Past the long, white and winding walls, Lindo finally made it to a long hallway with seemingly hundreds of doors, after what felt like hours of walking, even though it was only about twenty minutes. "Here we are, Miss Lindo" Tolli says, with a floating green arrow that points to a door, a golden bar on top reading "1976".
"Woah" Lindo says as she stares as the door, touching it to make it sure it was real. "So this is my room?" Lindo asks. "Precisely" Tolli replies in his snarky British accent. Lindo looks up to see the golden edge of a portrait, so she backs up to see a giant picture framed on the wall, it was a picture of Doctor J, who was dressed very formal, in that same dark and muted blue suit, along with slicked back black hair, not a strand out of place. His mysterious green eyes were almost as if they were staring into Lindo's eyes, or possibly even further.
Next to him was someone who Lindo assumes to be his wife, she had long, dark brown hair that was beautifully wavy, and another suit that was a dark and muted red, almost pink. She had those same mysterious green eyes, but they were a lot softer than Doctor J's. At the top of her hair, it was almost as if Lindo saw ginger roots, like she had dyed her hair.
"Are you done gazing at the picture, or are you ready to go into your bedroom?" Tolli says, in a quite sassy tone. "Oh! You're right Mister Tolli Man, I should probably do that" Lindo says a bit embarrassed, as she walks back over to her door.
Lindo grabs the handle, but the second she turns it to go into her room, a loud alarm blares as the handle locks up, causing her to let out a surprised and scared squeak. "PLEASE ENTER YOUR NAME TO CONTINUE. PLEASE ENTER YOUR NAME TO CONTINUE. PLEASE ENTER YOUR NAME TO CONTINUE" the alarm repeats, in a voice that is incredibly robotic, while red lights flicker all across the walls.
Lindo just stands there, shaking, as the loud voice had deeply scared her, and the lights were hurting her eyes. She kept still as her entire body shook, just staring at the flashing lights on the wall. Finally, after a few moments of freezing up, she takes a deep breath, and then yells "I'M LINDO!" and the alarm turns off. Then the same robotic voice said "Access Allowed", and the door handle made a clicking noise.
"Took you long enough!" Tolli says, and even though Lindo wasn't looking at Tolli, she could tell that he has the biggest smirk on his face.
She walks over to the door, opening it to find a large bed right against the wall, along with some books in a black, wooden bookcase. She steps inside the room, the comfortable red carpet soothing her bare feet, as the black walls cloaks her in a shadow. "It's... really dark in here." Lindo said, staring at the walls as she took tiny steps in random directions. "It's almost like you could flip that light switch over there." Tolli says, a bit annoyed.
Lindo walks over to the light switch, and gently turns it on. Suddenly, the room lights up, leaving Lindo to gawk at it even more. She walks over to her bed, laying down on it exhausted. She has never felt something so soft, other than her lavish bed when she was still a child.
Lindo could barley remember her life before the forest, but the coziness of the blankets must've triggered the nostalgia in her brain. "This must be where I sleep" Lindo says, rubbing the furry blanket between her fingers. "I've never felt something this comfortable..."
Suddenly, the door creaks open a bit, revealing a short girl who is about the same age as Lindo, with ivory skin, and long ash blonde hair, going to her knees. She has shiny purple eyes, that almost seemed fake. "Have you seriously never seen a bed before?" The girl says in an annoyed, German accent, putting her hands on her hips.
"Uh, no I haven't, actually. My life hasn't been quite great.." Lindo says, her voice becoming sad as her eyes got misty. ",it's way softer than the leaves, that's for sure" She continues, letting out a nervous laugh at the end. The girl in the doorway just stood there, confused about what she just heard.
"Whatever, I don't really need your sob story. Doctor J needs you in his office for the test soon, so you have a little less than an hour to fix up all the leaves and dirt on your face." She says, starting towards to the door. "Wait! I didn't get your name?" Lindo says, a bit nervous and scared."Why did her name even matter, why would I ask that?"Lindo thought in her head.
"Oh, the name's Polly" she says turning her head back to look at Lindo. "I already know you're Lindo, I could hear you scream it from my room." and with that, Polly walked away.
"She is right, Lindo, you should most definitely clean yourself up so you don't look like a monster for the test" Tolli says in a sassy tone. Lindo scoffs at Tolli, "And just where do I clean up at, BoxBoy?" Lindo asks, annoyed. "That door right over there is the washroom" Tolli says, the floating arrow appearing again and pointing to the bathroom door.
Lindo gets up off the bed and goes over to the bathroom door. Opening it, she saw a large piece of glass on the wall. She looks at the glass and saw her own reflection, she hasn't seen herself in years. She has light tan skin that is covered in dirt and mud, and a large scar across her icy blue eye. Her long, golden hair is in a tangled mess, and her clothes look terrible.
She wears a ripped up pink shirt that her parents had left her in, and wrapped a ton of leaves and vines around her thighs and waist, like they were "shorts". She has ripped up dark grey socks, that used to be pants before she outgrew them. She gasped at the sight, and fell down onto the floor.
"Are you alright Lindo? I'm only asking so I don't get dismantled if you're hurt" Tolli says, sounding genuine at first and then getting sassy at the end. "Rude," Lindo replies. ",but yes, I'm okay. Just a bit... shocked" "Well Lindo, it's time for your relatable shower" Tolli says in a mocking tone. "Excuse me?" Lindo says.
Suddenly, a brush fell into Lindo's hand. "First, you must brush your hair so you can properly wash it" Tolli says. After a very painful brushing session, Lindo went over to Tolli and turned of his sight via settings mode, and got undressed. "Now, Tolli, how do I take a shower?" Lindo asks, standing in the warm water.
Once Tolli explained the basic shower doings, Lindo got out and grabs the red shirt and black pants on the toilet seat. She got dressed, and then fixes Tolli's settings. "Now I will tell you to how to properly braid your hair." Tolli says, as if he was a famous hair stylist teaching young hair-stylists-in-training. Lindo finishes up, and walks out the bathroom door, feeling better than ever.
"Now, Lab please Tolli" Lindo says to the snarky bot, and a green arrow shows her the way once again.
