Hey everyone! Sorry for the long delay in getting this chapter out. Writing this story has been quite a challenge, especially coming up with new and engaging chapters. I really appreciate your patience and support. I hope you enjoy this latest installment!
The sun shone brightly over the city, casting long shadows on the grounds below. Mina and Izuku walked hand-in-hand, embracing each other.
Mina's hand rested gently on her rounded belly, feeling the occasional flutter of movement from their baby girl. At seven months pregnant, she was glowing with a mix of anticipation and the unique energy that only Mina seemed to possess. Despite the physical changes and the growing weight she carried, her spirit remained as lively as ever.
"It's hard to believe we're only a couple of months away from meeting her," Mina said, her voice filled with wonder. "It feels like just yesterday we found out."
Izuku smiled, squeezing her hand reassuringly. "Time flies. But we've made a lot of progress, and we're getting ready for her. You've been amazing, Mina."
She grinned, playfully nudging him. "You're not so bad yourself, Deku. You've been balancing hero work and taking care of me like a pro."
Izuku's eyes dimmed as he added, "And let's not forget the foot rubs and back massages whenever you need them."
Mina blushed, her cheeks turning a soft pink. "Well, those helped," she admitted with a shy smile. "You're the best, Deku."
"And also cooking your favorite meals," Izuku continued a playful glint in his eye. "Even when you got angry because I messed up something."
"Okay, okay I get it." Mina puffed her cheeks, it's not my fault, mood swings you know." She smiled and then kissed his cheeks, I'm just happy you know. I'm delivering your baby, and I couldn't ask for a better husband for all my needs." She squeezed his hand tight and kissed him deeply. Izuku blushed, he loved it when she did that, she may get grumpy at times but who can blame her, she was carrying his child and she'd been through a lot, the best thing he can do is make her comfortable. He just couldn't wait to be a father.
Today, their destination was the grand library of Musutafu. They had decided to spend the day reading books on how to take care of their baby, gathering all the knowledge they could to prepare for the arrival of their little girl.
"This is gonna be so great, even though Libraries aren't my thing." She stated, shrugging her shoulders. "But I want to know so much about being a great mother, I can't wait to dive into those parenting books," Mina said, her excitement palpable. "There's so much we need to learn before she gets here.
Izuku nodded, his excitement matching hers. "We'll find everything we need. The library has an incredible collection of books on childcare, and I'm sure we'll get some valuable insights."
As they entered the grand library, they were greeted by the sight of endless rows of bookshelves, filled with volumes of hero history, quirk evolution, and, most importantly for today, childcare and parenting. The air was filled with the faint scent of old paper and a quiet reverence that seemed to permeate the space.
"This place is amazing," Mina whispered, her eyes wide with awe. "I feel like we could spend weeks here and still not see everything."
Izuku nodded"Yeah, I remember coming here with my mom all the time when I was younger, I'll take the section on infant care, and you can look into early childhood development and parenting tips."
"Okay," Mina agreed, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek before heading towards the designated section.
Mina and Izuku headed to their respective sections, each determined to gather as much information as possible. Mina found herself in a cozy library nook dedicated to early childhood development and parenting tips. She scanned the shelves, her fingers tracing over the spines of various books until one title caught her eye, the book was about how to balance hero duties and being a mother.
As she flipped through the pages, she found a chapter on giving birth as heroes. The detailed descriptions of childbirth, coupled with the added complexities of handling quirks during labor, made her cheeks flush. The book discussed strategies for managing powerful quirks that might manifest unpredictably during the birthing process and how hospitals equipped to handle heroes had specialized protocols in place.
Mina couldn't help but imagine herself in such a situation, her face growing warmer with each vivid scenario. She quickly turned the page, only to find tips on post-birth care for both mother and baby, emphasizing the importance of balancing recovery with hero duties.
"Awww." Mina purred, she saw a mother hero with her baby in her picture, embracing her infant, that's how she wanted to be with her future daughter Miyu, she then felt some kicks and winced a little bit, but then felt fine after a little while.
Meanwhile, Izuku was buried in a book talking about how to childproof a home where both parents had quirks, the best ways to foster a safe environment for a newborn and techniques for soothing a baby who might have inherited strong quirks.
Izuku's concentration was interrupted by Mina's voice, sounding slightly embarrassed. "Izuku, you have to read this," she said, holding up her book. "It talks about how quirks can affect childbirth. It's really... detailed."
Izuku looked up, noticing the blush on Mina's cheeks. He walked over and glanced at the pages she was pointing to, his eyes widening slightly. "Wow, that's... a lot to take in," he admitted, scratching the back of his head.
"Yeah," Mina agreed, laughing nervously. "But it's important to know, right?"
"Absolutely," Izuku said, his expression turning serious. "The more we know, the better prepared we can be."
At the checkout desk, the librarian, an elderly woman with kind eyes and a warm smile, helped them process the rental. "These are some excellent choices," she commented, scanning the titles. "Preparing for parenthood as heroes is a noble endeavor."
"Thank you," Izuku replied, smiling back. "We want to be as ready as possible."
With the books safely rented out, Mina and Izuku walked towards the library's exit. Stepping outside, they were greeted by the cool evening air.
As they settled into the car, Mina turned to Izuku with a sudden idea. "Hey, how about we visit Mei? She might have some cool gadgets to help us figure out what kind of quirk our baby might have."
Izuku hesitated, his mind racing. Mei Hatsume was undeniably brilliant, but her eccentric personality often left him feeling awkward. Things could get a bit unpredictable around her, and he was always on edge when visiting her workshop, he hadn't forgotten the many times she fell on top of him, with her breasts rubbing against his chest, he winced at the thought.
"I don't know, Mina," he began, his tone uncertain. "Mei's gadgets are amazing, but things can get a little... weird around her. And I was thinking of making us something to eat."
Mina, however, was determined. She leaned closer, her eyes wide and sparkling, her lips forming a pleading pout. "Please, Izuku? It could be really helpful. And besides, I'm so curious!"
"I don't know," Izuku said, rubbing the back of his head.
Mina held his hands and made a pout. "Please..." Her golden irises beamed at him.
Izuku felt his resolve wavering. Mina's cute plea face was something he could never resist. He sighed, a small smile forming on his lips. "Alright, alright. We'll go see Mei. But after that, we're eating something. Deal?"
Mina's face lit up with joy, and she clapped her hands together. "Deal! Thanks, Izuku. You're the best."
With that, Izuku started the car and began driving towards Mei's workshop. As they navigated through the city streets, he sighed and just carried on, he knew he couldn't stop Mina from getting what she wanted.
Izuku and Mina arrived at Mei Hatsume's workshop, a sprawling building on the outskirts of the city. The structure was a chaotic mix of high-tech equipment, half-finished projects, and an assortment of tools scattered around. Despite the disorder, there was an unmistakable sense of innovation and creativity in the air.
Mei had graduated from U.A. High School with top honors and quickly made a name for herself in the world of hero support technology. Several major companies had recruited her but chose to start her own business, believing she could innovate faster without the constraints of corporate bureaucracy. Over the years, her inventions had become essential for many pro heroes, helping them optimize their quirks and gear.
As they approached the entrance, the door swung open, and Mei appeared, her goggles pushed up on her forehead and her trademark enthusiastic grin on her face. "Izuku! Mina! It's been ages!" she exclaimed, wiping her hands on a grease-stained cloth. "What brings you to my humble abode?"
Mina stepped forward, excitement in her voice. "We were hoping you could help us with something. We're trying to figure out what kind of quirk our baby might have."
Mei's eyes widened with excitement. "A quirk analysis for a future hero? So cute! That's amazing! Come in, come in! I have just the thing!"
They followed Mei into the workshop, navigating through a maze of gadgets and projects. Mei led them to a sleek, high-tech machine at the back of the room. "This is my latest invention: the Quirk Predictor 3000. It analyzes the genetic data of both parents and predicts the potential quirks of their offspring."
Izuku was impressed, despite his initial reservations. "Wow, Mei, this is incredible."
Mei beamed with pride. "Thanks, Izuku! I've been working on it ever since I graduated. I wanted to create something that could help heroes prepare for the future, not just with gear but with their families too."
Mina's eyes sparkled as she looked at the machine. "How does it work?"
Mei explained the process, her hands moving animatedly as she spoke. "You both provide a small sample of your DNA, and the machine runs a series of complex algorithms to analyze the genetic data. It then gives you a detailed report on the possible quirks your baby might have."
Izuku glanced at Mina, seeing the eagerness in her eyes. Despite his earlier hesitation, he felt a growing excitement too. "Alright, let's do it."
Mei quickly set up the machine, and soon, both Mina and Izuku provided their DNA samples. As the machine hummed to life, Mei chatted with them about her recent projects and her plans for the future. Izuku marveled at how much she had accomplished since their days at U.A. High School.
While waiting for the results, Izuku's stomach growled audibly, reminding him of his earlier plan. "Mei, do you have any snacks? I was planning to cook something for us before we decided to come here."
Mei laughed, reaching into a nearby drawer and pulling out a bag of chips. "Help yourselves! The machine will take a little while to process everything."
As they continued chatting and snacking, the machine finally beeped, signaling that it had finished its analysis. Mei immediately jumped up and rushed over to the display, eyes scanning the data intensely.
"Okay, let's see what we've got here," she muttered, her fingers flying over the controls. Suddenly, her eyes widened, and she looked up at Izuku and Mina with a mixture of excitement and surprise.
"What is it, Mei?" Izuku asked, feeling a knot of anticipation tighten in his stomach.
Mei took a deep breath, her eyes sparkling. "Based on the analysis, it's quite possible that your baby, Miyu, might have a very unique quirk. It's not certain, but there's a strong likelihood."
Mina leaned forward, her curiosity piqued. "What kind of quirk?"
Mei grinned, clearly excited by the discovery. "From what the data suggests, Miyu might have a quirk that combines elements of both of your quirks. She could potentially have the ability to secrete an acidic substance, much like you, Mina, but with the added twist of being able to control and manipulate it with the precision and power of Izuku's One For All."
Mina's eyes widened in surprise, her eyebrows raising as she processed the information. "So, you mean she could create acid and then control it with the same level of strength and accuracy as Izuku's quirk?"
Mei nodded enthusiastically. "Exactly! She might be able to create and manipulate acid with incredible control, making it a very versatile and powerful ability. Of course, this is just a prediction based on genetic data, so it's not guaranteed, but it's a fascinating possibility."
Izuku and Mina exchanged glances, their minds racing with the implications of such a quirk.
"Wow," Mina finally said, her voice filled with awe. "That's... amazing. I can't even imagine what that would be like."
Izuku nodded, his mind already racing with ideas on how they could help Miyu develop and control such a unique quirk. "We'll have to be prepared for anything, but knowing this gives us a great start."
Mei smiled warmly at them, clearly pleased with their reaction. "I'm glad I could help. And remember, whatever quirk Miyu ends up having, she'll be amazing because she has both of you as parents."
Mina reached out and squeezed Izuku's hand, her eyes shining with determination. "We'll do everything we can to make sure she's ready for whatever comes her way."
Izuku squeezed back, feeling a renewed sense of purpose. "Absolutely. Thank you, Mei. This means a lot to us."
Before they could leave, Mei stepped forward and wrapped Mina in a warm hug. "Good luck, Mina," she said softly. "You're going to be an incredible mom."
Mina hugged her back, feeling a surge of gratitude. "Thank you, Mei. And thanks for all your help."
Mei pulled back and gave both of them a wide grin. "Anytime. And if you ever need anything else, you know where to find me."
Later that evening, back at their cozy apartment, Izuku was in the kitchen, putting the finishing touches on a pot of warm, hearty soup. Mina was snuggled up on the couch, a soft blanket draped over her legs, her hands resting gently on her slightly rounded stomach.
Izuku ladled the soup into bowls and carried them over to the living room, placing one carefully in front of Mina. "Here you go, Mina. I hope you like it," he said with a warm smile, sitting down next to her.
Mina smiled back, taking a spoonful of the soup and savoring the taste. "It's delicious, Izuku. Thank you."
Izuku beamed at her, feeling a rush of pride. As they ate, Mina leaned closer, snuggling up against him. The warmth of the soup and the comfort of his presence made her feel at ease.
After they finished eating, Izuku placed the bowls aside and gently laid his head on Mina's stomach, his ear pressed against her growing baby bump. Mina's cheeks turned a soft shade of pink as she watched him, a tender smile playing on her lips.
Izuku began making cooing sounds, his voice soft and affectionate. "Hey there, cutie. It's your dad. Can you hear me?" He gently rubbed Mina's stomach, his eyes filled with love.
Mina giggled, her heart swelling with affection. "Izuku, you're so adorable. I think she can hear you."
Izuku looked up at Mina, his eyes sparkling. "Really? You think so?"
Mina nodded, her blush deepening. "Yeah, I think she knows her dad's voice already."
Izuku continued to make gentle cooing sounds, talking softly to their unborn child. "We had quite a day today, we went to the library. We visited Aunt Mei, and she told us all about the cool quirk you might have."
Mina ran her fingers through Izuku's hair, her voice soft. "Yeah, it was pretty amazing. Mei's workshop is always so fascinating. I'm really glad we went." She said kissing his forehead, causing him to kiss her on his lips.
"Me too. It was a bit nerve-wracking, but I'm glad we did it. And now we have a better idea of what to expect."
Mina sighed contentedly, feeling a sense of peace wash over her. "I'm so excited for the future, Izuku. It's going to be an adventure, but I know we'll handle it together."
Izuku lifted his head and placed a gentle kiss on her stomach. "Absolutely. We'll be the best parents we can be, and we'll face everything together."
Mina's eyes shimmered with emotion as she looked at him. "I love you, Izuku."
"I love you too, Mina," Izuku replied, pulling her into a warm embrace.
"Besides, you need to massage my shoulder I'm getting sore again," Mina stated, Izuku sighed, while she gave him a toothy grin.
Phew! This story was a bit of a challenge to craft, but I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did writing it. More to come, thanks for reading it!
