Every since their encounter with the being from the 5th dimension, Lincoln and Lucy decided to work on upping their game so that they're better prepared for sudden attacks like that. They got lucky, but they needed to do more.
As of now, Starfire was putting them on a training regiment which she was seeing to personally.
"Stay focused, you two." Their mentor ordered as she shot her lasers at them at high speed. The two Kryptonian Hybrids were doing their best to dodge, moving at their full speed, almost in blurs, but they were only just able to avoid the upcoming blasts. Lincoln then advanced up on Starfire, engaging her in hand-to-hand combat, finding them equally matched in strength, but not in agility as Starfire easily got the upper hand in making the right moves, ceasing the right moment to attack and sending him back down to the ground. But not before Lucy came up and fired her own eye beams at the Tamaranean, who quickly dodged herself.
Starfire merely smirked before shooting at her lasers, matching Lucy's accuracy as their beams collided. However, Starfire's still proved the stronger course of energy as she managed to push back Lucy's heat vision and send her back to the ground, alongside her brother. Seeing how easily she defeated the kin of Superman, she shook her head in amusement and floated back down to see how they were.
"Well, at least you're progressing." She said, trying to sound chipper about the results.
Lincoln sat up, rubbing his head with his hand as he said "If you can call getting our butts handed to us 'progress'. We managed to take on Black Manta, the Junior Legion of Demon and Mr. Mixel..spit-lick? Whatever his name was, and yet, we still can't keep up with you."
Starfire offered Lincoln a hand, helping to bring him back up on his feet.
"You're getting there. I just know it." She said before helping Lucy up. "In tight situations, you might not even have the powers that you possess. There is no full way of being prepared for every battle. This, I know from experience as I had to go through many trials and forms of evolution to rightfully earn the abilities I have at my disposal. And from time to time, even they were rendered useless."
"What do you mean?" Lucy asked.
"You must understand that no one is invincible. Everyone has a weakness. But that can be worked around if you have the strength to overcome them. Even when you are at your weakest, you can still find a way to be more than just your powers."
Lincoln and Lucy were taking the moment to process all of that. They were not fully sure what it meant, but they had a feeling that they might someday soon. But they couldn't understand it fully at the moment as an alert sounded out all around the tower, and the New Titans gathered in the Main Ops room to see what the emergency was. And it just so happened to be in Royal Woods...again.
"It appears that there is a disturbance happening at a terribly named Amusement Park called DairyLand." Damian stated, but what he said just irked Lincoln.
"Terrible?!" The boy shouted. "I'll have you know that Dairyland is a respectable, well-franchised, amusement park chain that has a high rating for joy and excitement!"
Damian gave Lincoln a deadpan expression as he replied "As if I care for a place such as that. I'm only stating the obvious about the name."
"It is appropriately named!" Lincoln yelled back, both boys now glaring at each other.
"Guys. Time and place!" Ronnie Anne got in between the two of them, activating her scarab in case this was gonna get messy.
"Now is not the time to squabble over each other!" Starfire stated, getting everyone's attention. "You have a mission complete. Titans, Go!"
And with that, the entire team left the building, save for Starfire who said to herself. "Huh...Now, I know why Dick loves saying that so much. It's pretty fun."
Dairyland was currently being attacked and demolished by the Junior Legion of Doom. They were destroying all the rides, getting people hurt or captured, and turning the whole park into one ginormous death trap. Chandler was watching the process from his mechanized suit as the Joker's Kid was having a blast with rounding up any innocent hostages that were unlucky enough to stick around
"Never liked the cow theme of this place." Chandler said. "When we're done here, this place will definitely be an eyecatcher! People will just love the work we're doing around here!" He then turned to Sphinx. "How are we looking on our little surprise?"
"It's right on the final stages, McCann." The niece of Riddler replied. "We'll be giving this park its greatest attraction yet."
"Good." He then hears something and looks to see a hovercraft coming in the distance. He had a feeling he knew what it was if the giant "T" symbol on the side was anything to go by. "...Right on time. They're here! Everyone into position!"
The T-Ship landed itself outside the park, and the Titans got out to see pillars of smoking rising up inside. On the sign, crudely painted over it was the word "DOOM", now spelling it out "DOOMLand". Half of them were unamused while the rest were starting to have a bad feeling about all this.
"I'm already starting to hate what they've done with the place." Lincoln remarked. "And we're not even inside yet!"
"Given how reckless Chandler can be, along with those three juvenile psychopaths, I can already sense the destruction they brought along this once belove place." Haiku said.
Robin then stated "Poetic, but time wasting. Come, let's get this done."
And with that, they all headed in, soon finding themselves surrounded by the horror and destruction that was one of the most exciting places in Royal Woods, a place that Lincoln and Lucy very much went to when they had the chance.
"Chandler and his little gang of miscreants will pay for this." Lucy practically growled, her powers manifesting with the dust seeming to hover off the ground.
Donna held up a Titan Communicator and looked into it, seeing a blinking red light up north from where they were. "Scanner shows that they're just up ahead, in the center of the biggest ride in this park."
And with that, the Titans made their way through the destroyed park until they saw Chandler in his new mechanized suit, looking as smug as ever as he laid back in a chair while staring down at his enemies.
"Chandler! You're gonna pay for what you did to Dairyland!" Lincoln yelled, clenching his fist.
"Don't be such a downer, Larry! We're just making this place than before!" Chandler yelled back. "So long, stupid cow land! Hello Doom World! The world's first villain theme amusement park!"
"No one except anarchists and degenerates would ever think of this as an Amusement Park!" Donna replied.
Ronnie Anne as the Blue Beetle stepped forward, saying "You know, you were always a jerk Chandler! But you were never this crazy and evil!"
"This is the weirdo who you had to deal with while living here?" Sid asked, leaning by Ronnie Anne's side.
"I wish I never knew him to begin with."
Chandler looked at Ronnie Anne with a smile of attractiveness on his face, admiring the armor she wore.
"Gotta admit, Santiago, that's a nice suit you're wearing, but you're using it for the wrong purposes." He yelled out to her. "Why don't you ditch these losers and join my merry band? I can assure that you will have a nice place in our new world!"
"No way in heck, McCann!" Furiously, she pulled out her arm cannon and fired at Chandler, only for a protective shield to show up around the son of Luthor, who looked disappointed at her.
"That's too bad. Cause I already got a suit like yours...only better."
"Enough, Chandler! We're taking you in!" Lincoln stated, pointing to his rival.
"Oh, I don't think you're taking me anywhere, Larry! But you, on the other hand, will be taken down! Once you and your freaky sister are hit with this!"
From his mech's arm, he fired something red and glowing. It turned out to be a piece of Kryptonite, Red Kryptonite, and it landed before Lincoln and Lucy, where the glow overtook them. While they knew they were immune to Green Kryptonite, other forms of the stuff would bring different results. While not physically weakened, they could feel as if pounds were being pushed on their brains, having them feel intoxicated as Lincoln and Lucy drowsily lost their footing and their vision blurred as they could barely stand on their own feet. Red Kryptonite is known for having greater effects than Green Kryptonite, but none of the Titans were prepared for this, shocked to see when Lincoln collapsed then and there.
Chandler laughs, knowing that the plan is working properly.
"Well, that takes care of those two heavy hitters." He said. "JJ, Rosy! Show these chumps the newest attraction! Sphinx, ready the grand finale."
And that is when the clown and the little flower showed up and dropped a whole lot of crates around the Titans. Crates that opened to reveal Luthor Robots, courtesy of Chandler's aunt, Lena. And with that, the Titans now had their hands full with a whole horde of robots, with the children of Joker keep dropping in more. They were merely meant to be cannon fodder as the main threat was Chandler, who amped up his suit and had Blue Beetle come at him. She and Sid were dodging energy blasts coming their way, and even say JJ and Rosy trying to intercept them on parts of Roller Coaster rails, but they were hardly an inconvenience as Ronnie Anne slammed into Chandler's mech. A clash of machinery went out, to who had the superior war machine. And though industrial in strength, Chandler's mech didn't even hold a candle to the power of the scarab as he found himself blasted off his feet and Ronnie Anne was able to break through his shield with her wrist blade.
"What did you do to Lincoln and Lucy?" She threatened Chandler at sword point.
The son of Luthor merely smirked before answering "Just a little gift from my dad. He told me to test it, and that's when I did."
Ronnie Anne was ready to ram the blade through this jerk's head, but Sid held her back from doing what she would regret.
"What's this grand finale you talked about?" Sid asked.
"Oh, it's just over there!" Chandler pointed to something standing over the edge of the coaster, while barely covered by a sheet, they could make up the with giant pinchers and claws that were clinging to the rails as they could see it was something big. Really big. "My girl, Sphinx, has been working hard on it all day. Just for you goody-goodies, and especially Larry and his little goth girl."
He was about to laugh it up when Ronnie Anne shifted her hand into her mace and knocked him out with it. Once he was down, they two of them headed over to see what was under that sheet. But they were not ready to see it rise above their heads, to see that it was much bigger than the coaster and it looked to have been made with parts of the amusement park itself. To Ronnie Anne and Sid, it could safely be described as...a giant, crab/octopus-like, mechanized robot, and Sphinx was in the control pod.
"Can you believe that this was a scrapped attractive they were gonna send to Vegas?" The niece of Riddler taunted to the two young heroes. "I had it set back up, just for you guys!"
And at the push of a button, the robot released a barrage of a couple dozen missiles, heading straight for Ronnie Anne and Sid, who couldn't believe.
"Aw, give us a break."
Back with the rest of the Titans, they had just about finished off the majority of robots sent there and even managed to make short work of the Clown's kin. As all this had happened, Lucy crawled her way to the piece of Red Kryptonite, dangerous as that may have been for her, she held on long enough to grab the small rock and through it away from her and her brother. Unfortunately, the effects were already set and now both Kryptonians were extremely weak at this point. Damian, Donna, and Haiku circled back to see how they were doing.
"We need to get them out of here." Donna stated. "Where's Sid and Ronnie Anne."
And that is when the sound of Ronnie Anne screaming could be heard in the distance until they looked to see the smoking Blue Beetle crash landing into a nearby stand Sid followed suit, landing on her face next to the remaining Titans as they looked to see Sphinx's robot climbing over the destroyed coaster towards them.
"I'm about to give you all the ride of a lifetime!" Sphinx screamed as she used the two front claws of the robot and slammed them into the ground, making the Titans disperse. Damian threw explosive shurikens at the arms of the mech while Haiku used a hydraulic cutter attack to slice through the armored plating. Donna then jumped up, looking to punch the pod of the robot, only to meet another claw, holding a piece of machinery, which she used to slap the Amazon away from her. Spotting the weak Lincoln and Lucy on the ground, Sphinx smiled sinisterly, as she brought the pod closer to them both, pushing another button as the pod opened its mouth, spewing fire at them both. But, before they were consumed by the fire, a cheetah swiped in and saved them, and that Cheetah happened to have been Sid, bringing them out of danger with her animal shape-shifting. All the while, Ronnie Anne had managed to recover from the crash and did what Donna wasn't able to do, slamming a huge piston-like appendage into the hull of the robot's pod. Sphinx nearly fell out but kept her balance long enough to maintain control.
"I am not losing here!" She yelled. "It took me hours to get this thing active and I will not-"
But she didn't get a chance to finish as a grappling hook took hold of her and pulled her out of the robot's driver seat, all thanks to Robin. Sphinx hit the ground hard and she looked to see Damian tower over her, and she chuckled nervously.
"You wannabes are finished." he said.
Sphinx could only smirk as she pulled out a button. "Maybe so, but we're not finished yet." And then, she pressed it.
The pod, which was right above their heads, suddenly came crashing down and would've crushed Robin then and there...only for something to come quickly and push him out of the way, having the pod only come down on Sphinx.
Damian recovered from the whiplash he just experienced and looked to see that it was Lincoln who saved his life. The white-haired boy was breathing heavily, looking at the son of Batman, smiling weakly before collapsing in front of him. Damian caught the boy in his arms, and the rest of the Titans came by to reunite with him, Donna carrying Lucy in her arms.
"Let's get them home." She said, and Damian nodded.
The Local Authorities helped free any captives that were still in the Park. Yet, the Junior Legion of Doom was nowhere to be seen. While it might take some time for the park to be rebuilt if ever, at least the town was safe again.
