Naruto closed the door to Hinata's room behind him and sat down in the hallway. A few months ago he was clear about his life: wait for an answer from Sakura, marry her and be Hokague. Or be rejected by the pinkhead, live his life as his godfather and dedicate himself to being Hokage. Nothing else had ever existed.
Now he was leaving the room of a woman for whom all his soul craved for in an incomprehensible way. What was all that mess of emotions that Hinata caused him? How could a person's pain come to feel like one's own? How can that person affect your mood in such a way?
With a slight smile of satisfaction this woman had taken him to heaven, and with her words she directed him to an unknown hell.
What did Hinata mean to him? And why the hell was he starting to question that meaning just now?
"You think of now only because you haven't dared to look back" Kurama's words echoed in his head.
Why was he so offended when she confessed to him about her fireworks adventure? Isn't true that he had been with 2, 3 or even four women in a single day (shadow clone jutsu has particular benefits). Did Hinata owe him some fidelity? Hell NO!
Why did he use sage mode only on her? With so many bed partners he could have employed that skill!
Why did his chest ache so much every time he looked at her after he finished this weird game? It couldn't even be called an adventure cause nothing major happened!
Why, since this game began, had he put aside what was supposed to be the love of his life? Since that day he touched the blue-haired girl for the first time, he barely remembered Sakura, who was supposed to be the owner of his heart.
Why after the feeling of Hinata's warm body on him the night they traveled to Suna, had he not wanted to replace it with anything? The nights had become a lonely torment, living through the memory of her, masturbating to the painting he kept of her. Rejecting every young lady who came to visit him in his room.
He was suffering from her. And the greatest of sufferings was regardless of the path he take, she would soon go far away.
If Hinata was an obsession, he prayed to heaven to find the antidote for such evil.
Heaven answered him immediately
"Hey, Naruto!" He heard Sakura's soft voice pronounce his name.
The boy looked up and saw the radiant smile of the woman who according to him he loved so much, she seemed happy, that made him happy too.
He got up and walked slowly towards her, staring at her features. The green eyes, the beautiful cheeks, the pink lips. Sakura was without a doubt a beautiful woman, enough to brighten any man's day just by looking at her. Anyone except Naruto at that moment, because while his body approached to embrace that beautiful medical woman, his soul didn't want to leave the door of who was his favorite poison at that moment.
-It's good to see you Sakura-chan- She clung to him, hugging him tightly. Naruto felt different, that was the embrace of two old friends who were reunited, not the long-awaited passionate reunion he had dreamed a few months ago.
They heard a door close nearby and Naruto immediately sensed Hinata watching them. Without thinking twice, he broke his partner's hug. Since when had he cared that someone saw him with Sakura? Another question that was added to the endless list of questions from him.
Sakura was surprised by the sudden change in Naruto's state, and she directed her gaze to where he seemed to have been hypnotized. Slowly and timidly Hinata approached them.
-Sakura-san I'm glad you arrived safely-
-Oh my God Hinata! It was hard to recognize you- he hugged her just as she had done with Naruto- I found out about your engagement, congratulations!-
-Thank you very much, as soon as we return to Konoha I will go to the village of the Moon-
-ahhhh! You are going to an exotic country to meet a handsome man to be his wife! How romantic!
Naruto felt an enormous annoyance, after seeing the concern on Hinata's face for all the changes that were coming, he knew that calling all this romantic was the least the Hyuga needed to hear. Hinata was about to add something when they were interrupted.
-Hianta-samma, it's nice to see you recovered- Ronin approached them holding in his hand the same kunai he had used to threatened old Atsu
-Ronin-san, I'm glad to see you too-
-I have come to return the kunai you borrowed me during your visit to the village of the wind, I had the opportunity to try its use, and it convinced me, is a fascinating weapon. As soon as I can I'll buy one for myself-
Hinata took the kunai along with the young man's hands -Ronin-san, this kunai is a gift for the kindness you showed me on that trip, and for the company you have been for me these days, I ask you to please keep it. - a kind smile adorned Hinata's face as she spoke.
Ronin's face turned red, while he kept the kunai in his pocket -I'll keep it as a treasure-
-A weapon does not make a ninja, and a kunai is useless if you don't know how to use it. Mr. Oz, it would be good if you lear how to use it properly, before you carry it everywhere. From what I saw today, you lack many hours of practice to master the weapon. Hinata, you should reconsider your gift, you don't want the gentleman to get hurt- Naruto's words were impregnated with an unrecognizable hostility in him
-It's very wise advice Naruto-kun… Ronin-san if you allow me, we can go to some training ground now, before our last meeting. I will gladly show you some techniques to use it correctly-
-That would be great- Ronin's face did not stop showing emotion
-That sounds interesting, I'll accompany you. I want to make sure our ally learns well- again his own attitude was alien to Naruto, but he was not going to let the useless ninja apprentice spend time alone with Hinata-
-Oh no Naruto-kun, I don't want to bother you and Sakura-san. I'm sure you have a lot to talk about. See you later, during the party-
Ronin and Hinata were starting to walk when Naruto's hand gently took Hinata's, making the girl turn to see him.
-You could never bother me Hinata, I would love to accompany you wherever you go-
-Naruto, actually, there's something I should talk to you about, alone- they heard Sakura say in the background.
-Sakura-chan can we talk later? -
-It's very important- she said seriously.
Naruto sighed and released Hinata's hand, who tried so hard not to show any emotion. She flashed her best smile to both of them and whispered a few words just for Naruto. Then she resumed his march with Ronin.
Naruto wondered how many more times he would have to watch her walk away from him. At that moment, Sakura's presence seemed more of a burden than a blessing. He was surprised at that thought of him. And while he directed his teammate into his room, his mind did not stop repeating the few words that with an enormous sadness the Hyuga heiress whispered to him.
"Good luck"
Hey there! thak you for keep reading this fic :)
Nita: thank you so much for your kind words, really appreciate it. What is your native language? I would love to see the story once you post it :)
pinktree420: well Naruto is already in the path of realizing his feelings, is kind of long, but as you can see he already started to compare both girls. I dont hate Sakura, actually she will help as well in Naturos realization
Guest: yes Naruto is stupid. In the majority of real stories of love I have seen at least one of the persons is stupid, haven't you observed such silly interaction between two persons that all others know they are crazy about each other? To me is the same silly thing as Ranma and Akane (not sure If you know that anime, is kinda old haha). But that is actually the guilty pleasure here, to make all this mess of feelings that eventually may have a happy ending.
