After a bit of walking and minimal banging into the wall, Lindo and Tolli found themselves in a large room. Smells and sounds filled the air, leaving Lindo extremely curious at what they all were.
"When do I get my food?" Lindo asks, genuinely wondering how long it would take for these people to hunt something down to eat.
"Just sit down at a table." Tolli replies, his sassy tone fading a bit as they were around other people. "They will bring the food to you." He says, sighing as if she should already know this.
Giving a slight nod, Lindo puts out her hand to find a table. After feeling around, she plops down on a table, ready for whatever food she is about to get.
Tolli sighs, "Lindo, you need to sit on the other part of the table. Manners." He says, with a hint of sarcasm in his voice as he knew she wouldn't know how to sit at a table correctly.
Blushing a bit from embarrassment, Lindo sits down on the table the correct way, getting an audio of people clapping from Tolli, causing her to chuckle.
"When will the food be here?" She asks, her voice starting to get slightly impatient. Before Tolli could answer, a small whir could be heard getting closer to Lindo. Suddenly, a plate gets pushed towards Lindo by some sort of robotic arm.
"Enjoy." A very robotic voice says before rolling away, not even waiting for an answer. Turning her head towards the plate set before her multiple smells could be smelled.
Reaching forward to grab some food, Lindo suddenly stops. "Tolli, what is on my plate?" She asks, not wanting to accidentally eat something that was not supposed to be consumed.
"Seems like it is food." Tolli says with the same small robotic chuckle he loves to do. Rolling her eyes, Lindo shifts on her seat, trying not to laugh along with him.
"Well, I know that, but tell me what this is," She asks, tapping her fingers impatiently on the table, the mysterious smells still flowing into her nose. "Or else." She threatens.
"The edible type, duh" Tolli replies, his laugh increasing in volume. Reaching out, Lindo grabs whatever is on her plate, deciding she was just going to eat it since Tolli was being so snarky.
"Ahhgg," Lindo half screams, her hand landing in a glob of mashed potato feeling food. Pulling her hand away quickly, Lindo grabs a napkin and starts to wipe off the gloop on her hands. "What is this stuff?!"
Tolli, vibrating with laughter suddenly stops, a few hints of him still chuckling could be seen but overall he was pretty much done. "That is Lorginguin." He replies, as if everyone knew what that was.
Lindo shakes her head in a confused way. "What is Lorginguin?" She says, still working on getting it off her hand with the napkin. "It sounds like a medicine." Lindo says, half sarcastically.
"Correct! In a way." Tolli answers, his programs already pulling up data for him to spit out about the dish that he needed to explain. "Lorginguin was a medicine Doctor J created for the JenLaPoy, only for it to be found useless except for a lunch extra." Tolli replies, his voice in a way more cheerful tone than Lindo would care for.
Setting down the now lorginguin covered napkin, Lindo grabs a fork off of her plate. "JenLaPoy, what's that?" She asks, slowly scooping up something onto the fork and putting it into her mouth. "And what is this?" Lindo yells, spitting out the food.
"That was the lorginguin, and uh about the JenLaPoy-" Tolli starts, before getting cut off by a new voice coming they're way. "Lorginguin? That stuff is horrible." The new voice, seeming extremely cheery for the predicament Lindo was in.
Lindo slowly backs away from the voice, only to get a laugh in return. "It's ok, I won't hurt you." The happy voice says, the sound of them sitting down at the table could be heard. "The names Cinder!"
"Hello Cinder, I'm Lindo." She slowly replies, her mouth in disgust from the sudden taste of the horrible food. Not waiting for an answer Lindo picks up a piece of chicken out of sheer hunger and begins to eat.
Cinder sets down something on the table a little too hard with a bang. "I already know you're name, well probably everyone here does." She says in her cheery voice. "It's just we've heard of you from Polly and I had to come and say hi."
Raising her head from her plate Lindo ponders this, Pollys been talking about me? I hope it's nothing bad-, she thinks, her head locked in a straight position as these thoughts run through her head.
"You ok?" Cinder asks, her cheery voice suddenly changing into a voice with some pity. "If it's because Polly's been talking about you, don't worry it's nothing bad." She says.
Hearing this, Lindo lets out a sigh, she had already been here one day and was already known all over. "I'm ok-" She says, a frog in her throat as she fumbles through what she going to say. "But, why are you so glad to see me?"
"Well because Polly said your pretty chill." Cinder replies, shrugging her shoulders. "Plus you lived in a forest, that's really cool!" She exclaims, the excitement in her voice coming back.
Lindo nods, slowly shoving more food into her mouth as she was starving but didn't want to be too rude. "I guess that's cool." She replies, not sure if it was or not.
"Plus Polly says your pretty funny, like when you cried about how you couldn't see." Cinder chuckles as Lindo blushes from embarrassment. "But that's normal, we've all been there, how are you doing?" She says, moving on from that subject.
"Not good, but at least I finally get to eat." Lindo replies, munching on a carrot, trying to eat everything besides the lorginguin. "And how did you react to being blind?" She asks, curiosity in her voice, pulling them back into the conversation.
Cinder clears her throat, "we all react differently, yours was about the same as all of ours." She replies, her voice slowing down. "But anyway, I'm doing very well! I finally get to eat today. Some test reasons wouldn't allow me before." Cinder says moving off the topic of there blindness once again.
Lindo nods and reaches for another piece of food, only for it all to be gone except for the mashed mush in which she didn't want a part of. "What does this stuff look like?" She asks Cinder, pointing at the goop on her plate.
"I can't see. At least not till Wednesday." Cinder says, a mix between happy and depressed. "I can't wait to finally see again!" She says before a vibrating sound comes from Cinder's side of the table.
"Cinder, you are going to be late to your meeting with Doctor J." The voice says in an accent unknown to Lindo. "So please hurry." It says, before going silent.
Cinder jumps up from the table. "Well looks like I have to go Lindo, it was nice talking to you!" She says, grabbing the box from the table and heading for the exit.
"Bye Cinder." Lindo replies, waving her hand even though Cinder couldn't see her waving. "Vivian, please take me to the lab!" Cinder's voice says as she walks out the lab, leaving Lindo behind.
Suddenly Tolli vibrates, "Miss Lindo, we need to head over to the left wing." He says, a small timer ringing, notifying them that she is late. "Or else you might become a gloop of lorginguin." He says, with a chuckle.
Lindo rolls her eyes, "I think your exaggerating a bit." She says, laughing a bit. "Turn left sir." Tolli says, leaving Lindo to slam right into a wall, headfirst, starting the journey to a very long walk to the left wing.
