Laughter is the best medicine
Mirabel these days had been feeling like she hadn't accomplished enough and even though she tried to cheer herself up she just couldn't.
"Mamá?" Luna asked worried
She turned to her five year old daughter and smiled and tried to hide her sadness and be brave but he Luna was smart and could see right through her.
"Si, Mija ". She answers
"You look sad, I don't like it when your sad". She pouted
"Mamá isn't sad love, just not feeling well in my head". She said trying to smile
"Do you miss home?" She asked
"Everyday, But you know what you and your Papá are my home and that's all that matters ". She smiled remembering all the beautiful things about her home
Luna coaxed her face in a curiosity as her mother explains.
"You know Papá Héctor says the best medicine is laughter ". Luna said randomly reminded of what Papá Héctor had said
"Oh did he now?" Mirabel asked smiling
Luna then decided that day she was going to cheer her mother up and she was determined to make happy Again.
" I'll be right back". She declared
Mirabel smiled and nodded noting that she would stay here until her daughter was back in the meantime she picked up Charlotte's web and started reading.
Luna then went to her room and used her gift and opened up a portal to the land of the dead and jumped through it and just on the other side she jumped to the Rivera household, then knocked on the door and Rosita answering it .
"Mijita What are you doing here". She asked
"I… need… help". She panted
She zoomed past her Tia and sighed, Héctor put down the book he was reading and looked shocked, Julio and Oscar stopped at the sight of their Luna. Usually Mirabel was with her because her powers could be very dangerous at this age.
"Carina, What are you doing here?" Héctor asked
"You know you aren't allowed to use your powers without supervision it's dangerous ". Julio said
"Yo se, but I needed help". Luna frowned her little face sad with sad eyes
"What with Mija ". Coco asked
"Mamá is very sad, I think she misses home or something I don't know she won't tell me all she said is that she was sick in her head". Luna exclaimed
"Oh no". Oscar said
They all gave each other a look and then looked at the girl.
"What?" Luna asked
"Mija come sit". Coco said as the girl sat next to her
"Luna honey, your Mamá has a complicated past it's hard to explain… she doesn't talk about it much because it makes her sad." Felipe replies
"Is that way she's sad sometimes?" She coaxed
"Si, Mija her family treated her very bad back then before you were born". Héctor smiled sadly
"Does that mean she hides it?" She coaxed
They nodded.
"Oh". She sighed
"Lunita sweetheart are you okay?" Victoria asked her niece
"Is it because of me?" Luna asked
"Oh heavens no". Coco said
"Some pepole are just bad Mija that's all and these pepole hurt your Mamá but never you or any of us okay?" Victoria exclaimed
"Si". She smiled
"What can I do?" Luna asked
They smiled at the question as the girl was trying to heal her mother's heart.
"Do you give Mamá lots of hugs and kisses?" Imelda nodded
She nodded happily .
"Do you help around the house?" Oscar asked
Again she nodded
"Do you love her?" Héctor smiled
"Si!!" She exclaimed
"Then that's all That matters is isn't it". Coco smiled
"But you always the best medicine was laughter ". She pointed
"That I did". Héctor smiled
Just then Luna got an idea and it went off.
"I think I know to help Mamá ". She sighed
"Gracias ". She called to her family as she exited the house
"Ay she's just like Mirabel and much like Miguel she has determination ". Imelda smirked
"That she's got Mi vida". Héctor smiled
"She's growing up so fast". Rosita smiled and put a hand to her chest cavity
~~~ Back In the land of the living ~~~
Luna was back in her room and then with the idea set in her head she raced down the hallway, Mirabel was cooking lunch and Miguel smiled at the sight of his daughter.
"Where have you been off to young lady?" Miguel asked
"Just outside". She lied
Miguel smiled as he looked into her eyes and knew that her daughter was laying to him and so was Mirabel.
" Sweetheart do you know not to use your powers with supervision you know how dangerous it is". Mirabel replies
"I know but really needed help" . She pouted
"You could have come to me love". Miguel smiled
Luna felt bad that she had disobeyed her parents for using her powers but she knew that this was something she needed.
Luna then went to her Papá and whispered something and Miguel 's face turned happy and joyful to sad and then understanding.
Miguel nodded at the idea that his baby girl had planned and so he happily agreed.
"What are you two planning?" Mirabel asked
Miguel then went into the kitchen and turned of the stove wrapped his arms around his wife as Luna turned on the radio and started to dance as they exited to the kitchen. Miguel spun his love around as they danced.
"You are ridiculous ". Mirabel replies
As they danced she laughed as he spun her around and Luna knew it was working so she joined in and danced her skirt twirling with the beat. Mirabel then bent down and picked her baby up and smiled at her .
"You did just for me Mi vida?" Mirabel Continued
Luna nodded happily and danced with her Mamá holding her close to her heart. Miguel smiled and danced with his girls it was the best feeling in the world and he couldn't ask for anything better.
Mirabel smothered her daughter in kisses giggling.
Now this was something Luna treasured close to her heart as Miguel spun them both smiling. Anything to make her mother happy because that was all Luna needed and wanted.
As they danced smiles and laughter or filling the room and that was all they needed and wanted at that moment.
Laughter truly was the best medicine of all…
