Chapter 3
Dad, Mom, JoJo and I were eating dinner at the table in our everyday dining room. Mom and JoJo had gotten home from work and school an hour before.
"How was work?" I asked my mom.
Mom is a doctor as well as the Queen of Denmark. She's an amazing woman.
"It was great," she said. "I love helping people."
"Mommy is an amazing doctor," JoJo said.
"She's also an amazing mother to us, isn't she?" I asked.
JoJo nodded. Mom smiled at me. I smiled back. I turned back to my sister and asked how her day at school was. She told me that it was a great day.
"Paige," Dad said. "I granted our eldest daughter a wish today."
"What wish is that?" Mom asked.
"I'm going to Wisconsin to visit Grandpa Ben and Grandma Amy," I said. "I haven't seen them in a while plus I'm always stuck here while you're at work and JoJo's at school."
"I think it's a great idea," Mom said.
"Really?" I asked.
"Really," Mom said.
So, four days later (Saturday), I left for Manitowoc, Wisconsin. It was an eight hour and forty-seven-minute flight. I was asleep when we landed at Austin Straubel International Airport. The stewardess woke me up.
"Princesse, vi er landet i din mors hjemland," she said. (Princess, we have landed in your mother's homeland).
"Tak, Agnete," I said. (Thank you, Agnete)
I got up from my seat, grabbed my bags and left the plane after I told the crew to head back to Copenhagen (after refueling and rest). I went through the tunnel and saw my grandparents with a sign that said "Alexa Mikkeldatter" on it. I ran over to them. I hugged them.
"Hi, baby," Grandma said. "Let's go home."
I fell asleep when I got to the farm.
