used to you doing that."

"No one ever does."

"You shouldn't really be out of bed, dear." said Jonathan, showing concern for his granddaughter.

"I do feel better now. But what's this about me and having my brother having a Godmother we don't know about?"

"She's an old friend of your father, Lana Lang." Martha explained. "A journalist like your mother, but they do not get along. I'll give her a call and see if she's willing to meet up with us?"

"That's nice." Lucy said before looking around the house. "Where's my brother?"

"He's out, working the field." Jonothan said, albeit sounding down though. "Or more like, he's out, working through all my tools."

Outside, Lincoln was angrily trying to work the field of crops with a garden hoe. But the tool snapped in his hands, so he tossed it to a pile...of other garden hoes and other tools he broke apart.

"Well, hopefully, a trip to the diner will help him to relax." Martha said. "Lana agreed to meet us there. It'll give you a chance to introduce yourselves."

"Sounds great. Can't wait."

"I'll get Lincoln." Jonathan said...though he had to dodge another broken tool that Lincoln casted aside.

Later on, they were at the Diner, ordering some food while they waited for Lana. Lucy had some waffles with sausage while Lincoln had himself a half sandwich. She could tell that her brother was still down about all the things that have been happening to them lately. It was a lot to take in and she could tell that Lincoln felt like he had the weight of the world on his shoulders. Even she would agree that he's been having it worse with all the fighting and enemies that they've been facing. That's why they were moved to the country, to get away from it all and just have some fresh air and relaxation. But her brother couldn't relax so easily. Hopefully, meeting some other friends of the family could help him out.

"So, how are you guys enjoying the food so far?" Martha asked.

"It's very delicious." Lucy replied, Lincoln only giving a subtle nod. Still, the boy was shutting himself out, but Martha hoped that would change real soon.

"Well now, I didn't expect to see you all here so soon."

That was a woman's voice that made Martha and Jonathan turn to see Clark's Old Friend. The kids also turned and saw a young woman, no older than their mother, with short red hair, a leather jacket, and brown jeans walk up over to them. This was Lana Lang, a journalist for Smallville's daily newpaper, and their father's old flame, his High School Sweetheart. Imagine her delight when she heard that she was picked as the Godmother for Lincoln and Lucy. Of course, she and Lois are still not on speaking terms, so she was fortunate to be meeting them right now.

"I'd say you have perfect timing, Ms. Lang." said Pa as Lana walked over and hugged the old man.

"Please, Jonathan, if I call you that, you can all me Lana." She says before turning over to Martha and hugging her happily as well.

"It's so good to see you." Ma Kent said before turning to the kids. "It was about time you meet Lincoln and Lucy here. Clark's children."

"Well, I as I live and breathe..." Lana went over and ruffled their hair and both kids could tell that she was a friendly woman. She then turned to Lincoln "You know, you look just like your old man."

"I do?" He asked.

"Yeah! Believe it or not, he was a bit of a dork, growing up." Lana commented and Lincoln rolled her eyes. He guessed that being constantly teased by childhood friends was something both he and his father had in common. "A lot of kids just thought he just was a weirdo. But the days I saw his powers in action, it was all starting to make sense."

"So, you know?" Lucy asked.

Lana replied. "Yep. In fact, there was this time-"

Flashback to when a young Clark saved an entire school bus from drowning...some folks called it act of God...they were half right...

"...and then, there was another time..."

Flashback to a teenage Clark saving a family from a burning gas station...

"And let's not forget..."

Flashback to Clark as a young adult, helping Lana out with some ruffians, and he barely had to use his powers for that one...

"This town really owes you father." Lana finished as she god herself some food to eat as well. "Whenever he's not saving others, he's just being a nice guy."

"Wow." Lucy said, though she barely showed emotion, she was genuinely surprised that her father basically kept the town save and sound.

"So, you witnessed when our dad first got his powers and saw all this happen?" Lincoln asked.

"I was there for most of it." She replied. "I...kinda fell for him. But when his heart was won over Lois, I...just turned to doing my job and learned how to let go."

"Grandmother said that you and mother were not exactly on good terms with each other right now." said Lucy

Lana waved that off "Oh, Jon and Martha are over-exaggerating. Me and Lois do not hate each other. We're actually really good friends."

"Really?"

"Yeah. Of course, it...can't be helped that she lives in the big city, has a better job than mine, won my childhood sweetheart over and nearly got into a fight with me over that sore subject a few years ago."

The kids saw Lana twitch her eye before her grip on the table left cracks and an indent...from super strength. But then, she got happy again.

"Yep. Completely over it." She said.

Both Lincoln and Lucy look each other before deciding to go along with this. Maybe they'll learn a little more about Lana than what she lets on...
