Chapter 2: A Truly Shocking Experience

Straczynski's Diamond and Jewelers

"Nobody move!" A lone gunman shouted at the top of his lungs to the few patrons of the store. He fired a shot from his pistol into the air, causing panic among the customers. "I said nobody move!" He shouted once again, causing the customers to freeze, afraid they might get shot. "Everyone besides the jewel guy, on the ground now!" The crowds quickly obeyed the commands of the criminal, while the jeweler stayed completely still, without even showing any signs of panic on his face. The criminal quickly made his way to him. "You, all the jewels you have on the display, into the bag, now!"

"How about no?" The jeweler replied. The criminal looked at him in confusion.

"What?" He asked as he pointed the gun at the jeweler. "Are you seriously trying to die today?"

"Not at all." The jeweler responded. "But at the same time, I also know you're not going to be able to hurt anyone today." While he was talking, he noticed the front door open as a familiar looking costumed individual walked in. "I mean, you do realize whose neighborhood this is, right?"

"Man, I don't give a shit if it's the Pope's neighborhood!" The criminal exclaimed. "Jewels! Now!"

"Boy, I sure hope you don't kiss your mother with that mouth." Spider-Man quickly remarked as he leaned against one of the walls. The criminal quickly turned around. "Also, just bad manners all around. What happened to please and thank you?"

"Spider-Man!" The criminal shouted out loud as he pointed his gun towards the vigilante. Spidey causally raised his hand up and fired a web off, completely covering the barrel of the gun in webbing. The criminal stared at his firearm in complete shock at what happened.

"Seriously, how did you expect this to go?" Spidey causally joked as he looked at the crook. Seeing no other options, the crook tried his hardest to sprint out of the store. But before even taking his step, he immediately tripped as his foot was pulled by a webline. He let out a small yelp as he was hoisted onto the ceiling, dangling by the singular webline. "How about you just hang out while you wait for the police, huh?" Spider-Man jokingly asked as he looked at the now upside down criminal.

"Thanks for your help, Spidey." The Jeweler said as he looked at the costumed vigilante. "Don't know what we would do without you around."

"Eh, it's no problem at all, it's just what a friendly neighbor does." Spider-Man remarked. "Oh, do you happen to have a sticky note? I need to do one more thing." The Jeweler quickly handed him a pen and a sticky note. Spider-Man began to write something on it. "By the way, I know it's not my place to say, but I would invest in a security system or guard. Might help you get robbed less."

"Funny enough, we're actually getting one installed tomorrow." The Jeweler remarked. Spidey looked up from his writing.

"Huh, funny timing." He remarked as he finished. He walked over to the upside down crook and placed the sticky note on his forehead. It read, 'Courtesy of your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man', along with a little drawing of a spider. "Well, see you around, J. Michael!" Spider-Man remarked as he quickly exited the store and swung away to a vantage point across from the store. Once perched up on a ledge, Spider-Man reached down to a web he previously created and pulled a camera out from it. He looked at the photos that the automatic timer took. He smirked, knowing that they would fetch a good pay check from his employer. One of his other responsibilities, besides saving everyday New Yorkers, is to take photos of his alter ego for the Daily Bugle, one of New Yorks' biggest newspapers. Over the years, he's certainly gotten better at it. "Not bad, Peter."

The Daily Bugle

30 minutes later…

"Parker, you do realize that most of these are crap, right?" J. Jonah Jameson, the head editor of the Daily Bugle and Peter Parkers' boss, commented as he looked at the camera. "I mean, most of these you can barely even see Spider-Man." Before Peter could defend himself, Jonah showed the camera screen to him and proceeded to show each photo. "Crap, crap, crap, mega crap. That one's not bad actually."

"Sorry Boss." Peter meekly remarked. "I didn't really have a chance to get up close. It all happened so fast." Jonah looked at him.

"Parker, you may not realize it, but we are performing a civic duty to this beautiful city." Jonah stated as he walked over to his window. "This city does not realize it, but there is a menace that walks among us every single day. He masquerades himself as a savior of the people, but I know the truth. And the truth is that he's nothing more than a menace who employs criminals to make himself look like a hero to the unsuspecting public. And if he thinks that J. Jonah Jameson will accept that in any capacity, then he better say his prayers, because I will expose him for the menace that he is!" Peter stood there completely confused on what he could even say, as a lot of Jonah's speech did not make sense in the slightest.

"Seriously Jonah, you have got to get new material." A new voice suddenly said, surprising Peter and Jonah. Especially Peter since he sounded so familiar. When he turned around, he was met by the familiar face of a man in his late twenties. He looked like the stereotypical gym bro with how muscular he was. He had some scruff on his face with a five o'clock shadow, and dirty blonde hair cut in a Caesar Cut hairstyle. "I mean, it's almost like a broken record at this point." Eddie Brock jokingly remarked.

"Eddie?" Peter joyfully asked under his breath.

"Ah, Brock, perfect timing." Jonah stated as he looked at the reporter. "I have a special assignment for you two actually." The two young men looked at their boss. "Oscorp is holding a special event this weekend, apparently they're doing a presentation for a possible military contract where a new technology is going to be shown off. And I want you two to cover the event. And I don't care that it's the weekend, Parker, you can always be with your friends another day. Is that understood?" Before the two could even answer, Jonah spoke up again. "What are you two standing around for? Get out of here!" Almost immediately, the two almost ran out of them before anything could be hurled at them.

"Jeez, why is he always so grouchy?" Peter questioned as he looked back at his senior reporter.

"Maybe it has to do with the fact that the two biggest Bugle troublemakers are reunited once again?" Eddie remarked with a smirk on his face. And Peter matched his smirk as he quickly patted him on the back.

"Good to have you back, man." He said joyfully. "Also, what the hell?" Peter questioned as he playfully pushed Eddie as they headed towards the elevator. "When did you get back from San Francisco?" Eddie shrugged.

"Oh, you know. A week." He replied back, leaving Peter surprised.

"You've been back a week." Peter said in a deadpan tone. "And not one single text telling me you're back in town?" Eddie gave him a smug smirk as he looked back at him as he pressed the button to call the elevator.

"What can I say? I like surprises." Eddie jokingly remarked. There was suddenly a ding, indicating that the elevator had arrived. The two quickly hopped on and Eddie pressed the button for the lobby. "So, what do you think about our new assignment? Think your Osborn friend can get us free tickets?" Peter smirked as a response.

"I honestly don't mind. You know how much I like tech and all the advancements that have been going on recently." Peter quickly stated. "And truth be told, I don't think Harry would like it if I constantly asked him for free favors."

"I guess that's true. You will always be a nerd." Eddie playfully stated, leaving Peter slightly offended. "And it could be worse. You could be a part of JJ's podcast." Peter raised an eyebrow at that statement as he looked at Eddie for some kind of answer. "You haven't heard? JJ's starting a podcast to, quote-on-quote, spread the Bugle's message to the younger generation who haven't read a newspaper since they got those godforsaken smartphones. His words, not mine." Peter let out a groan.

"Oh god, that's going to be a nightmare." He said in a dreadful manner. "I already know what it's going to be all about. 'Spider-Man, Threat or Menace? Tune in every episode to find out'."

"That and conspiracy theories and all the superhumans that have been popping up." Eddie added on as the elevator. "Hell, his first guest on the show is going to be a guy who claims he saw a semi-truck turn into a giant robot." Peter let out a sound signifying his disbelief.

"Okay, even with everything that's going on these days, that's too ridiculous to believe." He remarked as he and Eddie quickly hopped off the elevator. "It's good to have you back man." Peter sincerely admitted as he looked back at Eddie. Eddie gave his young friend a smirk.

"Me too, Pete." Eddie quickly remarked. As he said that Peter glanced behind the senior reporter to see the clock hanging on the wall.

"Crap." Peter mumbled to himself as he pulled out his phone. "As much as I would love to play catch up, I got to run. Homework and all that, you know." He quickly stated. Eddie gave him an understanding nod.

"We'll catch up later, it's cool." He said as he playfully punched Peter's shoulder. "Go be a normal kid." Pete gave a little nod as he started heading out the front door. "Before you go, question for you." Hearing that, Peter stopped in his tracks as he almost dreaded what Eddie might ask. Especially if he thought that it could accidentally hint to his other lifestyle. "Have you been working out?" Eddie questioned. Peter relaxed himself as he looked back at Eddie.

"Maybe a little." Peter admitted as he quickly left the building.

Greenwich, New York

After multiple subway rides, Herman got pretty tired of trying to get to this shop. But after everything he's been through, he needed some payback from the Spider. And hopefully, this offer will prove as fruitful as that Wesley guy was saying. And after walking for a couple of blocks, he came across an almost run down looking shop.

"This can't be the right place." He muttered to himself as he looked at the building. He then looked at the address that was on the business card that Wesley gave him. And then back at the shop. And back to the business card. "Shit, this is the right place." He defeatedly muttered as he let out a deep sigh. "If I see that Lawyer again, I swear." He said to himself as he entered the store. Once he entered, he looked around and it looked as run down as the facade outside. There is no else besides him in the entirety of the place. He almost cut his losses and left, that was until he heard the sounds of something in the back.

"Bah, damn it all!" An aged voice cried out, almost spooking Herman. As the crook slowly made his way to the back of the store, he could hear more incoherent mumbling. Once he got to the source, he saw a very old man bending over picking up some kind of piece of technology. He was clearly balding, had a pair of very thick glasses on his face, and if Herman had to guess, this guy was clearly in his late 80's…or maybe even 100 years old, that's how old this guy looked. Finally noticing Herman, the old man turned around. "What do you want? If you're here to rob me, it won't do you any good. Barely have enough to keep this place tidy."

"No, I ain't here to rob you." Herman said. The old man looked at him curiously. "I uh, I got a radio that just can't carry a tune." Hearing that, the old man slowly nodded.

"Wesley sent you?" He asked. Herman nodded, annoyed at hearing that name again. "What took you so long? The old man then began to walk towards a certain section of his shop. "Phineas Mason, but everyone tends to call me The Tinkerer. Now, what can I get you?" Herman shrugged his shoulders.

"Uh, I'm not exactly sure." Herman responded. "I was just told to come here. No clue if I'm supposed to pick something up or anything." Phineas shook his head.

"Typical Wesley." He mumbled to himself. "That's what Wesley likes to do." He called out Herman as he began looking over certain gear he has created over the years. "He likes to keep things vague so that way he can have some sort of deniability if someone tries to be a rat." Herman raised an eyebrow at that statement.

"And has anyone tried to rat you out before?" He questioned as he began to look at some of the gear as well. Phineas chuckled.

"Of course they have." He admitted. "But with my age, it's easy to play it out as if I have memory problems, and I have no idea who these people are." He then looked over to the crook. "Careful looking at that stuff, some of it could melt your face off." Hearing that, Herman took a very cautious step back from the technology. "So, what exactly are you in the market for?" Herman once again shrugged his shoulders.

"Something that could kill Spider-Man. Does that narrow it down for you?" He quickly stated. Hearing that, Phineas' ears perked up.

"Oh, it's the Spider you're after?" He questioned, almost in a joyful manner. He shambled over to a metal box and lifted it up onto a table. "Then these might be able to help you out." He then opened the box to show Herman the contents. "Vibro-shock gauntlets. Capable of firing concentrated blasts of air that have been vibrated at an intense frequency." Herman let out an impressed whistle.

"Yeah, okay. That would certainly do the trick." He admitted as he went to pick up the gauntlets. Phineas was quick to slap his hand away. "Ow!" He muttered to himself.

"Did I say I was done yet?" Phineas barked aloud. "There is a downside to using these, and that's you can't use them on their own. Otherwise, you're liable to blow your arms apart." He then started to stroll over to a cabinet and opened the door to it. "Which is why you'll need to wear this." Phineas stepped aside, showing off a suit to Herman. The crook stared at it for a couple of seconds, before a smirk started to spread across his face.

The Next Morning

Forest Hills, Queens

6:25 AM

As Peter tried his best to wake up, he could already feel the call of his bed begging him to just continue to sleep for a couple more minutes. He knew he had to get up and get ready for school, but with both of his jobs, he has found himself more exhausted as of late. But he knew that he couldn't let his tempting bed control his life. Due to his experience, he now knew his fortitude was strong enough to-

"Five more minutes…" He muttered to himself as he pulled the covers over his head. Just five more minutes, is that too much for the friendly neighborhood hero to ask for? But clearly, it was as his alarm started going off. As it continued blaring, he let out a very annoyed groan for at least a minute. "Fine, I hear you. I got it." He said aloud as shut off his alarm and proceeded to get out of bed. As he got himself ready for the day, he couldn't help but notice all the little scars that he has accumulated these past couple of years. Sloppy mistakes and not following his Spider-Sense when he first started. But he couldn't help but feel some sense of pride seeing them, knowing that these scars meant that someone else didn't get hurt. He smirked as he finished getting ready, and then it was time to head downstairs.

"Morning, sleepyhead." He heard as he descended down the stairs. As he turned the corner to walk into the kitchen, it was that he saw his biggest supporter in the world. A woman in her early 50's, with dark brown hair, and a bright smile on her face. "How did you sleep?" May asked her nephew. Peter shrugged his shoulders.

"Oh, you know, about the same." Peter remarked as he looked at her cooking. "How about you?" May was the one to shrug her shoulders.

"Honestly, about the same as well." She said with a small smile on her face. "How was yesterday?" Peter gave a smile back as he sat down at the table.

"Oh, you know, about the same as any other day of school could be." He remarked. "I made a new friend." May perked her ears up at that statement.

"Let me guess, her name is Mary Jane?" She questioned, much to Peter's shock.

"Yeah, how did you…" He began to ask, but she quickly cut him off.

"Didn't you know your Aunt is a psychic?" She jokingly replied as he playfully put her hands up to her temples, pretending to read her nephew's mind.

"Like that Marvel Girl from that school up in Westchester?" Pete caustically asked, really hoping his aunt wasn't a psychic, especially since he hadn't told her about his secret life. She started giggling in response to that.

"I wish." She remarked. "No, I met her aunt and she told me how she was transferring to Midtown."

"When did you meet her?" Peter asked, raising an eyebrow at the statement.

"Yesterday, when she was finished moving in next door." She responded.

"...MJ lives next door?" Peter meekly questioned as the information sank into his brain. May raised an eyebrow.

"MJ, huh?" She teasingly asked. She then noticed the little look Peter had in his eyes. "Does someone have a new crush now?" Peter instantly started blushing.

"What? No." He began to state. "I mean, I only met her yesterday. I don't really know much of her personality, her likes, what she doesn't like. Plus, I'm still a bit of a nerd and someone as pretty, which is a fact not a personal observation, and there's no way she would go for-"

"Peter, you do know I'm teasing you, right?" May asked in a concerned manner. She can sometimes forget how talkative her nephew could be whenever he gets nervous. To that, Peter began to chuckle nervously. May was about to say something, but then she noticed the time on the clock. "Oh, crap." She muttered to herself as she started to gather her things. "Sorry to have to run out of here so fast, but work will kill me if I'm late one more time." She quickly said as she started to head to the door. "I'll see you later tonight. Love you!" May quickly shouted before heading out the door, leaving her nephew all by himself.

"Love you too." Peter silently said to himself as he prepared himself breakfast. A couple of Pop-Tarts usually hit the spot for him. As he ate, his mind went back to the thought that the new girl is now his next door neighbor. That is certainly going to make things a bit convenient for him if he wanted to head to school normally as he now had someone to walk with and talk to. But it also makes things a bit more complicated for his alter ego, as it means he now has to be more careful when it comes to going out and coming back into the house with his uniform on. Now he doesn't have to worry about keeping his secret from May, but now his friend, who also just so happens to be one of the prettiest girls he had ever seen before. As his eyes began to wander around the kitchen, he landed on a picture of a special someone Peter has a lot of respect for. "God, I could really use some of your advice right around now." Peter muttered to the picture of a younger him and his uncle Ben.

But realizing that it won't help himself by being worried, Peter decided to let out some steam before he went to school. Luckily, he had enough time to do so. He finished his breakfast and headed back up to his room. He quickly stripped off his clothes, stuffed them into his backpack, and put on his red and blue costume. Peter truly loved his new suit, and the tech and fabric he got from Harry was certainly helpful out in the field. The red and blue were certainly a classic color scheme, and Captain America made it work. But he won't lie to himself if said that maybe he would like some different suits for different situations. Like, an armored suit to handle gunfire. A black suit for stealth missions would also be awesome. But that's all for another day, as he opened his window and began his webswinging adventures of the day.

(X)

45 minutes later…

After dealing with a considerable amount of robbers and drug dealers, Spider-Man swung across the cityscape at a pretty casual pace. He luckily had 30 minutes before school started. Plenty of time in his opinion.

"C'mon, Pete. What are you even thinking about?" He said aloud to himself as he fired a webline to a nearby building. "I mean, you cut it pretty close yesterday. You shouldn't have that kinda thing happening again." As he swung, he couldn't help but admit that his conscience was certainly having a good point. "I mean, when it was summer, you could do this for hours. But with Senior year coming up soon, you're not going to be able to go out on the town as much. Plus, it certainly wouldn't be good if this resulted in grades slipping." As he continued to talk to himself, he perched himself onto a nearby perch. "This whole superhero thing certainly isn't easy. And it messes with life constantly. But you have to do it. 'Cause if you don't people get hurt. Or worse. You can't let it-..." He paused for a couple of seconds as his mind instantly flashed back to the night it all changed for him. When Ben died in his arms. And how he let it happen… "Never again." He muttered to himself as he gazed out to the city. His city.

BOOM!

A loud explosion completely snapped Peter out of his trance as he recognized how close it was to him. A block away he had to guess as he saw gray smoke billowing in the air.

"School's going to have to wait." He said as he dived off the ledge and swung as fast as he could to the scene. In only a minute, he landed right in front of a bank that had citizens running out of it, trying to get somewhere safe.

"Spidey!" A young bank teller screamed out as she ran to him. "You got to stop him! He came in with this weird suit, and then he-" She tried to catch her breath, but it was clear that that she was shaken by what just happened

"Don't worry, I got this." He calmly stated as he reassuringly grabbed her shoulders. "Call 911, explain what's happening, and tell them that their Friendly Neighborhood Hero is on the case. You got that?" He reassuringly asked. She nodded as she looked at him. "Good, now I have a bad guy to catch." He said as he quickly webzipped into the building. As he perched himself a wall, his Spider-Sense immediately went off, causing him to jump off as a response. Mere seconds after, the wall exploded as Spider-Man landed on the ground.

"I have been looking forward to this for a long time now." A familiar voice stated, causing Spider-Man to look towards the source. Standing in front of him was a man in a yellow quilted suit, with brown armor plating all over his legs and shoulders, giant silver gauntlets covered his forearms and were letting out some kind of steam due to recent usage. Spider-Man could only see the eyes of his opponent through tinted goggles, and they showed pure unadulterated hatred. "Ready for round 2, bug?" The crook asked as he thrusted his fists outwards, causing a blast to fire. Peter's eyes widened as he rolled out of the way.

"I'm sorry, am I supposed to know who you are?" Spider-Man asked as he fired a web line to the ceiling, trying to get some distance between him and this guy. As he began to swing, the criminal fired another blast, barely missing Spider-Man and destroying a pillar behind him.

"You seriously don't recognize me?!" The crook angrily questioned as he fired at the webline, causing it to snap in mid-air, leaving Spider-Man to fall. "You don't remember all the times you made fun of my name? All the times you put me in jail?" Hearing that, Spider-Man's eyes widened as he finally connected the dots.

"Wait, Herman? Is that you?" Spider-Man questioned as he landed on a pillar. Before he could say anything else, Herman shot another blast towards his direction. Spider-Man lept out of the way, but not in time, as the debris of the pillar managed to hit him and knock him to the ground. Herman slowly began to walk towards the downed hero.

"I'm not just Herman anymore!" Herman shouted to his enemy. "You used to look down on me all the time, along with everyone else! Making jokes about my name, about how dumb I was, about how I'm nothing more than just some random guy who will never amount to anything in his entire goddamn life! Well, guess what? No more! I want to see everyone try to laugh at me now! I'm not Herman anymore! I'M THE SHOCKER!" He then began to charge up his gauntlets for another blast.

"That's what you're going by now?" Spider-Man remarked as he effortlessly kicked the debris off of him, and got back up. "I mean, it would make sense if you had electric powers, but you don't even-"

"SHUT UP!" Shocker screamed out as he threw a punch towards the hero. Spider-Man bent over backwards mere seconds before the villain could make contact. The Web Head then shot a web ball towards Shocker's left foot, causing it to now be immobile. "What the-" Shocker began to say, before he got interrupted by Spider-Man punching him in the face, causing the villain to be slightly dazed.

"C'mon, Herman." Spidey remarked. "I thought I was going to be experiencing a truly shocking experience. See what I did there?" He jokingly stated to his foe. And as a response to his comedic remark, Spider-Man earned a punch to the stomach that sent him flying across the lobby of the bank, smashing into a teller's station.

"Do you ever shut up?!" Shocker exclaimed as he began to power up his gauntlets again. Trying to move, he remembered that he couldn't due to the fact that his foot was webbed down. "Guess a blast will have to do." He remarked as he began to aim at the webhead. "Honestly, it's a shame that I couldn't do this up close. Because I wanted to see the look in your eyes when-" Before Shocker could finish his statement, Spidey fired out two webstrands that completely covered the gauntlets. "...Oh shit." Was all Herman could say, as the gauntlets being jammed caused them to backfire and send him flying across the lobby and knocking him out.

After a few minutes, Shocker reawakened to the sight of Spider-Man standing in front of him, holding one of his gauntlets… While he was upside. It took Herman a couple of seconds to realize that in reality, it was he who was upside down, as Spider-Man had webbed him to a wall completely upside down.

"Hey, you're finally awake!" Spidey remarked as he crouched down to meet Herman's eyesight. "Like my handiwork? It's something I've never done before. I mean, I've webbed baddies to walls before, but never upside down, you know?" Hearing his voice once again, Herman tried his hardest to break out of the webbing. "Dude, you already know what it's like to be caught in my webbing. Why are you even trying at this point?"

"Because it was supposed to be different this time!" Herman blurted out, in an angry tone. "He said that it was going to be enough to beat you!" Realizing what he just said, Herman quickly tried his best to shut up. Which then got Spider-Man curious as to what he meant.

"I figured that someone gave you this tech." He stated as he looked at the gauntlet in his hands. "I mean, you're smart, but not that smart to build something like this. And you got out of jail fast. So…Who got you out?" Herman refused to say anything, which somewhat got Spidey frustrated. He then looked at the webbing. "I guess I should add more webbing. I mean, you'll be hanging upside down for a couple of hours, and the cops might not be able to get you down. But at least-"

"I don't know who got me out, alright?" Herman suddenly stated, causing some surprise from the webhead. "There was this lawyer who got me out. Total dick, by the way. He said that he works for some guy. And apparently, you've been messing with his stuff recently. They got me out and gave me this tech to do whatever I want. And all I had to do was kill you." Spider-Man got quiet hearing that. The thought of someone gunning for him was not new to him, but knowing that they had the tech to actually hurt him, that was scary. "I got names, but I get the feeling if I tell you, then I'm dead." Herman said, with a smug smile on his face.

"Well, either way, I'll find out who's pulling the strings." Spidey said, walking away from the crook.

"See you again, bug." Herman muttered under his breath as he watched Spider-Man walk out of the bank, as the cops started pouring into the building. Swinging away, Spidey's mind was racing as he thought of what this could all mean. Someone with the means to make super villains is after him now. It doesn't seem like they know who he is, as Herman didn't call him by his real name. But he could be wrong. He'll have to be more careful with being Peter and Spider-Man. As he swung, he checked his phone…And now he was 25 minutes late to school.

"Could this day get any worse?" He muttered to himself.

(X)

Meanwhile…

As Adrian sat in his apartment, the only thing that was on his mind was his recent firing. Osborn humiliated him, in front of everyone. Years of work, reduced to nothing. All because of stupid plans. He didn't steal anything! In fact, he perfected it! The ungrateful son of a bitch!

"I'll kill him." He said to himself, in a hushed tone. As he looked at the suit that laid before him, he knew what he had to do now. But before he could do anything else, there was a knock at his door. He got up, frustrated as he always is, and opened the door. Standing before him was an asian woman in her late 20's wearing a leather jacket and having a serious look on her face.

"Adrian Toomes? Detective Yuri Watanabe." She stated as held up her police badge to him. "I received a report from your former employer, Mr. Osborn. He stated that you are in possession of stolen government blueprints. Would you care to explain yourself?" She stared at him, waiting for some kind of answer. Adrian clenched his fist at what he had just heard. He knew that there was no going back now. He knew what he had to do.

"Of course. But I have something on the stove right now. Do you mind if I turn it off before it burns?" He calmly questioned, waiting for her to respond. Yuri sighed as she looked at this old man. It went against what her gut was saying, but he didn't seem like he was going to run.

"Go ahead. But don't take too long." She warned the old man. Adrian nodded as slowly closed the door. Yuri waited a couple of seconds, waiting for the door to open again. But after a minute, the old man had yet to return. She knocked on the door once again. "Mr. Toomes?" She asked, hoping he didn't have a heart attack. But she nearly got one, as what sounded like a jet turbine suddenly turned on inside the apartment. And that's when she realized that Osborn said something about a flying suit. She pulled out her pistol and kicked down the door. As entered the apartment, she saw a window was open and went straight to it. As she looked out, she saw Toomes flying away with a menacing wingspan. And as he flew, he made his objective known to the people below.

"OSBORN WILL DIE!"
