Naruto's POV

Naruto was standing on top of the train. The wind was quickly blowing his spiky yellow hair. His once brand-new orange jumpsuit was now very torn and ripped apart. Despite its condition, Naruto wore it despite not wanting to give up his past. Lee and the other survivors had tried to get him to wear more appropriate clothes, but Naruto was always against it for one reason and one reason alone. After training for three days straight, Naruto felt even stronger. Doxie's training was more brutal than usual those past three days. Naruto shivered at the thought, but he loved the results.

And that wasn't the only thing they did during those three days. Lee also helped them all prepare for the apocalypse ahead. This was their future now. Naruto always wanted to return to his old world, but he realized that his dream might never come to pass, which had heartbroken him for the past three months. However, he realized that these people needed him, and Naruto couldn't turn his back on them, especially after the dairy and the destruction of the Motor Inn. That's why Naruto was getting stronger.

"Are you done with your internal monologue?" an unknown female voice said as her fist came down on his head, clearly annoyed.

"Ow! What was that for?" Naruto yelled.

"You always do this when you get on top of here. Ever since the training was over, you do this every single time that you're alone and the wind's blowing. It's getting annoying," the red-haired woman, who was not Doxie, said. This woman had white skin like Doxie, but her purple eyes and attire were more housewife-like—a dark green cooking blouse with a white blouse underneath. She wore black combat ninja leggings. When Naruto found out who she was, he was completely shocked and relieved. It was his mother. It was a long story of how this came to pass, which Naruto didn't want to get into right now. But she and his father were helping him in ways that Doxie, unfortunately, had no experience with, like seals, jutsu, and space-time ninjutsu.

"You know, Mom, I like doing that, and I'm going to keep doing that," Naruto yelled. They started arguing for an hour, but eventually, their argument was cut off.

Kenny yelled from the front of the train, which made Naruto turn around. He saw a giant green monster. It looked ugly but was very large and muscular, not in the most toned way but more like a fat sumo wrestler. The thing that was threatening about it was the steel spiked club it held on its back. It was just sitting there, staring at the train. Naruto immediately cut his connection and quickly followed everyone else, who was even more confused than he was.

"What the f*** is that?" Kenny yelled, not having any other words to describe his frustration, perplexity, and confusion. Chuck had a bewildered expression on his face and an annoyed one.

"We're going to be here for a while, ladies and gentlemen. This is a Bridge Troll. They are Type 3 and they're pretty crafty. Given our skill level, we can probably deal with one, but we'll need to do this carefully," Chuck advised.

"Can't we just walk away?" Ben asked.

"That's f****** stupid, Ben," Kenny said, putting two fingers on the bridge of his nose, unsure of what to do.

"I know we'll figure out something," Travis said, being more optimistic.

"What do we do, Chuck?" Lee asked.

The old man thought for a moment. "The only way we can get past the Bridge Troll is to beat it at its game or try to overpower it. But unfortunately, only a few of us have the power to overpower it. The reason I advise against that is because it could create such destruction that might destroy the tracks below us," Chuck explained.

"Yeah, we need that train, right?" Lee said, looking at the huge beast. Clementine asked, trying to sound firm, but her legs were shaking.

"I guess we have no choice. We'll have to play its game," Lee said.

"Are you f****** serious?" Kenny asked.

"You know it, pal. Fine, you got us this far, and my son is alive because of you, so I will take your approach. Why not?" Kenny said.

This cued Naruto, who was witnessing this entire conversation, to walk up to the troll. Emily quickly grabbed his hand for a moment, concern in her eyes and a blush on her cheeks.

"Please be careful. I don't want to see you hurt," she said, her hand trembling with worry.

Naruto put his other hand on hers and gave her one reassuring smile, reassuring her at least a little bit.

"Don't worry, how am I not careful?" Naruto said.

Emily just sighed. "I can name a few times when you weren't."

"I can't believe you have no faith in me. We've been friends for—you know how long?" Naruto said dramatically.

"We've only been friends for like three months and two weeks, maybe even more than that," Emily said, not impressed.

Despite that, Naruto walked up to the troll. "Yo, Mr. Troll, or whatever you're called, can me and my friends pass?" Naruto asked.

The troll squinted at Naruto, analyzing every feature of his tiny body. He smirked. "Yes, you can pass, but you have to play my game first," the troll spoke disgustingly. Naruto cringed. His breath stunk. Naruto couldn't describe it exactly, but it stank. He tried not to throw up, but it was very tempting right now. The troll smelled terrible, like a mix of s*** and death and something else.

"Man, have you ever heard of a mint?" Naruto asked, waving his hand near his nose to try to wave away the smell.

This made the troll smirk even wider, revealing his sharp yellow teeth. He didn't know what dental hygiene was. Honestly, Naruto wasn't keeping up with his dental hygiene, which was pretty sad for him to admit. Sakura was probably yelling at him right now to brush his teeth because his breath stinks, Naruto thought.

"Hello, man, focus. This is not the time to daydream," Doxie said.

"Right, right. But first, I'm going to need some leverage to make sure you guys play properly," the beast said.

Naruto felt something was wrong, like something really bad was going to happen, and he was right. The monster lifted his right arm, and pure power radiated from it. It was a lime-green color. It then started shooting out. Naruto dodged the beam that was coming right for him, but the others weren't so lucky. They started falling to the ground—Lee, Kenny, Lily, Carly, Clementine, Duck, and even Chuck. The only ones that weren't falling to the ground were himself, Emily, and Travis, who was pushed out of the way by Ben.

"What the hell's going on?" Naruto yelled.

"It looks like their souls were taken towards this monster, and they turned into a bead on an armband. It was on his left hand, to be more specific," Naruto said, unsure of what to do at this point. Neither did Doxie, his mother, or his father.

Travis POV

Travis fell to the ground, completely confused about what had just happened. He was thinking to himself but did not know what happened—Ben pushed him out of the way, leaving Ben to meet his fate. Travis quickly got up, seeing Ben's lifeless body. "No!" he yelled, trying to shake Ben's body awake. Everyone else seemed to look dead as well, which angered Travis. He was about to use his power to attack the troll but was stopped by Emily.

"Travis, you have to calm down," the young girl advised him.

"Why? This bastard killed everyone!" Travis yelled, trying to shake her off.

"No, he didn't. He just contained them in his bead necklace. I think he just contained their souls or something," Emily explained.

Travis understood what was going on when she said this, and his abrupt struggling ceased, giving Emily time to throw him to the ground. His back flared up in pain.

"Why did you do that for?" he was about to say, but Naruto cut him off, saying the same thing he was going to.

"Sorry, I couldn't control my strength at that moment," Emily said, embarrassed.

Travis, now more calm, got up from the ground. "Alright, troll, why did you take our friends' souls? And if you don't give us a good enough answer, I swear I'll make it my mission to make you suffer," Travis said darkly, making both Naruto and Emily shiver. They were surprised by his darkness.

The beast just smirked once more. "I told you, I needed some leverage for this game to work effectively," the troll said calmly.

"Alright, what's the game that we're supposed to play?" Naruto asked, wanting to get this done and over with as quickly as possible.

The troll stood up, lifting his mace so it lay lazily on his left shoulder. With his right hand, he pointed to a train station close by. "Two people have been hassling me for a few weeks. I would like you three to take them out," the troll said, emphasizing his point by making a slicing motion across his neck.

Travis understood what the troll wanted and was conflicted, but he agreed nonetheless. The others also agreed. "Excellent, excellent response. I will see you when the job is done, or I won't see you, in which case I'll get another three of you to do it," the troll said, making all three of them stop for a moment.

Travis was angry, of course, but he knew he must keep the others under control, especially Naruto. Travis knew that Naruto could destroy this beast without any effort, but it would require so much destructive power that it might destroy the tracks. Plus, if they just needed to kill two people to get past, that also posed another host of problems, mostly moral ones. But that was a price they would all have to pay eventually.

The three kept walking, not saying a word to the troll. They got to the train station and started walking around, looking for a door. After a few minutes, they finally found one, but nobody was going to knock. Not yet, at least—they needed to make a plan first and decide their approach.

"So, what do you think we should do, guys?" Naruto asked, unsure if they should do this peacefully or just use a Rasengan to blast down the door.

"I'm cool with whatever we try to do, but I would prefer us doing it without killing people. We're not sure these people are innocent," Emily said.

Travis agreed with that notion. He wasn't quite sure if this troll was on the right side—they could just be killing hunters trying to kill that thing, which was probably the most likely situation. "I think we should knock first, and if they attack us, well, then I guess we have no choice," Travis said reasonably.

Naruto and Emily had no problems with the idea. Travis knocked on the white, boarded-up door. "Hello, is anyone in there?" he yelled, trying to make his yell less threatening.

A few moments passed, and nothing happened. Travis was going to knock again, but then the door opened just a crack. They saw a woman's face. She was dark-skinned and had a glare, but the glare quickly subsided when she saw Naruto, Emily, and Travis.

"What brings you kids here? Was it that troll?" the unknown woman asked anger in her voice but not directed at them specifically.

"Christa, who's talking? They sound like children," a man's voice said. It was softer than the woman's.

"Shut up, hun! Don't say our names—we don't know who these people are," Christa scolded.

"You must be the people we're here to try to kill," Travis said awkwardly, making Christa tense up.

"I knew it. It was that damn f****** troll. He knew he couldn't kill us on his own, so he had you guys do his dirty work. Probably has some of your friends captive, am I right?" Christa asked, waiting for their answer.

"Yeah, you hit the nail on the head. That's exactly why we're here," Emily said nervously.

Christa sighed and opened the door wider. They were able to see the other person, who was indeed a man. Travis thought he looked more Persian in ethnic terms. He gave them all a warm smile. This man seemed non-threatening. Both of them seemed very normal—they weren't monsters or anything like that unless they were using some illusion.

"Holy s***, are you guys a bunch of kids?" the man said, surprised but with an angry voice, again not directed at them specifically. It was probably directed at the troll.

"Hey, we may be children, but me and my friend here are probably some of the strongest people you'll ever meet," Emily boasted, the other friend being Naruto. Travis was left out of the loop, which he didn't care about right now.

"So, can we come in, or are we just going to stand here?" Travis asked, not wanting to be rude but feeling very unnerved outside.

"Of course, come in, come in quickly," the unknown man quickly said, beckoning them inside, and they quickly closed the door behind them.

Emily's POV

"Here, take these," the man, now known as Omid, said, giving each of them a bottle of water and an energy bar. Emily didn't know how to go about the situation—they were supposed to kill these people, even though it seemed crazy to her. Now, they were just sitting down, drinking water, and eating a candy bar with them.

"Alright, you three, explain the situation," Christa said. "And don't leave anything out," she added.

Travis told them everything they had been through so far. Both Christa and Omid were shocked.

"Holy s***, I'm so sorry," Omid said. "So let me get this straight: One of you guys is from a different reality, another was part of a cannibal family," Emily cringed at that comment, and Christa quickly softened her gaze, "and the oldest one has the most normal story—you were just found by their group and helped out. Did I get this all straight so far?" Christa asked.

"Oh yeah, that should be everything," Travis said. He knew, as well as Emily, that what they were saying sounded crazy, but after the things they had seen, even those events seemed normal in comparison.

"Wow, that is some pretty messed up s***, but pretty cool s***, not gonna lie," Omid said.

"I wouldn't say it's cool, but on the other hand, it is kind of cool when you think about it," Naruto said, agreeing with Omid.

Emily gave Naruto a 'what the f***' look and Naruto quickly went quiet when he saw her gaze.

"To be honest with you two," Christa said, looking at both Travis and Emily, making her tense up and a bead of sweat trickle down her neck, "I don't want to do this any more than you three. I want to kill that f****** beast near that f****** bridge as much as you guys do."

Emily did notice something about Christa. She was acting weird and clutching her stomach protectively. Emily couldn't help but wonder what it was, but at the same time, she didn't know. It was weird, and it seemed like the others didn't notice it.

"I don't want to kill you guys either, but that troll is a flipping prick, and I'm not quite sure what we can do," Travis said, placing his head in his palms.

"Yeah, we're quite in a pickle right now. I could easily destroy that troll; we just need to get him off the tracks so I don't accidentally destroy the bridge or the tracks themselves," Naruto said.

That's when Emily got an idea, and it looked like Christa had the same idea as her. "You guys weren't shocked about mana when we told you about it. Does that mean you have your own abilities?" Emily quickly asked. This might be their best bet, their best plan.

Christa sighed. "Yeah, we do. It's really nothing special, though." As she spoke, everything in the room started floating. "It's just telekinesis." She was able to lift everything in the room; she might have been able to lift a building itself.

"That's weak to you? That is so strong!" Emily said, stars in her eyes. Naruto and Travis were a little envious.

"My ability is even cooler than hers. I can stop time for five seconds." Omid then disappeared, and everyone's drinks and energy bars were gone. Omid had them in his hands. "That was just in a five-second time span. I'm not sure if I can increase the time, but if I can, I would become unstoppable," Omid said, striking a Superman pose.

"You can literally stop time itself? That is so amazing!" Naruto said.

Emily started thinking. If they could use all their abilities and work together, they could probably lure the troll away and then decimate him. Emily showed off her power, which was a shield and sword, and Travis showed his super speed ability. Naruto didn't have one—not yet.

Omid got some scratch paper and started drawing a map of the area. "Alright, I think our plan should be this," he said, but the entire paper was just scribbles and illegible stuff.

"I don't know what that is. Is that a dog? Or a faulty house?" Emily heard everyone trying to figure out what it was.

Omid sighed. "Nobody appreciates my art. I'm a good artist," he said.

"Hun, just let me do it," Christa said. She laid out the plan. This was the most detailed plan Emily had ever seen.

(Flashback)

Naruto POV

Naruto wanted to know what was happening, so he did something he rarely did: he said nothing and listened. He moved to the front to truly understand what was happening. Lee was the one speaking.

"Alright, everyone, you're probably wondering why we're going to stop this train for three days," Lee began, pausing to gauge everyone's reactions. Some people were intrigued; others were confused and annoyed. Naruto couldn't help but smirk. He had no idea what was going on either, but the anticipation of what Lee was saying was getting to him. Naruto then noticed Chuck was also at the front.

"Chuck has given me good points, and we both feel we are not quite ready to journey forth to Savannah. So, we're going to do a few things. Each day, I want your full cooperation. You guys might not like it, but this is mandatory, and I'm saying this as your leader," Lee said with an authoritative tone.

To Naruto, it seemed like nobody had any problems with this arrangement, or at least nobody spoke up. Lee continued, "During these three days, we will train, tidy up, and plan what we're going to do when we get to Savannah. To be honest—sorry, Kenny—the boat plan isn't realistic now because there's so many people here."

Lee's apology prompted Kenny to respond, "Don't apologize, pal. I realized as we were traveling that plan was never going to work with all the people we have. Even if we had a six-footer, we wouldn't be able to fit everyone. Maybe if we had a huge fishing boat, we could do it. But who knows if we'll find one? Maybe we'll get lucky. I'm just not going to bet my son's life on this plan, so I hope we can think of something else."

Everyone was quite surprised. They thought Kenny would put up a fuss, but perhaps the man had changed. Lee was very happy to hear this.

It was settled. On the first day, everyone started their basic mana training. On the second day, they tidied up and accelerated their training as they got used to it. On the last day, they began planning what they were going to do.

After Lee spoke to everyone, he took Kenny and Duck aside, knowing Duck would need to be trained by Chuck personally and they needed to figure out how to help him control his werewolf urges. Naruto wanted to help but wasn't sure what to do, so he asked Doxie for advice. He went into his mindscape, where the girl was drinking tea and watching what he was seeing like a television screen.

"You came back for advice?" she said, amused.

"Yeah. Is there any way I can help Duck?" Naruto asked. He was willing to do anything to be of help.

Doxie thought for a moment. "I'm not quite sure. Maybe seal jutsu might have the answer. But unfortunately, I am the least experienced in that field. Why do you think I would be stuck in here if I was proficient in the art?" she answered sarcastically.

"Oh, that makes a whole lot of sense actually. My damn clan was proficient in it. That might be your highest proficiency and the other art that I'm not proficient in as well," Naruto mused.

"Your father was quite good at it. He was able to—" Doxie winced, clutching her stomach.

"Are you okay?" Naruto asked, moving towards her.

Doxie put up her hand. "No, I'm okay. Every time I think about that, my stomach just hurts. Your father could create such a powerful Rasengan."

"You knew my parents?" Naruto asked, surprised. "Can you tell me about them?" He was getting excited. He had never known his parents, and nobody ever told him who they were. If Doxie knew, it would give him some closure.

"Oh s***, I shouldn't have told you that," she whispered to herself.

"What are you mumbling about?" Naruto asked, not quite hearing her but thinking she might be insulting him.

"It's nothing your little human brain would even understand. But if you really want to know who your parents were, I guess it would be easier for them to tell you that themselves. To do that, you would have to find my seal and pull it off," Doxie said with a devious glint in her eyes and a foxy smirk.

"Do you really think I'm that dumb? If I take off the seal, you're just going to come out of me and I'm going to die, isn't that how it works?" Naruto said, annoyed.

"That's how it used to work, but after we came to this world, everything changed. I'm not quite your jinchuriki anymore, and you're not a jinchuriki either. We're like one being now, not quite sealed in you. It's like we're a vestige of your own power, but we're sentient at the same time," Doxie said seriously. "I think the reason we're not synchronizing is because of that seal blocking our connection."

"Alright, where is the seal then?" Naruto asked, wanting to get this done.

"That's the thing. I don't quite remember. Of all the places I've checked, it's not there anymore. I know it's somewhere in this room," she gestured to the living room they were in, "but it must be here because I don't think it's outside."

She walked over to a chair and sat down, pouring herself another cup of tea. "I suggest you get started now," Doxie said.

"Stupid woman, having to make me do everything for you," Naruto mumbled. He started looking around the living room, under the couch, under the table, and behind the TV. Eventually, he found it under one of the couch cushions. The seal was very complex. He was able to rip it off, but then the paper glowed, the kanji glowed, and it created a portal, sucking Naruto inside.

"What the f***?" Naruto yelled.

Doxie laughed. She knew this would happen. She didn't exactly know how he would react, but she knew that seal was a portal transportation seal. That was the seal she was sealed with. The Fourth Hokage had also laid it with a transportation seal. "He's probably talking to them right now," Doxie thought to herself. She didn't know two other rooms were now created. "I wonder what this could mean. I wonder if I'm going to have company. That's going to be fun," Doxie kept thinking, smiling to herself. It was getting lonely here.
