Miho and her new friends had just finished their little dessert when class started back up. The teacher was going over the student handbook and the elements in it. Suddenly an announcement comes over the PA system, "attention all students, please report to the gymnasium."
As the students assemble at the gym, Miho looks at her two new friends and wonders out loud, "Do you think this is the first of the elective selection process?"
"Maybe," Hana answered.
They soon saw Principal Granger as he stepped to a podium and spoke, "alright everyone settle down." As everyone quieted down, he continued on, "now as you all should know, our elective courses are mainly split between career prep and military prep. Today we will explore the military prep being offered this year. First, we will start with my personal favorite, our own modern knights, the armored corps."
As the lights began to dim and an overhead projector began to display something, Miho couldn't help but blush since she had a good idea about what would be played. Hana and Saori noticed her sudden embarrassment. Saori asked, "what are you getting flustered about Miho?"
As if to answer her question a video began to play, turning to face the video, Saori and Hana soon saw Miho wearing a military-like uniform and speaking, "Greetings, I'm Miho Mcneil, the commander of the armored corps here at the global defense academy. As warfare on the ground has continued to change and evolve with the introduction of the tank, we here at the armored corps hope to train people in all the important concepts of armored warfare. Here we enjoy nearly all the fruits our technology has brought, from tanks that can fire rounds as fast as sound and tanks that fire beams of light instead of solid projectiles. But the armored corps isn't just about knowing the material aspects, we also hope to instill a sense of camaraderie and friendship, they say the knights in shining armor faded away centuries ago but we say no, we still ride with honor, bravery, confidence in ourselves, and most importantly faith and trust in our friends and comrades both on and off the field. So come on down and join us, your noble steed is ready and waiting for you."
As soon as the video ended, the crowd made shocked oohs and ahhs, cheering, even applauding including Hana and Saori. Miho didn't watch at all, her face was buried in her arms trying to hide her embarrassment. When she lifted her head to look at her friends, her cheeks were as red as raw meat. "What've you got to be embarrassed for Miporin, you were amazing," Saroi complimented.
"Uh thanks, though I don't think I was that good up there," Miho thanked sheepishly. "And also, what's this Miporin?" she asked confused about what Saori just called her?
"Oh," Saori began, "that's just a cute nickname I just came up for you," she explained. "Do you not like it," she asked, a bit sad?
Miho put up her hands defensively, "no, no, I like it really, it really is cute. It's just that I've never had a nickname before."
The two girls laughed together as the next video began to play, although it was for a different class they along with Hana knew what they would pick for their elective class.
