Fox and Krystal discover a mysterious girl who had been kidnapped by the criminal they had been pursuing, having been missing for three years. Overjoyed at the sight of rescue, the girl soon develops romantic interests in one of her rescuers, and much to the vulpine couple's surprise, it is Krystal she becomes smitten with. Can Krystal help her new friend recover from her trauma?

After retiring in the wake of the Elysian Assault, Fox and Krystal have tried their best to forget the horrors of their past. However, Fox's injuries and the McClouds' tenuous financial situation have made raising their son an arduous task. Krystal is forced to go to extreme lengths to keep her family afloat, and the McCloud family discovers a sinister conspiracy.

The Aparoid Wars are over, and the Lylat System is recovering. Team Star Fox receives a distress call from just beyond the edge of the Lylat System. What starts as a rescue mission soon becomes something much more than the team anticipated. Fox McCloud soon finds himself contending with horrors beyond imagination, and it will take all his wits and courage just to survive.
