I should part my lips from hers, but the taste is sweet, sweeter then honey even. She pulls back, eyes locked on mine. "I will save you, and I will never abandon you," she tells me, squeezing my hand stressing the word "abandon".

When was I abandoned? My mind struggles to think of memories, but a river of sleepy fog rolls in. "Will you do something for me?" she asks. I nod, watching. "Will you wear my Lucky Charm?" Once again, I nod, and she slips it onto my wrist. "Good night, Kitten."

I watch until she leaves the bigger cave and curl up by the warm fire, admiring my bracelet in the firelight. A red string holds several beads, one square-shaped and has a distinct four leaf clover pattern.

My eyes grow sleepy as the fire acts like a warm blanket and my eyes go to half-mast, then drift shut, sailing away on a sea of memories store in the blackness of my subconsciousness.

Pink walls surround me and beeping sounds come from the computer. I roll back and slump in my chair as Marinette claims another victory. "Your amazing, Marinette. In fact, you don't even need me."

"No, no. Your too good, I mean. Can you keep a secret?" she whispers, and I perk up, leaning in close. She pulls out a strand of beads in a bracelet and holds it out to me. "Try playing a game with this," she says. I pick up the bracelet, my fingertips grazing her hand, and she flushes pink.

It works, and she insists I keep it. Later that night, as I look at it, I'll always think of the day afternoon we shared and Marinette. My Marinette Lucky Charm.

My eyes flicker open as I hear a soft sound, but my internal clock tells me its far from morning. My eyes first flick to the girl who kissed me earlier. Is she crying? I no longer feel afraid of her, only afraid what I don't know and what I might say next.

"Hey, are you okay?" I gently tap her shoulder, and she squeaks, whirling around. "Adrien! I thought you were asleep," tears trickle down her cheeks. "My name is….Adrien?" she nods. "Or Cat, or at times I call you Kitty." Adrien. Okay. "And your name is…." My mind is so filled with fog, but it clears slightly as I look down at my bracelet. "You gave me this bracelet," I whisper, and she nods. "Your name is Marinette." she nods. "Marinette, could you tell me why your crying?"

"Because I dreamed about when your father pulled us away from each other and you weren't sent to London. I was so scared I wouldn't see you again."

A memory pops up, clear as day. Father, strict and stoned-face, ordering my Princess away. I remember then…..

I gently take her hand, crawling close. "You asked to try something earlier. Will you let me try something now?" she nods.

I lick away her tears, liking the salty tears, but not liking she is pain. She sighs happily, pulling me close, and I continue, like an actual cat purring on their owner's lap and comforting them. "Cat," she breathes and I find her lips, so right do they feel against my own.

Soon she grows sleepy, and I make sure she's asleep before heading back to the fire. Marinette is soft and gentle and good. So, if she didn't cause this confusion, then who did?

Marinette is dressed differently when I wake in the morning, but she looks beautiful. She must have washed her hair as it cascades down her back, and dries it the best she can, tying it into two cute little bunches.

"Your so beautiful," I blurt out, and Marinette stills. "Hey, sleepy." she plops down beside me, ruffling her fingers through my hair, and I feel a jolt like a electric current. My love laungue has always been physical touch. "Could we um, cuddle?" she nods, and lies down, and I slip a arm around her waist, pulling her close breathing in her soft scent. After awhile, she rolls over and we look at each other. She fumbles, reaching into her pocket and pulling out a small picture of us kissing.

"Do you remember this?" A memory it struggles to the surface. "Its foggy, but just looking at it makes me happy." she giggles. "It was the first time we kissed each other. Only, after the akuma was purified, we didn't remember it. One of my friends got the kiss on camera, and you were thrilled." I touch her cheek. "Oh, and do I detect you weren't at the time?" "I was in love with someone else at the time, which still turns out it was you!" I smirk. "And they say black cats only have bad luck."

Marinette sits up. "I should make you breakfast, before you start yowling at your food bowl." Marinette makes a stewed stew with berries, and I hold out my bowl for seconds. "I can see you enjoy it, from the berry smear across your face," she laughs, wiping my face clean.

After breakfast, we play more "Do Remember This?" game. "Sorry, everything is just so foggy."

"Do you remember him?" Marinette flips open a small notebook, and I gasp. Its a perfect detailed drawing of a white cat with blue eyes as Marinette stares at me, frightened but yet I can still see she loves me.

"Even though you were a villain, you kept saying you loved me, and I wasn't going to give up." "What would have happened if I stayed like that?" I look at the dystopian scene around us, the scene coming alive in memory.

A film of tears shines in her eyes. "I will always love you, and we would have made it work. Just you and I, making our own world out of nothing."

Haven't I always lived that way, after Mother died? The world was bleak and empty, until Marinette came into my life. And my M'lady.

"Your my world and my home," I find her lips, tangling my hands through her hair. And as my lips press against hers, the world turning pink, my empty heart and memories are restored.
