She woke, gasping for air, pleading to the gods to fill her lungs with the precious air she had been deprived of. She found herself in a cabin, small and empty. Aside from the couch she lay on and the taupe-colored coffee table and matching chair directly across from her. Curiosity and fear piqued inside her, how'd she wound up here? Why wasn't she dead living her best afterlife somewhere beyond this realm? Unless she had died and was this her hell? Taking a breath, she began to look around, take in her surroundings, hopefully able to answer some questions. Surprisingly there was more to this cabin than met the eye, a door, closed off to the far right. The fireplace to her left was lit, burning what seemed to be her clothes. Frantically she looked down realizing she had a change of clothes. She quickly got up not allowing herself to feel too comfortable in this strange place, she still didn't know if this was real. But she couldn't risk being unprepared and vulnerable. Walking towards the door determined to find more answers, a letter was left taped onto it.
"I couldn't let our time together end so abruptly, we were having so much fun. Besides I will be the one to take life from your eyes, dying in such a human way would be utterly disappointing. I've invested too much time into you. I'll see you soon, Asami.
- C.K"
Choso had saved her that night, but what was his real motive? Simply stating that he had saved her to kill her later did not make sense. She was a sorcerer, and he was a curse, her death regardless of how it came to be should have been a relief. At the end of the day, she would be dead and he would not, so why go through the effort to save her? Asami needed to find out. Not a second later she was headed out the main door and into the wooded area that surrounded her. Her blood began to boil as if nearly dying had not been enough trouble, she now had to find her way out of this place. Angrily she made her way through using nothing but sheer luck to get herself out.
An hour later she found herself at the edge of Kyoto, streets buzzing, oblivious to the impending dangers that surrounded them, at every corner, curses were sucking the life out of the world. Scum - this earth was full of it, scum that remarkably saved her life, and she needed to find that lowlife and erase him - after she got answers.
