Krillin takes a stance and charges towards Jackie with a yell. He lets out a few punches and a flurry of kicks only for Jackie to dodge them. He sends out another punch which gets blocked, "You're pretty good, to make me put my hand out." Jackie told Krillin.
The two jump back and Jackie takes his stance, "Now, then..." Krillin looks confused until Jackie appears in front of them and sends him flying and crashing into the wall with a flick of his wrist.
The trio of fighters each had an expression of surprise along with their friend in the ring.
"H-His punch." Krillin stuttered. "I-I didn't see it... at all..." Krillin felt blood rushing towards his face. His forehead burned from hitting the brick wall. "What an incredible punch."
"What are you saying?!"
Krillin looked above, hearing Goku speaking over his head. His vision blurred for a second, which must've been from the hit before he saw the image of one of his spiky-haired friends.
"Watch closely! I saw it!" Goku saw it he knew Natsu would've picked up on that too. Yamcha might not have seen it though; Goku thinks that perhaps it was Master Roshi's training that helped them develop their skills better.
"R-really?" Krillin mutters trying to sit up.
"You trained didn't you?" Goku asks
Natsu appeared beside his friend, wincing at Krillin's wounds. They weren't life-threatening but the scent of blood had him wrinkling his nose. "Krillin," he mutters to him. "You heard the man you've got this!"
"Right." Krillin wiped the blood away before walking back to the center. 'They're right. If Goku was able to see that punch, I should be able to see it too.' He stopped walking a few feet away from his challenger, Jackie Chun. He clenched his fists, holding them by his sides, trying to appear anything but nervous.
Jackie Chun stood with a calm but smug look on his face, "Well look whose back." He got back into his fighting position. "That was a slow punch. Allow me to show you one of my fast ones."
'Either he's bluffing or I'm a goner,' Krillin thought as he crouched down waiting for the attack.
He stared at the fighter with focused eyes, trying to comprehend if what his friend said was true. Could he really see him? Perhaps, but that would mean he was letting his guard down from the beginning. If that was it then he should've realized that Jackie wasn't like any of his previous adversaries, and that would mean that this guy was above his ground level.
"Hoh!" His opponent came at him and this time he could see him. It was fast, yes, but the speed was something he had to get used to during his training with Master Roshi. In fact, he swears this old man's speed rivals his master.
Both jumped high with their fists ready to clash; only they didn't. Krillin, like Jackie, was able to see where the other's aim was heading and able to maneuver their bodies to dodge the hit. They landed on opposite sides of their original space, backs to the other.
"..." No one could really say anything. Each one of them was speechless, the speed both competitors showed wasn't even something their eyesight could detect.
"Way to go Krillin!" Goku cheers. "I knew you could do it Krillin!"
"Yeah!" Krillin agreed excitedly.
"You've done well to see through that." Jackie commended. "It's been a long time since anyone could keep up with my speed.
"O-Of course I can! I am a student of Master Roshi, after all!" Krillin said.
"Well then, how about this...?" Jackie said.
They charge at each other once again, the spectators unable to see what even happened. However, this time Krillin fell over.
"Contestant Krillin has gone down!" Ken announced. "I will begin the count!"
"H-He's not getting up!" Elfman said in worry.
"Maybe he's been knocked out!" Levy said.
"Get up, Krillin!" Natsu shouted. "You're going to lose!"
Krillin was slowly starting to move as Ken counted to 6. "That's it! Now get up!" Goku shouted.
"We'll see if he can get up," Jackie said. Krillin slowly got to his feet before standing up.
"Oh my! He's up!" Ken announced. "Contestant Krillin has risen to his feet!"
"You did it! Great!" Natsu cheered at Krillin who was holding his head in pain.
Jackie chuckled, 'He took all of that, and was still able to get back up, huh? He took his training seriously.
Ken came up to Jackie wanting an explanation of what happened during their last clash.
Everyone paid close attention to Jackie and Krillin telling the story. The two came at each other from their previous spots, Jackie aiming to kick Krillin but Krillin dodged in time and aimed a punch towards his face.
Ken had to help the two reenact their battle and by the end, he exclaims, "You mean all of this happened in that instant!"
"Yup." The two nodded.
"CAN YOU BELIEVE THE INCREDIBLE TALENT OF THESE FIGHTERS?!" The announcer screams out into his microphone. "Yes, this is a match for the ages! Sorry for interrupting the fight, please continue." He rushes off the stage.
Krillin and Jackie Chun jumped away from each other, slowly circling the other like a shark. It was silent apart from their breathing.
He needed a plan, and he needed one now, he couldn't fight him directly. The elder held more experience than him and had more techniques than anyone could imagine. He was clearly at a disadvantage here and needed to work out a way to defeat him without actually fighting him. There was one way...he actually had learned a weakness Jackie Chan had. It became clear to him when he saw him going gaga over the girls in the audience.
Krillin pulls out his secret weapon, reaches inside his shirt, and reveals a pair of lady panties, dropping them on the ground. Jackie Chun reacted just as he wanted him to. Dropping his guard Jackie jumps toward them only for Krillin to kick him off the stage and into the air.
"Contestant Jackie Chun has been launched into the air, what a pathetic way to lose!" Ken announced.
"D-damn! If I fall like this, I'll lose!" Jackie told himself. "It can't be avoided." Jackie cupped his hands together and started charging up a very familiar technique. "Ka…me…ha…me…HA!"
Jackie used the Kamehameha wave to launch himself back into the ring shocking everyone in the audience. "That was a Kamehame-Ha just now, right?" Goku asked.
"You could say that." He answered.
'There's only one person who knows that move other than Goku.' Yamcha thought. 'That means he really is Master Roshi!'
"Goku what should I do?" Krillin said in worry.
"Win! The only thing you can do is win!" He answered, Natsu nodded his head in agreement.
"That doesn't make for any advice, you know!" Krillin got back into his stance but this time he was shaking.
"Now then, this has gone on long enough, and we can't let it interfere with the final round..." Jackie got into a stance. "Shall we end it here?"
"Dammit... At this point, I've got no other choice." Krillin says before running towards Jackie like a wild animal. He intended to headbutt him to slam him into the wall; instead, the elder dodged and made him destroy the wall.
Snickering at the boy Jackie told him, "Glad to see you still using your head. Good work!"
Krillin stood back up, bad idea; his focus became worse, and the pain he felt along with the embarrassment made him spring back into action, "Sh-shut up! Enough already!" His adrenaline rush pushed him forward to attack him, before he could though, Jackie disappeared from his sight.
"Krillin look out! He's coming out from behind you!" He could hear Goku's warning.
"Eh?" Before he could even attempt to turn around Jackie had whipped his hands to the teen's shoulder blades bringing unconditional pain for a moment before he passed out.
Jackie Chun left the scene and the announcer started counting, knowing that Krillin wasn't going to get up for a while.
At ten Natsu was whining. "Aw, Krillin lost."
Krillin was awake and sitting on one of the benches rubbing his shoulder in pain. Goku, Natsu, Yamcha, and even Jackie Chun were all trying to make him feel better over the loss. He felt a bit better after hearing Goku and Natsu told him he did great out there.
The oldest teen thought now was a great time for him to unravel the truth of Jackie Chun, "Yeah he did fight well, extremely well. Considering his opponent was the great Master Roshi!" He's had his suspicion from the moment he lost. There was no way some ordinary old man could beat him without being one of the greatest fighters that ever lived.
"Hm?" Jackie Chun stared at him.
"Eh?" Goku questioned.
"What do you mean? He's Jackie Chun." Krillin told the confused older teenager.
Natsu stared at Yamcha as if he was losing his sanity. "Yamcha are you okay?"
"I'm not blind!" Yamcha knew this was Master Roshi. He just had to find a way for the others to believe him.
"Why do you keep saying that?" Jackie asks him with a raised brow.
Goku thinking like Natsu told his friend, "What are you talking about Yamcha? You know Master Roshi is bald!"
"That does seem to pose a problem doesn't it?" he tells them calmly before grabbing onto the elder's gray hair, snarling out. "Unless it's a wig!"
"Wait! Wh-what are you doing? Let go!" Jackie demands at the younger man. "OW!"
"It's real?!" Yamcha gasps That the hair he thought was a wig, was actually the man's real hair.
"Well of course it's real!"
Yamcha tries to think of an explanation. "I got it now! You had hair this whole time! You've just been trying to cover it up with a bald cap!"
"Who the hell would do that?!" a red-faced, Jackie raises, his head yelling at the seventeen-year-old. "How do we know you're not Master Roshi wearing an ugly mask?!"
"OK, you can say what you want but I know you're him!" He yells back.
The three orange-clad fighters came up to them, wondering if this was going to get bad. Yamcha seems very confused about who Jackie Chun really is.
"That's it! You two," he pointed at his friends. "Your noses should be able to do the trick! Sniff him and find out if he's really Master Roshi or not!"
"Now that you mention it, he is similar... even his voice..." Krillin mutters glancing at the elder closer.
Goku and Natsu took a step closer to the man leaning towards him And taking a few whiffs of the man. "He doesn't smell like Master Roshi," Goku tells them.
Natsu had to agree the guy didn't smell like the turtle shells but he did have a strange scent covering him, "He smells fruity." He says.
Goku nodded. "Like oranges."
Jackie Chun took out a small blue bottle, spraying it a few times. Yamcha exclaims, "Yah what is that, perfume?"
"It's a citrus blend of eau-de-cologne. I am a gentleman, after all." He put it away, glaring up at the annoying teen. "Listen, buster you're pushing my limits. I am who I am. Got it? Now back off!"
"May have your attention please?" Everyone stopped moving, facing the entrance. "The second semifinal match is about to begin! Will Goku and Natsu please report to the arena?"
"Alright, it's finally our turn!" Goku turns to his friend in excitement.
Natsu gave him a toothy grin. "Yeah it sure is," he gave him a fist bump. "Well let's go!" They both walked towards the arena.
Krillin walked up towards Jackie Chun and Yamcha telling them. "I don't really know who to cheer for." They both had to agree with the thirteen-year-old.
The two boys stood at opposite ends staring each other down in excitement. The crowd cheered for who they wanted to win. Even their friends in the crowd didn't know who to cheer for.
"My money's on Goku, Natsu is good and all but Goku is something else," Oolong commented.
"Me too!" Puar added.
"I think Natsu can win this, Goku might be strong but he can't use magic," Lisanna said.
"Maybe but he's weirdly strong without it," Mira told her.
Erza stared at the two boys, "I have to say it's difficult to gauge who will come out on top."
"Yeah, but I think can win this, you saw how he beat that Nam guy," Levy said.
Elfman and Cana tried to think who would win while Gray and Bulma didn't know who to cheer for, Makarov thought about how the match might go about, despite not knowing who would win, this would be a great match.
"As you all know folks these two fighters taught under the same master, will be facing off against each other," Ken announced. "They'll be fighting for their spot to go to the final round facing off against Jackie Chun!"
"You ready Natsu?!" Goku called out.
He observed his friend, he grinned at him. He was crouching lower moving slightly towards his right. "As I'll ever be! You?!"
"Do you even have to ask?" Goku narrowed his eyes, grinning playfully.
Ken hearing this gave the signal to start and the gong was hit.
The crowd held their breath waiting for one of the two kids to throw the first hit. They witnessed both fights in their previous battle and none could predict who was the strongest. The Dragon Slayer had dazzling and powerful magic, but the Monkey Boy had great strength of his own and was unpredictable. It can be anyone's guess on who would win this match.
Goku took a deep breath, a couple of steps back, and then used his tail like a spring to launch himself toward Natsu's direction. If he ran he'd have used more energy than he would've liked, the less energy he uses now the more he'll have later. He knew Natsu grew in strength but he wasn't sure he was stronger, so he had to do his best.
Natsu saw Goku coming at him with his fist ready to deliver his first punch. He moved his right, inches before he came in contact with his face. Goku suspected as much and is quick to give a sweep kick towards his left side followed by a left hook punch. Natsu took a step back avoiding his kick, and raised his left elbow to block his punch.
Goku aims multiple right and left punches towards his upper body. Natsu was able to block a few before one of them hit him square in his cheek.
"It seems Goku is taking the lead in this match folks!" Ken calls out. "It's clear that this little boy is willing to give it his all! Will Natsu retaliate?!"
"What's wrong Natsu? Are you gonna fight back?" Goku asks smugly.
"Oh, you're gonna get it now!" Natsu charges towards him, the two exchanging fists seeming even in strength. Natsu landed a hit to Goku's chest followed by an elbow to his side, knocking him to the ground.
Goku jumped to his feet and started stretching, testing his movements by throwing a few punches in the air along with some kicks. "That hurt, hope you're ready for this!" Goku came attacking him again, each of his punches being dodged or blocked. He aimed at his sides with one of his kicks making him stumble from evading his next moves.
Goku saw an opening and rushed over to deliver another punch knocking Natsu away. Natsu rose to his getting back into his stance, 'Damn looks like I need to get serious!' His fists ignited with flames as he charged Goku again, landing a hard blow to his cheek.
"It seems Natsu has started using his magic once again! That punch must've stung!" Ken announced. Goku holds his face in pain feeling the burn from Natsu's punch. "Ow, ow, ow, that hurt!" He said.
"Heh, I'm not holding anything back anymore." Natsu declared as he punched his hand into his fist. "I'm fired up now!" He continued his assault sending a flurry of fiery punches. Goku was put on the defensive slowly being pushed near the edge of the ring. "Now to finish this, FIRE DRAGON'S TALON!" Natsu lit his foot on fire and delivered a kick to Goku's chest launching him in the air.
"Goku is airborne and it looks like he won't be for much longer!" Ken said. Goku slowly began to descend into the crowd.
"Aw, man I can't use Nimbus so what to do now?" Goku began to think before he had an idea, he cupped his hands together and began saying those magic syllables, "Ka...me...ha...me...HA!" Much like Jackie Chun did Goku propelled himself back into the ring with his attack.
The audience looked on in shock, "N-no way! That's the same thing Jackie Chun did!" Krillin said in shock.
"Hey! That's not fair, I had you!" Natsu said in irritation.
Goku began chuckling, "Sorry Natsu but I'm doing whatever I can to win!" Once again Goku was on the attack exchanging punches with Natsu, this time he was managing to adapt to his fire punches. "Jan Ken! Rock!" Goku's fist collided with Natsu's, and as he winced at the burn he quickly poked Natsu in the eyes. "Scissors! Paper!" Goku prepared a palm strike but despite the pain in Natsu's eyes he narrowly dodged the attack.
"FIRE DRAGON'S WING ATTACK!" Natsu released a stream of fire from his arms and crashed them into his opponent knocking Goku to the ground.
"Goku is down, Natsu's powerful attack definitely left a mark!" Ken announced. "We shall now begin the count!" As Ken started counting Goku slowly started to rise to his feet.
"Still up for more?" Natsu asked.
"Yeah, I'm honestly having fun right now!" Goku answered.
"The fight continues!" Ken says.
"They've both improved a lot, the strength of those two is incredible." Jackie Chun said.
"Yeah, they really have," Krillin said. "I need to do my best to get better."
In the audience the others were impressed by the strength shown on display, they cheered out the names of who they wanted to win. 'Hmm, those two could make astounding Fairy Tail members, Natsu's use of magic is impressive, and Goku himself is remarkable even without it!' Makarov thought.
Every strike the two landed began to wear themselves out. "That's it I'm ending this!" Natsu began gathering his magic an aura of flames surrounded his body as he began preparing his Dragon's Roar.
Goku had a plan to counter this as he prepared his Kamehameha. "Don't think you'll take me down Natsu!" Goku shouted.
"FIRE DRAGON'S ROAR!"
The torrent of flames raged towards Goku as charged his attack, "KAMEHAMEHA!" Goku's energy blast rushed towards the flames, which Goku counted on. The beam hit the fire and parted the flames extinguishing them. Natsu was too tapped out to avoid and was hit dead on being knocked out of the ring.
"A RINGOUT! SON GOKU MOVES TO THE FINAL ROUND!" Ken announces. The crowd roars in cheers.
"That's our Goku!" Oolong calls out clapping with enthusiasm.
Puar did her own back flips in mid-air, clapping with enthusiasm. "Yay, Goku!" The others cheered for the two boys.
"Oww, damn it," Natsu muttered. He looked up and saw Goku offering his hand, and took it. "I guess I lost."
"Hey don't worry about it, I had a great time!" Goku said. Natsu smiled as the two fist-bumped.
Jackie Cun watched intensely at the two on stage. He saw every movement from both; they fought powerfully that is true. What Goku did was remarkable, but if Natsu used a different attack he would've been the one he'd be facing off and not Goku.
Krillin ran off to join his fellow peers congratulating Goku on his win and Natsu for his amazing performance.
"I can't believe how strong that kid's gotten," Yamcha chuckled. "Now I know I wouldn't have stood a chance against him!"
Jackie nodded, "The three of them have accomplished a lot." He'll have to be careful and not underestimate Goku for the next round. It's also good to remember for future times in case he ever faces off against Natsu.
There will be a long break before the tournament commences and the battle between Jackie Chun and Goku will take place. Out of the two only one will win, becoming the Strongest Under The Heavens. Not only will the winner take the title but will also take home five hundred thousand zeni.
To Goku, the money was the least important. He didn't care about the title either. What he really wanted was another battle. He truly enjoyed his last couple of fights. Giran even though he gave up allowed him to show his strength, and Natsu fought him as an equal.
"Man Goku the way you used your Kamehameha to blow away my fire was so cool!" Natsu compliments.
"Thanks, I got the idea from when Master Roshi put out Fire Mountain," Goku explained.
"Aren't you tired?" Krillin asks his younger friend.
"Nope!" He tells him.
If he was going to be honest, the fighting had taken a lot of energy away from him. He actually did feel worn out at first, but after a few minutes the exhaustion wore off and he felt better than before. It's really incredible how after any good fight he'll feel refreshed and ready for another go.
Their conversation changed from him to Master Roshi being Jackie Chun again.
"He does remind me of Master Roshi but I don't know," Goku admitted. There's just something about the old man that would remind anyone of the other.
Whew finally finished this chapter, sorry if the fight between Goku and Natsu seemed short I kind of got lazy trying to finish this chapter since I'm not too great with fight scenes so let me know what you thought about it.
The next chapter marks the end of the 21st Tournament Arc which also means the poll is coming to an end as well. Once again choose who you want Goku to be with:
Erza - 5
Chi-Chi - 4
Erza - 3
Other -3
Anyway that's all I've got I'll try to bring out the next chapter as soon as I can. In the meantime check out my other ongoing story Red Fur.
Ciao!
